Opinions de Frankie, Johnnie & Luigi, Too! Dublin
We have eaten here over the past 10 plus years. Like with most restaurants they have their ups and downs. But Frankie Johnnie & Luigi has delivered consistently delicious Italian food. Last time was especially good. Tina's Too Too Much Pizza was true to it's name. It was a meat lover's dream with all the possible kinds of meat you can think of. Too many that I can't remember them all. The amount of meat they put on this pizza is almost too much... almost... but I truly love meat. Finally the layers of meat are no good if it doesn't taste good. The pizza is delicious. The crust is crispy not soggy. The toppings were all fresh and tasty... layers of flavor. So good.
I went here for the first time and ordered the chicken parmigiana and it was delicious. I can’t wait to return and try something else. Update: It’s been over a year since I first came here and I’ve now been about 20 times. My 5-Star review still stands. Everything is delicious.
I always end up at Frankie’s every weekend. Every time I think about trying a new restaurant I just end up saying, “Screw it. I’m going to Frankie’s.” It’s an old school classic Italian restaurant. The pepperoni pizza, the fettuccine portofino, and the make-your-own-calzone are my favorite dishes. The atmosphere is great and the staff are always kind. You won’t be disappointed!
We are visiting out of town from Bakersfield, California. We stopped at a local gas station and was told by the attendant that this restaurant was the place to go, so we tried it. It was amazing food. Great service, and I loved your key lime pie.
Excellent experience. A traditional Italian restaurant with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere that’s great for families. Menu has all the classics and the dishes were refreshingly simple and well-executed. The rare win-win for children and adults and a nice island of small business in a sea of national chains.
I have been coming to this restaurant for years, but pretty much have just ordered the same thing all the time because it’s always been good. This time I decided to step out of my comfort zone. I am not a huge fan of fish, but I ordered Salmon Risotto and it was AMAZING! The Salmon was very fresh tasting and the risotto was super moist with lots of great flavors. I will definitely be coming back to order the Salmon Risotto again! Their soups are always great and I especially like the Minestrone.
Great family atmosphere..!! If you want some real good causal Italian food come here skip the Olive Garden you won’t regret!! Food is amazing honestly couldn’t take a picture each time I came food is so delicious. Definitely come come to this place !! Food amazing service great atmosphere. I even got to go orders for the fam as well food still good !!
We celebrated my grandson's baptism and my other grandsons birthday. There was approximately 45 guests. The staff was kind and helpful. The food was excellent. The banquet room is large and bright. The younger kid's had plenty of room to play and have fun. A good time was had by all. Will definitely be going there again soon.
All I know is I had a craving all day for minestrone soup and boy did this place deliver. I happened to be at the gas station next door and saw this place. I jumped online and saw soup to go. I picked up a quart and was so happy. It was so tasty and packed with goodness that I’m still happy. There were so many different veggies and the tortellinis in there were a great addition. If you want or need milestones soup then hit this place up. You won’t be disappointed.
I have just have to write a review for incredible, above and beyond, customer service. I ordered a huge meal for a birthday party. I messed up the date, and didn't double check. They were incredibly generous and understanding. And still made my order for the correct date. Not only that, the food was incredible!!! I'm telling everyone how all around amazing Frankie, Johnnie and Luigi's Too is!!
Great traditional Italian food. Our family gathering of 10 ordered takeout via the website. The food was a bit delayed due to the holiday rush. However, the food was well packaged and tasted great. And, we were able to enjoy leftovers the next day.
If you order plain hot water, they charge you for it. That's just not right!!
Everything is delicious here. Pizza and more. Chicken Limmone is my favorite dish here!
Cute Italian place with red and white checkered tablecloths. Bread was delicious, but I was disappointed that it came with butter rather than oil and cheese. That would have been heaven! I had gnocchi in a pink sauce that was outstandingly light and tasty. Hubby had pasta with melted cheese that was perfect. Nice wine selection. Would definitely return.
