Rose Tea Lounge is a popular boba spot known for its aesthetic presentation and customizable drinks. The Kyoto Milk Tea and Mango Cloud are favorites. Some find the music loud and the service inconsistent, but the boba is generally well-regarded.

Opinions de Rose Tea Lounge Elk Grove
It was my first time coming to this boba place and have been meaning to try this place for a while. We got the Roasted Oolong with Grass Jelly (left) and the Dirty Matcha (right). I usually change the sweetness level to 50% and my drink came out just perfect. I will come back again and try their teas.
The best specialty tea lounge ever in greater Sacramento in my opinion, you should try any style and you won’t get disappointed, nice packing, location is a bit off from main rd otherwise could have been a much better business, drink itself is 100% authentic. Interior is nice and great for students and couples.
It's hidden from main streets in Elk Grove. Inside the boba place has a trendy black, European design. I like that they have many choices for matcha lovers. Also, fruit teas and milk teas are good options. I got Kyoto milk tea and matcha marble half sugar. Their drinks are not on the sweet side. I like the color of their drinks. It is similar to trendy LA boba shop. I will definitely visit them again for their matcha drinks.
In the time of competitive boba, Rose Tea delivers aesthetically... But varies on taste. The Matcha Marble looks fantastic, but it's half ice and is difficult to identify when mixed. You might get a mouth full of foam your first sip. Nice to try once, wouldn't recommend again. Golden Phoenix was tasty with the honey boba. Would recommend again. Both drinks ordered with whole milk and varying degrees of sweetness. Less ice melted surprisingly quickly.
At the moment, this is now my favorite boba spot in ALL of California, and I have tried boba all the way down in San Diego, and up in the Bay Area, and this is by far my favorite place now! I recently was in the Sacramento area for spring break, and I've been to pretty much every decent boba spot in the area, but I wanted to try something new, something interesting. It literally took me 30-40 minutes to find and decide which place to go to, and I ended up finding this charm. We were lucky it wasn't too busy, but there sure was a good amount of people, but I could tell a lot of people ordered online because I want to say that there were about 20 drinks just sitting on the counter! Anyways, I absolutely love the environment, and the interior because I think it has a really mysterious and modern luxe kind of design and plus I love all the art, decor, and of course the vibes. All around a good feel. I had already knew what I wanted and I got the mango cloud, but then I was like "man, I heard about that boba shortage, and this is our last day in Cali," so I got back in line again and ordered the strawberry cloud, so I ended up with two amazing drinks. We also ordered a thai tornado, which just looks so beautiful as well. I thought that I would like the mango cloud better, the one which I originally ordered, but the strawberry cloud was actually my favorite BY FAR. Both of them are very aesthetically pleasing, but the strawberry one was way better executed. First, the strawberry lemonade smoothie itself was super delicous, and luscious, and just had the perfect consistency and was so refreshing, and VERY fresh for a warm California day. You could really taste that sweet, beautiful strawberry flavor, and it wasn't as sweet as I would of imagined. The cheese foam also added a really nice creaminess and slight saltiness to offset the sweetness. Then, the real game changer were the fresh strawberry bits. Usually when places put real fresh fruit in drinks, the fruit is kind of bland or too soft, but these strawberry that they put in the drink were some of the best strawberries I have ever had. They were insanely fresh, and still maintained a really good bite to it, and just added a new texture and elevated the whole drink. Just that is what made the drink so special. Then of course, the boba was executed perfectly, and was soft but with that slight chew. The mango cloud was still really good, but the strawberry cloud just dominated the mango cloud that I was more foucsed on the strawberry one. I mean the mango drink was super refreshing and fresh, and the cheese foam was also creamy and salty, and the boba was on point too. The one thing was the fresh mango bits in it. They were just kind of bland, but the main thing was they were way too soft, and I know mango is softer and more delicate than strawberries, but it just didn't go too well in the drink. Don't get me wrong it was still delicious and I could definitely drink the whole thing by itself, but the true champ was the strawberry cloud. Overall, when I look at everything down to the interior, the service, and the spectacular drinks, I can easily see why this is my favorite place in California, and I'm so glad I found this place, and I'm hoping that I can come down here the next time in town!
My friend kept recommending this place to me as one of the best boba shops in California. So I had high expectations. I didn't know what to expect but it was great. The interior is chic and classy. The music was great. & The teas? So good. The fruit teas my family got were really refreshing. They had real fruit bits in theirs'. My milk tea was nice and creamy and flavorful. The boba held it's own flavor and sweetness too. Perfect. I came when it was slow so they got my 4 drinks out fast. Whenever I'm nearby, I'll definitely come again. I can see why my friend loves it here.
