Stopped by Yaks on the 5 at the recommendation of a coworker that stopped by recently & was raving about the burgers and sticky buns. Being the foodie I am, I couldn’t pass up a hidden gem. Easily accessible right off i5 south. The staff and atmosphere was so lively couldn’t help but put a smile on your face. The burgers are massive and fully loaded, I was so puzzled how to even start eating it. Loved all the toppings on my Blue Steel. Realistically I could only eat half and the rest was boxed up. And taking a sticky bun for the road!

This is a great spot both times I’ve come here there has been great service and hospitality. Normally I’m not a burger guy but this is the best burger I have ever had and both times I’ve come I drove for more than a hour to have these burgers 20/10 experience it’s well worth it to give this place a visit and eat. :)

We ate at Yak’s and, once again, it did not disappoint. I had the BBQ Bob’s Burger with tots, plus the sticky bun and fries… and I honestly can’t say enough about how good the food was. The burger was absolutely massive and hands-down one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Everything was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. The ambiance is just as great as the food — warm, fun, and a place you immediately feel comfortable in. This has become a yearly tradition for us when we come visit our daughter and son-in-law to get our Christmas tree, and Yak’s is always a highlight of the trip. If you’re anywhere near the area — or even just driving through — this place is a must-stop. We’ll be back again next year without a doubt.

This is a little place we found up in Northern California near Dunsmir. It's easy to find cuz it's right off of I-5. Excellent, friendly service & AMAZING burgers! If u love a great burger & traveling up this way u have got to give this place a try. 😊

Wow, what a great surprise. This place was. We ordered the come to Jesus burger which is amazing. The OMG another fantastic burger. Both kinds of pastrami burgers. Everything was simply a flavor bomb. Pastrami is clearly fresh and some of the best I’ve had in a long time. Even the regular fries were amazing. Don’t forget the cinnamon rolls. I’ll be back when we come back up in the area Expect to wait in line for your order, but the food comes out fairly quick once you ordered

The food is phenomenal. Highly recommend their sticky buns, burgers, and fries! The sticky buns are absolutely heavenly, and they are the perfect warm treats for a cold day. We got one just to try what it tastes like and ended up packing two more to go. We also ordered a OMG burger and smoked pork ribs. The burger is a flavour bomb with all the components working in harmony. It's a huge burger and a great guilty pleasure. Smoked pork ribs are fall off the bone tender, but the sauce is a bit too tangy for us. The fries on the side is super fresh and fluffy.

Walking up to the restaurant, the smell alone is enough to reel you in. The second you step inside, the sticky buns will catch your belly’s eye. Good luck picking a burger— I went with the OMG!, Cilantro Bomb, but I was seriously torn between the This Little Piggy Never Went Home, and the Come to Jesus. And the OMG! really does live up to its name. It’s messy in the best way and honestly one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Don’t skip their housemade lavender ketchup… I literally came back a year and a half later just for that. I’d happily drive the hour and a half from Ashland to eat here again anytime. Great atmosphere, awesome craft beer selection, the wonderful personality of Mr. Mike behind the counter— not a single complaint from me.

Little slice of heaven off the 5 freeway. We were greeted by a friendly face right when we walked in and she made us feel at home. Gave us a quick 10 second quiz to find our perfect burger. The restaurant isn’t just a place to eat but an experience with fun ordering names, kids games, and hop scotch. Vegetarian friendly and hungry boyfriend friendly too. :)

If you’re debating on stopping here or not- DO IT! you’re hungry, you passed all the raising canes and in-n-out burgers and the passengers are getting restless. This is a foodie oasis- LITERALLY the best garlic fries I’ve ever had!! Burgers are really that big and delicious as they look. Great beer selection.

Heard about this place from a couple locals and definitely had to check it out! The burgers were over the top and you definitely have to try the scott’s tots. It had so much flavor and was pretty sweet too which was definitely a treat! The service and atmosphere was great!! Everyone here is so nice. Will come back soon!!!

Such a fun and friendly place!!! Definitely a must stop when in the area. Both burgers were delicious but the Arnold alpha was bomb especially if you want a lot of meat!

We were in town to see the different watwrfalls in the area. And this is along our route, this is just a 3 minute drive from the Hedgecreek parking lot. They have parking at the back. I love the ambience, it haa fun and vibramt atmosphere. My daughter loved the toys on the wall. Service was amazing, they are very friendly, we met Adam and he was great. We ordered the Arnold Alpha with a side of garlic parmesan fries and their smoked wings. They bave a unique way of calling us when the food is ready. Food arrived fast, burgers were juicy and servings were big. They were delicious. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

Franks is really really special. First, it’s very American. You’ll find the probably the most amazing American style burger you gonna get for a long time. But, at the same time you’ll be amazed by the innovations you’ll probably never find around. Take the Cilantro Bomb (a burger) as an example, when have you ever heard of a combination like this where you have the most American burger but with nothing but Cilantro on the top. It probably sounds stupid, but it tastes like a heaven. The ribs, for another example, it’s very very American (maybe Texas) style, but you will find green onion on it. And once again, it tastes amazing. Yeah, just go there, enjoy your time, it’s that good.

Disclaimer: I was offered a free sticky bun to write this review, but their food is so good I would have written it anyway. My husband and I shared the OMG! Burger and Scott's Tots. This is easily one of the top 5 best burgers I've ever had. They have tons of unique toppings and I loved the marmalade/cream cheese/jalapeno popper combo. The tots were the best tots I've ever had. The brown sugar cajun rub on them is incredible on its own. The toppings make them even better. They were super friendly and the picnic tables out back were a great place to enjoy our meal. If you're in the area, you need to stop by. I'd drive out of my way just to come back again.

It’s almost embarrassing. I’ve never eaten at a yak before. Never heard of it before. Drove out from Texas and saw the good reviews. Figured a better try. Oh my God, If Texas had places like this, everybody would be even bigger than the size of Texas. I feel like I lost my virginity or something. I lived in Northern California for 30 years plus and my friend told me about this place, but it never quite stuck cause I’m not real big on meat… Not all the time anyway. I don’t know what y’all are doing to those onion ring things with the tasty spicy sauce on the hamburgers, but I’m gonna find a way to replicate that stuff … That was over the top. And I appreciate the young Cook boy who smiled at me so sweetly on the way out the door Very grateful for the hospitality the fun… You guys are so fun, and the clear effort put into a good experience in every way thank you so very much. I have a crush on y’all

Delicious!!! Super friendly staff! Amazing hip atmosphere with cool music! Hippie vibes! My friend got “the Picnic”, which he said meat was perfectly cooked. We got the home cut fries with homemade ketchup. And I got the Castle Crags Pastrami! Super delicious!!! The bread was incredible. Incredible location, and cool hip vibe!!

Great place - highly recommend! The atmosphere is awesome, the food is delicious, and the service is impressively fast. Some of the burgers are pretty tall, so be prepared for a fun (and slightly messy) challenge to eat them 😄 Andy took our order and was incredibly friendly, just a pleasure to interact with. Stopped while I was passing through and got a carryout. I couldn't decide if I wanted a Come to Jesus or a More Than Just a Peanut Butter Burger so I got both and an order of Garlic Parmesan fries. Also a Root beer and a sticky bun. The burgers were amazing. I made 3 meals out of them. Fries are good. Root Beer was not my favorite. The sticky bun was ok. I'd definitely stop again for a burger. Yummy!!!
