Opinions de Romano's Macaroni Grill El Cerrito
My daughter invited me to dinner at Romano's Macaroni Grill where we have dined and had lunch many times since the food is delicious, with superb service and a beautiful restaurant. I had my favorite from the variety of menu selections: the Chicken Parmesan which is served with pasta. I've taken photos for you to view the dish I chose and also the one my daughter selected. We were so tired from the exhausting day that this was the place to relax and enjoy our dinner. The dishes are so abundant that our server brought us boxes to go. However, I thought my daughter had taken the to go boxes and she thought that I had taken them and we found out that wasn't so as soon as we got home. That was the first that we had forgotten the doggie bag and since we didn't want to drive back to the Grill, I suggested for my daughter to call them. They were so awesome that they said they would keep it for us to pick it up the next day which we did. If you are visiting the Bay Area, you must stop by and have either lunch or dinner at Romano's Macaroni Grill which is in the East Bay Area in El Cerrito, CA. They also have an array of desserts on the menu such as the Creme Brulee, Cheese Cake, Key Lime Pie, and so on. You can bring your children for any occasion. Enjoy!
Not a whole lot in El Cerrito it's mostly a place between over there and somewhere else, that is except for Romano's Macaroni Grill. So the next time you find yourself between two places you'd rather be..look for Romano's Macaroni Grill, it's not one of those places where everyone knows your name, and its not trying to be ..and that's a good thing. But...What it is, is a place that serves honest to goodness home-cooked style food, delivered hot with a friendly smile at a reasonable price, oh and you don't have to do the dishes! What more could you ask for! 5 stars for sure! ☆☆☆☆☆
Remeber that packed restaurant you had to wait for a table? Currently its not like that. You get a great cutomer service and in a timely manner. All of your favorites without the crowds. My only complaint was cold stuffed mushroom appetizer. Everything else was great. They even have a unlimited side salad option.
I absolutely love this place. When you sit down you get a fresh loaf of bread with some olive oil with vinegar. The Alfredo pasta is absolutely delicious. Honestly the best wether you like shrimp or chicken, it is the perfect creamy taste. I go out to eat here and go out on dates with my fiance here. Always fun to also catch a warriors game. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. I would honestly give them higher stars. I have had no bad experiences with this establishment.
Haven't been here for over a decade! Shrimp Portifino and caeser salad are my fav!!! The cannolli does not disappoint! A must try! Our server, Hollis is exceptional! Be sure to come down, ask for him and tip him BIG! ...bc he deserves it! 👏 👍👏👍👏 Macaroni Grill should recognize how well he represents their company. Completely above and beyond service!
Sebastian is a great server. He was Attentive and got our food with speed. Didn’t really try to up sale us, and got us the unlimited bread without us asking for it! We still ended up getting soup and salad and he made sure we got our refills. Best of all, He prioritized our kids! Thank you, dude!
Tonight I found out that Chipotle has tacos. So Chipotle sent me an email that if I placed an taco order I can receive a free entrée. So I went in and bought three tacos and I picked two steak and one Barbacoa soft she'll taco which were really good. I got to pick my toppings and it was filling and a pleasant surprise I will definitely order tacos again.
Havent been to Chipotle in a while, because of incorrect missing items which is frustrating, but I place an order in the morning two days ago and it was perfect portions , no missing drinks, chips ect.. Thanks you Chipotle best ever.
the best chipotle I've ever been to, consistently amazing food, rice isn't messed up. portion sizes are decent, and the staff are friendlier than the average.
I don't typically eat at Chipotle, but I'm just in town for a couple of days and this was close by. Food was surprisingly good, and the store was empty so I didn't have to wait at all. The lady filling my burrito was very generous with the portions and the establishment was very clean. I got it for takeout and everything was packaged well. If I had a chipotle like this in my hometown I'd eat there more often. Only reason I have 4/5 on service was because the lady I payed was kinda rude, but could just have been a bad day for her.
2023-11 Went to Macaroni Grill over the weekend and got the lasagne. It surprised me that is was quite tasty! I liked it. Something I would recommend or definitely get again. 3 yrs ago Today, the food chosen was good.
I don't frequent Chipotle because of the pricing BUT when I do, I make sure to order online because of the digital deals and rewards. I usually get a double protein bowl under their lifestyle bowl option that's pricing is only available online. I seek grass-fed protein to avoid ingesting harmful things in commercial meats so this makes it easy to eat out without the additives. There aren't a ton of places where you can get grass-fed meats and simple ingredients so keep that in mind when you're paying for your items. This particular location in El Cerrito has always provided friendly service
Delicious food but slow and understaffed. Even if there’s only a few people in line, they are not able to take your order in a timely manner because they seem to be very backed up on takeout orders from the moment they open. I can hear employees talking in the back while the person in the front is clearly struggling, and the line is backing up throughout the store. I’ve never had a problem with my food here, I just feel bad for the employees because they’re clearly understaffed and could use some extra help or better management.