Drinks were good, atmosphere was very different from your typical Boba shop. A mix between coffee shop vibes & a very demure night club. What led me to this place, since it's not in my immediate area, was how late it was open. Good was good too. Definitely will return!
This place was a very laid back environment and had Dubai chocolate with strawberry. All I can say is it was amazing. This was my daughter in law's and I 1st experience, it was great!
The Taiwanese popcorn chicken is amazing, along with the non spicy bbq fries. The boba is also great. Even a clean bathroom. The atmosphere is also amazing.
Stopped by after a long day with two of my coworker and got a drink. It was super good! The pudding on the bottom with the boba pearls. Ughh!! 🥹 The inside is was spacious with lots of seating area. The kiosk made ordering fast and easy as well. Update: The popcorn chicken definitely hit the spot. The Corn Dog was okay. Wasn't as good as I'd imagine it to be, but it's worth giving it a shot. 🤤
Such an aesthetic lounge. Love their boba and tea, wish there's food or snacks to eat. Easy to order, and drinks are customizable. You can choose less sugar, ice, extra toppings etc.
We’ve been here for three times. Their drinks are good, especially the non-caffeine menu. It’s fresh and special. Mango Cloud is our top choice. The Matcha Marble tastes bitter in my opinion. They sometimes have new drinks. This is our go to tea place!
This place definitely have some good boba! Ordered four drinks, matcha, black sugar boba, peach green tea and a Thai tea. Very soft boba and love the favor for their milk tea, for my matcha, I got 50% of the sugar, if you like matcha it is ok but if you like sweet, maybe more sugar is better. Love the peach tea, got 25% of the sugar, just right on for me. And my brother like the Thai tea. However I do say the wait time it is too long. Almost waited for an hour to line up and get those drinks. But very friendly customer service and clean environment. Highly recommended and will definitely come back again.
A place where you can chill and hang out. I love their Brown Sugar Milk tea. Super Spicy Pop corn Chickens was delicious
The presentation of their drinks is absolutely beautiful — every cup looks like it came straight out of a photo shoot. The drinks taste just as good as they look — refreshing, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Personally I think their boba is currently the best in town 😍 chewy and flavorful 😚 Their snacks are also delicious! The popcorn chicken is crispy and juicy, and the BBQ-flavored French fries are a must-try — super tasty and addictive. The takoyaki that’s soft inside, crispy outside with just the right amount of sauce and topping. It’s the perfect spot to hang out with friends, enjoy great drinks, and relax with good vibes. Highly recommend! 🌸🍹🍟 Our favorite drinks: signature crème brulee boba latte with black tea, strawberry cloud, ube taro fresh milk ❤️ Our favorite snacks: popcorn chicken (spicy + sweet and chili sauce), bbq flavored french fries, Takoyaki.
Rose is my go to boba spot in Elk Grove! I've tried numerous drinks, but my favorite is the kyoto milk tea. It's a jasmine milk tea base with a hint of matcha and slathered with puff cream around the cup. I love this combo so much especially bc it's so unique and can't be found anywhere else besides Rose! If you've had omomo in socal before, I'd also recommend the matcha marble!! I personally find Rose's to have a stronger matcha taste and it's creamier! I've also appreciated the vibe Rose offers, it's the perfect place to hang out with friends. The drinks can take a while sometimes, depending on the time, but they usually have online ordering open which is nice. The workers are also very kind and will make adjustments if youre dissatisfied with your drink! PSA: Rose is celebrating their 5th anniversary and will be giving away free food and free prizes on 9/5!

Ordered from this place last night, and I’ve got to say — the popcorn chicken bites and seasoned fries were hands-down the best I’ve ever had! On top of that, their strawberry whipped cream frozen drink was amazing. I’m officially a lifetime fan. lol
I've been wanting to check this place out for a while. I see their cups regularly in elk grove so they are obviously popular. They have a great website with visually stunning drinks so I didn't take much pictures. The drinks come out pretty much the same so u won't be disappointed with how ur drinks come out. I was expecting some cheap boba tea shop but I was very surprised at the level of quality. Everything that we ordered tasted great, we got the tiramisu coffee, the dirty boba and a strawberry swirl drink. No complaints whatsoever except for maybe price. Definitely more expensive than other places but the quality is good so take that into account. Our order did take longer than expected to complete (about 15 minutes from when we put in our order, for 3 drinks that seems quite long) looks like alot of wasted movement for the staff. They were constantly going to the back to complete an order. Anyway that being said I would come back but maybe just to do a preorder so I don't have to wait so long 😉
Finally got my chance to go here after wanting to go since they opened. Since I live almost an hour away, I had to wait until I was in Elk Grove for a reason. I ordered the Strawberry Matcha 🍓 and it was good. I also ordered the Thai Tornado 🌪 because why not 🤷🏾♀️. This one is ordered 100% sweet and I should have gotten it half (50%) and did Matcha at 100% (switched the sweetness around). I can't wait to try the Oreo and Tiramisu next time. They aren't expensive either! $6
The drinks are unique and different; I like it. When I got there 11/02/2020 at 10:55am there was already a line w/ eight different people. The staffs seems nice but they're busy. The shop had customers after customers. I might try again... will see! The names of the drinks are on the cups.