The best of the best in this town. We love FGL's! We have tried most everything on the menu but still have a hard time picking favorites, they remain pretty consistent, have a wonderful dining room, space for larger parties, while keeping that small town Italian restaurant feel. I have never had a bad meal, met a bad server, or had customer service problems in the slightest. Lots of pizzas, pastas and liquor, what could be better?!
Updating my initial review from a couple years ago. Still a great spot for Italian food. Last time I went on about the pizzas (which are still awesome 👌), but I'd like to highlight their other dishes, especially their pasta. I had the Penne Calibrese, which was amazing. Also, not to be missed: their fresh-baked dinner rolls; hot out of the oven, they are irresistible, either with the whipped garlic butter, or olive oil for dipping. Don't fill up on them before your food is served! I know many at our table did (yes, they are that good!). Still only giving them 4 of 5 stars for service, as i had to ask a server to take our order. Also, the server did not provide a printed receipt, which i asked for. Still, overall, acceptable service, and a GREAT casual dining experience! ≈≈≈======== original review: This is a great spot for Italian food. A very comfortable, down-to-earth ambiance, together with friendly service, and amazing food. The pizzas are particularly extraordinary, and really large (a "small" is the size of a "medium" at most restaurants. The only reason the Service received 4 of 5 stars was that we had to wait 45 minutes past out reservation time to get a table. In fairness, we were a party of 10, on a Saturday night, and they were very busy.
I love the pizza here! Had a salad with their delicious bread and garlic butter. A Whiskey sour mash so yummy 😜 They also have great pasta dishes. The best Italian sausage and pizza crust which I also had. Great menu. Would have given a 10 on atmosphere but they sat a group with restless kids next to me. Service is always excellent.
Service was great and food was good! Visited on a Saturday afternoon with the family of 5. It wasn't too packed and we got seated in 5 minutes or so. The hostess was welcoming. The server, Rocky, was very polite and prompt. They kept our drinks full and checked on us just enough so we felt taken care of but not bothered. Great atmosphere and good people from what I could tell. I recommend this place to everyone!
We have been to Frankie, Johnny and Luigi in Dublin at least six times for family celebrations. The food is phenomenal. The weight staff very attentive and it was a nice family atmosphere. We were recently there for our parents 62nd wedding anniversary and they did not disappoint.
Best food ever. We drive an hour and half just to eat here.
I love this restaurant. I drove by it for years and finally found time to eat there. It’s now my favorite Italian restaurant. The food is amazing and the service is done by people who have done their jobs for years.
Very fun knowledgeable staff. Very attentive. You can see they love their work and environment. That said, as a person allergic to dairy, i was limited by their very dairy menu. I had their meat ravioli with meat sauce. My partner had pizza. We went home full with leftovers for 2 more meals (generous portions!)
Awesome pizza salads plentiful great family restaurant.
Nice menu the food is tasty and plentiful and the complimentary warm bread and butter adds a nice home cooked touch to the meal.
I always place DoorDash orders for this restaurant and every time I’ve ordered it has been delightful! Recently went to dine in and took my sister and mother for the first time. Let’s just say they have been asking to go again and again! The service was splendid!! Our waiter (older Spanish man forgot his name) checked on us for refills and even chatted with us. Overall all my experiences have been great! My favorite dish is the jambalaya and the mostacioli di bari AND you could never go wrong with their pizza!! I only have pics of pizza sorry 😝
We love coming here to Frankie, Johnny, & Luigi when we're in the area. The staff are really nice. The food is amazing. It's super clean, and we've never had to wait for a seat. I love the, Tina's Too Much Pizza. We ordered a 12" and hof it came home for tomorrow's lunch. The baked lasagna is huge. Filled with meat, cheese, pasta, and yumminess. Our friend ordered it. She loved it, and half of it went home. Trust me, it's big. If you are there on a Friday, try their Clam Chowder. It's hot, thick, and loaded with clams. I usually wouldn't talk about a bred basket, BUT, their bread and whipped butter are so good. The menu is pretty extensive. Take your time and enjoy.
