I ordered the #4 combo, beef taco, cheese enchilada, rice and beans. The beef taco and enchilada were spot on, with texture and flavor profiles. The refried beans also quality flavorful and smooth texture. I wasn’t a fan of the rice, not much seasoning and a-little mushy. 3/4 definitely deserves another opportunity to visit this establishment.

I have been going to this family restaurant for many years. I have brought my friends and family to enjoy the authentic Mexican food. My favorite is the Carnitas plate. For me, having the edges of the pork crispy yet chunks of moist meat says "cooked to perfection". To have a salsa bar that allows me to season and choose the vegetable condiments I prefer is part of the experience. I like the convenience of dropping in from either the I-15 or Hwy 78. Easy access as we drive by and the delicious food are top reasons I choose this place. Call ahead for take out or order at the counter and dine in, your choice, either way the food is great. I enjoy this place and I believe you will too. Consistency, convenience and quality of food is why I have come back over the years. Service has always been with kindness and a smile. Give Tacos El Portal a try. This patron hopes you will.

There are q lot of Mexican restqurants like this one around and the food they serve is pretty similar acrosss the board so you know whqt to expect, However, every once in a while, you run accross one where the food is prepqred by slmeone who has a more authentic touch. El Portal is such a placd. Everything we ate really tasted like the food you find in Mexico. Very impressive for a place that looks to be like the others. We highly recomend this as authentic Mexican food. Check out their Chile Verde which is particularly good.

I've been coming here for three years for a reason. It's the only Mexican place in the area that makes it well. Everything on the menu is great, and I love the breakfast burritos. The people who work there are great too.. The only negative thing I'd say is that their carne asada fries used to be better. They switched the type of fries they use about a year and a half ago, but they're still good.

Friendly service and chips served with the 3 beef tacos and the fountain drink. There are no labels for a hot sauce bar but mild to hot going left to right. The beef tacos are moist, but they could use a bit of salt for better flavor. Overall, it's not bad, and I will go back again .

They're almost rude. They dont like and refuse to customize. I wanted to order bacon only tacos and they seemed confused. When my husband explained they just said no, we wont do that. He asked if he could buy tortillas and bacon. They said no. it was such an awkward encounter. the breakfast burritos are good. i just wish they would allow customizing.

I don't know, I'm not a cook, I just know how things taste and those were bland and lacked flavor. Also, the cook and helper wore masks, but the lady running the register did not, and she did touch the plate, cup, etc... She did wipe down the cc screen, which was good.

Order for delivery from Tacos El Portal for the first time yesterday. The positives: they were affordable, very quick delivery (21 minutes from when the rose was placed), decent flavoring. The meat for the tacos was clean The cons: the tortillas on the tacos tasted sour, like maybe they were old. The absolute worse part was the birria. It’s so hard to find true goat birria here and we often go to TJ for is since it’s a scarcity here, so we were excited to try it when it was listed on the menu as goat. I don’t even think it’s actually goat and the quality was horrendous. Out of the whole serving you see, the top 3 are just chunks of the bone and fat, and only two of the bottom chunks were actually ‘meat’ but we couldn’t even eat it because it was too rubbery. If you don’t order the birria, I’m sure the food is decent. Unfortunately though, we will not be returning since we didn’t get to eat any birria whatsoever.

I honestly didn’t want to write this review but I ordered albondigas and 6 rolled tacos through delivery and the rolled tacos were soggy!!!!!!!!!! A little crunch in the end and soggy dripping all throughout the middle it just fell out. Worst part wasn’t this the worst part is I will NEVER eat or order here again it was the albondigas they were frozen Italian meatballs! What the fu*ery!!! Just a disgrace to albondigas dish! Might as well serve spaghetti with the soup because you can smell the Italian sausage meatball, and the meatballs were so soft they melted soggy meatball in your mouth! Oh my gosh definitely not freshly made meatballs these were frozen spaghetti Italian meatballs. Hilarious and both disgusting. 😭😭🤣🤣

When I opened the container of Rolled tacos a HUGH FLY flew out of the to-go-box container!!! SO GROSS - it was trapped inside the box for the entire trip to our house so we threw the tacos out. THEN.... the carne asada tacos were SO DRIED OUT that I couldn't chew the meat - it literally CRUNCHED and tasted old and dry. And if that wasn't bad enough.... When I bit into an adobada taco there was a ROCK... and actual ROCK... not a pebble... this thing was the size of an adult thumbnail!! The rest of the tacos in the batch were gritty and sandy.... I swear they dropped the meat on the floor and just scooped it back up... how else do you get sand and a ROCK INSIDE YOUR FOOD!???!! This was my first time eating from this place and NEVER AGAIN!