Ordered the brown sugar milk tea with boba. Tastes really good. It is not as sweet as some other shops i think. The tea taste is nice and a bit stronger than most milk tea shops. The boba is smallish, very chewy, and has a slight floral taste which is really nice with the tea. The inside of the shop is super nice and will be an excellent hang out once we can go places again.
It’s a pretty cafe. The variety in their drinks are good. I wish Rang’s matcha was stronger but it’s still a nice place.
Place is always busy and bustling. It's a cute hangout spot, but it's hard to have conversations due to music being loud, therefore people are louder. Flavor in the milk tea was lacking (thai milk tea and tiramisu milk tea). Snacks were 7/10 and ranch tasted a bit strange. Side note: Cup designs are cute.
I was visiting the store next door and saw this on my way out so I decided to stop in for a drink. They didn't disappoint. The choice of ordering by the kiosk only, was interesting. There wasn't much of a human to human interaction which is terrible when it's your first time and you may have questions about different drinks. Not knowing what a tornado was, I chose to be safe and order a Thai tea with some black sugar boba. They didn't disappoint with the drink quality. I do like that they let you choose what kind of milk you want to put into the milk tea. The ambience is really nice. Feels fancy and upscale. All of the black and gold adornments partnered with the plants and white lighting gives the place a luxurious feel. I'll be returning again in the future to try more drinks and maybe poke at one of the workers about popular drink selections. So far so good, would recommend this place as a solid option for a milk tea and boba fix.
Delicious boba I have been coming here for a little over a year now and it is in my opinion the best boba place in sac. Some of my favorite drinks are the mango cloud, mango pomelo, thai tornado, and the sesame cloud.
Obviously, my visit to Rose Tea Lounge in Elk Grove was amazing. The place has a cozy vibe, and the Matcha drink was delicious—smooth, refreshing, and full of flavor. A perfect spot to relax and enjoy a quality drink. I’ll definitely return.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Unique Vibe & Phenomenal Drinks When we walked into Rose Tea Lounge in Elk Grove, the place gave off a unique vibe—classy, almost like a club, but it’s all about the boba. You order at self-service screens, which means there can be a bit of a wait if someone ahead of you is exploring all the custom options (and there are lots—sweetness level, ice level, different boba add-ins, etc.). We tried the Tiramisu Boba—absolute 5 stars. It came with a crème brûlée top that was so good I think I finished it in under 10 seconds. The other drink was a ?Berry Medley Fruit Tea with Lychee bits—refreshing with a nice kick. Both drinks felt like original recipes, and we’d definitely come back to try more from their creative menu. They also offer a variety of snacks like Korean corn dogs, lumpia, and more, though we didn’t try them this time. My only suggestions: • For the business: please clean the ordering screens more often—they were noticeably grimy with fingerprints and residue, which isn’t the most appetizing before eating or drinking. • For customers: bring hand sanitizer to use after ordering. I visited about a year ago, and I noticed some furniture is starting to show wear and felt unclean with crumbs and “stuff”. It’s not a dealbreaker, but keeping up with maintenance would keep the atmosphere as nice as the drinks. Overall, the drinks alone make this place worth visiting—unique, flavorful, and fun. Four stars only because of the cleanliness/maintenance concerns.
Went here on a Saturday. The place was packed and to make matters worse it was hot. Don't know if they have a working air conditioner but it certainly felt like they didn't when I walked inside. Drinks are delicious. The popcorn chicken not so much. Prices are comparable to that of nearby competitors.
Weird smell walking in and their staff isn’t all that friendly but their boba tea was pretty good. Wait time was 10 minutes after placing our order.
I liked how they had different milk choices for those who don’t want dairy, and sweetness levels. My taro milk drink was good. The chicken and fries were very tasty! Counter staff were friendly.

The place inside is nice. However I thought the drinks are expensive. I paid 7.50 for a jasmine green milk tea with almond milk and boba. Almond milk and boba have extra fee. The boba itself was soft and sweet. Jasmine was too strong, leaving a bitter after taste. I decided to try this placebecause I saw their menu had alternative milk. However only few of their drinks can be made with alternative dairy, which was a bit misleading to me. It was nice to try but I don’t think this will be my go-to boba place.
