Opinions de Diwali Restaurant Camden Street Dublin
Diwali is an amazing restaurant serving Indian and Nepalese food. Nice interiors with a cozy vibe. The place is staffed by very good staff with attention to detail. The food itself is decent. This was my first trip to Dublin so not sure in terms of price if this is an expensive restaurant. The restaurant offered us a complimentary starter which was good. They also offered complimentary drinks at the end which we declined. I would recommend this restaurant and will definitely visit it again.
Great to see Diwali have opened a 2nd branch! Food didn’t disappoint. Staff are just as lovely here as the one Georges St! Service was quick! Food very tasty! The Feast Menu was great value too!
Delicious food and elevated atmosphere. I had the chicken vindaloo and my husband had the lamb madras curry. The complimentary appetizer was so good! Super delicious!
Such a lovely place with great food! I totally agree with the 4.8 google rating. Several dishes with Nepalese touch. We are very happy with all the items we had. Masu ra saag was a favourite.
I have ordered from their Camden Street outlet thrice now within a span of couple of weeks. Tried tikka masala, chicken bhuna, himalayan chicken, chana masala and aloo gobi. All veg and non-veg dishes are pretty good. The keema naan is outstanding. I have ordered quite a bit from their South George's Street since many years and they have never disappointed me. Hope they keep up the good work and grow their business.
Great food, lovely atmosphere, amazing staffs! My experience from visiting the place the first time is just as amazing as this one. Complimentary starter was offered and complimentary drinks were offered at the end which we declined. Got a gift voucher from Sumit. Will definitely come back!
Excellent Indian food as always! We are good customers of the George Street Diwali and had to check the new restaurant out. Gorgeous ambiance and impeccable service ❤️🥰
Had lunch here today, party of 2. The lunch menu was very good value, service was great, food was plentiful and delicious. The restaurant was very well presented and clean. Highly recommend! Only 1 photo of a starter. Forgot to take more after that.
Best Indian food in Dublin ! Absolutely delicious. I recommend
I recently dined at Diwali Restaurant, an exceptional Indian restaurant that left me impressed with its vibrant flavors, warm hospitality, and authentic ambiance.
I would like to give them 10 stars. Second time having dinner here and staff is lovely, and the food outstanding. Great quality in all areas. Highly recommended.
I was craving for Indian food and Diwali was a great choice. The chicken tikka masala was delicious, full of flavours and can say only good things about the rest of the food and staff. Recommend the restaurant.
Excellent food with great presentation! Staff were attentive and respectful, prices were reasonable for the area & the lunch deal is great, would recommend!
One of the most delicious indian food we ever ate. The service was very kind. And the food is halal! Thats very nice for muslims. My daughter recommands the butter chicken. It. Was. Delicious.
Super good food, very clean place, good service! Definitely we will be back!
Delicious food. Pristine cleanliness. Excellent service.
The food was very good! The servers were nice and they even gave us a complimentary drink!
A good Indian restaurant. The atmosphere is clean and stylish. The staff are professional and friendly. The chicken dumplings were absolutely delicious. We tried the lamb biryani and chicken korma from the main courses, and they were very good. My only criticism would be that the service was a bit slow even though the restaurant wasnt busy, but I would definitely recommend it.
We love Indian and this was some of the best. Everything was done to perfection. So glad we chose to eat here. It definitely exceeded our expectations!
Amazing Indian food, served just right perfect spice. Their kadhai paneer, biryani and tandoori rotis were the best! Highly recommend. Mr Ganesh Prasai personally came and checked on us as well. Warm hospitality.
I was here in 10/01/2025 for celebration boyfriend’s birthday. Ohhh the staff very help and friendly. Nice India food, is litle expensive but it pays off. Amazing and I recommend
A wonderful restaurant. We have dined here at least 6 times this year. The food is consistently fabulous. Fresh, plentiful portions, and great flavours of India and Nepal. The staff are professional , and very nice. We will continue to go to Diwali and enjoy the food and atmosphere. Go if you can
Diwali is a very pleasant place to spend some time. Relaxed and quiet. The service is polite, efficient, friendly, and the food is delicious. We enjoyed the Chicken Korma, the Bhuna Lamb (a favourite) and Lamb Rogan Josh - all very good indeed. Five stars all round. Thank you.