They raised the prices of the cocktails, but we also have discovered the quatro formaggio pizza. It has gorgonzola cheese which takes it to the next level. We also like to add ham or Canadian bacon if they have it. We love eating here every time. The service is always good and the food is great. The fresh made bread and garlic butter is insanely addictive and its hard to resist saying yes to more every time they ask. They have good martinis, margaritas, and manhattans for $4 each all day every day and happy hour saves you a couple bucks on other things as well. Their pizzas are good and the lasagna is fantastic. I would also recommend the alfredo mushrooms for an appetizer.
I've been coming to this place for many years. Food is consistently good. Service is excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful. Keep up the good work!
I don't care what you order on the menu you can't go wrong. It's Hard enough to stay away from the bread. Everything tasted like Grandmas Homemade 💯😋
Plenty of parking. Vegetarian options. Wheelchair accessible. Stellar customer service. Takeout available. Indoor and outdoor dinning. Family friendly. Serves beer and cocktails. Ideal for dates, gatherings, or studying. The front half and back half of the restaurant are two totally different experiences. Both equally appealing. Whether you’re looking for a quick bite or full dinning experience. FJL is my go to spot in Dublin, 🍀 My favorite items off the menu are the Calzones, Pastas, and of course, desserts 🍨 The Tiramisu or Spumoni are a must. Its rare to give a 5 star review, that way it means something when I do. Places like this are hard to come by. From the menu to the service and everything in between. By far one of my favorite restaurants in the Bay Area. 10/10 would recommend anything on the menu, recently tried the Pesto Pasta. *chefs kiss*
Best ever. First class touring acts all stop here. Friendly fast and delusions
We love this place for the food quantity, quality of ingredients and value for money. Huge portions with quality ingredients!! Highly recommend 👍😋
I remember eating the original Frankie Johnnie & Luigi Too in the south Bay many years ago, I was wondering if this new Dublin location would live up to the memories. And thankfully, it did! This is not some classic Italian pizza joint. This is top-loaded American-indulgence combined with rustic craft. The pizzas are overflowing with toppings and creates such a flavor bomb in your mouth. The vibes of the place are so cozy and family-friendly, love this kind of spot. Service was extremely accommodating as well.
The crust? Hand-tossed and well-cooked — solid showing. The cheese game was on point: stretchy, melty, and generous. The pepperoni had a perfect little kick, and the sauce? 100% homemade vibes. Might just be the best pepperoni pie of the year so far.
We ordered rake out. Portions were quite large and pasta dishes were out of this world! It was packed when we picked up so you may want to make reservations if its around peak hours
Their pizzas are legendary, loads of meats and spices at reasonable prices. Food portion is on the larger side. Prices have gone up by about 50% since pandemic. Service is prompt and friendly. One of the best Italian restaurants in the Bay Area.
Classic Italian comfort food done right. Frankie, Johnnie & Luigi Too! has that warm, old-school vibe that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a neighborhood staple, and the food backs it up. I had the Pasta Bolognese, and it was fantastic. It was rich, meaty, and full of flavor. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the sauce tasted like it had been simmering all day. Simple, traditional, and satisfying. Service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere strikes a nice balance between casual and cozy. Great spot for a relaxed dinner with family or friends. Highly recommend if you're in the area and craving traditional Italian dishes made with the care of your old, Italian grandma! I've been there three times, and will always go back when I am in the area.
I love this restaurant. The food is always delicious. The Ciopinno unfortunately is more of a thin broth soup than a thick and hearty sauce type of soup. I recommend the Chicken Limone, crab cakes, calamari, and Salmon & Shrimp Picatta. Karen, our server, is always so friendly and helpful.
