I never even noticed this place even though I must've passed by it a bunch of times while in Millbrae. I had high hopes with its reviews. Next to it has a very small parking lot. I've been here twice, the first time, it was completely empty and the second time, it was packed. Inside is a bit small, but they strive for a more classy feeling. I've ordered the lamb with green onions, chicken chow mein, eggplant with fish, and string beans. I really liked their chow mein since they used a thinner noodle type. The lamb was super tasty with the green onions. The portions were a lot bigger than we expected. The eggplant and fish fillet was a clay plot. It was a bit saltier than we liked, but still tasted really good. I was thoroughly impressed with the food. I really liked this place. It isn't in the too crowded part of Millbrae, and they have their own parking lot, so parking isn't too much of a problem. From my experience, it can get crowded, but they have Yelp waitlist which is super convenient. The food here is really tasty and I plan to come again soon.
There are a lot of mediocre Asian restaurants on the planet. They all look alike from the outside and have similar names. This Royal Fist is not one of them. The food here is a few steps above the average Chinese food. Don’t believe me? Know that they also have a Michelin Bib Gourmand rating. That means “simple yet skillful”. It’s really quite good! We had the green beans covered in a fresh garlic sauce, also the pork chunks served in a rich brown sauce. Both were excellent. Dumplings were so good you can’t eat just one. Or two. Or three for that matter. Also had the delicious salt and pepper oysters and clam. Fresh hot. Yum. Everything exceeded my expectations. It’s walking distance from Millbrae bart. There is also parking in back. Everything was really good. Too bad the beer and wine selection a bit small.
We’ve had the pleasure of enjoying a couple of lunches at Royal Feast in Millbrae, and recently catered lunch from them for a party. The catering was delivered right on time, and everything was absolutely delicious. Their food is consistently flavorful, high-quality, and a great value. Royal Feast really shines with their spicy Sichuan dishes and authentic Beijing specialties — each dish is packed with bold, authentic flavors. Our guests loved the food, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. We’re already looking forward to returning soon and working with them again for future events. Highly recommend!
Great lunch specials and friendly service. Try the Mapo Tofu with Ground Pork. It's spicy!
Amazing flavors and wide variety of classic dishes. Looks like an ordinary suburban no frills restaurant, but be prepared to be blown away by the food. Even a beef tendon appetizer suggested by friends, about which I had my doubts, was unexpectedly tasty and succulent, so imagine what they can do with real meat and vegetables! I'll be back to explore much more of the interesting looking items on the menu. On second trip, can highly recommend the cold eggplant salad appetizer, the sauteed chicken with leeks and peppers, the braised pork belly with chestnuts, and the braised ox tail clay pot. Sauteed corn with pine nut was OK but not outstanding in comparison with the rich flavors and textures of the other dishes. Very reasonable prices for food of this quality!
First time back since pre COVID. My favorite dish that i do not bother cooking is Mao Xue Wang, and it is by far the best of anywhere ( except China). The Chef remembered exactly how I like it. Service was top notch. The waitstaff made sure I had water, and very attentive. Now dining is possible again, i will be back often.
This place was a very pleasant surprise! The Peking duck was crispy and served with thin, tasty pancakes. Garlic fried beans were delicious too. Will definitely come back 👍
We finally found a Chinese restaurant that makes delicious salt and pepper fish (not on the menu, you have to ask for it). We paired that with some fried green beans which made for a delightful lunch. Quick service and generous portions at a reasonable price!
Filling Dim Sum items (11am-3pm). Excellent Grilled Eggplant has green onions, Dan Dan Noodles very good. Awesome looking Peking Duck- Raved about on Ck Please, Bay Area. Want to go again. Attentive Friendly staff!
The $10 lunch special is amazing. I got the twice cooked pork combo which came with rice and soup. The twice cooked pork was some of the best I've had in the bay area. Other restaurants with a similar level of quality usually charge twice as much for the same lunch special. Highly recommend.
Really enjoyed the food here. Peking duck had very crisp skin. The fried rice and dry fried green beans were superb. I didn’t like the egg drop soup, which was tomato-y and watery. Everything else was nice. Workers were brusque but competent and overall hospitable for our large group. Look forward to having the fried rice again
One of the best, if not the best Chinese food I have had in the US in the last seven years. The twice cooked pork is second to none, and the prices are super reasonable.