Very good Indian food. Simple and well done. Not crowded neither loud which is a very good thing in this area
Amazing food and great service. My wife and I got Bengal Bhuna Lamb and Butter Chicken and both were phenomenal. Probably the best food we had while we were in Dublin (which is saying a lot!). If you want a more relaxed experience, make sure you go in the afternoon since there is a theatre 5 minutes away that does shows in the evening that drives many people into restaurants in this area.
5/5 all round. Great food and atmosphere and very friendly staff. Early bird menu was also good value. And to top it off they gave us a free glass of Baileys. Curry was fantastic. Will return for sure.
Good place to dine in. They have decent veg options. I had Chana masala and tandoori roti. Food was very good. There is liquor available too. Place has good ambience. Nice to enjoy a guineas draft with papad.
The service was outstanding! The staff is Nepalese, which is synonymous of friendliness and great hospitality. We were treated very kindly. Our vegan and vegetarian meals arrived quickly and they were very tasty. The best part was meeting the Nepalese people who work at this lovely restaurant! We wish them all the success. Thank you so much for your kindness. Namaste.
Beautiful restaurant with lovely warm atmosphere. Seating is very comfortable and spacious. Food was absolutely delicious. Great choice of Nepalese and Indian delights. Our table of five had a varied selection of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. We were treated to a complementary Prosecco with strawberry on arrival. The wine choice is also varied. The service was excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive the restaurant is great value for money. This restaurant is suitable for large groups or for the more intimate dining plans. I highly recommend Diwali Camden Street.
Popped in hoping for a table for 2 on a Saturday evening. Great service and amazing food. We were before 7pm so ordered from the 27.95 set menu. Prawn starter and Himalayan lamb were standouts but everything was great. Naan was so fresh too. Complimentary drink to finish and a lovely voucher inviting us back which we will definitely avail of. Best Indian, and best meal in general, we've had in a long time.
Really good experience altogether. Half of our party were in bit late in arriving, as we explained to the staff my son had an exam and it was also his birthday. We were offered a complimentary drink after our meal (which I don’t ever remember being offered anywhere in Dublin), and then my son was present with an ice cream dessert with a candle, complimented. Such a lovely touch, and so unexpected. These little things really matter and I will be sure to tell people about it, and recommended. Thank you, Diwali, your lovely staff are doing a great job!
My partner and I decided to eat here after walking around Dublin, we ate at the branch at 77, Camden St. Lower in St Kevin's. Immediately upon entering our olfactory sensors were bathed in divine aromas emanating from the kitchen. The food only lived up and exceeded these assumptive senses of ours, to nourish our bodies with great tasting, and beautiful dishes. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and were a pleasure to experience during our dinner. Highly recommended. We eat loads of Indian food and this was some of the best we have ever had.
Hadn't been to Diwali for a number of years but always enjoyed it when I did go there. I have eaten there twice in the last month & I'm delighted that it still serves wonderful food. Really enjoyed our food on both occasions & will be back regularly.
I went to the restaurant to get takeaway. The atmosphere was so nice! The food was amazing!! And the staff were so sweet! Deffo going there again
Superb dining at this most consistent of restruaunts. The food is top class and wonderfully varied. What's more, prices are amazing, especially taking into consideration the quality of ingredients (I swear, I have never tasted such succulent lamb, nor ever before seen such enormous tasty prawns! WOW!). For price to benefit ratio, this is the best restaurant in Dublin, I must honestly assert. Staff are unfailingly kind, warm, attentive and welcoming; wine list, including great bargain house-wines by the glass, is marvellous, as well as the apperitif and digestif menus. Dining room is comfortable, airy and inviting; and bathroom facilities immaculate. Lunch and early-bird menus are superb, but so are the weekend specials, and really and truly, the constantly wonderful Al Á Carte selection also represents superb value for money, as well as a never ending reserve of delightful food. All in all, Dwalli is recommended without any reservation of any kind. I repeat: "Cost/Benefit Ratio is the best I know of"! 5 Stars sometimes aren't enough! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
The food here was delicious! We got the chicken jalfrezi and chicken vindaloo and it was so good. The vindaloo was the perfect amount of spicy (really spicy by American standards! it’s hard to find anything actually spicy in Dublin). Services was amazing! Food was amazing! 10/10 would recommend to anyone visiting or living here
Quite simply the best Indian food I've had in a long time. Beautiful presented all the way through, huge portions. Do t mess about, just go here
The food was incredible, best Indian food we’ve ever had. Karuna was our server and she was amazing! Thank you so much again!!