I am in Dublin for training and don't know the area. A couple of coworkers and I wanted Italian, so we tried this restaurant. The food was amazing and our servers were really great. I tried Manhattan clam chowder for the first time and loved it. The bread and garlic butter were good too. My coworker ordered mushrooms for an appetizer. I could have made a whole meal of those. They were so delicious! My main course did not disappoint. I had the salmon delight salad. Will definitely be back.
I’ve been eating at FJL for around 15 years and have finally gotten around to trying the salads. They’re fantastic and chock full of protein, zesty dressing, and fresh greens. I’d love to shout out Keegan for continuously providing an amazing dining experience that brings me back time and time again.
I went here with my family and wait time was 30 minute and got seated in about 15 minutes which was nice. The sever was nice however he got my order wrong as I ordered a Stromboli but got a pizza instead. I contemplating complaining but I was hungry and it’s not really a big deal and It was busy and humans make mistakes The pizza was good and I liked the crust My wife liked her meal and my daughter liked hers as well. I’ll comeback next time and hopefully get the Stromboli lol
If you're in the area, please treat yourself. This establishment has been in business over 60 years, and as a young child, my mom absolutely loved and adored this place. ❤️ Very authentic and original. Brandon, the bartender is amazing 👏 and his customer service is outstanding 👏. The food is original and authentic 👌 😀
I used to eat here a lot when I lived in the area. Visiting now for work and wanted pizza. Thank goodness they are on DD. The thin crust pizza was delicious, made just the way we like it. Also ordered cheese ravioli with garlicky alfredo and our fave Tiramisu. Everything made to perfection. Thank you so much!
Had my company’s Xmas gathering here 2 weeks ago, place and ambiance was great as well their customer service. Food is ok ordered baked lasagna, though price is same as pricey compare to other dine-in restaurant.
Came here after a long day at the Fairgrounds. Initially were told we’d have a 90 minute wait, but the nice staff was able to get us seated more quickly. Portions very large, was easily split between two. The bread with garlic butter was very good. We ordered the lasagna. Flavors were just very classic Italian-American. It had a nice atmosphere to visit with our group.
Came here for a baby shower so we had a set menu and an enclosed area for the event. Food was mostly good. Bread was kinda hard but tastes really good and wasn't super dense. Cheese pizza and salad was good. My favorite were bbq ribs, not too salty tangy but was pretty tender, almost fell off the bones. The chicken in my opinion was pretty dry but was seasoned well. I'm picky with dry fowl but my boyfriend said it wasn't too dry for him. Service was very friendly and came by often to refill drinks.
I loved the Italian ambiance that kinda made me feel like home. The food was ok, I ordered Gnocchi Bolognese and I got a different sauce which was too sweet to my taste. But it was definitely nice to have some real food for a change. I have to agree with others on this review page regarding the front desk ladies that are far from welcoming and nice. Service was ok, but not really deserve much more than a standard tip.
The fettuccine portifino good and is made with generous portions of shrimp and jumbo shrimp. They also have "family" size portions. For takeout, I ordered the half tray and a half order of cheesy garlic bread for $109 and got 6 servings, a pretty good value these days. The pizza is pretty good too and they have a decent cauliflower crust pizza for keto friendly options.
Very family restaurant with pasta and pizza. Price are good for some platee but porti8are generous
Great place! Service was perfect! It's a whole in the wall in Dublin. I wish more people would know about this place :) Truely an East coast Itslian restaurant feeling! Eggplant sandwich is delicious! We would certainly come here again! Fifth star to rely on consistency when we come next :)
The food was very good and great value. The buffalo chicken wings were really good. I had a salad with salmon and it was a decent portion.
They have plenty of staff but they seem to ignore those wanting to be seated to eat in and assuming everybody coming in was a DoorDasher. Waited at the counter to be acknowledged for over 15 minutes with four different staff coming and going and not even asking if I needed anything. One seated the waitress was wonderful and very attentive. Food was ok, large portions
The food was okay. Tried Chiken parm and tasted good. Calamari and other appetizers were okay.