Pretty good food, pretty tasty. My only complaint is that it seems a bit pricey for the overall quality of the food. We got an appetizer, 2 entrees, 2 side dishes and dessert (no alcohol) and it was $120.00 for 2 people. It could have been $150+ if we had drinks on top of that. The food was decent, but I expect better at this price point.
Very fast service. Food wasn't super hot. Meal felt rushed. The restaurant wasn't very busy as it was midweek. Our server was accommodating with letting us choose a table to sit at.
Feels like its barely keeping the lights on. For a while the sign doesn't light up anymore. Also the bread is no longer the macaroni grill bread but rather safeway style French bread with a cheaper balsamic than normal it seems. Also they are always out of items. Not just specials but basic items from the menu. Just feels like its 1 health scare away from permanently turning off the lights inside as well. Each time we have gone there seems to be fewer and fewer people unfortunately as well.
Like the interior design, the fare is a pastiche of Italian food. Lacking being cooked with love, it should be cooked with skill. For the price point, not much of either was evident. The single server was very nice but she was the only one.
First visit to Romano's in several years and first time visiting this location. Went here before 6pm on Friday and not busy at all and was seated quickly. The fococia bread was hard on the bottom and not quite as fresh. Penne rustica was hot and don't think I would order the mix of chicken and shrimp on the future. It was tasty but little too fishy sauce. Chicken marsala was good. Service was attentive and courteous. I wasn't wowed compared to past visits to other locations. Not a strong recommend for me.
’m not sure, since this was a takeout order from Uber Eats. The food was, honestly, far below expectations. I ordered a chicken Alfredo that barely had any chicken. The spaghetti Bolognese also seemed to have almost no beef. The $10 cheesecake was tiny and felt like something you could get at a supermarket with better quality. The menu is similar to the cheese cake factory, however cheese cake factory 's portion and ingrident is much better.
The food tastes okay or better. I've been going here nearly monthly for he last year and the best thing on the menu is the tiramisu. Their espresso machine has been broken at every visit yet espresso is still on the well-worn, beaten up menus. They never have decaf coffee. It's hit or miss if they'll have San Pellegrino water (not the sweetened soda). The service is usually very slow despite the fact that it's not a busy time (1:30 - 2:00 ish). It's like they didn't take pride in their place anymore.
Well, let me tell you, Romano's Macaroni Grill ain't exactly Nonna's kitchen. Let's start with the good stuff: the location is pretty convenient with plenty of parking, which is always nice. We strolled in at 5 PM on a Sunday, and the place was practically a ghost town. When we walked in, we were greeted by the hostess, but it was a little odd when she just pointed to some booths in the bar area and told us to go sit in one of those. She followed us with an extra plate for the third person in our party and mentioned that the server would be right with us. Well, it took about 10 minutes of sitting there before our server finally showed up and asked what we wanted for dinner. We decided to start with an appetizer and drinks—three sodas for the table seemed simple enough. But both the sodas and the calamari took their sweet time to arrive. There was only one other table in our section, so what was the holdup? We were promised bread when we arrived and were told it was on its way, but it never showed up. Once our main courses came, the disappointment really set in. The Pollo Caprese was underwhelming with tomatoes that were barely passable and massive chunks of what was supposed to be mozzarella. At this point, we asked for the bread again, and the server said, "Oh, I didn't think you wanted it, I didn't put the order in." The bread was a non negotiable for us. Yes, always bring bread. The Italian chopped salad was equally sad, with lettuce that looked and felt lifeless. When our drinks were running low, we had to remind the server for refills, and he looked at us like it was the first time he'd ever heard of such a thing. For the price, this place ain't worth it. If the service was good but the food was so-so, or if the food was great but the service was lacking, maybe I could overlook it. But when both the service and the food are subpar, forget about it. We won't be coming back.
Yesterday myself and 2 family members went to this location. The store wasn't busy and no actual host on duty, the bartender helped seat us. Our waitress took our order and introduced herself and we all kindly greeted her. The booth we were sitting had 2 sets of silverware, the waitress took our order. Even after delivering our food she never took note that 1 of us was missing silverware. We we're there for about an hour enjoying each others company food and drinks. She never came to check on us , as a matter of fact all of the staff seemed angry and inattentive in general. My family has attended this restaurant for over 2 decades and I will never return. This store was a place my mother and aunts made a staple.
Food is fresh here but the portions are really bad. Service is also slow here even when no one’s in the store. I also got overcharged.
