Opinions de Paik's Noodle San Jose
One of the best korean-chinese restaurants I’ve been to in the bay. I went with my family, and the portions were generous and easy to share. The food came out quickly even though we ordered several dishes, and everything arrived warm and freshly made. I loved every dish but my personal favorite was jajangmyeon. The staff were very friendly, the restaurant was clean, and I would definitely come back and recommend this place to friends😆😆
I had an incredible meal at Paik's Noodles on Blossom Hill recently, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. I've been wanting to try their Jajangmyeon for a while, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The noodles were perfectly thick and springy, and the black bean sauce was a masterpiece—it was incredibly rich, savory, and had a great depth of flavor with plenty of tender pork and fresh vegetables mixed in. Every bite was pure comfort food. We also got some appetizers to share, and the fried chicken and fried mantou were both stellar. The chicken was wonderfully crispy on the outside and incredibly juicy inside, a perfect balance. And the fried mantou, with its pillowy soft texture and golden-fried exterior, was a delightful treat, especially when dunked into the sweet, creamy condensed milk. The only small hiccup was that a few items on the menu weren't available, which was a little disappointing. But honestly, the amazing quality of the dishes we did get more than made up for it. The service was quick, and the portions were very generous. If you're craving authentic Korean-Chinese food, Paik's Noodles is a must-visit. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their menu!
The food here is so good. Me and friends got the stir fry and the black noodles and also some sides like the dumplings. My favorite is the stir fry noodles, and had a good amount of spice and a bunch veggies and meat. The food came out pretty quick and also easy to order. The only thing is I wished they would say the reccomeded serving size on each dish, because I thought the stir fry dish was going to be the same size as the black noodle but ended up being WAY larger than I thought, so I ended up taking some leftovers home. But service and food was great.
It’s the perfect place to enjoy Korean-style Chinese food. I had jajangmyeon, jjamppong, sweet and sour pork, and shrimp, and everything was delicious. Best of all, the prices are very affordable. The staff were all very friendly, and I will definitely visit again.
Finally, they move to Almaden valley, close to my home, so don’t need drive 30 min to Korea town Still very nice noodle and fry meat
We went with friends and our kids, and the jjamppong on a rainy day was absolutely amazing! 👍 It was very kid-friendly, and the tangsuyuk was unforgettable—chewy, tender, and crispy at the same time. We’ll definitely be visiting again.
Brand new restaurant. Food was really good. We had the Jajang-myeon and spicy seafood soup, sweet and sour pork and the shrimp.
Super happy that Paik’s opened in South San Jose! The interior is spacious and the service was great. The jjajangmyeon taste exactly like the other locations 👍
I truly appreciated the wonderful service and the clean atmosphere during my visit. The food was absolutely delicious—without a doubt, it was the best I've ever had at 홍콩반점. It made my experience so much more enjoyable.
This restaurant has a simple menue that yiu can come back for more. The jajang myeon is one of the freshest for this area by a long shot. Get it with meat and you can enjoy it when you accidentally eat all the noodles first. Or get extra noodles. The sweet and sour pork is a mind bender. The sauce sauce comes on the side and you can totally dip it if not drench all your work with the sauce! Be sure to get extra rice.
So good I almost licked the bowl clean. My wife isnt always a huge ja ja myun fan, but she kept stealing more from me. My goodness this place is so good. Got the ja ja myun, the sweet and sour pork(incredible) the soy chicken and pot stickers.
The Real Korean Taste in San Jose!" Title: Exactly like the Jajangmyeon in Korea! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "If you're looking for that specific Jajangmyeon taste from back home in Korea, the Blossom Hill location is the spot. The noodles have that perfect 'classic' texture—smooth, bouncy, and exactly like the ones you get at a busy shop in Seoul. The black bean sauce is rich and savory with just the right balance, coating the noodles perfectly. It doesn't try to be something it's not; it just delivers that authentic, nostalgic flavor we all crave. It’s consistent, fast, and hit the spot perfectly. This is definitely my go-to when I miss the real Korean-Chinese style noodles!"
