Consistent excellence in all entrees. We especially like the Ahi Tuna and Mushini appetizers. Great atmosphere and service. But for dinner, always call for a reservation. Wait times for walk-ins can be an hour or more! It's arguably worth the wait, but call and save your time.

Stopped by cause I was craving seafood. Wasn't a special occasion but man did it feel like one! Our server Dakota, made the evening so great with her recommendations and great service. Will definitely be back! If you get an appetizer, make it the stuffed mushrooms; little small but the flavor is amazing!

Beautiful hideaway place on the Westside! The service is always outstanding. Seafood is fresh & delicious every time-there's no fishy smell any where in the restaurant. Mixed drinks & desserts are fabulous. Go on Thursday nights & hear a very talented and entertaining jazz band. This place is amazing! You feel like you're on a fabulous vacation at some beautiful seaside seaport. We visit frequently. Highly recommend this outstanding restaurant!

Excellent lunch at the bar. My Crab Cake appetizer and Mud Pie desert were delicious. Dakota recommended both and I concur. She provided attentive service during my leisurely lunch. This was the first time I have eaten here since the last century and the atmosphere was good. Not as crowded during lunch as I expected but...

First time here. Amazing. The atmosphere is the perfect combination of casual and classy. Service on point. The ONLY complaint I can find with the food was slightly soggy steak fries (and that's being nitpicky). Best blue cheese dressing I've had anywhere - I mean, how often do you comment on blue cheese dressing lol. Drinks were perfect. Best calamari I've had anywhere. Not cheap but within reason for what you're getting. Meat was great. Fish was great. 100% will be back!

One of the most established restaurants in West El Paso. Great place with a menu that offers something for everyone. The Steaks are impressive, the seafood is fresh and the pastas are serious dishes. Service is friendly and confident.

J

Food is amazingly good! Overall, they get really busy. Small, cozy, kinda loud, which you can hear almost anyone's conversations. But I would recommend going at least once. I will also say it is pricey, but worth it.

M

I moved here from the Central Coast of California, and we love this place. The seafood is incredible, especially the bar pelican and the bacon wrapped scallops. The bartenders are awesome too. The best place ever!

New Year's Eve dinner. Although they were full they were able to accommodate us. Service is prompt and friendly from the hostess to the waitress to the manger stopping by to check on us. The food was delivered quickly. The timing between course was perfect. The food itself was delicious. From salad through entree to dessert and coffee. We could not ask for better. We will certainly return.

My family took me for New Years Eve 2024. Wow. Jim came by our table to bless with a New Years blessing. Salad with award winning blue cheese dressing. Grilled artichoke and oysters Rockefeller. Amazing. Finale was huge lobster sweet tail with tender prime rib. This sealed a year of hard work. Glad I reserved a table. The line outside waiting to get proves Pelicans is westside diamond of our city El Paso. We love our city.

Went to Pelican's on a special date. Always wanted to try it but never had. The place was packed but our experience was excellent. The food was very good. Our server was great. I hardly leave reviews but this place was outstanding for us.

I am a frequent client of Pelican’s from long time ago, and I have tried many dishes from here. Today, I wrote this because I was completely amazed with their Chilean sea bass. Omg the complements of the dish were just spot on without loosing the delicious savoring of the fish. This dish is one in a lifetime, completely recommended.

Pelican’s has always been one of our favorites in El Paso. The quality of their food is always consistent & delicious. Never a disappointment. Since Covid happened, we’ve been ordering via curbside, and we’ve been very happy with how organized and quick this process has been. If you love good seafood, it’s a must in El Paso.

N
Noelle Parris

The sea bass dish was excellent (and perfectly cooked). The seasoning of the fish and sauce, the spinach and bleu cheese in the dish, just delicious. I really enjoyed the Caesar salad. All the salads at our table were large portions - so be prepared for a lot of food! The service was very good, and our server (Wendy? I'm sorry if that wasn't her name) was lovely. Definitely a will-visit-again place.

This was our first time here and we were very happy all around . But I did want to mention on our server by the name of Sam. She was super kind, attentive and very helpful in giving us suggestions on what to try out . It was nice and taken note of , due to many young servers being the opposite of this. We appreciate the staff, food, holiday theme and location .