Very elegant, welcoming for a solo traveler with good attentive, even thoughtfully timed service (rare for Indian & Asian restaurants). But need to agree with other reviewers who found the spice level lacking, even consistently sweet. That said, their Rice was among the most perfectly spice-flavored I’ve ever had. I would return, and ask for “Indian spicy.”
We ate here one Sunday before a show in the NCH. The food was mostly good but some dishes could have been better. The vegetable biryani was more spicy than expected and too salty. One of the fish dishes was somewhat lacking in flavour. The service was perfect. When we were at the restaurant they were having an Elvis night. The Elvis Presley impersonator was loud and we couldn't really talk much as a result. Some other diners seemed to love it, and may have even been there for the occasion, but it wasn't for us.
Delicious meal and very friendly wait staff, offered us a €10 voucher off our next meal with them. We will definitely be returning !
We were a group of 4. We walked in and the smell was amazing. I thought we had made a great choice for dinner. I couldn’t wait to tuck in to my food. We ordered a bunch of starters and all were tasty, full of flavour. It had me salivating for my main. We ordered 4 different curries and lots of naan and rice. But honestly, we were left very disappointed. The food was lacking flavour. It needed some sort of extra spice. It was the most bland Indian food I’ve tried. To the point I had to add salt. Ultimately, I was very disappointed and won’t be back. The service was good and the decor was very lovely but the food let this restaurant down. I only hope it was a one off given the other reviews for this restaurant
Food was okay, but the service was fantastic. Honestly - the main dishes were not good to borderline bad. The paneer karahi and dal were not flavorful at all. The naan GOC was hilariously under salted. The samosa chaat and chicken lasuni starter were both okay. Honestly, don't waste your money here. I'm shocked this place has multiple spots in Dublin because it's not great food wise. What is fantastic is the service. The people there were fantastic. The main guy that served us was really attentive and had our drinks out so quickly. The one positive on the food was serving pappad complimentary. The only thing I was happy about.
Ordered takeaway, starters (samosas and aloo chap) were good. Mains very disappointing- undercooked and under seasoned. Rice was boiled when we ordered and paid for pilau. Disappointing over all.
The staff is wonderful and very helpful. the food is truly disappointing, no authentic indian flavors. The korma had no cumin, coriander, garam, or anything else that tastes like traditional indian food. it was just coconut milk and nuts, way too sweet and a very thin sauce. plus it was chicken breast and very bland overall.
Disappointed with this, we had a booking for 3 people and were seated in the basement, which had a very awkward atmosphere, low ceiling, staff would only come down every ten minutes or so, we had to walk up ourselves if we wanted something extra. People kept walking down to us thinking it’s the toilet 😩 Cocktails were nice. Food was mixed. Wasn’t in any shape an authentic experience.
Restaurant totally empty on Moday evening, nice early bird menu, complimentary poppadoms and dips. Starters were fine, but we had genuine complaint with main course, which we couldn't eat. Management attitude changed completely, became very unpleasant. So, we left, very hungry, very disappointed
From the moment we arrived in, menus were being shoved at us even before we had our coats off. Plates were swiped away with the next course plates swiftly put down in front of us. We had to ask the server to give us breathing space. The food was poor. Vegetable samosa was rock hard. We both had the lamb which was chewy and fatty. We mentioned this to the waitress who said she'd tell the chef. When we paid the 137.50 bill, we put 160 in cash in the little folder fully expecting change. It never came!! The waitress actually asked me was I expecting change. That's 100% not her call. Will not be back
I had an extremely disappointing experience at Diwali Restaurant. Despite having a booking, we were made to wait for 30 minutes with no explanation or apology. The hospitality was pathetic, and the staff was indifferent and unwelcoming. To make matters worse, the manager was outright rude and mocking, showing no regard for customer service. The ambience was equally unimpressive, adding to the overall unpleasant experience. If you don’t want to ruin your evening, I strongly advise against visiting this place. Definitely not worth it!
