Loved this place. Gluten free buns were the best I've had. What a treat to be able to have a sub sandwich! Totally deserve all 5 stars.

Great location. Shop was fairly busy for lunch. They got everyone taken care of quickly. Staff was super cool and personable.

My favorite sub shop in Austin/Drip Come here all the time and always love the people and food, and the decor puts that weird Austin touch to it. Definitely better than Subway, with fresher ingredients .

first off, the vibes here very good, lots of kindness and patience with me from the staff, the sandwiches are top tier, made to order right in front of you and taste incredible!! highly recommend to anyone! i dont write a lot of reviews but thundercloud is so good i had to write one!

Wow this place is great, blows subway out of the water with the bread recipe alone. I left feeling good and well fed. Nothing like really fresh ingredients. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an affordable, fresh meal made right in front of you.

Best sandwiches around! Staff is a hit or miss regarding sandwich consistency. I love their carrot cake dessert and their fruit smoothies. Prices are very reasonable. Will be going back again and again!

I've been back to this place 6 times and am amazed at the flavors they can build into their subs. Every one is so tasty. I eat low carb so the sub in a bowl is awesome. All kinds of options to add. If u like spicy, their spicy pepper Relish is awesome. they should sell it in a bottle.

This past weekend we contacted a competitor about providing meals for our athletes. I was quoted a price for box lunches and delivery to the meet between $7.00 and $8.00. Saturday morning we stopped by the restaurant to pay for the transaction and I was notified that the actual price was going to be well over $11.00 per meal. At that point we cancelled the transaction. Thank goodness for Thundercloud Subs. They took our order on such late notice and had the food delivered by noon. It was Our Pleasure to have done business with Thundercloud.

Food is very good. Gluten free and Vegan options are available. Their vegetable toppings are delicious and varied, such sprouts and guacamole in addition to the usual sandwich greens. Staff is very friendly and capable. Service is fast (you stand and order and food is prepared as you watch). My only peeve is that the place is freezing. C'mon guys! I don't need to be preserved! 😄

Love this place. This is my favorite thundercloud shop. The employees are very friendly. Love every sandwich I get from these guys. Didn't give 5 stars because I always have to wait, no matter when I visit. Other then that, this place is perfect!

All I got was a drink and use their restroom. The staff was friendly. The restroom was clean. I’m looking forward to eating here one day. It looks good.

This was a particularly interesting visit to Thundercloud, we've never been to this location coming from south Austin. The staff was very young and were very busy with call ahead orders. As we were ordering, we didn't wait too long, it seemed as though they were out of several ingredients tomatoes, there was concern over turkey and how much bread was left. Not sure when deliveries arrive but it looked like it would be a long night. All in all the subs were good, as always.

Warning: The booth benches are not attached! When I was done eating, I slid to the end of the bench where there was no support, and the bench gave way, and I fell on my butt. It was a funny sight, I'm sure!! But someone without as much "padding" as me could have gotten hurt.

The wait was not long. My main complaint on my two large subs was that in comparison to the subs I usually get at the South Austin locations these had way less filling (chicken salad and egg salad). It was obvious that there was no filling on the 2+" on each end. Not even a tiny amount....that disappointed me because it has never happened to me at the other locations.

Always eat here. I order online. This tie it was my incorrectly done. When I called , lady was rude and did not make thing good except if I wanted to come back now. Very disappointed

Friendly enough staff. The dining room was trashed. Every single table was dirty along with the floors. Had to clean my table and booth before we could sit. I've never seen it this dirty. We were the only people here.

I've been a customer of thunder clouds for years I walk in there and totally being ignored as a customer sat there for about 5-10 minutes and the gentleman merit m e r r i t t is the one I would like to file a complaint on on Merritt I will not ever step foot in another thunderclouds and I will not recommend any of my family or friends to thunderclouds

I would rank Subway higher in taste, but as far as quality they are about the same. I have never waited so long for two subs to be made. The guy making our subs literally asked the same questions at least three times about what we didn’t want on our subs. My friends had the same experience. And on top of that it was expensive for a sub place period, much less for sub-par food. Wouldn’t recommend at all.

At the end of a 13 hour drive home from Colorado, I called my wife so she could place an order in Dripping Springs for me to pick up. The bread was dry and the sandwich had mustard, when she specifically said No Mustard. When I asked if she had paid for it, they replied, "No." which was untrue. So, I double paid for a sandwich that was improperly made and rather terrible. I am curious if this is common practice and the employees are pocketing the extra money. I grew up eating Thundercloud. Total disappointment.

Need to prioritize what they NEED to work on vs what they WANT to work on. They NNED to work on the orders- that’s priority/ that’s how the customer base grades. Working on cleaning up and prep for the next day is ancillary and can be accomplished around the main priority which is to sell and make the sandwhich. Do that instead of arguing why you didn’t do it- and I think this place might be ok. Still a little better than golden chick- but management is needed

This couldn't have been more of a NON-customer-centric visit. Arrived around 7:30 on a Sunday night. Business open until 8:00 (at least). Immediately, the guy behind the counter, doesn't greet us, but instead says "we're out of a lot of items right now". Great... So, behind that (stupid) mask, mumbling the entire time, we have to figure out if there's ANYTHING we want to eat available, so that we can order, because we're hungry. He made it a point to tell us, after we told him we were dining in, "We close in 19 minutes" Great, totally accommodating. We order our food, and in the middle of him making it, another couple walks in and he's telling them, "We're out of just about everything". Our sandwiches were OK (Thundercloud has NEVER been great, but it was one of the few places still open), but my wife ordered Tuna, and the tuna was spread so incredibly thin, you could hardly taste it, it was all bread. Then, we're getting finished with our meal, and the same guy comes over and says, "would you mind throwing your trash away in the other bin? Since I'm cleaning this one?" (this is the bin right near our table). We both have a problem with this procedure by restaurant staff, where they do everything they can to be a) less accommodating and b) making sure you know that they're closing the restaurant, and - obviously - you're in their way. At least I didn't leave a tip, but I would certainly go out of my way (as I've done in the past) not to eat at trendy restaurants (like Thundercloud) when the food is no good, and they're certainly not in it for the customer. UPDATE: So I changed the time we were in the restaurant, because, evidently, they close at 8 and not 9 on Sundays, as I originally thought (my mistake). Although, I fail to see how this negates the entirety of the rest of my concerns, as if it MATTERS which day of the week and what time we had this lousy encounter at this place!? So, now, presumably, they can "figure out" (as if they weren't able to already) which employee I was referencing that gave us the bad service. Have at it, I'm sure it will make all the difference in the world.

She didn't expect they would forget the TURKEY. The quac was not fresh. So basically, it was a bowl of wilted salad. She was very unhappy. I ordered pastrami sandwich. It was dry. There was no thunder sauce, and had little mayo. The provolone cheese, I've never seen sliced that thin, it was translucent. Minimal pastrami. Overall disappointing and not worth $18. I've had better sandwiches from the gas station.

Bread laying on the floor, flies on my started sandwich that had been forgotten shortly after the order was started, staff wandering around blankly and eating behind the counter, long line and only one person making sandwiches. I was frankly shocked at the terrible service and experience. I am a loyal Thundercloud customer but will never come to this Dripping location again.