I have been here twice We had a nice server she has a great since a humor. Second vist here it was better. Great food and great wine 🍷
Met up with family at Frankies. Staff there are very attentive and friendly. From hosts, bar staff to wait staff, everyone seemed happy. We kind of ordered family style. We had calamari which was excellent (so I heard, not a fan of calamari myself) and Caesar Salad. Salad was just ok. Ordered Calzones, Pizza, A Shrimp Pasta and a Pesto. All entrees were excellent with the stand outs being the pizza and the pesto. I would just say the decor feels just slightly dated, but not worn out. Overall a great experience
We had 2 pizzas and the food was really good, but we were at the restaurant for just over an hour before the food came to our table. There was a party being hosted in another section that may have affected their normal routines. It took some time before we could order then about 45 minutes for pizza to arrive. We had to inquire multiple times to figure out what was going on. Some heads up would have really been appreciated before that full hour passed.
Had a crew dinner with 8 team members and it was a issue to just add 2chairs to our table ends. Food was pre-made oven in and didn't have the fresh made taste. Food was average at best but our crew made it ! We were hoping for fresh cheese but got and ate what they served
Average restaurant. The decor is a bit tacky and could use an update. It has strong lights, which could be a fire hazard. With fake plants and poor overhead lighting. Red table cloths. The food did not taste bad, but not great either. Pretty bland and simple. The menu had so many options it was confusing. While it was bland there was not a good description for simple things, no just pasta and marinara. Overall to many options. The presentation was average and food took 40 min in a half empty restaurant. No one ordered anything complex either.
The food was decent, a little overpriced for the options...the service e was ok, but our waiter seemed irritated when it took us a few to decide what we wanted...he seemed stressed. Atmosphere was normal, did not stand out from other places I've been... bottom line it was average, but a little overpriced for the quality..
Hit or miss when it comes to Customer Service depending on who is greeting you when you walk in. Sometimes it seems like some employees don't want to be there and their customer service is less desirable. The server did change her attitude a few times around for the better. But first impressions are everything right? The food is always good and they have gluten free options.
Everything in this restaurant is good, the food is amazing, the service of the waiters is good too but the host ladies at the front counter unfortunately are terrible. They don’t look at you, always using their phones or talking to each other and just ignore you there for a few minutes, they also hate when you ask something especially when you ask if your order is ready to pick up, I usually order food there at least once a week and these ladies always give me this same treatment and this is worse with the deliveries. Today one of the hosts started yelling at the waitress in front of me who was just trying to give my bag. It's a shame because the place is really nice.
I ordered a wedge salad to go, and the bacon was not cut up in tiny pieces. The tomato slices were not chopped. I basically had to cut everything up. I've never had a problem with the food. No picture this time tho.
We went at 2:30. Hopping for happy hour. It's not really that great of a happy hour. There was hardly anyone in the place! I ordered the veal Marcella. The mashed potatoes and veggies were excellent! The veal...one piece was cooked fine, the other pueces were raw in the middle When I cut into them, blood came out! That's undercooked! This dish is like veal scalappini. It has a very nice gravy and mushrooms. They graciously took back the undercooked veal and brought me a whole new plate of food!! Mashed potatoes, veggies and perfectly cooked veal! Wow! That's an excellent cook! My husband had the uou make it calazone. It had motzarella, spinich, italian sausage, tomatoes and mushrooms. They served it with a small bowl of marinara sauce. He didn't like it much. It needed some sauce on the inside. But it was happy hour and when I ordered my wine, the waiter never said you know it's happy hour, and you can get a glass of the house chardonnay for $6.00. But I guess they don't do that. Anyway, I love this place. It's such a typical Italian restaurant. Their bread rolls and whipped butter with garlic and little green flecks of I think parsley., or something, is delishious!!
Met a friend here for dinner and enjoyed catching up and the very, very tasty sandwich!!! That's the 3 stars! The two blank stars were for the pressured feeling I got about sitting, and catching up with someone and employees kept walking back, checking to see if the bill was ready to be paid yet? It was a Wednesday evening, and the place was kinda dead. Did they want to close early?
