Had a big group of 15 for my Stag Do in mid February, the food was amazing and the service was top notch. Anything we needed was taken care of and it was a great start to our weekend!
The food was delicious, and there are a wide variety of dishes. I tried the Lamb Bind Ghost which I really enjoyed. The service was brilliant, very friendly, and prompt. We went here on Valentine’s Day and it was very busy but this did not phase the staff one bit, they were excellent. Really pleasant experience, I will definitely go back to Katmandu Kitchen!
Had a really nice dinner with a large group of friends. We've tried this place through the food delivery platform before, so having a proper sit down meal did not disappoint. Food was spectacular, service was great throughout the entire evening, will most definitely come back soon!
This is the best Indian/Nepali restaurant in Dublin, and my absolute favourite. The staff is amazing: friendly, helpful and fast, and the interior decoration is atmospheric and comforting. The restaurant feels both classy and casual, making for a great experience dining in. Get started with some poppadoms before falling in love with one of the many choices on the menu. Having tasted my fair share of what it has to offer, I can say that everything is fantastic and packed with flavours. My top dishes are the Himalayan Curry, Madras curry and the chickpea curry, with a side of garlic naan and lemon&cumin rice. And there's no way I'm not having a lassi while eating here. What's best though: Most if not all curries can be made fully vegetarian, so if there's a chicken curry that sounds good, you can just substitute the meat for veggies! Truly a dream come true. I find myself coming back regularly, so do yourself a favour and treat yourself to some of the Indian or Nepali delights Kathmandu has to offer!
I cannot recommendations this place enough. Very kind staff- We showed up, a party of 6 tourists with no reservation, and were seated swiftly. We started with their delightful cocktails followed by several courses of food. Everything was delicious!! They offered excellent wine recommendations to both me and my mom, and gave us the option of a taste. We came away with leftovers that got vacuumed up within a day. We were there for a very long time, but even as they filled up we never felt rushed. If I am ever in Dubin again I will certainly be back!
I had the pleasure of dining at Kathmandu Kitchen, and it was an unforgettable experience! The dishes were absolutely phenomenal—with authentic flavours and spices that were perfectly balanced. The service was just as impressive as the food. The staff was incredibly warm, attentive, and knowledgeable, making excellent recommendations that suited our preferences. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and cared for. Standout dishes for me were the chicken saffron malai tikka, which was creamy and rich, and KTM mix, which were delicate and flavourful. Also the Himalayan Chicken was delightful and the naan was perfectly soft inside and crispy outside, and every side dish complemented the meal beautifully. Whether you're familiar with Indian and Nepalese cuisine or trying it for the first time, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. Great food, fantastic service, and an inviting atmosphere—I can't wait to come back!
The manager Amit was soo kind and offered us to taste new drinks. He also managed to get me vegetarian food as I asked for a specific dish. I would undoubtedly recommend everyone to experience this wonderful restaurant and their warmth service as well.
One of the best restaurants in Dublin! Exceptional food for the price. Service is 5 star. The management of this restaurant is the best I've ever seen. Please check this place out! Can't wait to come back the next time I visit!
Very delicious food with wonderful Indian flavors. I enjoyed the butter chicken and the korma chicken with lemon and cumin rice and cheese naan. Food was served hot which i appreciated on a cold rainy day in Ireland. But to be honest the most memorable part of this dinner was the wonderful service I received. At least three different staff members came to the table to check on me. They gave me everything i needed and made me feel welcomed to enjoy a relaxing meal. I would recommend that if you’re reading this, you stop reading now and start heading toward the restaurant! You won’t be disappointed. 9/10
We were looking for something different to the normal Irish fare and we are so happy to stumble into this nice looking restaurant. We not only love the ambience but also the food which was so good! And we had the lunch set menu so it was really worth the price for what's normal in Dublin. I recommend Aloo Chaap, Saffron Malai Tikka, Lamb madras & Rogan Josh. Along with friendly service, overall very satisfied!!
I going to say you have to try it . food was fantastic ill go out on a limb and and say probably the best I've had in a long time . We were there for 4pm it wasn't busy but come 5 it was packed out so id recommend getting there early. The only problem we had was my wife got the wrong starter but the manager sorted it out very quickly over all it was a lovely experience. We will be back for sure 😊.