Food was really good but I notice how a Mexican lady that work there called the workers stupid and slow to another coworker in Spanish i found that kind of disturbing and the lady also bagged my food and just tossed it in there and I left out with a leaking bag because of her I still ate my food though because I spent a lot of money on it
I’ve been a regular at this place for some time now, and the food quality has always been consistently great. However, during my recent visit, I did experience some service issues that I’d like to highlight. The unlimited soup and salad, which are usually a delightful part of the dining experience here, were not refilled even once throughout our meal. Additionally, the famous bread and oil, which I always look forward to, were served after the main meal, and only because I inquired about their absence. The same goes for the water service
Everything is looking good and taste terrible here except the bread they provided for everyone. The pasta are way too salty that make me and my aunt unable to finish it. The brussel sprouts are overcooked which made it too bitter. The table and plate was not very clean. There are even flies flying around. Very disappointed for spending that much of money.
It was very bad food and service. My wife and I both ended up having stomach problems next morning. My wife ordered spaghetti and they were out of it. Which Italian restaurant runs out of pasta! And that too took them 15 mins to tell us they don’t have the food we ordered. After ordering food in an empty restaurant on Sunday it took them well over 30 mins to get the food. I would not go back there and also I would not recommend anyone to go there. I normally don’t write bad reviews but this restaurant had very low quality and quantity of food for the price they were charging.
It is a Thursday and barley 3pm....their calamari is already out and that is one thing I wanted and the Crispy Brussel Sprouts. That's how you know they are delicious! So far I had the Rosa's Signature Caesar salad, there's signature Mac and cheese bites and they're spicy ricotta meatballs. To be honest, the spicy supercut meatballs could have been cooked a little more. The signature mac and cheese not really up to my flavor taste but still okay. My server I do apologize but he should have been sent home, he's under the weather and very forgetful. Okay well I just wanted to come for some appetizers, and I am trying. I'm leaving here trying their Italian Long Island ice tea!
Don’t believe what they say there actually closed at 10:30 so if ur tryna come after ur just waisting ur time. Not sure if that’s a new policy for the doors to be closed at 10:30 but yeah.
Attitude, not at all friendly. They are charging $12 for a bowl with a half spoon of meat. They will never have to worry about me coming back here. Heard bad things about it a while ago. I thought I may have changed. I shouldn't have stopped. Nothing like other Chipotle's I've been to.
Bring back the Honey Chicken please, the regular chicken is so boring. I will write a better review once the honey chicken is back.
If they don’t wanna give you a nice portion, just ask for a side of everything as long as it’s not meat, they won’t charge you Thanks to the Hispanic lady around mid 30’s working up front, at around 2 this afternoon. Don’t forget to grab your extra napkins and forks. This is the only location that did this, & I’ve been to several locations. Hilltop isn’t that far.
I was extremely disappointed with my meal. After finishing my food and cleaning the bowl dry, I noticed a hair at the bottom. It was definitely not mine, which made the experience even more disgusting. This raises serious concerns about cleanliness and food handling at this establishment. I expect much better hygiene standards from any restaurant. Unfortunately, this experience has completely put me off from ordering here again. I hope they take food safety more seriously in the future.
I ordered food delivery with my coworker today ,I spent $31 for a salad chips and queso and a side of guacamole. They of course forgot my chips for the millionth time and this is how much salad dressing they gave me for this big salad. How is that fair? I would order them so much more if they could just get my order right once. I have wasted so much money through the years at this location for food I did not recieve. I managed a restaurant for years so it takes a lot for me to complain. But this is literally the 15th time they did not send my chips. Which is my fav part.
I really liked chipotle. Every time I was hungry I'd consider it due to the general portions and affordable prices. However, lately I've had nothing but disappointments, being the last one that at this branch today. I ordered online to collect. I've to wait until everybody in the line got served (what's the point of having an order to pick up system if it's much faster going there in person?). Just to be asked for my name and asked me to wait .. After 15 minutes of wait, I could leave the premises with a bad with 2 cold burritos. At home, after warm them up, I realised that the person who prepared by burrito used either very thick or three tortillas. Additionally, the ingredients weren't mixed at all. This was a frustrating and disappointing experience. Please don't waste your time and money in this place. Ps: I'm still hungry
It’s giving discrimination! Does this look like a meal that’s supposed to have meat, extra lettuce, and salsa no !! I order the same thing every time I order and today someone tried to be funny so I’m being PETTY!!!!! I’m sitting here eating it and like it’s tasts off and start to peep the proportions like…. why am I sitting here eating SOURCREAM RICE for dinner instead of my usual 🥴 don’t ever be stingy with ingredients I payed for! chipotle get it together boo 😒