We had a large party of about 20-25 people for an event. Food that was being served to tables around us smelled and looked great. We had pre-ordered our entree choices, of course, days before. There weren't any vegan options. Unfortunately, my gluten-free pasta was hard and not thoroughly cooked. The pesto sauce it came with was tasty, but I couldn't eat it and had to wait until the server came at the end to send it back. It was too late to order anything else. I liked the simple salad, but others said it wasn't flavorful enough. Servers were friendly. Other helpers and runners were rushing around, they were very busy on a Friday night. I didn't get any more water refills after halfway through, and I was thirsty. I know they were busy, but we didn't get served food until over 1 hour and 15 min after our start time. I'm sure this place is probably better when it's not packed.
Taste is a personal thing and I like the atmosphere and the friendliness of the waiters, but it was not the best "Italian" I have visited. The pizza was a little bit boring, but the crust was ok. The bread with garlic butter was flat and not exciting. I also missed some background music to improve the vibe. The price was not in balance with the food: too expensive.
We were seated at the table where there were no dinner napkins. A set of the flimsy napkins was placed on our table while all the other tables had the nice linen napkins. We were given bread that was from the day before. It was hard it was stale. The waitress eventually told us fresh bread was coming. Though she was attentive for the most part there was no hospitality in her work. I had the ravioli compare and cheese ravioli which was good. My wife hated her veggie sandwich, it was unseasoned, a little soggy and unappetizing. She ended up stealing from my plate. Th ex desserts were fine, nothing special. We were given to go boxes halfway through eating. A sign they wanted us to leave I guess. Plus we got the check without asking, which was a first for us. Overall I’m disappointed that I have to give this place 3 stars today. My wife and I have come here a number of times and enjoyed our experience. However there is a downward trend that we are seeing. We might give it another try but I think we are going to have to look for another Italian place in the Dublin/Pleasanton area.
Food is good, service is atrocious. Waiter took approx 25 min to take drink order after everyone had arrived. I had to get up and walk to the hostess to ask for menus after that. I ordered 2 appetizers at this point about 45 min after seating. After only one was delivered, we waited about another 15 min to order our meals. I told the waiter to just hold off on the 2nd appetizer that wasn't delivered and he told me "You didn't order that". Overall food was pretty good. Didn't get our food though until over an hour and a half. After dessert was done, and our check was finally taken our dinner took a total of 3 hrs to complete.
Just meh. I wanted some Italian goodness but ended up with something that was.. well.. an interpretation of Italian cuisine. There is no way the people that cooked my food had a drop of italian blood in their veins. My alfredo sauce literally tasted like skim milk and the marinara 100% came from a can. I had high Hope's for this cute little spot but once again we see what appears to be owners either lining their pockets/just staying afloat and depending on bargin barrel kitchen staff. The previously frozen fried raviolis were ok and a server was very sweet and kind (though we were forgotten and it took an hour for our mains after the ravioli). Get a chef that knows sauces or this ship will sink. Best of luck and be grateful for your local neighborhood supportors.
The food is great but the hosts at the front are very rude. If you have a to go order and need to pick up nobody will even ask if you need help. They will keep using their cellphones pretending you’re not there and if you ask for your order they will look at you like you are bothering them. If you have a pick up order be ready to be sorry for asking them to do their job.
Had good food catered from here a while back so decided to go dine in with a couple of friends. Was not impressed. No napkins on the table and had to ask three times before the waitress did a "drive by" and tossed a few paper ones onto the table. Her attitude was curt the entire visit. Food was average and my eggplant parm appeared to be deep fried from frozen, then a few squares of pre-wrapped cheese-food squares were melted on top. I would warn friends that this place seems more like a fast-food joint than a restaurant.