The real problem with Pelican's is that all their food is just so good. That you decide what you want before hand and then change your mind when you get there. What a first world problem to have.

Wow, absolutely fantastic. Alejandra was our waitress and she went over and beyond to make our experience great. The prime rib literally melted in your mouth and didn’t have too much fat, the King Crab was excellent, fresh, extra large, and delightful. The sea bass knocked my socks off! The mud pie desert has enormous and enough for 3-people. The owner Jimmy is running around making sure everything is running smooth. Pelican’s never disappoints!

Considering the distance from any deep water, this is the best we've had in the area. Server was outstanding for a b-day celebration. Booze choices were great as well. Feels like an old school surf and turf restaurant from the 70's and 80's, think Summer Rental movie. Great option for an occasional dinner out!

Absolutely love this place! Pelicans never disappoints. Tried pretty much the entire menu and can’t complain about a single dish. My favorites are definitely calamari, oyster Rockefeller ,fish and chips (the best in town) and their house salad with the house dressing! Everything is 10/10! Highly recommend!

Came in as soon as they opened on a Wednesday. Was waited on by Tara and she was amazing! She never let our drinks go dry. Only thing I wish is that the tortillas on my fish tacos had been heated up. Still a 5 star experience though

N
Nadia S

Always delicious. This last time, steak was overcooked, but usually, it's perfect and really delicious. They offered free dessert, which was fine, but I really didn't want dessert, and it would have been better to get an appetizer comped. Fried mushrooms & zuchini (mushini) and Rockefeller are a must when I go. Fish tacos are good, too.

My favorite restaurant in El Paso. Excellent seafood especially the quality of fish provided. The bartenders menu is my fave in town. You’ll never get disappointed once with the quality and elegance you’ll receive here. My Dad and his side of the family are all from the Bay Area of San Francisco. We’re familiar with seafood of what it should be like and not the based recipes you’ll see in this town or this side of the states especially since we’re so far from the ocean. Not going to name any other restaurants that lack the elegance and taste of their “seafood” but they should come to Pelican’s to at least match the Bay Area quality of seafood they provide for their entrees. It’s absolutely incredible that it feels like you’re eating at one of the many restaurants at Half Moon Bay or at “The Fish Market” restaurants up and down the west coast. I said the best, I also meant the #1 seafood restaurant in El Paso as well. In fact, my family and I will be visiting for dinner tonight as I’m craving it while I type this review. Cheers!

My steak and lobster was cooked to perfection. My old fashion and Manhattan were perfect. I will definitely be back and will be recommending this place highly. A little bit pricey but definitely worth every penny!!! My waitress, bartender, and cook went above and beyond in hospitality!!! Definitely made our evening out a night to remember!!!

Tonight’s meal was delicious. Everyone at our table enjoyed their food. I hadn’t been back ti Pelicans for several years and I’m sure glad we came tonight for a birthday dinner. I had the trout piccata and it was very good. I can’t wait to go back.

I went here because of the reviews and stars. The food is fantastic. We ordered 2 appetizers, muscles and calamari. The calamari was long and thick. Not the circular, they are better quality and taste much better than the usual circle kind. The appetizers were amazing. The entrees were- salmon with mushrooms. The salmon was overcooked, but it tasted good. The mushrooms were incredibly flavorful. Fish and chips. The fish was cooked well. Still moist and flaked apart when it was bitten off. Sweet potato fries had a perfect crisp and had a good hint of salt sprinkled on them. Sirloin meal was perfect. The steak was cooked just right and flavored deliciously. The price for lobster was a little high though its lobster. Presentation was lovely and was devoured quickly. The butter comes in a warmer. Made the fancy feel. What is not pictured is the bacon cheese burger with thick french fries. It was requested for the burger to be cooked medium. It didn't come out that way. Definitely well done, but it was still eaten and enjoyed. The kids meal, teriyaki chicken was fantastic. Moist chicken with a burst if pineapple teriyaki flavor. Our waiter was great. Unfortunately I don't remember his name. He was very attentive and explained every detail we asked for. He had to go back to get prices for certain things that were not priced, which is expected. We never had an empty glass and he was constantly checking to make sure we were good. We called prior to arriving when it opened and a table was reserved for us. You do have to walk around with a mask and enter with a mask but while you eat it can be removed. There was no thermometer check for fever as some restaurants do. We sat in the front room surrounded by windows. Only 2 tables were open in that section because of the limited # of capacity during Covid. The restaurant was cool and clean. Plenty of space between the tables. There are a lot of interesting reads along the walls of the restaurant. I can see why they have been recognized for being one of the best. I'd highly recommend for anyone to go. When I return I will definitely treat myself to dessert.

