Usually come for a burger which Is always fresh and good! The difference is time was watching the staff. In particular one gentleman who is to quite enthusiastic and welcomed everyone like old friends Stopping in for a visit

Love the Gyro combo, includes: Gyro Sandwich, French Fries, and a drink. Make sure you add feta, and get a second greek sauce, so Good!! Happy Eating's Esco Peeps!!

Have been going here for years, and quite a selection of food my favorite there pastrami sandwich and there onion rings but there is something there for everyone burgers, gyro, plates, breakfast, shakes they have it all... George's is a guaint little gem in Escondido with good eats, there is a walkup window on left side or you can order In side as well seating inside is closed due to covid 19 there is ample parking. TV series Renegade with Lorenzo Lamas & crew did filming in Escondido, Daley Ranch and George's had a cameo as well in the 90's.

The hamburger was a good size and perfect blend of flavor. Also ordered a salad and was a very big serving with pita bread as a side. Everything was reasonable priced.

I was doing some business in this area then I stop by this place through Google Maps I order my gyro sandwich service it was it's a great. they are really friendly the way take my order they are better than many place I went I recommend this place to everyone

as usual all these years later still one of the very best Greek Chicken Salads I have ever had! had one for dinner last night and eating another for lunch! Bought it for my son and he didnt make it home early to eat and didnt eat it today.. so its mine.. his loss! YUMMY! Try my way... mix one of the Greek dressings and a ranch in the salad together! WOW!

Misleading name, the burgers are the only sub-par thing on the menu! This place would be more aptly called an "American" diner or classic Greek-style 'Coney Island' restaurant. Delicious coney (chili) dogs and fries. It's really weird that they call this place a burger joint, but in any case I hope they stick around because there aren't many of this 'sort' of restaurants in this region! The burgers are amazing! They taste just like those classic burgers everyone loves! Diced crispy lettuce, fresh tomatoes, perfect amount of pickles and just enough ketchup inside for flavor. The steak fries are so perfect too! I'm a French fries girl and this place delivers crispy, golden fries. The staff was great! They answered all my questions, and were honest about their menu; which I appreciate. I almost ordered a California Burrito and I was advised it is not our traditional carne asada so I went with the burger. I was not disappointed. Order here! We'll be coming back as a family for dine-in on the patio soon.

Fast friendly service by a cohesive team . Generous portions of good quality hamburgers, hot & cold sandwiches and gyros. Beverages include refills. I was going to get a burger to go. I stayed to dine and called friends to join me. We all enjoyed our lunches.

The food is good, and the prices are reasonable. Whoever is working the front is always very nice, and prompt. I like the gyros salad, and chicken gyros salad, but the burgers and fries are also a great choice. Kind of hole in the wall I like to go to regularly!

Really really satisfied with the food here! This place has American, Greek and Mexican options so you can always find something you're in the mood for. Awesome quality and portion sizes. I almost passed this place up at first, its small and a bit tucked away, but I'm glad I didn't. Definitely a local favorite!

Nothing fancy here, in fact fancy is kind of the opposite of this place, but the food is really good and you get plenty of it. Prices are a little on the high side for burgers, but it's not McDonald's. Here's a hint - when a restaurant has been around almost 50 years and it's called George BURGERS, it's not because they're famous for chicken.

Great Cobb Salad! And their pita bread is awesome. My husband says they make a good burger, but I’m afraid I always stick with the Cobb.

George Burger is a staple in Escondido (and they have a San Marcos location to). When I am hungry for a good greek Gyro Plate I head over there. I know their hamburgers are great and the Grilled Chicken Salad is excellent to... Go give them a try, we have several good Mediterranean options available here, but I like the casual and good eats at George Burgers...

I have been going here for almost 20 years. The food is still exceptional and impeccable. The burgers have gotten even better, if that's possible and the chicken salads are always a favorite. The service is above and beyond.

Shakes are delicious. They prepared a shake for an order and had some extra, they just gave it to my son at no charge. Tasted it and had to order one, that is how you do business. Burgers were good too.

Great affordable spot for quality food and big portions!

Love the burgers so much I went back again today. Had a patty melt on Friday and today I had a Bacon Cheeseburger. Booth were cooked to order with my favorite grilled onions. I spurged with a chocolate shake today. All were fantastic and now Georges Burgers Escondido is on my list for lunch and dinner. Can't wait to try out their breakfast too.