I wanted to update my review to 5 stars. I got jajjang myun and it was so good! The sweet and sour pork was also heavenly. The batter was well done and I almost ate all of it. My mom said the jjahm ppOHng (spicy) seafood noodle soup was also good. My only issue now is I have a place to go to when I’m craving noodles and have to go back. I would recommend this place if you want fresh, yummy bowl of noodles.
We got there late (8:07 PM with an 8:30 close!) and they still served us without hesitation you almost never see that kind of service these days. The portions are huge for the price, and the taste is actually insane. I'm not exaggerating when I say l've been eating my whole life, but I've never tasted food that has this kind of perfectly balanced, explosive flavor profile. I forgot the name of the guy who served us, but he gave us 3 FREE JAJANGMYEON SAUCE!
The BEST jajang rice I've ever had. The omelette was seasoned perfectly, slightly savory which paired well with the sweet jajang sauce. Rice was not mushy. I could do without the seafood soup it comes with (Nothing wrong with it per se, just the jajang rice stole the show 😆). Everything was fantastic. I am coming back!
The seafood noodle is good but not unique. The sweet and sour pork seem a popular dish, is cooked differently, crispy and chewy at the same time, the sauce is spicy, it is very good. Jjajang (black bean sauce) noodles cooked with the right tenderness . I am not into jjajang noodle but will come back for this. Worth visiting just for the Jjajang noodle .
Their menu is small but each item is inexpensive, tastes great, and is decently sized. Their special to-go containers separate the noodles from the sauce, so don’t worry about soggy food. Fast and friendly service. The inside atmosphere is lively but not too hectic, and they’re super fast with orders. The noodle texture was perfect. Definitely recommend their jjajangmyeon over other places. Parking lot is small, but staff have more info about parking.
Really enjoyed the jajangmyeon here! Probably the best jajangmyeon I’ve tried in the States! The portion size is generous for the price, and the flavors are spot on. The black bean sauce is lighter than the traditional version, which I actually prefer—it feels less heavy but still very flavorful. The noodles have a great chewy texture, just the way they should be. Meat is tender and flavourful as well! The sweet and sour pork was crispy and served in a very generous portion. The stir-fried noodles are satisfying with lots of ingredients. Seasoning is light and spot on! The jjamppong and Gunmandu (deep fried pork dumplings) were a hit and miss.
I came in during my long lunch break at work. A bit crowded, but to be expected. Ordered the jajang rice. Order was at my table within 5 mins. Very prompt and accurate. Jajang rice is hearty, comes with an egg and shrimp omelette. Nice, savory, and gooey (yes weird to say, but it was that good). Also came with a bowl of Jjangpong soup. Doesn't taste numbingly spicy, but the heat does linger. Very generous portions. Well worth it. Was only able to finish half of my meal. Thank you to my server for hooking me up with the pickled radish and for being attentive. Will definitely come back for the Jajangmyeon and other dishes.
Had the jjajangmyeon large size and the crispy sweet & sour pork. Food was great and the restaurant was packed. We will definitely go back and try the rest of the menu.

I still crave this place often. Fast service but parking is really hard so I recommend for people to come early!!

It's so cool to finally see one of these in the blossom hill area of san jose! People are really going to love the stir fry noodles here! There's always so much in quantity and it's always at a good quality as well. Just watch out for the price though. Compared to the other restaurants in the Bay area, this one looks to be a little bit smaller and seems to be more busy on weekends and dinner nights so you can eat here for lunch most preferably. Unfortunately, they still do not have any liquor licenses, so there's no soju available, however, there's an advertisement for them on the water bottles that the friendly servers give! They also give out pickled radish too, no kimchi last time i saw... Ordering is also a lot more easy through using a iPad located at one end of the table. There are also other tableside items such as ketchup, Sriracha sauce, pepper and chili powder as well as the scissors to cut and chopsticks! Again, the main highlight here is the noodles itself with the stir-fried auction that has a very sweet taste to it and you can even option out some of the other stuff like the really crunchy squid or the small little shrimp they add, all in a nice sweet sauce that they have! Turns out you just don't need to go spicy to enjoy this place! There are also other appetizer items such as fried pork and dumplings too! I was pretty attentive servers that come by often to refill water or to check up on you!