Went here for a birthday dinner. Our waitress, Esmerelda, was a delight, and kept track of what we needed effortlessly. The food was as good as I’ve ever found, just wonderful. The bacon-wrapped scallops were exceptional. Wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend. 5 stars across the board.

D

I absolutely love this place. I was hesitant the first time I came here and ordered the charred ribeye, but it was awesome. Every time we're at home deciding where to go eat and this place comes up, we all agree they have the best steak in the city. It doesn't matter what time or what day you come. If you order a medium rare steak, that's what you get. Service is always great, and the food comes out quick. 5 stars all the way. Update to my previous post on December 22nd, 2023 For last-minute dinner plans, we decided to come here. This place was packed. The environment was kinda chaotic, but it's 100% understandable. We were a last-minute reservation, and then when we sat at a table, we asked for a booth. Another group who had asked for a booth didn't like the booth location, so we ended up getting their's. The staff was completely understanding and accommodating. Our server Joey was amazing. There was not a second of my evening that I look3d at my glass and wondered why my glass hadn't been refilled. Yea, the food did take a while to come out, but when it did come, it was as always cooked to perfection. That with great service you don't mind the wait, especially when you know the only reason why it took a little while was because of the overwhelming holiday rush. I still give this place 5 stars. I love this place.

Pelican’s was the perfect surprise place for my birthday and Valentine’s Day. The food was exceptional, including the calamari and clam chowder. I got the Pasta Del Mar which had the most seafood, and the charbroiled steak, crab stuffed mushrooms and side mushrooms (what is the recipe for those mushrooms???) were also delicious and very fresh. The atmosphere was relaxing but private. My partner and I went on a cruise before COVID that was the best vacation we ever took. Eating at Pelican’s made me feel like I was back - very romantic. The service was also excellent...our waitress was attentive to our every need, checking back frequently but not too often. She also surprised us with a birthday cheesecake that was great. I forgot to take pictures before digging in but I attached some anyway. Overall, a great choice by my partner. Don’t miss the calamari or mushrooms. 10/10.

THE BEST PLACE TO GET GREAT SERVICE AND GREAT FOOD! So hard to find a place that still provides excellent service along with delicious food. The hostess, Alexis was extremely sweet and very welcoming. Our server, Joey was at the top of his game. Our drinks were constantly being filled and he made sure everything came out perfect. The manager, Ceci checked on our table and made sure our experience was the way it should be. My favorite place to eat. The charred ribeye is out of this world and the wedge salad is mouth watering. Compliments to the kitchen staff for knowing how to cook steaks, unlike other steak houses who “speacialize” in steaks. Thank u Joey and Celia.10/10!

Lucked out with seating available even during a holiday rush. They were packed, but not too loud. The lighting was enough to see but not blaring. Service was great. You could tell they were full, but when the waiter made the rounds he was very quick to come with back with refills and the food was delivered hot. So, even though they were busy, they were on it. Most importantly the food was excellent. Our steaks were a perfect medium (the way we ordered them), shrimp big and crispy, and very enjoyable. Will definitely be back sometime when we're in El Paso.

Pelican's is always on point with their food and drinks. I have been going there for dinner for over 10 years. The steaks are juicy and well prepared, the salad is crisp and cold, and the martinis are great. Pelican's is of consistent quality.

