Three of us wanted to have a calm Sunday night dinner. We ended up choosing this place as it was nearby and open. Glad to have found this place. Small place but amazing sushi! Tried - Crunchy crab appetizer Crunchy roll Crazy roll TNT (amazing flavor and taste) All the food that we ordered was tasty and flavorful and fresh. We got the food really quick. Service was really great! The waitress came up as soon as we came, seated us, explained how the different rolls are. The chef was really friendly and was suggesting us which ones are good too and he was great. Will definitely keep coming here from now!
Great staff (Tony, Lana, Sam) and affordable sushi that are both top quality, makes Truya my go-to for lunch and dinner. Lunch hours 11:00 a.m. through 2:30 p.m., includes good lunch specials, i.e. build your own poke bowl, along with the usual bento box and/or sashimi. They re-open at 5:00 p.m., to serve the dinner crowd with incredibly fresh Whei Du Bap, or sashimi, sushi nigiri, and specialty rolls that truly please all palates. Serving many types of Sake, Shochu, beer, and wines that pair well with the food and your friends, colleagues, or a romantic date. I had them deliver for my Family's Birthday Party. It was wonderful and so affordable!
Exceptional customer service! They were very prompt with help which was especially nice since I was handling my rambunctious toddler by myself. They were very friendly with him which also made it fun for him to go out and eat. The food was delicious as well! My son loved his temaki and snuck some of my food too.
Really like that sushi restaurant! Always try to come over and take something either take in or take out. Food always fresh and cooked by professional. All staff is good and kind!
One of best places to have sushi. So Happy to have found the place and the staff is so well mannered and friendly. I would rate 10 star for the staff working there. I also lost my iphone (due to my negligence) and they kept it secure that night and handed me over the next morning in a sealed with my name and all the details on it. Truly Appreciated for the Great Food and well behaved staff. GREAT place to visit.
New sushi chef. Tina is always great and remembers everyone's name. Owner, Scott, is usually on site. Food is fantastic, and the fish is always super fresh. They have premium oysters on the half shell right now for $3 each...yum
The food here is pretty good, and the service is also quite nice. Parking can be a bit tight on busy nights, but there is a small lot behind the building, accessible through the alley between the pharmacy and the furniture store (?). If you are there when the owners Scott also is, strike up a conversation with him, as he's pretty friendly and is a great conversationalist.
I've never written a view immediately after a meal! Truya Sushi gives you your money's worth...and the quality was good! We had our order to go and my rolls were packaged nicely and delicious! Thank you for curing our Sushi cravings! Truya Sushi will not disappoint you! My Fiance had the 3 item Bento Box and they gave him a good sized serving of Teriyaki chicken and Teriyaki beef!
Been going here for a quarter century. My gaming group may have moved on, but Scott and his crew still knock out great sushi in a really nice place. Now with multiple locations!
Used to come here a lot a while ago, but the service got spotty, so didn't come here so much. I came a few days ago with the guys I work with, and it was fine. Well, one of the guys knew better how to order, and he knows the owner, so that helped. I'm more of a roll or nigiri guy, but the guy I was with convinced me to try the sashimi combo they have. It was good, but I think I'd go back to rolls and nigiri next time. The sashimi was fine though! Have to work on getting my family to come back. ;-)
Did pick up for bento box combo. It was great! Took the chicken teriyaki and sushi combo. Great deal for the price.
Some of the best sushi and nicest restaurant staff. I loved the lady that was waiting our table. Such a nice authentic person. I will absolutely be going back there.
Don't let the exterior fool you, to judge a book by its cover would be a mistake. This is my favorite Japanese place that is close to my house. It's a mom and pop place. Very friendly and great food.
Lion King roll for my fellow (not sushi~) folks, delicious baked salmon on the classic California roll with amazing sauces 💓 a must try!
we arrived on a Sunday evening around 630, there was only one table with customers, we were thinking of noes. but we sat down anyway and the food actually amazed us, salmon was one of the freshest ones I had in many years, I was not expected such high quality in looks like a tucked away place like this. throughout the hour there was a lot of delivery pickups so they seem busy. for the price $55 the sashimi combo is a good value
We came here on a Sunday night to get sushi and whie dup bap (how it's spelled on their menu). I was looking specifically for this type of sushi donburi that has salad and spicy Korean sauce (gochujang). Not all sushi restaurant will offer this and I thought this one definitely one of the better tasting ones. It was a deal for getting a large plate with rice, salad and sashimi. I like adding a lot of gochujang before mixing it all together. The garlic and fresh jalapeños gave it a nice kick. Overall, both me and my husband really enjoyed this. We'll definitely come back for hwe dup bap. It was our first time here and it's a good spot if you want to watch a sports game since there are TVs you can watch them on. Parking is very limited so it may be hard to find a parking spot. I didn't get to try any sushi rolls but I'm definitely coming back to try more.
It’s a small place. The sushi taste good and looks great as well. Price is decent. Service was really friendly but a bit slow as there was only one staff at noon. My rolls was ready at sushi bar and I waited over 5 minutes until it was served. Did not try lunch meal/combo but a lot of people ordered to go.
Went here for dinner and the atmosphere was very nice and clean. Got the bento box with teriyaki salmon and california rolls chef Scott was very nice and welcoming he took very good care of my order really liked it. will definitely comeback.
Lunch bento box was nice! I got sashimi and bulgogi for my two items. Generous portions of bulgogi. Sashimi could be thicker but it’s a lunch special and the amount of beef made up for it. And it tasted very fresh. The picture doesn’t show it but there’s like 7 large pieces of bulgogi. Food was made with love, I appreciated the attention to detail like sliced cabbage underneath the beef, the daikon. Salad was really fresh and soup was nice too. Would come back to dine in for dinner. Atmosphere is casual but nice. A hidden gem!
Nice place, I came here on a rainy day and it was a good experience. Sushi with quality, fresh! Cool staff :)