Food was sooo good. I got the grilled chicken sandwich and it was yummy. Got a combo with fries but was so full I couldn't finish the fries!

I recommend the Greek chicken salad!!! It has been over 14 years since I was in Escondido and could have George's... I was glad to see one of my favorite places still standing and the food was just as I left it.... DELICIOUS!!!

This place is a great find. The food is affordable and delicious! Great pizza and sandwiches. Friendly service. They also have kids meals. I brought my kids to the children's museum next door and will be eating here for lunch after every time.

George Burgers has the best onion rings ever! And, of course, their burgers are good, too. You can't stay in business this long without great food and service. We brought our cocker spaniel as dogs are welcome on the nice shady patio. Johnathon, our server was just delightful. As we were new, he was ever so helpful. He and the food assure we'll be back soon.

Caution the prices on the board are less than what we paid. The fountain soda cup size was small and filled with too much ice. There is a charge for refills. Not fond of that. While visiting from out of state at the kids museum next door. This burger joint is the best. The $3 pizza slice was HUGE! Almost a meal in itsself. The workers up front were especially friendly, and offered many suggestions to our order. The onion rings are big and thick. The place got busy quick, as we got un just before the lunch rush. The taste and the quality of the food was great. There's a large variety of choices: pizza, wings, burgers, salads, gyros, hot dogs, appetizer sides, sandwiches and shakes.

Great burgers, friendly staff, good prices! There's a reason this place has been around for so long. They have a big menu too, a lot more than just burgers and fries. I ate inside, and the dining room was large, clean, and comfortable. A much better choice than the usual burger place!

Awesome salads for a burger joint. I had the gyros salad with tzatziki dressing. Super fresh and tasty veggies and meat. My wife had the “Carlitos Way” hot dog and it totally rocked. Huge selection- can’t wait to try more dishes.

Been eating at this establishment since it was in the original location in the San Marcos industrial park. 20+ years - so you know that they are doing something right! Big buns and lots of fixings. Get the fresh potato fries, too. Sorry, but I have never been beyond their burgers - and they offer plenty more. Local people, local food and good value for your money.

I travel alot and have to eat on the road alot and let me tell you, their spicy chicken sandwich was one of the best I have ever had. Place had that that small town hospitality in service while delivering big city flavor. Definitely coming again next time work brings me this way

I got the 1/4 burger combo with onion rings. I'm a fan of grilled patties. This is the place to go if you happen to be in the area looking for a big tasty meal. They have a big menu. Didn't get to try the rest of the food but I'm sure it would be good.

We were greeted right away, placed my order and then had a great conversation with the man behind the counter. For the price I couldn't believe how much food I received. I had the Bacon Ranch cheeseburger and it was delicious and the onion rings were awesome. We will be going back for their Greek Chicken salad.

New to this great little place. Walked in and so glad I did. The service is great. They made us feel like we were VIP. Was greeted as we walked inside, upbeat cheerful atmosphere. Cashier and the expediter was interacting with all the customers as he got our food ready and baged. Food was hot and delicious. Will return for other menu items

Had the Hawaiian Burger with tater tots, got my daughter the kid's chicken nuggets with fries. Everything was delicious! The fries and tots were perfectly golden with a crisp crunch, the burger, its bun, and its fixings tasted fresh, the chicken nuggets were juicy and were easily two-times more meat than a typical fast food version. I'm sold, this place is super quality fast food at slightly higher but totally reasonable prices.

This place serves one of my favorite burgers in town. Hot, fresh, and delicious everytime I order. A menu with plenty of variety and choices is another reason I keep coming back

Overall good, but for some reason the burger from the San Marco's location tasted better. Meat flavor? Not sure but prefer San Marcos. Very friendly staff here so still high ranks

I would definitely recommend George Burgers! The burgers are tasty and reasonably priced. I also love the Greek salad with half chicken and half Gyros! I can make three meals out of the large Greek salad with chicken and Gyros. Overall good quality food and fair prices.

George's burgers was my first visit. They have a wide variety on the menu from Mexican food to burgers to salads shakes and fountain sodas. I had the Avocado Swiss burger with all the fixins on it with fries ,their fries are the beef fries yum. The food was great so stop in if you get a chance.

Always good food and a very reasonable price. My only request would be that they allow tipping on cards... I hate that I pick up lunch for work, using our work card, and I'm unable to leave a tip. Everyone behind the counter is so deserving of being tipped and tipped well

First time I came here (just by judging from the outside) I had really low expectations but I was completely blown away by the really good food here at a really great price! I was even surprised that they had a veggie burger on the menu and it tasted awesome! I would definitely eat here again.

