Great little place to have breakfast. the food was good and hot, and it was served really fast, surprisingly. Highly recommended 👌

Very good breakfast! 1st time visiting during covid. Called for an order for takeout this morning (valentines day), order was ready within 10 minutes, and the woman was super sweet. Ordered the challah French toast and one of their classic breakfasts. The biscuits are very yummy! Go out and support them!

Small neighborhood fave restaurant with great food. Biscuits were delicious! Healthy portions and friendly service, too! Highly recommend!

This place is excellent! We discovered it a few weeks ago when we were nearby for an East Bay errand. It was so delicious we came all the way back from SF on the weekend to try the corned beef special. Also had the Firenza omelette with crispy bacon added, & both plates were scrumptious. Cannot say enough about the incredible biscuits - fluffy inside with a delicate crispy top. So dang good! Go & get some!

Amazing food. Smooth service

They seated us outside with our dog. Brought her a few dog treats. Burger was exquisite. Wife got the odd pancake meal and it knocked our socks off! I would order that next time. Great food, but the lovely servers made the meal.

We used to go to this place when it was Nib’s, run by the great Hannah and Jeff. Then there was a kitchen fire and the building had to have asbestos mitigation. It’s been open as H & J’s for awhile now, and we just tried it for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely fabulous! Great food and service! Reasonable prices. Only one minor caveat: the constant disco beat.

You would never know how great this place is by seeing it as you drive down San Pablo. I rarely enjoy breakfast out but I love this place! High quality, home cooked food. Great menu and atmosphere. You can tell everyone there is enjoying the food and service as much as you are. Just a great restaurant.

Small, sparsely-decorated little place with a tented outdoor space. The food and service are excellent, there’s a good variety of breakfast options and they’re really attentive in our experience. Great little neighborhood restaurant.

I've passed this place many times. Today I finally stopped here! I will do it again. They have a great menu. The food was fresh and tasty. I highly recommend H&J's for good food and good service. I feel a family feeling here. I also noticed good napkins, water was chilled in a nice clean glass, and plenty of food on the plate.

We decided to try it when it reopened. This is our new favorite breakfast place. Good food amount, the waffles are so soft and just the right cruch-great flavor. My favorite plate is the classic! Eggs over hard, beans, bacon and freshly brewed coffee. The southwest beans have such a savory taste. There's always blackberry or strawberry jam on the tables for that sweet tooth. Plenty of natural light, service is great.

H&J is a cozy breakfast restaurant with hospitality. There is a private parking lot for easy access. The service is fast and friendly. We received our meal within 10 minutes of ordering. I ordered the classic with sausage and biscuits. Everything was cooked to perfection. The portions were big. The biscuits are light and fluffy. The price was very reasonable, it feels like a great deal. This restaurant is worth repeat visits.

The value here is amazing, as is the food and the friendly and attentive service. An AMAZING breakfast/, brunch spot, fashioned after Inn Kensington, and owned by the same family. The portions are massive and the home made biscuits are nothing but magical.

Treat yourself to breakfast at H&J! You’re worth it. The food is amazing and the staff is so nice. I cant recommend the biscuits enough and the weekend Biscuits and Gravy special will never let you down. 🤤

Sunday morning I’m at work starving and i google for some local eats ! Boom h&j pops up . I skim over the menu and i see this scramble that’s sounds amazing. I call in the order they guy tells me 10 mins . I jokingly say good I’m already outside (Told you i was hungry ) 🤣 ! Let’s say this did not disappoint! Very fulfilling and i has leftovers . Next time I’ll have to bring my family to sit down and eat .

Homemade corned beef hash is delicious! Topped with 2 eggs, any style. I went with over easy, and the eggs were cooked perfectly! Opted for the biscuits sted of toast. Plenty of food and took one biscuit to enjoy at home.

My favorite breakfast spot. The coffee is exceptionally tasty. Freshly squeezed orange juice. Great menu variety with high quality fresh food. I highly recommend.

Open only for breakfast and lunch, their Specialty is omelettes brimming over with all kinds of good things to eat and some unusual combinations as well. I actually had their waffles With challah bread. My friend had the Jennifer, one of the “Js” Omelette with bacon, avocado, and chicken. We learned from our very friendly and truthful, waitress that this little restaurant was actually opened up y the owner of the Inn Kensington for his children to run. You guessed it.., All is for children’s name start with the letter . We also had a couple lattes to go with meal.

Was pleasantly surprised by the level of food and service. The house made wheat bread was a highlight. I am for sure going back and would definitely recommend.

Nice clean, bright space with great coffee and tasty food. Omelette was perfect size and came with 2 biscuits and lovely home fries! Looking forward to visiting again.

We were there the other day. On a rainy Saturday morning. Great menu. I loved the corn cilantro pancake in Jennifer’s favorite. My only problem was that the food was not very hot. I will go back again. And I hope this restaurant will be around for a long time

Nice family style diner. This was my second time visiting, the waffle is good, biscuits are decent (made in house), portions could be better given the prices. Cost $33 dollars for two, breakfast with no beverages. Overall a grading of B

Nice, clean restaurant. Price is fair. The potatoes, bacon and sausage we had with our meals were burnt. They don't serve white bread, just biscuits or sourdough. It was slow when we got there. Expected a much better breakfast meal.

Wish they would do some cleanup around the restaurant. Sidewalk is getting deep with leaves and trash. Really looks bad. At least the previous ownership kept things clean.