Consistently delicious food and exceptional service. Definitely make a reservation here as it can get busy. It is an el paso staple. They have a great happy hour as well. I usually get the grilled artichoke, wedge salad, both sooooo good! I got the fish of the day which was halibut with some bell peppers and a baked potato. The fish was seasoned and cooked just right. It was so much food I had to take leftovers home, but that halibut held up the next day and was just as good. One of my favorite restaurants here.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very pleasant. Unfortunately, on our first visit, we had a disagreement with the person at the bar bringing drinks to the table. I didn't ask her name; she's a tall, thin woman with shoulder-length black hair. She made the wrong order for our drinks, and when my husband mentioned the situation, she was very rude. Other than that, the waitress was great and the food was delicious. Don't let bad service ruin everything!

The oysters, shrimp monterrey and wedge, for me! My husband's filet-mignon was epic. Lisa at the bar is the best. Her attention to detail is really impressive. Also, she clearly take pride in Pelicans, like she's an owner/invester. The broiled garlic cloves w/ the bread and the house-made blue-cheese-dressing, are some of the little things that set this restaurant apart from others. It's been a consistent classic for years. Tonight though, we enjoyed the best service Pelicans has ever offered.

We had an excellent experience at Pelican’s Steak & Seafood. The food was outstanding, with a great selection of steaks and seafood, all cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. The service was attentive and friendly without being intrusive, which made the experience even better. Had a really nice time there. My waitress (short hair, white) was really nice with us, she brought a cheesecake since it was my birthday, also she made good suggestions on the menu and was checking on us constantly. Good was excellent, topless oysters were fresh and delicious, their signature prime rib did not disappoint but was a bit heavy on the fat. Pina coladas were very good. Dining at Pellicans is a memorable experience. From the very first bite, you can tell the seasoning has that special touch—rich, authentic, and reminiscent of true Mexican home cooking. Every dish is prepared with care, and the flavors are perfectly balanced. The service is equally impressive: friendly, attentive staff who make you feel genuinely welcome. And the desserts? Absolutely delicious—the perfect sweet finish to an already great meal. In short, Pellicans shines in every way: food, service, and atmosphere. A must-visit for anyone looking for a flavorful and satisfying dining experience.

Not bad at all. I went with my family on a Tuesday evening. The place was thriving, but not full. The first thing that hit me was the lighting, it was quite dark, which is something I do not like in a restaurant. Ok, anyways. Food. There's a nice menu that's not that big, but with plenty of options. I got the charred ribeye and it was very good. I asked for a medium and they nailed it. It was flavorful and tender. My wife had pasta with calamari, shrimp and something else I can't remember, and it was good, although a bit over seasoned in my humble opinion. Service was pretty good and I have no complaints. She was attentive and kind. The prices were as expected, not that expensive, not cheap. I believe the value was just right. You get what you pay for. As I said at the beginning, the one thing I didn't like was the cavernous atmosphere. Oddly enough the most lighted space was the bar area, while the rest of the tables were dimly lit. One of the pictures I attached was taken with the flashlight because of how dark it was. All in all, I'd go back.

Pelicans has been by far one of my favorite restaurants in El Paso since I was young. It makes me nostalgic because it was my mom's and continues to be my dad's favorite as well. They have always had delicious food and outstanding service. I recently went with friends to celebrate my birthday and had a wonderful time. My salmon was cooked to perfection, as usual, and our server even went out of his way, bringing us a delicious cheese cake (my favorite) with strawberries and a candle singing happy birthday to me. I truly appreciated this. Thank you, Pelicans, for an incredible experience!

My family and I had been wanting to go to Pelicans for awhile. I had never been before so I did not know what to expect. I love seafood and all I wanted for my birthday was a good seafood dinner. My family and I decided to celebrate at Pelicans. We drove almost 20 minutes to arrive at this oasis in the middle of the Chihuahuan desert. It was a Monday night, semi busy, and they willingly and cheerfully accommodated our party of 12. We did make reservations the day before. Our waitress, Carla, was outstanding. She had a great attitude, attended us often and did her best to make sure we had an enjoyable time. I started off with a Pelicans Mezcal Margarita which gave me an enjoyable buzz through out the evening. For appetizers I tried the calamari and mussels. Both were great. The butter of the mussels increased the flavor and experience. The appetizers were finished down to the shell. For the main entree I had the Cold Water Lobster Tail with garlic mashed potatoes and a bowl of New England clam chowder. The New England clam chowder was perfect. Very rich, creamy and full of flavor. I added some roasted garlic that comes with the complimentary bread to the clam chowder for some extra garlic flavor. That's just because I like garlic. The garlic mashed potatoes were great. I usually eat my mashed potatoes with gravy but these potatoes did not need gravy. Last but not least, the Lobster Tail. It's not easy to make a perfect Lobster tail, especially since it's a delicacy. I would say that Pelicans did a perfect job. The Lobster was cooked just right. It was very tender, delicious, had that slight sweetness you'd hope for, and the side of lemon and butter just increased the experience. You really don't need the butter or lemon, but I like the added flavor. Even the rice under the Lobster was great. It soaked up the butter and dripping flavors while eating the Lobster. The rice made a great addition to the plate. By the time we were all done eating, everyone's plates were cleaned, and everyone was full and happy! Thank you Pelican's for an enjoyable birthday dinner. We will be back for more!

