Finally got to try this place!! Got the shredded beef patacon and added sweet plantains. It was great but I want to try it with more cheese (They do give you one piece for free) Yuca fries are excellent.
So,so delicious, fresh, and great portion sizes. Staff super friendly. One of my favorite places to order from- highly recommend their bowls!!! Absolutely fantastic 😋😋😋😍
Their Patacon is truly special. The fresh lechuga, tomatoes, & creamy sauces rich with flavor all compliment the well seasoned shredded beef. One of my favorite comfort foods so I was extremely excited to have found this place near my area. I’ll definitely be coming back & trying their Arepas, Tacuchos, & Cachapas.
The paradise for Venezuelan food lovers! Arepas, cachapas, patacones, yoyos, tacuchos, pepitos…so many items I want to try—I need more trips to exhaust the menu! The classic patacón, a green plantain sandwich, is full of flavors! It has a huge amount of shredded chicken, golden crispy queso blanco, and crunchy veggies. You can take it to the next level by drizzling it with more sauces! La Gorda cachapa is my favorite! I love how you can taste the sweet corn in the golden yellow corn crepe. It’s stuffed with a generous amount of mozzarella and bacon, making it so comforting and hearty. Topped with a dollop of sour cream and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese, it’s even more indulgent! The Cubana arepa is a mouthwatering combination of savory ham, well-seasoned pork, creamy fried cheese, and tangy, refreshing salsa verde. It’s a great choice for a balanced, satisfying meal. The cheese breadsticks, tequeños, are impressive. The outer bread shell is fried to be wonderfully crispy and airy, complementing the warm cheese perfectly. For drinks, we got passion fruit juice, sugarcane lemonade, and chicha. Chicha, a popular sweet rice milkshake in Venezuela, has a rich consistency and the aroma of vanilla and cinnamon powder. It feels like drinking tres leches!
The food is so good in this hidden gem! I recommend the grilled chicken it’s full of flavor, their cheese is fried to perfection and their yoyo (sweet plantain base) is boss! They perfected the plantain sandwiches 🧡🧡🧡. I got my Colombiana soda too and was set! Pic looks messy but best believe it’s packed with flavor!
The service was good, the food was ok. Not the best Venezuelan food in the area. I tried the Patacon Llanero and it was ok. Could be better. The drinks were extremely sweet, so sweet that I needed to ask for another cup and put half a cup of water and half of the passion fruit juice and it was still sweet.
dang, what happened to this place.. I live a block from here and I've had everything on their menu with my go-to's with the gringo tacucho, the chicken empanadas, and the reina arepa.. I can understand the increase in pricing with the world we live in now.. but it's a bit of a sharp increase where you might question it.. Considering the increase in price, you'd think the service and food have gotten better or at least stayed consistent but charging for extra sauce is crazy with the little cups they give you.. before they had a little station to take as much as you want which I loved cuz they had 3 different sauces.. I only really preferred 2 of em so I wasn't so greedy with it, but ordering a tacucho (like the size of a burrito) giving me one cup of sauce and charging me for more just gave me a sour taste in my mouth.. They raised the price of the empanadas too which again I understand, but to the point where it kinda didn't make sense, I never ordered them again cuz I can just go a couple blocks away for half the price for something that's just as good, as i said i lived a block away so it was really the convenience factor for me for good empanadas.. so taste is not the factor there, it's the price.. and again charging more for sauces.. The sauces are good so I'd use a whole cup on one empanada, but when I order a set of 3, I want 3 cups and charging more for something I feel is already a bit pricey just doesn't make me want to order it again... Can't complain about the Reina since it's been consistently delicious and the price increase is understandable and didn't change by a lot so I guess I can recommend that.. Also, if you're gonna order the soup, don't order the rice and salad with it.. rice tastes like plastic which is weird and the salad is sad.. haven't ordered it in awhile but off the menu they'll decrease the price if you take it out.. well, when I ordered it anyway which was more than a year ago.. Also, this might be preference for some.. but they have a seasonal(?) watermelon juice.. it's literally just blended watermelon.. coulda used some sugar or something cuz I was disappointed I ordered something I could have made at home by just blending a literal watermelon..
