They have a really wonderful decor and vibe. It made me a bit worried that the food might just be designed for Instagramability, but after tasting their stuff and seeing their prices I see that's not the case! Good portions, great Thai selection at their core. I'm curious to try their sushi and other seafood options. Attentive service and great atmosphere, Spicy Shallot really elevates the area! Great spot for a date, and they have lunch specials as well.

easy go-to spot in the neighborhood for lunch special or dinner, with something for everyone. we've tried so much of the menu and it's always delish. regular orders for us include the volcano chicken, salmon clay pot, coconut shrimp, black tiger roll, and hiiiighly rec the whole red snapper with mango salad. staff is always attentive and kind + the wait isn't usually long at all. thank you, spicy shallot!!!

I stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant in the Queen's area and I was blown away by how beautiful and delicious it was! This Thai restaurant gave me so much joy 😍 Every dish I ordered was fantastic! The staff were all so friendly and accommodating, especially towards children. The prices were reasonable and it's a perfect spot for birthdays and gatherings. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great dining experience.💯

Good food and a great date night spot. But they ask for too much info for a quick pickup order. Full name and phone number (which I would be okay with if they had a profile on me like some other places have so you don’t have to give out the address every time, etc, but they don’t!). Just name and order would be better. Still a good spot I’d go dine at but not order delivery or pick up.

I haven't eat here for years and they have some renovation and the restaurant now look nice and more modern. Service is great with very friendly servers and food is pretty quick. - BBQ Beef which is delicious and juicy, love it! - Yum Salmon is good in Thai style of sauce, if you love spicy you should try. - Japanese modern set: It just a regular rolls with nothing special but can feel you up if you are hungry. - Scallops Carpaccio: this menu here I have no idea what went wrong with it. They put too much salt and the sauce is weird. Not crazy at all. I believe most of dishes are delicious from what I ate with a big group of friends last time and I got to try more authentic food. I'm still very happy to eat here and will try more food next time when I come to Woodside.

A few days ago, I left a 5-star review for Spicy Shallot because I truly thought it was an excellent place. However, today I must change my rating to 1 star. I came all the way from Manhattan with my wife, and I even invited some friends to whom I had already recommended the restaurant. We live outside of New York and planned our evening to come here, arriving at 10:20 pm. We knew the restaurant closed at 11:00 pm, so arriving 40 minutes before closing seemed more than reasonable. I never arrive at a restaurant 15 or 20 minutes before closing because I understand staff are already cleaning up, but 40 minutes should be enough time to seat customers. Unfortunately, we were told they could not seat us and would only serve takeout. I don’t believe this reflects good service. If the restaurant truly does not accept customers after 10:20 pm, then they should clearly state their closing time as 10:30 pm instead of 11:00 pm. For this reason, my review changes from 5 stars to 1 star.