I have been a fan since the beginning but today these drinks that were made during a week day (not busy time) disappointed me. I always order Summer Melon, and it was so perfect in the past that it made me keep coming back. I’ve moved to OC but there is no place I like better than Rose Tea Lounge because of this drink. But since last time the drink’s perfect balance was already off. The tea was bitter. This time it’s overly sweet for 50% sweetness. I can’t taste the tea at all. Next up is the Classic Black Milk Tea, I ordered it at 75% sweetness for my brother but it taste less sweet than my 50% sweet drink. The third drink is the Mango Tango, it has a weird bitter taste of unripe fruit, byt overly it’s not that bad. The reason I’m writing this is because I hope they can keep the drinks’ quality remain the same because I love their drinks
Have been seeing this place for a few years now with line out the door sometimes, whenever I'm in the plaza. A little overpriced for what you get; if you want a cool cup, you have to get one of their premium drinks. Vibe sort of feels like 18 grams (but the boba shop version). We went during the summer last year, and they didn't turn on the AC, despite being quite busy - so it was super hot. Nice vibe and drink was not bad, but would not come back.
I went with my family on a Saturday night around 9pm. It was fairly busy, but not a long line. I liked the atmosphere and the ample seating; it would be great place to hang out with friends. Their bathrooms were closed though so keep that in mind in case you plan on staying there for a minute. We ordered the Tropical Paradise, Pineapple Cloud, and Milo Chocolate Delight. We all lowered our sweetness to 50% as we had gotten ice cream beforehand (do not judge I started dieting the day after 😭). However, our drinks didn’t taste less sweet. This was particularly with the Tropical Paradise and Pineapple Cloud where it still tasted really sweet; we normally get regular sweetness and that felt on par with it. The Chocolate Delight did taste a little less sweet, but it is still a very decadent drink. Not to say we didn’t enjoy our drinks! My family really enjoyed their drinks and I’d like to return again.
I sound like a curmudgeon but the music is really loud. They need a few more chairs and they let the garbage overflow which is uncomfortable. The decor feels club like which may be the reason it attracts teens and early twentysomethings. Order at kiosk which is pretty standard or skip the line and order off your phone. They don't have a good number system so people either have to check their phone or hover over the drinks window. (get a number display). Overall agree with the other reviews that my 0% sweet drink felt very sweet so either the staff isn't being careful or everything just runs sweet.

They are out here serving raw chicken ordered some chicken nuggets when I took the kids there for some little treats. It was nasty and raw and looked weird. We ended up throwing it away. The drinks were OK. I wouldn’t suggest eating there.
Ordered 100% sweet and it is bitter. Overly priced and doesn't even taste good. Boba itself isnt too bad though.

Service: -5/5 Drinks: 2/5 Ambience: 1/5 - The drinks were alright, truly nothing special. There were unique ideas, and one of the people with me had tried one of those milo chocolate smoothie blends. However, the other two of us got regular drinks. You can't mess up a black sugar boba, right? False. The drinks left a weird, dry aftertaste in my mouth. When we first arrived, they were out of water, and the room was as hot as outside. Still is. The giant fan in the corner of the room did not do the circulation any justice. I told the lady at the front nicely that there was no more water, and I got a rude glare and a sharp "okay we'll refill that when we can". She then quickly turned away from me and never spoke to me again. Perhaps it's because they were busy, but this is not the first time I've seen such unprofessionalism. There were shipments being carried in through the front! That made the already weird & tense ambience even worse! Last but not least, the service for food. It had been a full hour since we ordered the following; popcorn chicken, fried tofu, and tteokbokki. 30 minutes into the long wait, we were finally told that they ran out of tteokbokki. We had it substituted with takoyaki. But still, that is just so unprofessional. I don't think I will ever come here again. Not unless I want a dry mouth and to wait in a crowded, small, hot room for more than an hour. UPDATE: Our food was ready the entire time, but the adolescent workers behind the counter failed to tell us that it was ready. Updating this to a big fat ZERO for everything. If google allowed it, I would rate this into the negatives.
still smells somewhat like pee when you walk in. i’m wondering when they’re going to change the moldy looking, dirty curtains leading to the back. not very appetizing seeing my food and drink pass by those 🤢
Used to be my favorite place but ever since they changed the lids from paper sealed to this inspector gadget plastic lid that easily pops off I’m not feeling the place anymore. I know it’s small but now I can’t turn my drink upside down or shake the cup to mix the layered drinks, it was just exciting to do.
Ordered two milk teas less sugar, less ice. Took one sip and realized over half the cup was ice. Cup was clearly marked less ice. I told the staff, and instead of remaking the drinks, they scooped out the ice and handed back cups that were only ONE-THIRD full. When I questioned it, they said this is the normal portion and that less ice doesn’t mean more drink. No remake. No refill. Paid $7 for three sips. Craving cured forever. Never again. ⚠️