Very similar food quality to the Santa Clara location. Delicious. More space at the SJ location. Lots of parking.
The service and food here was great as usual. We ordered our go-tos, the jajangmyeon and sweet and sour pork, which were pretty good. That said, we did notice a slight lack of attention to detail when it came to cleanliness. The scissors at our table were noticeably dirty, and even the replacements had visible hard water marks. Additionally, the ordering tablet had red spots that looked like jjampong splashes, and the screen itself felt a bit crusty/sticky. Given that this is a restaurant I like to frequent, I'd love to see a bit more care on the cleanliness side the next time I visit.
What I love about this place is consistency. It always tastes the same when I come here. Mind you this is not like the stuff you get in Ktown or back in South Korea. It leans more towards the Chinese palette, which is still very good! So don’t expect it to taste similar to what you had somewhere else. Jjajang and jjagpong are still my go-tos. Their ttangsuyuk is excellent as well! It can get very busy here and wait times might be awhile. Honestly anything over 45 minutes I’d come back another time.
We ordered the jajangmyeon and the jjampong and they came super quick. The noodles used in the dishes were extremely chewy, which was a noodle type I had never had before. Takes a lot of chewing so just keep that in mind. Otherwise, the jajangmyeon was savory and had lots of vegetables, the jjampong had plenty of tender seafood and the complimentary radish wasn't too sweet like the kind you usually purchase at the store. I do wish there were the traditional cucumbers on top of the jajangmyeon though, as it was a little oily and heavy after a while. Prices are great, portions are large, even for the regular size. However, the location isn't the most ideal and the parking lot is small. They were also blaring music inside which was quite overstimulating during our meal.
Delicious authentic Korean food is served at this restaurant in Santa Clara. We tried the Jajangmyeon, Jjamppong, and the sweet and sour pork. The Jajangmyeon is a must-try! Although the sweet and sour pork is popular, it wasn’t my favorite. Fast and efficient service. Very small free parking lot that fills up quickly.
This is a decent restaurant that meets expectations. Jajangmyun was a little too sweet and they most likely used machines to make their noodles (as opposed to making their own). However, this isn’t a place where you dine to get the best Korean Chinese dishes. Their prices are highly competitive and you get exactly that. Fast service, adequate quality food and smaller portions. It’s an attractive place to dine for a value play.
This is one of my favorite spots for Korean noodles. The menu is simple and clear, so it’s easy to decide what to order without overthinking. The noodles are always on point, and the service is consistently friendly and attentive. The only downside is the parking situation. Half of the parking lot is shared with the laundry next door, which can make finding a spot tricky, especially during busy hours. It's a minor inconvenience, but it can be a bit annoying. Overall, I highly recommend this place for anyone craving Korean noodles.
Chili jajangmyeon (8/10 with the chili powder) - Noodle texture really good! - Black bean sauce was up there but had better - I added a generous amount of the chili powder and it made it a bit more spicy which I thought was really good. Sweet and sour pork (6.5/10) - Pork was good and tender - Sweet and sour sauce was not for me - I used the chili powder on the table for the pork dish. It was good Chili shrimp (6/10) - Shrimp was cooked really well still tender - The batter was not coated properly I think - Flavor not bad but not as spicy as I want it more on the sweet side Service was great, food came out really fast. We had a lot of leftovers, a staff member came over to help pack the food. He flipped the bowl of noodles and it went straight into the to go box.