Would give a five star but it was not the food but the meal preparation. I always get the gyros salad which was my favorite until I saw the cook making it by using his bare hands. I have not been back since.

This was our first visit. Atmosphere is basic, nothing fancy. Burgers were good and made the way we requested. Fries were hot, crunchy tops and soft centers ordered Root beer to drink and the way they had the recipe it tasted just like the old fashioned fountain root beer.. The next visit I want to try their Rueben sandwich to see how it is.

Good fresh burger place with some added interest because of the gyros. Very friendly staff. Wait is slightly longer than typical "fast food" but the atmosphere is nice, almost a deli restaurant. My burger was a nice big fresh patty with all the trimmings and the French fries were big and hot and salty - everything they needed to be, but nothing super special. I would go again.

The Food Is prepared excellent. Large Menuboard. My Faves are the Gyros Salads, and Plates, and the Western Combo Burger. Sodas Are Very cold, large, and refills are 1$ Service Is Kind, Accurate, New Registers, Atmosphere Is Quiet and Family. Take-outs too.

This is a local staple. They make everything tasty. Gyros, burgers, greek chicken salad, hot dog, corn dog. They do get busy, but it is well worth they wait. Place could use some upgrades, only reason it's not 5 stars. Best stop in Esco.

The place have good burger, fries, and fried zucchini. The other items on the menu are to be desired. The burrito had meat that lacked flavor and the rice seem dry. The sandwich we got was just ok.

The food at the spot is always rock solid. Unfortunately it seems like no one at this place is putting any effort into keeping the facility cleaned. Ceiling tiles are rotting out it doesn't look like a clean or inviting place. Any place that is not taking this pandemic time to see two cleaning and repairs is making a big mistake.

I really wanted to like it here. Unfortunately, our food came out cold. The burger was good but not great. The chicken was too salty. The milkshake was so-so. I think if the food was hot I might add a star.

Ordered Med. Greek Chicken Salad with Ranch dressing. Chicken was so dry and stringy I could barely chew it up. The dressing was good. I won't order anything with chicken again.😩

Unimpressed, Food had hardly any flavor ..we had a cheese burger, pastrami sandwich, a hotdog, onion rings and tater tots and they were bland. Service just ok and too expensive for what you get. We won't be going back.

Due to the fuss for this place I went ahead and tried it twice. Not sure what the big hype is, they don’t even taste like a burgers. If you really want to try a bomb burger go visit Paul’s Place in Oceanside their burgers are fantastic!

I specifically asked for a Greek chicken salad and they gave me a Ceasar salad which has zero flavor and is literally just lettuce with some sauce and a small piece of chicken and I paid $10 not worth my money. I was on my lunch so I couldn’t even go back. Super inconvenient and disappointing since I always get salads there and their Greek salad is always great.

The food is good, but the customer service is terrible. The employees always seem that they are bothered by customers. Furthermore, when i call in my order, they never have my food ready by the time i arrived. I once took 18 mins after i called to arrive (they had told me it would be ready in 10 mins), only to find out they had not even started on my order. I had to wait another 15 mins for them to finish it. Just so you know, i had only ordered a salad. I gave two stars because the food tastes good.

Always love the salads here, but today I was dissapointed. Chicken was not fresh, the pita bread was cold and the ranch, I don't know what kind was it but it has some pieces of something and did't like it, the burger I order with out pickles, they put pickles in it. I call and complaint, the girl told me if I was near I could go back for replacement, I was already home and not going back. I didn't enjoy my dinner there tonight, sorry. Problaby I wont be going back any time soon.

Not what it once was.. got a hot pastrami like I did a year ago and was equally disappointed. Had it before and bragged about it.. I guess no more. $10.00 bucks and I split the the two halves to make a real Pastrami sandwich and the 1 pickle. Not again!

I have been going to George's since 2016. It's an old place desperately in need of remodeling and major cleaning. But it was OK food wise and had some salads. But now I say avoid it. Pizzas on the menu, but no pizza chef or oven. No drink refills. But worst of all, they recently raised their prices way up, like 20 percent or more. They are charging for below average poor quality food items you can get in decent sit down places like Denny's , Applebee's or Chili's. And for counter ordering, Farmer Boys or Habit Burger much cleaner and same or less money. And you don't have to walk outside to use a restroom. Sorry George's, too decrepit and too expensive and the value is now gone.

