Opinions de Roll House El Camino Real
Although it took 40min for them to prepare two takeout dishes (fried shrimp roll and soon tofu), the food is amazing! Loved the Fried Shrimp Roll!!! Highly highly recommend the fried shrimp rolllll!!! Best Korean style sushi roll I’ve ever had! The rice layer is thin and the stuffing is very generous, fresh, and tasty. :)))
Much better than any other kimbap I've had in the bay area or even Seoul. Good flavor, not too much rice, rolls stay intact, side dishes are great. Best rolls: tuna, spicy pork, spam.
Had dinner with the family here. We unknowingly came in about ~20 minutes before closing, but the staff were still kind, patient, attentive, and provided excellent service. Thank you! We ordered 2 dolsot bibimbaps (served on sizzling stone plates), a regular bibimbap, and mandu guk (dumpling soup.) Everything was delicious, and we really enjoyed our meal. Highly recommended.
Oh my this place is so freaking good. The kimchi is one of the best things I’ve tried( I’ve never had any before) and the portions are big and worth the price in my opinion. It does cost quite a bit tho but the food is amazing
Small place but usually busy during meal times. Food is pretty slow during the rush time but the servers are always attentive and refreshing your side dishes frequently. All items come with soup and 4 side dishes. I always get rolls when I go there and the rolls are massive! Prices are sorta expensive but you definitely get two meals and tons of side dishes. Highly recommend
Love the comfort food here. I usually just get japchae and Kimbap for lunch takeout. The rolls are fresh and very large. We get the beef one and all the flavors come together nicely. The japchae is packed with flavor and has a good proportion of all ingredients. Takeout is always ready on time. Highly recommend!
Overall good foods and great service! I like the restaurant atmosphere here. Very comfortable and clean. We ordered at lot since I’m very hungry. But the price is very reasonable here.
Pretty good food when you are craving korean street food. Kimbap rolls are huge and tuna kimbap is good. The spicy rice cake is pretty decent too. They need more waiters tho cuz there was only one and she looks frazzled. Who knew roll house has food other than rolls? And good too! Gotta try the other foods
We had a great meal here! Small little place but packed with goodness! We were greeted and sat down quickly. The staff was so friendly and attentive. We ordered the seafood pancake, beef and tuna rolls, and spicy squid plate! Everything was delicious and came out fresh and hot! We are so full! We plan to tell our friends to come here and we'll be sure to be back again. Love it!
Lately, I've been hit with a sudden wave of nostalgia for the amazing seaweed-wrapped rice rolls that my best friend from junior high school used to bring. Her mom had that special touch! So, in my quest to soothe my cravings, I embarked on a Roll House adventure. Ah, the memories of those days when I'd exchange my crispy fried chicken with Heewon for her mom's delectable seaweed-wrapped rice rolls. We had our own secret exchange, savoring each other's meals. This time around, I stumbled upon a pretty cool seaweed-wrapped rice roll joint in Santa Clara. 📍 Location: 3486 El Camino Real, Santa Clara 🍙 What I ordered: ▫️ Half Tuna half beef Roll: Now, personally, I found the tuna more delightful than the beef, but I must say, it lacked that delightful sesame oil kick. Not quite perfection, but it certainly did the trick in satisfying my craving. ▫️ Shortribs with rice: This one's quite satisfying, a hearty portion, and the beef has a slightly sweet flair. ▫️ Tofu Seafood Soup: Whenever I dive into Korean cuisine, I make it a point to indulge in some soup action! And let me tell you, their soup game is definitely on point.
Came twice for dinner with friends. Really like it. The portions are large. Seemed fresh and tasty. Was recommended to us.
Really loved this place. Quick service. Had beef kimbap and tofu soup. I should say the food was amazing. I came in the evening and the store was fairly busy. There were only two people who did the serving and the cooking. The kimbap was great. They were big portions. One of the best kimbap in the Bay Area. The tofu soup was amazing as well. Came with a serving of rice. It’s a small store for small parties. Highly recommend this place for the kimbap. The banchang was amazing. The fish cake was a little too hard in my opinion. Kimchi was great.