We dropped in by chance. I love quiet, uncrowded little restaurants. Very quiet, the hostess brought the menu, the waiter took the order in a flash and in about 10 minutes there were eggplants, rice, then crab in sauce and a great fish in sweet and sour sauce. Many people write about the Peking duck. Next time for sure! We wanted seafood. We really liked the crab in sauce. Well spoken, properly cut. The rest of the fish was packed and we took this deliciousness home.
This is a hidden gem!!! We passed by so many times and went here the first time last week. Amazing! The head chef used to work for Beijing Restaurant 北京饭店 as its head chef in Beijing which is one of the highly recognized restaurants in China. The food is very authentic and use traditional ingredients and methods to create balanced flavor (vs using additives). There are one legendary dish you must try (requires 24 hr reservation): the famous and legendary Eight Treasure Duck 八宝葫芦鸭. The skill and efforts put into this truly royal dish is unmatched in presentation, flavor and texture! Ps, for those who like a quick bite in a rush, this is not the place. Take time, slow down, and enjoy the true Chinese dishes here.
If you're craving authentic Chinese cuisine that hits all the right flavor notes, Royal Feast is the place to be. This hidden gem serves up dishes that transport your taste buds straight to China with every bite. The Spicy Sour Fish Noodle Soup is an absolute must-try. The broth is a perfect balance of tangy and spicy, with just the right kick to keep you coming back for more. The fish is tender and fresh, and the noodles soak up the rich flavors beautifully, making every spoonful a delight. Another standout dish is the Sweet Tomato Eggs with Crab. This comforting classic is elevated with the addition of fresh crab meat, which adds a layer of sweetness and richness to the dish. The combination of soft scrambled eggs, juicy tomatoes, and delicate crab is a masterclass in simplicity and flavor. For meat lovers, the Fried Spicy Ram Meat is a showstopper. Expertly stir-fried with a medley of spices, the ram meat is tender yet flavorful, with a smoky, savory heat that lingers deliciously. It's the perfect dish to pair with steamed rice or just enjoy on its own. Royal Feast excels in presenting authentic Chinese flavors while maintaining a balance that caters to diverse palates. The portions are generous, the service attentive, and the ambiance warm and inviting. Whether you're in the mood for something spicy, savory, or comfortingly sweet, this restaurant delivers every time. Highly recommended!
January 2024: Heard rave reviews on the Peking Duck 🦆. Came here specifically to try the duck. I give five stars ✨ for the duck. They served the duck in three separate dishes: crispy skin with hoisin sauce and thin wrappers, a delicious soup, and a stir fry with the boney pieces. I thought it was a very creative way to use every bit of the duck. The soup tasted rich! The stir fry was not my favorite but was still nice to make a dish with the remaining duck parts. Also ordered a whole bass, two different noodles and veggies. I would definitely come back again for more delicious food. There were a lot of other items from the menu that looked good!
Surprisingly delicate flavours and delicious food. Some of the best Chinese I’ve had in the Bay Area. Don’t let the decor, location or vibe put you off. Hidden in this suburban Chinese restaurant is some amazing food. Well worth a visit. Service was good, attentive without being involved. Dishes are very generous. Best is to bring some people and order a few things.
This tastes pretty authentic! Especially the sea cucumber which is so chewy and soft. Love it! The stir fried beef is really good too, although I would have liked to more if each piece of beef were smaller and more consistent. Other than that, my friend really enjoyed the crispy lamb leg. I will definitely visit it again.
Stopped here for a big, authentic Chinese meal after landing from SFO. Everything was great, but the string beans and eggplant were especially good. The Chong Qing spicy chicken was lightly breaded and moist, with some garlic bites throughout. Staff was friendly and relatively fast, though there were very few people in the restaurant at the time. I'd definitely go back again if I'm in the area.
This was a great experience with real Chinese food. The hostess was super helpful and showed me how to roll the duck in the pancake. So attentive, kind. Fresh food. Not busy
Authentic Chinese restaurant serving delicious food at some of the most affordable prices (especially their lunch special of $9.95/dish from M-F 11 AM - 2 PM). They specialize in Szechaun cuisine, so watch out for the spice. Some of the best dishes are their duck and their twice-cooked pork. The staff are incredibly friendly and consistently check-in with the guests. The restuarant has a a small cozy feel and was well decorated when I visited a few weeks after the Lunar New Year. There is even a wall of celebrities who have visited! One of the other redeeming qualities is their platter of Chinese candies by the exit.