I was looking for a classic burger place found George's and wanted to try since it was close by my work for conversation. Unfortunately the classic hamburger fall flat my order of zucchini was also lacking in flavor. Unfortunately I will not be returning.

I would say it's a solid 2. I paid a little over $16 for a 1/2lb burger combo. The patties are as thin as the ones in In-N-Out burgers which are way cheaper. Don't expect them to be juicy. The worst part is there's some spice in the meat and it's ruining the meet flavor. Fries are okay.

The place is really dirty, the fans are dripping with dirty and look oily everyis old. The food had no taste. No free refills.

This George's Burger in Escondido is worse than an old outdated dive bar .., out of date inside the place looks old 😕 & run down the food is probably just as old .., the food is not good , over cooked dry & burnt ... DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH "George's Burgers" in Escondido .. This one should just close down or bring it up to date inside & a new cook as well ... Go to the one in San Marcos 💯 BETTER all the way around ..

The two ladies at the front really have attitudes. The cooks did not wear gloves at all while handling the food. We ordered two combo meals for 30$ and it took 25mins to get and once we ate got home and started getting ready for bed we got sick this is my second time getting sick eating their burgers. No third time for us thanks.

I ordered a grilled chicken salad it cost me 11$ and it only came with one piece of tomato and one piece of cucumber; the chicken was so dry and hard. I felt ripped off. I called and ask to speak to a manager and they wouldn’t let me. I Do NOT Recommend this place !

This fast food restaurant is worse than hospital food! The patties are frozen, so thin and flavorless you don’t taste the patty. The onion rings are bland as a roll of bread. Over priced and the food is bad! Don’t come to this restaurant you will be truly disappointed! Also outdated dining! My first time and last.

DO NOT GO HERE!! The worst COLD burger I’ve ever had in my life. The meat is not freshly cooked and don’t get me started on how little and THIN the size of the patty was. Charged extra to substitute tasteless onion rings for the fries in a combo meal and still was charged for the salt less fries. Service was mediocre and the wait was ridiculous for a cold patty.

9/29/18..... Today was my first visit and worst experience at George Burguers in Escondido .The Manager was terrible (I think she is, was a cashier).I only ask her how they made the potatoes, because in other restaurants made curly or French fries. She answer me in impolite tone...are potatoes. Maybe for her customers are not important, maybe because is not her restaurant. Was too sad for me, because I wanted to be started to eat once a week. Sorry for the owner, and for the new customers. I think any star🙁,, but I need to give them 1 because app doesn't let me continue.

The burger was way overpriced, and what's worse is that the actual cost on the receipt was higher than the price listed on the menu($7.99 on menu vs $9.35 on receipt). So, brace yourself for a surprise when you get the total bill. When it comes to the burger itself, I've had better ones, especially at around $10. Yes, you heard that right. The only positive aspect of this place is the friendly customer service I experienced. Will I return? Not a chance.

I don’t even know how to begin with. The food is super gross, burguer tasted like gyro. The 1/2 lb is more like 2 party slices, the cooks do not wear any gloves and hygiene is a huge concern in this place. Not only I saw the cooks handling money, but the way they handled the food was very concerning. Service is also mediocre, I do not recommend eating their food at all. God knows how they have a health license approval. After seeing all the dirtiness from employees I could not eat my food, literally vomited the bites I had when I got home. Stay away from this place!

the worst burger i ever had. fries were gross and unsalted, burger tasted like nothing but bun and onion. absolutely horrendous!! the only good thing in the ranch, and you can hardly taste it over the flavor of stringy lettuce.

The Hawaiian Burger 🍔 was mediocre would not recommend. Wife had the chicken 🐔 pita 🫓 the chicken was cut in HUGE chunks. My wife had to bring food home so we could cut it to edible size. You might as well just put a whole chicken on it (sarcastic 🤌). All in all the foods not worth it.

I ordered I gyro. The pita and meat were very greasy. It had an off putting taste. Tasted fried and had to many onions. Quite frankly it was the worst tasting gyro I've ever had. I apologize to Escondido George's burger. My granddaughter just told me it was from George's burger in San Marcos. Shame on you san Marcos. My granddaughter and myself couldn't eat our gyros. We threw them in the trash. I wish I had taken pictures.