Roll House is pretty much the epitome of "bun shik" (Korean comfort food) here in the Bay Area. It typically goes with a series of gimbap (rolls), a selection of noodles, spicy rice cake, and a few meat dishes. Roll House covers all bases. As with the development of frozen food, many of these comfort food items are available in Korean supermarkets in the frozen isle. And largely they all miss the point around home-style cooking that is critical to bring out these flavors. Roll House does it right. Everything, although not perfect, comes across authentic and you can feel that effort has been put to not just microwave frozen food on a restaurant plate. Everything tastes hand made from scratch. The restaurant is not meant to be fancy or even pretend to be proper sit-down restaurant. You don't go here on a date or special occasion. You go here because you crave for some good Korean food. I've been visiting Roll House for over a decade now and so glad they've made it through the pandemic.
Visit Roll House if you are caving for some good and authentic Korean food tofu soup the soup comes with a lot of tofu, mushroom and beef (can choose seafood instead) mild is not too spicy beef roll seaweed rice rolls filled with beef the size of the roll is big feel satisfied when eating it
Korean restaurant that specializes in kimbap but have other dishes such as bibimbap, tteokbokki and tofu spup. There aren't too many places that sell good kimbap anywhere so it was nice to find one in Santa Clara. The restaurant is small but very cozy and the staff are super nice. Your meal comes with 4 side dishes, a soup, and tea. Can't wait to come here again to try some new rolls! Fried shrimp roll ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: made super fresh. The fried shrimp was still crispy and hot in the kimbap. Whatever sauce they use inside is super delicious. This is a must get in my opinion. Beef roll ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: very solid beef roll that is overshadowed by the fried shrimp roll in my opinion. Overall still very decicious.

If you want to feel like you’re in Korea or how Korean students on a budget eat, try Roll House. Their kimbap is on point and I love the variety. I also love their pizza dokpokki which is a Korean fusion dish of rice cakes, ramen and cheese, with other various toppings on it.

hands down my favorite kimbap spot in the Bay Area. It’s truly on par with what I’ve had in Seoul, and the vibe feels exactly like a local neighborhood restaurant in Korea.
This is no doubt the best Korean rice roll you can find in South Bay. Other dishes are good but not as memorable. I would skip Japchae as it is on the saltier side. Took off one star because their service is terrible. The waitress seems unhappy all the time. They don’t welcome small kids unless they can sit and eat like adults. You cannot wait inside for take out if you have small kids with you.
Great food, best Kimbap, everything is just really tasty and they serve great sides, quick service, flexible with the orders
Roll House is my go-to spot for Korean street food. I’ve been a regular customer for over ten years, and during that time, I’ve seen many staff members come and go. What started as a place primarily catering to Korean customers has now become a popular destination for people of all backgrounds who want to experience authentic Korean street food. During the pandemic, I genuinely hoped this place would survive, and thankfully, it did. What has remained unchanged is the consistent taste and generous portions. The food can take a bit longer to arrive when it’s busy, but the quality and flavor always make it worth the wait. One of the best things about Roll House is that no matter what you order, it’s guaranteed to be delicious and filling. If you're looking for comforting, home-style Korean food that feels like a taste of home, this is the place to go.
I’ve been here a few times and I think it is pretty good. I really enjoy the rice rolls. The tea was very cooling especially on a hot summer day. Service was quick and they played Korean reality tv shows which was quite entertaining. A really cute atmosphere. I would come back again if I was in the area.
I wasn't hungry after eating dessert first, but I stopped by after a long time because I didn't want to eat dinner too late. I ordered banquet noodles and Chungmu gimbap, but the gimbap was delicious, but I was careful because the squid was hardly cooked. I think this part would be good if it was improved. The Noodles was super large that we had no choice but to leave it behind. We expected general feast noodles, but we couldn't eat them right away because they were served very hot. That part was very impressive.