Great meal ! We had delicious fried rice, beef noodles, chicken noodles and the incredible sweet and sour chicken. We definitely recommend!
It’s a typical Chinese restaurant greasy spoon older style with 10 banquet tables Food was excellent We had lunch special $10! Unbelievable! Very limited lunch special menu. Maybe 20 choices served in house with soup and rice The soup starter was simple thin broth with tomato and egg and sesame oil The Mongolian beef was excellent 4.5 stars really yummy sauce. Super spicy and I usually order super spicy. Caution The kung pao chicken was 4 stars. I love ginger. But this came out more as ginger chicken than kung pao. (Mind you I love ginger chicken but it didn’t meld as spectacularly as expected still decent. Super super spicy caution. I usually eat super spicy. But I still had to remove half of the peppers

Excellent food - squirrel fish was exceptional. It is definitely a diverse of offering of various regions in China but everything was spot on and of exceptional quality. Felt like I was back in mainland.
I came with some family and I have a very sensitive stomach. We were greeted with warmth and felt right at home. The food was delicious and nothing hurt my stomach! Which is a big deal for me. We’re planning on ordering some food for lunar new year. If you’re in the area, check it out it’s delicious!
Excellent Chinese restaurant with classics as well as more experimental dishes (e.g. Western-inspired pot roast, but also several types of crab dishes), all of them at a very high quality. The stir fried beef and the dandan noodles are especially good. Service is warm and quick, the prices are reasonable.
Dinner tonight was amazing! Tha Mapo Tofu was perfect, I loved to Dry Fried Green Breans, and the Scallion pancakes were relly good. The Smoked Tea duck was delicious, but the star of the meal Deep Fried Chongqing Style Fish that they made special for our party.
This is the best restaurant, the quality of the dishes are very royal, but pretty affordable; the servers are extremely professional, making you very comfortable like your own home; the dishes are exquisite, yummy and stylish. I could help myself go there again and again!

Would have been a five star review, but all of us felt a little funny after our meal! Food was delicious. Servers/chef were very knowledgeable about food allergies (one of the people in our group has celiac and needed gluten free options) and very accommodating. So many options and all made well. No one was truly sick after the meal, but our stomachs weren't quite right- disappointing since we really loved our meal! Might give it another shot to see if we do better next time.
On a pitstop through SF and was glad to find this restaurant just a few minutes walk from my hotel. The Szechuan dumplings were not as spicy as I hope but has that aromatic flavors unique to this type of cuisine. The combination fried noodles has generous portion of ingredients, making it a satisfying meal.
For $10.95 or $11.95 per person, you can get a nice weekday lunch special that comes with a bowl of soup, a spring roll, and rice. The food quality is very good, and we were seated very quickly when we arrived. I have been here many times for lunch and dinner in the past and always enjoy their meals, so the weekday lunch special is definitely a good option amidst all the food options nearby.
We were here on a layover, so it was exactly what we needed after a long flight. Delicious comforting food where people can connect.
Avoid the abalone (canned flavor is a little off) but a lot of their other dishes were super authentic and tasty. The live sea bass and beef noodle soup didn't disappoint.

Seated fairly quick. Place was almost empty. Brought tea and took our order. Didn't see any combo type plates except at lunch. Egg drop soup $12? Really?. Good portions, food was hot. Had to ask for forks, one small napkin on the table, and no condiments in sight. Tóok forever to get checked out, which was strange since the place was empty. Forgot to bring my water. Questionable if I'd go back, maybe for lunch when the prices are normal.
Food is not the same as before. Spicy food used to be great but now it's tasteless and bland.
The food was okay but the service and atmosphere were wanting. I think there are several other dim sum restaurants in the area that would be more appealing. We had hoped for a special experience and it was much less than that.

The waiters did not even bat an eye on us when we entered. We waited for minutes to even get seated. It seems that they took forever to make any food and the dessert, which was roasted sweet potatoes with caramel, took too long to make and was overcooked, clearly tasting burnt. We also had a vegan friend who could taste meat in the dishes that were supposed to be vegan, including the dessert. Very disappointing. The table was too small. It seemed they took a table for two and just added chairs on each side. We had two people sit side by side and it seemed cramped.
