Honestly I don't get Korean food out often since I am Korean and how pricy it is now a days. However did visit here today and it was pretty dang good. Had a few things and all of it was solid, nothing I would say that's so amazing but everything was overall good. Pricing wise they are indeed a bit high but with the side dishes and all, it's a nice experince out.
Amazing food! Well worth the wait and great atmosphere. Would definitely love to come back again soon!
My go-to place for Galbi Jjim (braised beef short ribs with vegetables), Galbi Tang (short rib soup with noodles), and Seol Leong Tang (brisket soup with noodles). Always delicious! It's less expensive to call the restaurant directly for a takeout order, if you use the linked online order service the prices are 10% higher!
Was really craving seolleongtang since having it in Korea. Found Kunjip and knew I had to try it. The bone broth is amazing and they put a very generous portion of brisket in the soup. The side dishes were also great and they refill them as needed. I highly recommend trying this place if looking for a great soup.
Food was very good. Delicious and well presented. I had the cheesy Gulbijim and same dish minus the cheese. We also ordered one of the soups. Service was pretty amazing and accommodating. It got busy pretty quickly and wait time for a table can be a bit long BUT plenty of seating. The atmosphere is very friendly and family oriented. Over all I truly loved the experience.
My fav spot in the South Bay for Korean soup. Their Seolleongtang, Galbi Tang, and Galbi Jjim are my go to. Their Seolleongtang is very rich and give a generous amount of beef and noodles. Their Galbi is so tender and flavorful too. They also have exceptional cabbage, radish, and cucumber kimchi which they will refill. Service is always on point and even though lines can be long, they move pretty quick. Def in the moderate price range but worth every dollar. Will be dining here for as long as I can!
I come to this Korean restaurant all the time, and I think their oxtail soup and the cheese beef short ribs are both really delicious. The service is good and the food comes out very fast. Just be prepared to wait over an hour if you come on weekends—especially weekends. One fun thing is that every time you get seated, they give you two bottles of Yakult. I think that’s pretty cute. Overall, this is my go-to Korean restaurant in the South Bay.
One of the top Korean restaurants in the Bay, hands down. I absolutely loved their seol leong tang. The broth was very mild but I could distinctly taste the oxtail flavor. The table also has plenty of fixings and seasonings you can add to your soup. The bonchon while simple is executed menacingly well. My family loved their food too!
If you’re craving truly authentic Korean soups and stews, Kunjip is a gem in Santa Clara that feels straight out of Seoul. From the moment you walk in, the clean marble décor and glowing yellow signage set a refined yet cozy tone. The tables are neatly arranged with scissors, condiments, and utensils ready—everything perfectly organized for a satisfying Korean meal. We arrived around 10:00 AM right after opening and were seated immediately — no wait at all, which made the experience even better. We came for the signature soups, and they were phenomenal. • 🥣 Seollong Tang (Beef Bone Soup) — the broth was beautifully milky and rich, with deep beef flavor from long-simmered bones. It came piping hot in a stone pot with thinly sliced beef brisket and noodles. The taste was gentle and soothing, and you can season it yourself with salt, pepper, and a generous scoop of chopped green onions from the table pot—just like in Korea. • 🍖 Galbitang (Beef Short Rib Soup) — a clear, elegant broth with tender beef ribs that fall right off the bone. The soup was enhanced by the aroma of jujube and egg strips, creating a comforting and slightly sweet flavor. Each meal came with three side dishes (banchan) — kimchi, marinated cucumbers, and radish. All were fresh, crisp, and well-balanced in spice. We also appreciated the small touches: the neat condiments tray with fresh green onions, the clean salt pot, and the friendly service that offered Yakult-style yogurt drinks at the end of the meal — a fun and nostalgic Korean touch! The portion size is generous, and the prices are reasonable for the quality and authenticity. Whether you’re here for energy-boosting Do Ga Ni Tang (ox knee soup) or cold noodles like Naeng Myun in summer, every dish feels crafted with care. Overall, Kunjip delivers a perfect mix of homestyle warmth and restaurant polish. A must-visit spot in Santa Clara if you love Korean soups, or if you want a comforting meal on a chilly morning.
This restaurant was recommended by Google. It had excellent rating. So we decided to have a try. Its food was really absolutely good. We ordered three dishes to share. Mo Deum Soo Yook was the best for three of us. We highly recommended it. It is a mixture of pork meats. Really good. I like spicy food, but I found Galbl Tang more than the spicy one, Guk Bap. Same as other Korean restaurant, there were small dishes as appetizers. The restaurant was clean and good distance between tables. The staff were nice. It was very Korean atmosphere in the restaurant, fall like in Korea. Highly recommend this restaurant for Korean food.
Both service and the food are outstanding! The dining time is limited to 90mins but it's pretty sufficient. Their banchan are great, especially, the shrimp cake. I ordered their appetizer fish one and I highly recommend that. Aside from those we ordered a soon tofu and dolsot bibimbap. Personally I think the bibimbap is more special compared to soon tofu. But overall it's a great experience and we are likely coming back.
Quite pricy but worth it. We got a beef rib stew, cold noodles, and beef bone soup with tendons. The beef rib stew seemed smaller than other places but I like how they put in different kinds of vegetables. The beef is braised thoroughly, flavorful and very soft. On the other hand, the cold noodles portion was very generous. The soup tasted really refreshing with slices of pear for extra texture and sweetness. Their kimchi side dishes are prolly my favorite. They were crunchy and savory. Side note: We arrived when they just opened, and got in right away. But when we finished, there seems to be many people waiting.
I came to Kunjip specifically for their famed Seol Leong Tang, but walked away super impressed by their kimchi, Galbi Jjim, and Bibim Naeng Myun! Everything was so flavorful and tasted authentic. This is probably my favorite non-BBQ Korean restaurant in the South Bay. Friendly and efficient service. Free parking lot that fills up fast, and parking spots are narrow.