My wife spotted this restaurant over 6 months ago. Having a big family delayed us ever visiting. Fast forward to the day of our wedding anniversary, being the procrastinator that I am, I have to come up with something. I set up a reservation with Google assist for 7 pm at 1 pm. Reservation went flawless, even with us showing up 30 minutes early. They accommodated us immediately. I mentioned to the gentleman that greeted us, behind my wife's back, that it was our anniversary (who we assume is the owner later during our dinner.) Once we were seated, we received prompt service. Every question we had, our waiter had an answer to. Absolute service professional. Having tried multiple places, we have yet to find a place that could do calamari "right." This establishment hit a grand slam with their calamari. The stuffed mushrooms are the only thing we could remotely have a complaint about, but at no fault to the restaurant. Since my wife has an allergy to most seafood, she was unable to eat the stuffed mushrooms due to some kind of seafood that was included (or so we think.) Our fault for not asking, and no biggie. I downed them easily. We were a little puzzled with the salads that were served, but after seeing salads served to a table next to us, we realized that we must have ordered the wrong type of salad. Again, our fault, and we ate our salads with a smile. The steaks were on point and cooked to a perfect medium-rare. Lobster is, by nature, a tougher seafood item, but this establishment did not overcook it. If you like jumbo shrimp, then you will love this place. The wine was excellent, and that's coming from a couple that just returned from living in Italy for 3 years. Now that our meal is over, I mention to our server that we needed to go (cause I had other plans set up,) and he informed me that we still had desert coming, complimentary due to it being our anniversary. Cheesecake for each of us. I said thank you and to only serve one instead of two. There was also a mariachi band playing. Now this will not be a routine outing for us, because it is a bit pricey, but I believe it was worth every penny and would love to go back. This is currently our top on occasion location. We were amazed to see this restaurant packed, on a Wednesday, with a bit more of a pricy menu. We knew we were in for a great dining experience, and this place did not disappoint.

The food here is exceptional but a little pricey for surf and turf. That being said, it was worth every penny. Our bill for 6 adults and 3 small children was almost $700. Most of the adults are active duty military so we asked for the military discount they advertise on the menu and we received $11 off our bill. It’s nice that they offer military discount, but I don’t think that can really be considered military discount. I’m from the Pacific Northwest and this was the best seafood I’ve had! The ambiance is also quite relaxing.

A pretty good restaurant. Wait time was a bit long, and they wouldn't seat our party of 14 until we were all there, even though our table was set up and waiting for us, so we had to jam into the small waiting area until everyone arrived. Started out slow with the wait staff, but eventually picked up. Food was good, entrees averaging around $22 each. An odd combination of a trendy yet rustic seaside atmosphere, but still kinda worked.

I ordered the stuffed mushrooms and honestly they were tasty but very small and when the server brought them I asked if this was half an order. It literally filled up only half the plate they were served in. I recommend add 2-3 more small mushrooms and make it look like a full order or use a smaller plate. I probably won’t order those again for the price but Pelicans always have the best oysters there!

Food was excellent old school, maybe a tad too southern style… Someone started decorating their Christmas tree right in front of our table with last year’s decorations. WOW! we moved but really?