Today we had the pleasure of dining at Kathmandu Kitchen, and I was thoroughly impressed. The restaurant offers a wide variety of authentic Nepalese and Indian dishes. The moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and attentive service. The atmosphere was relaxed, making it the perfect setting for a casual meal with the family. We started our meal with chicken Mo Mos, which were absolutely delicious. The dumplings were perfectly steamed and flavorsome. For our main course, we ordered Chicken Korma and sizzling seafood curry. Each dish was flavorful and well-presented. The portions were very generous compared to other Nepalese and Indian restaurants, and we left feeling completely satisfied. The service at Kathmandu Kitchen was exceptional. They were very attentive, and always happy when walking by. The restaurant also offers a good selection of wines and drinks. Overall, I highly recommend Kathmandu Kitchen. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is inviting. Whether you're looking for a casual lunch or a special occasion dinner, Kathmandu Kitchen is sure to please.
We had an amazing dinner here – both the Madras and Vindaloo were full of flavor and perfectly spiced. The service was excellent. Highly recommend!
I’ve been there two times and the food was amazing. Sushi is fresh, the beef is delicious. The noodle for ramen is something could be improved but overall ramen is good.
Delicious food and amazing service. This place has some of the most attentive servers we've got so far in Dublin. We got the delicious spicy prawn vindaloo curry, lemon rice and delicious naans, also, chocolat brownie. Everything was really tasty.
By far one of the best restaurants in Dublin! Thoroughly enjoyed every course. Momos were fingerlickin good. The Mixed platter was Great. Even Garlic Naan was authentic and delicious. Must Try: Coconut Givre(dessert) Totally an amazing experience. Totally satisfied ✨
We had the chicken madras and lamb Himalayan curry and both were delicious. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere is really relaxed and the cocktails were lovely also! 10/10
We really enjoyed our dinner here. The food was great and service was very attentive. They even gave us complimentary appetizers and a shot of Bailey's at the end.
They have good food and many options in vegetarian food also. This and Diwali restaurant i suppose have same owner. There is also another restaurant montys katmandu near this. I like this one more. Their dal/ lenitls are amazing and one must order their dal tadka and egg rice it is one of my favorite food combination 😀
On a day trip to Dublin, for lunch, we went there to eat momo and it was brilliant. As a Nepalese person, I am not easy to impress when it comes to mo:mo. I have tried multiple places around Europe. This one has to be one of the best. Cant speak for everything but certainly very good mo:mo
I had an amazing dining experience at Kathmandu Kitchen. The flavors of the dishes were authentic and rich, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is cozy and perfect for a relaxed meal in the heart of Dublin. Highly recommended for anyone craving Indian and Nepalese cuisine!
What a fabulous place. Exceptional customer service, staff were massively attentive and super friendly. Food was lush, plentiful and super tasty. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit and will definitely be back. Thank you so much.
What to do when walking in the big streets in Dublin? Well, like Indian food? Please do try the Kathmandu Kitchen. I'm from Norway and i do like to go to Indian restaurants. Felt like I would try it in Irland. And my god, either this is like a standard in Irland, of not, they made me THE best dinner I can remember. Ordered the "Garlic Chilli Masala" and was truly and deeply amazed. If Iwould give one reason to go back to Dublin, it would be this meal. Thank your, chef.
The food was amazing! The staff super friendly and just such a lovely experience. Totally recommend if you like Indian/Nepalese food.
Came here for a weekend trip to Dublin with some friend’s who recommended this place. It was absolutely incredible, service was divine from Fadil and Amit and the food was great!! Definitely wish to come back here again next time I’m in Dublin!
Well organized and ambience was okay... Started with steamed MoMos... Taste was okay and felt it was a bit overpriced with that quantity.. For main course ordered K.K Mixed sizzler and veg fried rice... Enjoyed the flavors of chicken and meat.. perfectly cooked and aroma was good.. 🤤 Finally had mango lassi which was sweet and cooled the meal... 🤩
All food items were palatable. The Mango Lassi was delicious. Didn't enjoy the Chicken biryani much. Good options on the menu for lunch and dinner, affordable combo menus. The staffs were very professional and the service was swift. The restaurant including washrooms were neatly maintained.
Located in the heart of Dublin city, this is one of the few handful of Indian fine dining restaurants operating that is mainly focused on the bustling tourists. For a first timer roaming around the city after days of work and conti food, this was a breath of fresh air to indulge in some masala and spices. However the mutton biriyani I ordered, inspite of filling me up quite sufficiently didn't have much Indian roots or any other neighbouring nations I could relate to. The service was decent and vibe was fantastic and they do have a variety of dishes to choose from
They were able to accomodate us without a reservation on a Saturday night, which was great given the restaurant was packed and booked. It gets noisy and crowded. The food is good. They were out of chicken momos which was the main reason we wanted to dine at a nepalese restaurant. Our favourite was the lamb seekh kebab and the fresh keema and GOC naans were excellent! We ordered the tendoori mixed grill which comes with potato curry sauce on the side. The tandoori chicken was okay. A bit hard. They should use dark meat instead of breast meat. We also ordered a lamb dish which was average. The staff is nice. They got us some shots after dinner which tasted like after-mints. It was nice.