It all started really good, but went down pretty quick. The say us down in the mid of family reunions and it was pretty loud, but oh well, no big deal really, my husband and I were there to have a nice Italian dinner so the screams and cries of children didn't stop us from having a good night. The server approached us pretty fast, and we started ordering our food, two Italian sodas (even though she didn't know what flavors they had to offer.. strawberry is always good) and some fried raviolis, I was ready to order my food, my husband took a minute. We ordered. Filet mignon pasta for me and chicken parmesan with fettuccine alfredo for him. They bring the fried raviolis, we eat them pretty fast, they were pretty good. Minutes past, other people get seated, other people get served. People get bread, but they didn't brought us any. We finish both our drinks. Half an hour later another server comes to clean up the plate, he comes back 10 minutes later and asks, are you guys done? (Mind you it's been like 40+ mins.) We tell him no, we haven't had our food yet. In the meantime my husband and I are trying to keep good spirits. It's our date night, we want to like this place. They finally bring our food and... I'm sorry, I can do way better at home. I wouldn't pay $20 to sit at a loud restaurant and wait for 45 minutes for that.. the filet mignon was more like steak thin, way overdone, the creamy sauce was flavorless and overall my pasta was cold... my husband wasn't even what he asked for, they put a grilled chicken breast with marinara sauce over his fettuccini and threw alfredo sauce on top. We ate what we could and left. We took our left overs, but we threw them away the next day... totally flavorless. Not coming back.
The restaurant is DIRTY! Took about 10 mins to get seated. The menu is so BIG. That’s not always a good thing. When we got seated the table was dirty along with the booth where we sat. The food is BLAND. The house bread is hard, taste funky. The drinks even had this funky taste. We really don’t know how this place has good reviews. I’ve had better “Italian” made at the house. We will not be coming back.
Cozy welcoming environment with a nice set up. The aroma greets you when you enter the facility. The menu looks promising. And that's where it ends. The waitress approached our table in such a rude and disrespectful manner, by stating that we were at wrong for having a highchair, placed by their hostess, in the aisle. There were no more then 2 other tables sitted out of 40 in our area. This small insignificant encounter did ruin the entire experience. The manager attempted to salvage it, but it did not help that the food was mediocre at best. I would definitely not recommend.
Terribly disappointed with tonight's experience. They are clearly understaffed. The waiter was capable and working hard - but there were simply too many patrons for the crew to handle. After a significant time had passed since ordering, the food came to the table in fits and starts. One person at our table got their entree 25 minutes after the others. This will likely be our last trip to FJL.
A fellow mate of mine is visiting for the holidays & they wanted Italian food. Actually they requested pasta, but we did a search on Google and this place showed up. We decided to give it a try. Since neither of us have been here before we were very excited and couldn't wait to try the food based upon the Google reviews. The service was horrible. Since we were on the road for a while I wanted to wash my hands, as I'm approaching the restroom there's a Strong smell of urine at the bar. 🤢 Instantly we were given a table all the way in the back. Absolutely no one came back there to check on us, offer us a drink of water, give us a basket of bread, nothing at all. Again, it was horrible service. We saw a waiter and we were completely ignored. My mate then flagged someone down (the bus boy) only to be instantly brushed off again. After waiting for a little over a half an hour and not receiving any service at all, we left.
During our recent visits, we have been disappointed. We typically order the salmon delight salad, but the salmon portions have been minuscule the last couple of times. Additionally, the spinach, which used to be a filling and satisfying component, has decreased in serving size. This dish is a favorite of ours. The website image accurately represents the salad's former appearance. Considering the $19.00 price, we expect a more substantial salmon serving.
Beware, in take out a metal wire from scrub brush was found in shrimp pasta dish. Called and left message but no return call. Called health department next day to make report. Today went to complain and was told it was likely from a brush used in cleaning the cooking pan. When asked how management would prevent risk in the future and asked for an apology were told we have an attitude. Was given a text receipt and said it would take 5 days to even get a refund. Until they ensure they have better cleaning and food preparation inspection controls you are taking a risk eating at FJL. Beware!