We were celebrating the New Year at Pelican’s. I read a ton of reviews so we would have a good idea of what we wanted to order. We were torn between the fillet mignon and the crusted ribeye. Based on the server’s recommendation we chose the ribeye. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. We ordered medium and it was definitely well done. No pink center. But the real disappointment was all of the fat in the meat. And it wasn’t tender. So it was not as expected. We also ordered the fish and chips. So good as always. We will keep eating there, as we have for years, but not order the ribeye again.

Great atmosphere and great service. The food is usually really good. I think it was our menu choices that didn’t pair well overall. But we’ve been here before and the food is always great.

Stop wondering what to order, let me make a recommendation to you, their signature Charred Rib Eye, period. Its a 16oz rib eye rubbed and grilled with Pelican's secret sweet and spicy sauce, and served with grilled spring onion. Rather than some type of sauce, it's in fact a combination of various types of spices, which perfectly goes with rib eye, totally brings the essence of beef out. Go for it 😁

I frequent here. Service is always excellent. Food is always good but there were a couple occasions where there were rude employees. On an occasion a rude hostess maybe because we arrived 20 minutes prior to closing. Then on another occasion we had a party of about 10 people a man appeared to have been a busser, assuming I don’t understand Spanish was making distasteful comments because we initially told them only 6 and had to move to a bigger table. Hence 3 stars.

Always love the food but this trip we told the server no mushrooms due to an allergy but when he got his food the rice was full of mushrooms. The oysters were on point

Steak looked good but lacked flavor. Also, felt unwelcome as the wait staff seem to disappear when needed. Music was good.

Went on 2/21. Noticed that the fries on the Fish/Chips plate are not too plentiful anymore. Garden Salad plate getting smaller. Iceberg wedge with bacon/Bluecheese around $8+. House Margarita around $15. This is getting ridiculous. Wanted to go for my birthday next month. Don't thinks so. Too bad.

The wife and I went there recently. The food quality wasn't really on point with the pricing. The staff was kind, and the atmosphere was nice. If you're looking for top notch seafood, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

Service was very aloof and despondent; someone at the bar had to complain to the bartender to have our server check on us, it got so bad. And no one even asked them to do that. So, by definition, objectively below average service experience. Food was rich, but lacking any robustness or depth I was expecting for this rating. A really great mushroom appetizer was the lone exception. I don't know if I will return or not.

I had the soup/salad (clam chowder) with glass of Sangria. Very disappointed with the soup. It was just a white liquid, didn't have almost anything in it. Was very tasteless. Salad was good. When my bill came, I was charged separate for soup and salad, however, the menu showed it together for $13.95. When I questioned it, was told, I should've ordered the bread bowl of soup with salad. Which was not even on the menu! ( I would've preferred the bread bowl). And, the glass of Sangria was also not very good. Service was slow, and though the restaurant was full of customers, I noticed they had plenty of staff. Overall, I spent over $38 (two drinks...Margarita and a Sangria), soup and salad. VERY disappointed. I don't think the manager and/or owner of restaurant ever reads these reviews, and I didn't complain at the restaurant. The young waitress are not the ones to complain to. There were three of us, and were there from about 5:45 pm to 8:35 pm. I don't think they gave us the "happy hour" prices on our drinks, either. Very disappointed.

Food was good, other than the fact that while eating a burger, I found wax paper and the prime rib I ordered was cooked and not rare like I had asked. Also, the waiter who served us payed very little attention to our table, I get that it was a busy night but at least try.

We had a bad service experience, it was our first time here, celebrating my wife's birthday only us and our 2 kids, THE SERVER WAS ONE OF THE WORST SERVERS IN ELP, we got to Pellicans right at opening, we were his 1st customers, he had some attitude, never offered the bread with butter that is served at the beginning, ( it was our 1st time did not knew we were supposed to get it) we find out at the end that tables around us were getting it. I ordered a side with my Dish and he said it was not included in a bad tone, on the menu you can read that sides have a separate price I knew I was going to pay extra for that, but some how he wanted to make a point on that, so had to tell him that I still wanted the side. ( Don't servers get more tip% if we customers order more?) How can a restaurant at this tier of prices can have such a bad server? We liked the food but can't understand how that happened.