A busy Korean spot with appetizers and noodles. I ordered online and was glad that I did. Pick-up is very straightforward since they place completed orders on a shelf. Parking was pretty tight on a Thursday night though. There was also a wait and I noticed about 7 people sitting outside. Food itself was okay. The pork was a bit rough in texture and the dumplings were standard. I hesitate to dine in unless I RSVP in advance.
Nice place with great service and banger music. Food was really good but I personally thought that the sauce to noodle ratio on the Jajangmyeon wasn't the best.
Always my fav Korean restaurant in Bay\n\nFood was decent except the Tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) was a bit harder than I expected serving on that day.

Great food, amazing service, not bad on the wait and the place is clean. The noodles are what makes the dishes....you must try the black noodles and the sweet shrimp.
The parking lot is spacious, and since it’s newly opened, it’s very clean. Everything is great, but the sweet and sour pork is a bit different from the Santa Clara location — the sauce has fewer vegetables. The taste of the jjampong and black bean noodles with seafood is similar, though. Still, it’s so clean and easy to park here that I think I’ll just come to this location.
Paiks in Santa Clara was my go to korean resto in the bay. I was happy that they opened a branch in south San Jose, but i noticed some differences. First, the portion of their sweet and sour pork was smaller (refer in the picture). It is also kinda bland. Aside from that, the sweet and sour sauce is way to thick with less vegetables in it. Second, the pasta they used tasted and felt different. Not as bouncy and tasty compared to one in santa clara. Third, the bowl of rice is quite small. Lastly, we were just given 4 small slices of pickled radish as sides. With no refills. In santa clara branch, its overflowing. Aside from this, the taste was as good as in Santa Clara branch. Hopefully they will improve. For the mean time, I will still go to the Santa Clara one.
So I tried the Mr Paik Noodle on Blossom Hill, meh . The space is definitely bigger, brighter, and feels newer compared to the Santa Clara location, which I usually go to. It looks great inside and feels more modern overall. That said, the food just did not hit the same. If you have been to the Santa Clara spot, just know it is vastly superior and it is not even close. The noodles here were not as chewy or thick. The jajangmyeon used a different noodle (than other location) and the sauce was very watery. It was so thin that it left a pool in the bowl, which is not what jajangmyeon is supposed to do. It should be rich and cling to the noodles, not run off them. The jjamppong tasted overly fishy and honestly made me question the freshness of the seafood. It just did not have that clean, balanced spice and depth I am used to. The biggest letdown was the sweet and sour pork. It was not crunchy. It was soft with a slight crisp on the outside but nowhere near the satisfying crunch you expect. If you are charging $18 for it, the texture needs to be on point. They also charge extra for the spicy sauce option and in my opinion it is not worth it. You are better off just adding the chili powder to the sweet n sour sauce they provide at the table. On the positive side, the wait staff were very friendly and attentive. I also really liked the digital ordering system at the table and the ability to call your server directly from the screen. That part was smooth and convenient. Overall, nice space and great service, but if you are going strictly for food quality, I would still choose the Santa Clara location every time.
Rough man. When we got seated, they brought us glasses with lipstick marks. They were also damp. We asked for new glasses and they brought in another set that also had the marks... Moving onwards from that, we ordered rice, sweet and sour pork, and jajangmyeon. They brought the jajangmyeon and rice quickly enough. But, they completely forgot to bring the sweet and sour pork. It was only when we saw two tables that arrived after us get their plates that we realized they just forgot to bring us our plate. The sweet and sour pork is way too sweet and vicious. Please just dip it, don't let your intrusive thoughts win and pour it over your pork. The jajangmyeon was cooked spot on and honestly it's pretty decent just for that. But yeah, the service here is rough, they don't seem very sanitary or thorough with cleaning, given our table was still sticky, the lipstick wax not getting cleaned from the dishwasher, and the cups themselves being damp when given to you.