Vegetable samosa chat, Everest chana masala, garlic chilly masala, goc naan, basmati pilau rice were delicious! However, pretty pricey for the small portion size.
Gorgeous and delicious dishes, very colourful menu. I had the lamb Nepalese Saag with a mango lassi, all was melt-in-your-mouth and oh so satisfying.
The place is alright. Food was good but the whole dining experience was below average. Waitstaff were chaotic with only one waitress taking orders and payments and the others just standing around. Regular customers were given a lot of attention while others were ignored. Tables are close to each other and moving around was difficult - I had my chair kicked a few times. Asked for proper spicy food and it had a decent kick.
During my Europe tour, I visited a Nepali restaurant in Dublin today, eager to taste the flavors of home. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing, with the server displaying rudeness. As a customer, I believe it's crucial for businesses to prioritize customer satisfaction. I suggest the owner invests in training their staff for a better dining experience. I usually don’t give less than 4-5 star but this time, I truly wanted to give one star but didn't want to ruin the business as it's not the employer's fault. So I am giving 3 star, hoping that they will improve it without a moment delay. Again for reminder! truly Disappointed with the service. The server was unfriendly and rude. He must learn about customer service. Without customers, his employer can't survive, and if the employer can't survive, he can no longer afford him. So, he needs to understand this fact. But overall, the food was okay but horrible service.
The Katmandu kitchen serve some of the delicious food. Their starters were the best. Few of my personal favourites are tempura prawns, paneer tikka, butterfly prawns and creamy chicken. Their biryanis can’t be categorised as authentic biryani but a fusion of flavours to suite to various palates. Also, the price point for biryanis are quite high and we ordered three types of biryanis but the base flavour is similar. The ambiance and service is top notch with quick service. Suits of family gatherings and friends meet-up. They do serve few cocktails at the bar but haven’t got an opportunity to try them. Overall, a best place to taste some delicious starters, desserts and some north-India style of mains.
Food was amazingly good , very delicious . As for the atmosphere too loud need to yell at each other and we were a group of 5 which made it not very convenient. When food arrived wasnt even sure i got the right order due to over loud background noise (talking from over customers + over loud music bad combo) at least music you can ontrol the volume which they didn't done.
The food was really tasty! I had their lunch special, which included both a starter and a main. However, my starter ended up being much more filling than my main. In terms of presentation, the main was great. Although, I quickly came to realise that it was mainly sauce. 5 small pieces of meat in a chicken korma is a bit ridiculous, even if it did taste great. I understand that this may be due to it being part of a lunch menu, but it is simply deceptive to call it a main course when the portion was so small. I was left feeling hungry & used the naan bread to fill me up instead.
Starters were good, I tried the butter chicken overall food is ok however the service is super slow. Washrooms are not so clean unfortunately. For the price point, I didn’t leave impressed.
First visit as a tourist. Seated directly without booking. Took away drinks menu when we ordered tap water. Didn't ask us for another drink order for ages. We had to ask them. Naans arrived first before curries, so asked for fresh ones after curries arrived. Complimentary poppadoms and yummy chutneys. Nepalese chicken curry, dhaal and Pilau rice were all tasty. They gave us the wrong salad so halfway through our meal they took it away and replaced it with the correct one.
We visited Kathmandu Kitchen in Dublin the other night with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience left us quite disappointed. For starters we ordered the Kathmandu Mix for one and the onion bhaji. The onion bhaji was the nicest of the starters, it was crispy and flavorful. However, the rest was mid. The barbecue chicken malai tikka just tasted cheesy (?) with no tikka spice or depth. The sheekh kebab was rubbery and hard to chew and honestly resembled more of a sausage, and again the samosa lacked the punch of flavour we’ve enjoyed at other places. Then for mains we had the butter chicken (and requested it be made medium spicy) and prawn crunchy jalfrezi. The butter chicken was just about passable, but it was bland and lacked the rich flavour that makes it a go-to dish for us wherever we go. Increasing the spice level is what gave it any depth, but only barely brought it to life. The jalfrezi was more like a “hot and sour” dish and unpleasant to eat. The prawns didn’t have the crispness or seasoning we expected and we only had about 2 spoons of it altogether. We also ordered roti, which we hoped would be soft and pliable, but instead it was quite tough and dry and more like a disappointing naan than a good roti. The service was good. Our order was taken and served quickly and the staff checked in on us throughout the meal. We regret not voicing our concerns then, but we’re not usually ones to complain (that’s on us though). Unfortunately by the end of the meal, we just felt sad and let down as the meal didn’t meet even modest expectations.