Server girl did a great job, sushi sashimi combo was delicious and fresh. The portions were plentiful, the only downside to this experience and it has nothing to do with the restaurant or the food. Was unfortunately a family of four sitting by the door who had absolutely no understanding of restaurant etiquette. We were sitting six tables away and we can hear every word of there profanity filled conversations.
The atmosphere is always really nice. The staff is always wonderful and go up and above and beyond and making sushi. Even if it's not on their menu, you tell him what you want. In they well, figure out how to do it

The sushi is pretty amazing. The service was a bit slow, but they only had one gal for the whole place. The Pinot Noir I ordered was gross. I usually never order a wine from a sushi place, but thought I'd give it a shot. Just don't. Order the Saki. The other part of my party did and it was delicious.
Place is small for the location we went to but overall the price and quality of the meal was good. I enjoyed trying variety of different sushi rolls and also the chicken katsu. Interior of the restaurant is simple and clean, staff was attentive and prompt, prices on the menu were reasonable and one could get a decent meal with generous left overs. Our table ordered 5 dishes and we enjoyed each one of them and had a hearty take home for lunch the next day. The restaurant also has value meals clearly listed if you have a particular. Overall, I would recommend and will be coming back to try other rolls in the near future.
It’s a decent sushi place, I’ve ordered from them multiple times and I was never disappointed. I’ve tried California, spicy tuna and fried California rolls as well as gyoza and beef teriyaki so far. My favorites are fried California and beef teriyaki. Definitely recommend this place! 😋😋
Nigri sushi (salmon and yellowtail) was surprising tasty and fresh. However, the unagi sauce on the sushi roll tasted funky. Tempura was ok, nicely crispy, but as one would expect from a place like this, the shrimp inside the batter was miniscule.
It is located in the lobby of Hyatt hotel, but it is reasonably priced. It is very simple sushi as many Americans sushi places but it tastes pretty good. Highly recommended to sushi lovers

Truya was a good experience - They all were welcoming and the space felt clean. I had the sushi special (7 nigiri, 6 takka) and a negihama roll. I appreciated the price and qty of the rolls, but something was different about the rice. Unsure of what it was, but did have the same sushi rice flavor I am used to. I think all these photos online do it justice. I appreciated that they had more than just sushi, making a place that non-sushi lovers can join. Overall, I would consider it an easy place to eat.

