Opinions de Shalimar Dublin
This was the second time that I've eaten at Shalimar. Excellent Pakistani food. The freshly made bread are the best I've ever tasted. I enjoyed the chicken and beef dishes that I had for lunch so much that I bought another meal home for my family.
7+ years of going at Shalimar Dublin. We eat same food every other weekend. Nihari, chicken biryani, tangdi (roasted chicken leg), chicken and beef seekh kabab. The Naans are the specialty as they are the softest out of the three Shalimar (other locations being at Fremont and San Francisco). Wonderful food. No complaints.
The tandoori chicken here is absolutely awesome! Bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked, it truly stands out. Just like other Shalimar locations, this one maintains its reputation for serving some of the best Pakistani food around. The spices and authentic taste are unmatched, making every bite a delightful experience. Whether it’s the tenderness of the chicken or the perfectly balanced seasoning, it’s clear that quality and flavor are top priorities here. This spot is a must-visit for anyone craving delicious and authentic Pakistani cuisine. I’ll definitely be coming back for more of their amazing dishes. Highly recommended!
The kababs here are a must-try. I usually go for chicken, but I decided to try the lamb chops, and they were fantastic. The portions are generous, unlike other places. My favorites have always been the Chicken Kabab and Tandoori Leg, and now the Lamb Chops have joined that list too.
Place is decent. Not a large variety of food options especially if you traveling from far to come there. Would recommend other restaurants with better variety and good taste of food. There prices are ok given the place. However, they can do better than this given the customer loyalty and rush all the time at the restaurant.
This is the place to go for if you want to have tasty Indian food , specially non-veg. Decent seating. Table service can be improved. This all is overcome by fact that they serve real great taste food. I love their rotis. Their Murgh Tikka Lahori is highly recommend.
Great pakstani/Indian food but damn they need to clean and beryani used to be good not anymore also the guy on counter always gets on my nerves every single time always on the phone and no costumer service at all and unfortunately this is all indian and Pakistani restaurants
Great quality food! Tasty and authentic! Only minus is atmosphere and bathrooms are not clean at Dublin center. One of best restaurant in bay area
For food review you can read my review for the Fremont branch. I had no idea that Shalimar has a new branch here in Dublin but I'm always glad when my favorite restaurants are doing well. They closed down a couple of branches so I'm glad they opened one here even though it's kinda far for me. It's a standalone building with its own parking spots and instead of giving you a stand with a number all the seating areas are labeled with numbers. The restaurant is not small but probably best suited for party less than 6. The chicken is still phenomenal and everything tastes the same as the one in Fremont which basically means wonderfully delicious. Just order the chicken legs if this is your first time. Otherwise you'll know what to order.
For my friend who needs to get some non veg tandoori briyani we went to Shalimar restaurant which is excellent for non-veg lovers, naan and chicken 🍗🐔🍗 fry. Romali naan roti 🍛 curry briyani both meat 🍗🐔 and 🐐🐐 unlimited tea is here avaliable for customer. Soft drinks rose milk lassi 😍😋 lassi with different flavours. I recommend it
This is a good spot for South Asian food in the area. The portions are very generous and the taste is 7/10 (prefer Pakwan or Zareens). I would recommend either the beef nehari or the chicken karahi with some naan (I'd give the naan 8/10). They also offer free chai which is great. Do not come here if you're looking for a great atmosphere or service. It's largely a hole in the wall, self-service type of restaurant. On a positive note, the wait is non-existent to be seated and food comes out fast.
I was very disappointed with my visit. The restaurant had poor hygiene — tables and chairs were dirty and didn’t feel clean enough to sit on comfortably. For a restaurant, cleanliness should be a top priority, but it clearly wasn’t here. The food was below average and didn’t meet expectations. The Chicken Tikka Masala tasted more like Chicken Qorma, and the Biryani lacked the authentic flavor and aroma you’d expect. The Brain Masala was just average at best. Considering the high prices, the experience was not worth the cost. When you’re paying that much, you expect at least decent hygiene and authentic-tasting dishes. Unfortunately, this restaurant failed on both fronts
One of the best kebab and tandoori I've had in a very long time. We also ordered some gravy that weren't very tasty compared to their tandoori appetizers. Even portion size of their entrees are very small compare to their price. I was very surprised by their size of naan and kulcha. They were extremely large portions for about $2. I would prefer to get take away next time than dining.
Came here for lunch on weekday. Ordered 2 chicken tikka masala portions. The portions were ridiculously small, only 4 very very small chicken pieces for $15.99 a portion. Of course Naans always are extra.....simply rip off. The ambiance and cleaniess was mediocre, but that was expected from a hole in the wall and location.
Did not like a food - tikka was so raw like they clean it with water . Kabab has no taste and naan was not close to Tandoori Rooti. On the top the attitude was not at good - no happy welcoming smile. They need to invest and make place nice so people can enjoy seating . No salad just onion and those are also very strong .
They charged me for an item and did not provide it. When I called to clarify, I was met with a very disrespectful and unprofessional attitude. Simply asking whether I could dine in instead of getting the order to go resulted in being yelled at, which is completely unacceptable.Customer service and respect are essential in any business, and unfortunately, both were completely lacking here. Cleanliness was extremely disappointing, and the level of hospitality was nonexistent. It is concerning to see such poor standards in a place that serves the public. To the owner: please understand that a business cannot survive without its customers. Respect and basic courtesy should be the bare minimum. Customers should feel welcomed and valued not disrespected.I strongly advise others to avoid this place and go somewhere else where you will be treated with respect and actually feel welcome. Women in particular are not treated respectfully, which is deeply concerning.Due to this experience, I will be reporting this matter to the health department, as both the service and cleanliness raise serious concerns.
I had a very bad experience at Shalimar Restaurant in Dublin. The place was extremely dirty, especially the bathrooms and the dining areas where people sit and eat. Cleanliness is very important in a restaurant, and this was unacceptable. The owner was also very unprofessional. I really hope the health department inspects this place because it did not feel safe or sanitary at all. I will not be coming back.
The food we ordered had a strong gas-like smell and taste, completely inedible and honestly alarming. When we brought our concerns to the owner, instead of taking it seriously, he was extremely rude and dismissive. No apology, no accountability, just attitude. This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere that actually cares about the safety and satisfaction of their customers.
Ordered chicken haleem, tandoori chicken and chicken kabab. Expecting to have same taste but it was a worst order. Never again going to this place. Chicken haleem is a joke it's just lentil soup no flavor no taste. Tandoori chicken was smelling. Kabab had no flavor. Had to trash everything. very disappointed.
Man once again another Indian place, this time on a hot day there air conditioner is not working, so many people can’t even eat food in peace. People here are sweating and having a hard time eating food right now. I asked for ice, they said we don’t have no ice. How are this Indian restaurant working and serving people. Also this place tables, floor, has a dirty look. I think this is going to be my last time here. Don’t recommend people coming here. If the place was good I would have referred it but this one is a no no!