As the other reviews mention, Kathmandu Kitchen has edible food and terrible service to go with it. We entered the restaurant and asked if they had a table for us, and the waiter slammed the door in our face as he went to check. Once we were seated, we had to wait over 15 minutes for the waiter to come to our table to take our order, while he was busy taking the orders of other guests who arrived after us. We ordered a set of dumplings, and some BBQ starters, which tasted decent. The papadums were stale, and the portions were small. When the food arrived, the dishes were slammed on our table as if the waiter was in a hurry. Overall, the only thing we enjoyed was the momos and the chicken sizzler. I don’t think I will come back here, primarily because of the bad service.
Friendly staff but not great food, went there to try the Famous Nepali Momos after living in Dublin for 2 years of eating the frozen Momos from the Chinese shop with Chingz shezwan chutney. To be honest the Momos from the Chinese shop are way better. Also I know they cater to the European clientele but honestly the food was not great at all. Service wise excellent we reached late, they staff were very accommodating and also helped us get the Famous Momos when we entered almost late before the kitchen closed. Service was great but won’t be visiting again.
I recently dined at Kathmandu restaurant and was thoroughly disappointed with the experience. The food quality was far below my expectations. First, the popadoms were not fresh at all, very bland and stale & chewy which they are not meant to be. same with sauces provided. Also in the mint sauce there was onion or something else buried - they must have reused the sauces from another table they provided me Ordered Mixed grill for starters. The seekh kebab was dry and zero flavor, the pakora was hard and tasted like it was left under a heat lamp. The chicken “tandoori” was hard and rubbery and freezing. The mo-mo’s as I was told by waiter I will have to wait 15-20 mins because made fresh, this was a even bigger disaster then the mixed grill starter I shared with my girlfriend. Mo-mo’s are always going to be ordered if available on the menu if visiting Indian restaurant. First one was hot and tasted fresh out of steamer. Tasted excellent, But every other one after that was terrible, some were slightly warm, some ice cold. And the filling almost non existent. Bland. Even the inside filling was cold. The sauce they provided inside for dipping tasted like it came fresh out of supermarket jar cold like it came out of fridge very bland no flavor. Ordered Garlic chilli masala extra hot, my girlfriend is Indian and spoke to waiter about making it hot and was told it will come “not western style” so we were looking forward to that. Unfortunately it came mild no where near the level as suggested on the menu with 3 chilli’s. & with talking to waiter to make sure it came as ordered. The sauce lacked any depth of flavor, and the duck pieces were dry and overcooked. It tasted as if the spices had been added as an afterthought. Lots of meat I will admit. Tender, soft to touch very nice. BUT the flavor doesn’t hold up. Ordered a lamb biryani, firstly over 24€? For that Major disappointment. The rice was mushy, and the vegetables were undercooked. It felt like the dish had been hastily thrown together without any consideration for texture or taste. Zero taste about it. Nothing original about it, it also came out COLD. There is a theme to this restaurant cold dishes, serving on hot plates. The restaurant wasn’t even busy or full in the slightest so I cannot understand how this can happened. As service was slow. I have zero issues about waiting but when charging premium prices for cold food, that’s an issue. The Keama bread was equally disappointing, arriving at our table cold and chewy, as though it had been sitting out for a while. The ambiance of the restaurant did little to make up for the culinary experience, uncomfortably noisy with music sometimes playing the same song over and over. Overall, Kathmandu failed to deliver on multiple fronts, I have eaten in many Indian / Nepalese restaurants but very bad experience here. I cannot recommend this place to anyone looking for an enjoyable Indian / Nepalese dining experience. Avoid it is what I would suggest, Tables are jammed close together. Spent over 126€ and this is the caliber of food you receive. With two glasses of wine. Wine is served cold which is a nice touch’ Save your time and money and turn around walk 3 mins to Diwali Indian restaurant. The reviews speaks for itself.
This place is not for Indians for sure. They gave tomato tawa pulav instead of chicken biryani. On top they have capsicums in biryani, expensive and not worth at all. Was really excited for crunchy prawn curry and it was again tomato base curry with no good taste. Paid €75 for disappointing food.