Both the service and food were excellent! The portions were generous and everything came out fresh and flavorful. We especially loved the appetizers—they were a great start to the meal. We ordered a few classic dishes and each one was well-seasoned and satisfying. Overall, it was a great dining experience and we’ll definitely be coming back.
Kunjip is a cozy spot for Korean comfort food in a strip mall alongside other Korean joints. Their cold noodles are a refreshing hit, perfect for cooling off. The beef tendon is impressively soft, practically falling apart. Spicy soup was just okay, not the star. The banchan steals the show with its fresh, vibrant flavors. Only bummer—no BBQ to grill up some fun. Still, a lively gem for a quick, tasty Korean fix!

I went to this place thinking that I would get seafood pancake because I saw it on Yelp photos. Once I arrived they didn't have it on the menu. I quickly realized that the menu is pretty limited. Looks like the main special is the braised beef $75. Despite the fact that the food was pretty good, there were more downsized that made me bring the rating down to 3/5 out of five. Probably not return here again. Because there are more options now for Korean food and they have a lot of competition. Naengmyun 4/5 I've eaten a lot of naengmyon ( cuz I'm korean 😉) This one hits all the right flavor notes. They have mustard and also vinegar on the side to adjust tastes levels. You don't see that at every Korean restaurant. The beef that they put in there is super high quality and very soft. At $20 I think it's okay. Not the best value, but if you're at this restaurant You're kind of stuck with a limited choice of options. Sellongtang 4/5: This is a bone broth soup that you need to add salt or pepper for The taste. It's traditional and very authentic. For some people it could be pretty bland. But it's what I grew up with. They nailed it. Super high quality pieces of beef. Service 5/5: Very attentive service team there. You just need to flag them down when you need something or ready to pay the bill. Downsides: Parking: 3/4 During peak hours like in the evening on a Sunday, the parking is atrocious. I spent driving around a lot about 10 minutes before I found something. Wait time : 40 mins. Busy on Sunday evening. I think if you're into the braised beef it's worth the wait. But we just ordered noodles and we could have gotten that at any of the other restaurants that was close by with less wait times. Banchan is limited . If you're accustomed to the location in mountain view, you'll quickly realize that this is a minimal version of that restaurant. In particular, the banchan is only three dishes ( kimchi, cucmber , spicy radish) compared to several dishes at typical Korean restaurants.
Their galbi-jjim is good but their side dishes and soup broth lacks in flavor. Id recommend for the galbi jjim

The flavour was rather ordinary, though the price was admittedly a tad steep at $77 quid a portion. Yet the serving was rather meagre—merely two pieces of rice cake, two florets of broccoli, and a great deal of pumpkin... I was somewhat disappointed, being a regular customer of this establishment. Previous visits had not been like this.
I ordered Maeun Galbi Jjim stew for takeout dinner, which cost $84 including tax, but I was very disappointed -- there were 7-8 pieces of bone and only 4-5 small pieces of meat.
I visited this restaurant expecting a hot bowl of gukbap, which is usually served boiling hot. However, when my food arrived, it was only slightly warm. There was steam, but it did not feel hot at all. When I tasted the broth, it was just lukewarm. I politely asked the server if this was how it was normally served, explaining that it wasn’t hot enough. Instead of acknowledging the concern, she responded dismissively by saying, “There’s steam. You see the steam, right?” That attitude was very unpleasant and unprofessional. She then asked if I wanted it reheated, but by that point, my appetite and mood were already ruined. I came in to enjoy a nice dinner, not to be talked down to. On top of that, the bean sprouts and radish in the soup were overly soft and mushy, which made the overall taste quite underwhelming. Good food is important, but respectful service matters just as much. Unfortunately, this experience fell short on both.