The sushi was just okay. The worker was told by a customer that we entered so they can seat us. We didn't get water until after we received 3 rolls. They stated that they didn't have enough cups. FYI, This place was not packed. Less than 15 people were in the place. I'm pretty sure they forgot about giving us water... Since when we reminded them, they gave it to us right away with cups behind the counter. The baked roll we ordered a bit longer than most places... I wouldn't recommend this place. It was pretty rowdy. I definitely don't find this place family friendly. They had an extention cord that was in the middle of the pathway that could be tripped on. They used a table for one of their machines (I'm not really sure what it did but the chef used it at some point) since the place was small, it took up about 25% of the usable seating. The only good thing about this place were the decent pricing. But I would rather pay a bit more for better quality. They were also limited on salmon type rolls....which was very odd to me. Overall I would not recommend this place if you enjoy salmon.
Sushi take-out is usually decent and as expected for the price. However, I took home another order today only to find the most inedible, dry, and hard rice I've ever seen, not just for sushi but in general; reminiscent of the month-old leftover rice forgotten in the back of your fridge. Not sure if I'll personally give this place a shot again as I'm surprised that any chef would knowingly serve rice so stale, but I'd give them the benefit of the doubt as it hadn't occurred the past few times. Just wanted to post this as a warning to keep an eye out and ask for an order to be remade if you catch it before leaving.
Food 4 stars, service 2 stars. The little girl was looking at her iPhone instead of the tables. I had to call her over every time we needed something or needed space cleared on the table. Dinner time on Saturday FYI. Food was fabulous, I do recommend Truya in general.
I've been to this place twice now. The second time I think I figured out why the experience is so bland: they don't seem to season their rice. The sushi is haphazardly assembled (rice thickness is all over the place) and then each roll is smushed into a small takeout box. Also, not the most flavor cuts of hamachi and salmon. The miso soup separated weirdly and was pretty sparse on ingredients (even by miso soup standards). If they slowed down the roll making (more consistency), get some larger takeout boxes so each roll doesn't require its own, learn how to season the rice, and fight for some higher quality cuts of fish, then they could improve a lot!
They forgot our order and made all four of us wait for the forgotten order for 20 minutes when they said it was going to be 10 minutes. They also gave the table next to us a 10% discount when they forgot to put noodles in their noodle soup. It seems like there’s no standard to the customer service.
Nothing like dipping hot fresh tempura into ice cold, salty sauce... wt actual h? Panko style shrimp is like a granola bar. I don't even wanna look in the other box.
Sushi was good, but service was very slow. Hope you like Sapporo beer because that is the only one they serve even though the menu listed other beers. I also didn't enjoy the 15 minutes of grinding noise that our server said was processing the imitation crab. My GF has been a patron for quite a few years but was very dissatisfied with the experience. She and I agreed that we will never be back to Truya Sushi again.
The staff was friendly, but the sushi was terrible. All the nigiri I had was bland and tasteless, definitely not fresh. I watched the chef take the saba out of a plastic package. The agedashi was a little too salty. The spider roll and red dragon roll were apparently better.
Staff was friendly and the miso soup was pretty good (although lacked tofu, but had inoki mushrooms). However, the fish quality was not that good. The salmon maki and tuna maki especially did not taste fresh, and there was extremely little fish in the maki rolls.
ok. First off, the food they serve can not be categorize as "sushi" in my definition. The ingredients they use are not fresh, and the form of dished aren't formed well. Somehow, much of their menu consists of Korean food at "Japanese restaurant" (last time I checked, the sushi was Japanese dish). Anyway, there are many fine sushi restaurants in Silicon Valley besides Truya Sushi, the one that serves real and fresh sushi.
Mediocre Japanese food. Got spicy tuna maki which was just spicy and not that flavorful, and California maki both of which had too much rice around them which is always a sign of bad sushi. I also tried the tuna katsu which was interesting so not bad. The gyoza was unfortunately soft by the time it was delivered and not crunchy as I expected. And the yakitori was really bad quality tough chicken meat and drenched in sauce. I guess it's cheap for a reason. You get what you pay for
The fish quality was terrible compared to the rest of the Bay. The chef decided to mop the floor so the whole restaurant reeked of phenyl

I’m really surprised that this spot is rated so highly. Maybe a midweek late lunch visit didn’t catch Truya at its best, but wow. Very unimpressed. Went with two friends and we all ordered bento box lunch specials. Between us we sampled nigiri, tempura, gyoza, chicken teriyaki and sashimi, plus the salad and miso soup that came with. Miso was lukewarm, weird flavor, like just salt and a strange chemical taste, no wakame visible. Tempura batter was a strange cornmeal texture and the vegetables were a mix of overcooked and undercooked. The gyoza were lukewarm and soggy. The chicken teriyaki was truly awful— super sweet, thin sauce, and the chicken was flavorless and rubbery. The nigiri and sashimi were okay. Ebi nigiri was dry but ahi and salmon were fine. The waiter was slow and seemed totally indifferent to us. He told my friend that they had unsweetened iced tea, then produced a can of lemon flavored sweetened Brisk. She ended up just having water… It wasn’t that hot a day but it was hot and stuffy inside the restaurant and there were flies landing on the table. The bento combo was $17, so I guess you get what you pay for. Just an unsatisfying experience from beginning to end.

This place used to be so much better than now. Everything went wrong during our last visit. The waitress couldn’t find the right bottle of sake, so she just brought some bottle. I requested no sauce on the unagi tataki, so it came with the sauce on top of it. It even said on the receipt “no sauce”. The staff didn’t seem to care. We asked for an extra spoon. It came like an eternity later. What’s wrong with this place that used to be so good?
Worst sushi I’ve had in the Bay Area. The tuna sashimi was not edible, tuna Katsu tasted like cat food, California roll tasted very off, and they even managed to completely mess up unagi nigiri.. Idk how they stay open tbh. I think it’s because they have the same name as the sushi restaurant in the Hyatt hotel in Santa Clara..?
Why you not sealing the bags!! How do I know if the delivery driver tampered with my food or not!!! Way too much rice on the blossom roll . It’s grocery level sushi , ok if your starving and willing to shell out $$$

Don't even get me started about this place. This place had really pricey for the taste and portion! The pieces are really small, and almost all of the rolls we ordered were not good. The Rainbow roll and the Lion King roll were good, but the cream cheese they use for the Fried Alaska roll, at first I thought it was actual cheese but now I am thinking it was expired cream cheese. The rest of this roll went in the trash. If you want a better sushi place worth the price, you should go to Satsuma Sushi over in Mountain View.
kept trying to order sushi from here on uber eats but they keep just making me wait an hour, then cancelling it when theres a driver there, so they just waste my time and the driver’s time too