Food was great! We ordered the Zol Men + Dumpling Combo, Spicy Ramen + Veg Roll Combo, and the Shrimp Roll. The Zol Men was a cold, chewy, and spicy noodle dish server with veggies, dumplings, and half an egg. The sauce was sweet and spicy which tasted good but I prefer a savory sauce. Something I was disappointed about in this dish was that the dumplings that came with the Zol Men were only filled with plain noodles rather than meat or vegetables. Although the exterior of the dumpling was crispy and seasoned, the inside was lacking in flavor and variety of texture. The Ramen had a mild spice but tasted spicier because of the temperature of the dish. The veggie rolls were big and came in a perfect amount for one person. I liked that the veggie roll had lots of filling and not too much rice. The shrimp roll was yummy! The roll was large as well as crispy and creamy. The service was good and the servers were attentive. The restaurant itself was small but fit a good amount of people. And they try to seat people a couple feet apart.
A very generous size portions with tasteful ingredients. Service is was great
It’s a small and clean Korean family restaurant. I see many Koreans dine in and many ordered rolls for takeout. I do recommend if you want affordable and quality Korean food.
Dined in at Roll House today and it does not disappoint! It's called roll house for a reason because their rolls we amazing! So fresh and perfectly seasoned. The rolls were also huge (as seen in the picture) and there were tons of options. We tried the half and half and did a split of the spicy pork and veggie roll. I liked the veggie roll better because the seasoning on the pork one made the pork not taste like pork? We also ordered the spicy cheese tteokbokki with dumplings and blood sausage, as well as the beef short rib with rice and vegetables on the sizzling plate. The ribs were sooooo tender and flavourfull, but had a little too much cartilage on them. Portions here are huge but makes sense considering the price. Will definitely be back to try more rolls!

I got a combination tofu soup for dinner here. The broth isn't as flavorful as the one at Tofu House but the price is cheaper.
Over all, the food is delicious! Specially recommended T10. Rose Tuk Bok Gi(로제떡볶이). But have to say the services just so so, I look up the google reviews most are complaining the services, I can see the owners did hired new server to get better, so we will definitely comeback! And, Highly suggest menus with pictures, that will make mach easier to customer to choose!

Service is good! But the food was very disappointed. The fried pork and pork belly roll very hard to eat.(like they made them yesterday)
I recently ordered from Roll House for the first time after seeing positive reviews online, and unfortunately, my experience did not meet my expectations. I placed an online pickup order for four separate rolls(not a combo), expecting them to be packed individually. However, when I arrived, three of the rolls were placed in a single box, which made it inconvenient for sharing. When I inquired with the waitress about getting two additional boxes, she rudely informed me that I should have added a comment for separate packaging and dismissed my request for extra boxes outright, even when I offered to pay for them. Not only was the service disappointing, but the food was also underwhelming and not up to par with what I had anticipated. Overall, even with better service, I would not choose to return to Roll House.
Terrible customer service. The lady acted like I couldn’t understand a word of Korean even though I was speaking it, and referred to me as “저기 젊은 여자애.” I couldn’t believe she said that to a customer. I felt looked down on and completely unwelcome.
The staff is very rude. The korean lady didn't want to give me a cup of water because i ordered to go, even though i left tip
The portion of the pork cutlet has gotten smaller. It was overcooked, dry, and the meat was too thin. I used to come here often, but it's disappointing to see the food quality and portion size deteriorate over time. The service is also poor. I will never come back again.
The older woman who seemed to be new and served us was extremely rude. I like this place and visit often, but I don't want to have this experience again...
i used to really enjoy this place so i decided to bring my friends who have never been. i was 3pm and we decided to order a rose tteokbokki. however, through out our entire time there, the service was just over all really bad. we didnt realize we couldnt bring in outside drinks, which was our bad for not reading the sign, but one of the servers yelled pretty loudly from behind the counter “no outside drinks” so we threw away our drinks and came back in. as we reached the end of the meal, i wasn’t the one that paid but my friend gave no tip and as we got up to leave, one of the ladies came up to us and said “no tip?” in a really rude manner. we are all students, and the service made us feel very unwelcome, however my friend STILL offered to give tip after being called out, but the server said something along the lines that we cant give tip after the transaction. so we scrambled to find cash to give them even though we didnt have much on hand. the whole experience was just very disappointing to me, as i used to enjoy coming here.