We ate there on a Sunday, late afternoon. Our young blonde server was rushed, and short in her answers. We eat there bi-weekly and I always order the same thing. THIS time she said a side baked potato was only offered at a charge. That was a first. French fries with fine meats and sandwiches is Burger King and we're not paying those prices! She never offered bread and butter claiming she forgot. She never refilled the teas and to make matters worse, our steaks were well done NOT medium. In addition, there was a pea size hard object in our bread, a bit like a bone. Luckily, we caught it before chipping a molar. In all, this is the second time in the last 3 months our dining has been bad. We don't know what the problem is? Maybe new management and new cooks, but we hope you fix it soon. We'll return then!

Went for my bday dinner last night and the food was amazing, however the service was terrible. We were sat in a corner and a party that was sat after us in the same section was attended to first while we waited almost 30 minutes to get our waters and appetizer order in. Our server was not the same server the other party had. She seemed bothered to attend us and answer our questions. My dad is hard of hearing and she was speaking very low so when he had questions about the menu (first timers) she would respond with attitude because she had to repeat herself. We asked for to go boxes she came back with one and then never came back with the rest, after waiting 15 mins we had to ask another server for a box. We wanted to order dessert and asked a different server for the dessert menu. It took her another 20 mins for her to come check on us. At that point it was 10:15 we cancelled on dessert. She honestly deserved zero tip, i wish it would have gone to the other servers around that were actually helpful. Very disappointed

The food was outstanding ! The service excellent. It’s just the place was too LOUD !! Could not have a decent conversation with my wife or hear the waitress due to the fact people around us were including us in their conversation ! That was not in my plans. I know I’m probably going to sound old and complaining on something out of the restaurant’s control. But it can be controlled by management if wanted. Anyway great restaurant just wanted a peaceful and quiet night !!

Food not that good anymore. Horrible service, waitress nowhere to be found. Atmosphere was bad, wih drunk people falling off their chairs and fighting, and yelling to other customers. Come on bartenders! If someone is drunk STOP serving them more alcohol!

This was my absolute favorite place but the last time I was there with my family, the service was horrible! And to make matters worse there was a RUBBER BAND in my daughter’s clam chowder! Not a piece of a rubber band, THE ENTIRE THING!!!! We mentioned it to our server and all he did was say, i’ll bring a new bowl, no apologies or concerns! Truly dissatisfied and disappointed with our experience!

This was my first time going to Pelicans and I will never go back. The minute I walked in I felt unwelcome. The whole vibe was off. The hostess needs an attitude adjustment and our waitress was terrible. I guess you have to be a regular to get good service because the table next to us, they knew them by name and their server was actually attentive and nice. Ours on the other hand only came around to take our order and bring our food then disappeared for the rest of the time we were there. I swear all I could think about while having dinner was the need to LEAVE. I have never been so uncomfortable in a restaurant EVER. Getting looks up and down when you walk in is NOT the way to treat people, especially if you want them to come back.

On a recent occasion, I contacted Pelican’s to place a standard takeout order for a medium-rare steak and shrimp. What followed was an unexpected and regrettable experience. I was met by an individual who identified herself as the manager—by the name of Sessy—whose demeanor was marked by unwarranted arrogance, condescension, and a clear lack of professionalism. As someone who has been a loyal patron of Pelican’s since childhood, I was genuinely dismayed by the level of discourtesy displayed during what should have been a routine customer interaction. The employee in question exhibited behavior unbecoming of any representative of a hospitality establishment, let alone one claiming a managerial title. Her dismissive tone and hostile manner left me questioning whether she was, in fact, authorized to act in that capacity or misrepresenting her role altogether. The order was placed at approximately 6:00 PM, and it may be advisable for management to review scheduling records to verify who was staffing the reception desk at that time. That such an unremarkable request would provoke such an unnecessarily antagonistic exchange is deeply concerning and indicative of a larger issue in staff training and oversight. Given the longstanding reputation of Pelican’s, I would strongly recommend reevaluating the qualifications of those entrusted with customer-facing responsibilities—particularly those in supervisory roles. While I do not typically submit negative reviews, the severity of this experience and the blatant disregard for basic standards of hospitality left little alternative. This feedback is provided in the spirit of accountability and improvement.