I usually don’t write reviews but I’m going to take time to write this one. I’ve been buying here for the past four years through delivery apps. I’ve been coming here for the past year as I moved into the neighborhood. The customer service is not it. I get it, I work in retail. Dealing with people is draining but when you work in the food industry, you have no choice but to be more attentive compared to retail. I always do online pick up just so I can be in and out. This is the second time where I’m waiting more than 10 minutes just for someone to come to the front and grab my food. Everyone stays in the back. Especially at nighttime. People want to do their own thing. I literally could’ve stole their food that they leave on the front counter and they would have never known because no one pays attention. I know they hear that door when it opens. I’m literally standing almost damn near the back of the counter staring this guy down like bro I know you see me. It’s ridiculous. They also don’t always follow orders. I tell them to not make it oily and they still make it oily. I like their food but it’s not worth it. Customer service could be better. The young Asian guy (I don’t know if he still works here) gives good customer service and will have you in and out. Everyone else, I can’t really speak highly of. And yeah, they did raise their prices. They also don’t give you a lot of sauces and will charge you extra. Even if you have a coupon, it’s still not really worth it. Their food doesn’t give you that wow factor. It’s disappointing.
This place has gone down the drain. I used to be recommend this spot but lately all they care about are the profits than quality. Back when they sold the empanada for $1.50 they cared about the customers. Always asked if we need more sauces. Now, we just ordered 10 empanadas and they only provided 3 sauces. Their excuse? "Its new protocol". Safe to say I am no longer going to consider myself a loyal customer. I will also be warning my friends and family to take their business somewhere else.
I'd been ordering from this place until two days ago. I ordered a chicken cachapa and felt sick to my stomach like never before in my life. I had vomiting and diarrhea for two days straight. I ended up in the hospital for severe dehydration. Be very careful.
I hear from colleagues that their patacon is good, and so are their empanadas. Today, I ordered a bowl of carne asada and could not finish it. The meat is not asada but pan-fried (or microwaved because it is not fresh), with little to no seasoning, and is hard. This is unacceptable, and we will no longer be ordering from here. I ate the black beans with the rice because I had no choice. It is also not visually appealing. The meat choice for carne asada must be tender, not cheap meat. Do not waste your money. I paid extra for extra meat just to throw it away. I wouldn't want anyone eating it and I am so sad about it because I am a person who doesn't throw away food. As someone who is Latina, this food does not represent our culture, please do better just how your patacones and empanadas are. If not, take it out of your menu.
Upon ordering a chicken potato salad (Venezuelan Christmas salad) over the phone, I was informed that they offered small, medium, and large sizes. I opted for a medium size, as the manager suggested it would be sufficient for two people. However, I was charged $40 for the salad and she also asked to provide a tip of 15%, 20%, or 25%. Upon receiving the salad, I was shocked to find that it was significantly smaller than expected. The price seemed excessive for the portion size, leading to a profound sense of disappointment.
DO NOT ORDER IN THIS PLACE! I ordered a Venezuelan breakfast through Uber eats which is supposed to have eggs, black beans, cheese, arepas and beef and I was missing the beef, arepas and black beans!?? This is ridiculous! They don’t pick up the phone when u call them either. I’m really disappointed.
DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT EATING HERE. I ate in the restaurant with my mother. We ordered two soups with a side of rice, salad and maduro. The food was served in paper plates… she forgot the maduro. the waitress had trouble finding spoons. And gave us plastic spoons. and no forks… I also ordered a “natural” juice. It was more like powdered Fanta. We spent $36 on absolute garbage. I am extremely disappointed. I should of just went to Pollos Mario. Paid a little more and ate well.
Ridiculous costumer service. They are providing false advertising on DoorDash so keep that in mind. I ordered 2 chicken cachapas, and got one beef went back and no apology was given. There’s no manager and anybody to complain when they messed up an order. Food was ok, kinda dry and the fact that the customer services is useless is literally a joke and not worth it at all. David was the person that “helped out”
They sold me a ham and cheese patty and it was horrible. I don't recommend it. I called the restaurant to inform them of the problem and the manager couldn't solve what happened to me. She was rude. She didn't respect me. They robbed me. I was blaming Uber. It's the kitchen's fault that Uber only brings the order, but in the end they lost a customer, not an $8 cupcake.
