This time we ate in and had carne asada burrito and a grilled shrimp plate combo. Their portion and flavor quality for price is well aligned. Customer service is always great! The ambiance of the place is relaxing and comfortable. I am going to get the flan next time because I couldn't fit it in on this trip!

I came in to try the chilaquiles based on a positive review and I was not disappointed! They were amazing 😍 my family had pancakes, eggs, and the California burrito. Every thing was made fresh and was delicious. The construction on grand ALMOST made me change my mind but I'm sooooo thankful I didn't because I wouldn't have found this amazing gem. They have all day breakfast and a wonderful staff that makes you feel at home. We can't wait to come back!

My husband Daniel and I have been wanting to come in and check out the Villa on Grand for a minute. I am so glad we finally made it out. We were welcomed immediately by the friendly staff and the overall esthetic was comforting. We ordered the Classic French Toast, Chilaquiles with red sauce; over medium egg and a Michelada! We were served the Churro French Toast and our eggs were over hard. The waitress asked if we wanted them to make us a Classic French Toast but we were satisfied with what we received and took it as an upgrade! That did not stop the amazing flavors that we received from both meals and we will absolutely return for a second visit. The staff were incredibly nice and definitely love serving the community and that is what matters! If you have not made it out to try this wonderful Mexican cuisine please do yourself a favor and just do it! You won’t be disappointed.

Modern, casual atmosphere. Friendly service, great tacos. My companions and I ordered seven tacos, rice and beans, and chips and guac. First off: The chips are served warm, seasoned, and delicious. The guac is great and runs a close second to the gold standard, [redacted]. With drinks, we spent about $73, which is a lot more than you’d spend on street tacos, but each taco runs $5-6. Your average adult would probably eat three tacos.

Popped in on Tuesday on a recommendation and so glad we did. We got surprised with Taco Tuesday specials and they were absolutely excellent. So delicious and beautifully presented. Maria who I believe is the proprietary was so gracious and welcoming and friendly. I can't wait to go back. Prices were great also. And love the decor. Hope the road construction will be done soon to help their foot traffic. But you can park on the side street and it's easily accessible.

My mountain bike buddy and I try to find a new taco joint every Friday after our ride. Most are satisfactory but not noteworthy. We just found this place and were so pleasantly surprised. The service was outstanding! They had great patience and thorough answers to my questions about sizes, ingredients, options, etc. They also explained the sauce options, checked on us to see if everything was okay, and refilled our drinks. And the tacos were AWESOME! Definitely going back.

Everything starts with the person taking your order. She was pleasant and accommodating. The place is clean, well lit, and had a welcoming atmosphere. The food was amazing. The chips are fresh and seasoned well. I had the breakfast burrito (Yes, for dinner!), my wife had the carne asada burrito, and my son had the quesadilla. We also ordered the chips and salsa. All of it was fantastic. Price was reasonable. All in all, I would recommend this place to anyone. Family owned and they are working hard to make this place beautiful.

We’ve had several of their tacos, but our favorites are probably the queso, carnitas, and grilled shrimp (although everything was good). I’d also highly recommend the chips (served fresh and hot with a yummy seasoning) and guacamole, and the refried beans are a must. Honestly, we haven’t had anything here we didn’t like. The service is also great. While you order at the counter, they bring your food to you and always check in to see how things are. Parking: the construction on grand (Jan 2025) is NOT blocking the restaurant. It’s very easy to get to.

I had a great dining experience at The Villa restaurant! I ordered the shrimp burrito, and my fiancé had the el pastor burrito. Both had great flavor and definitely filling. We also shared the spicy carrots, which were perfectly seasoned and complemented our meals. The prices were very reasonable for the quality we received. One of the highlights of our visit was meeting the owner, Maria. She was absolutely lovely and went out of her way to ensure we had a fantastic experience. Her passion for the restaurant is evident in every detail. Highly recommend dining here—you won’t be disappointed!

Wow! The Burrito Especial, is my new favorite in Esco. Our family of 5 went on a rainy Thursday. Maria and the staff were so flexible and patient as my three boys took their sweet time deciding what to order. All three boys enjoyed their food, a rarity! Even the chips are amazing. We finished with churros for the kids and flan for the adults. Delicious, great service, great atmosphere!

I've been 4 times since first learning of The Villa last month. Everything I've had has been delicious! The decor & vibe are great too. The owner & staff are super sweet and helpful. So far my favs are the Chorizo Burrito, Chicken Tortilla soup, Poblano taco, Carne Asada Taco, Carnitas Taco, Chorizo hash & Pancakes. I can't recommend enough! Grand Ave is undergoing some major improvements but don't let that keep you from trying The Villa!

Such great quality Mexican for worth every penny price point. Something on the menu for the whole family. Came for lunch while walking in downtown Escondido. Everything we ordered notably fresh to order. Husband got pollo asada burrito, meat was BBQ’d and not dry. Little guy got a fish taco and side beans. Crunchy especial and potato taco for me, will be back for both! No sides-pickled onions, guacamole, cheese not skimped 🙌 Chill vibe, owners came by to say hi and ask us how everything was. Oh, and don’t skip on the Jamaica!

They just opened in July of 2024. We went here for lunch and ordered a few different things, just to try it out. My favorite was the Breakfast Burrito. We also had the Carne Asada Burrito and a Chicken Quesadilla. The guacamole is to die for and make sure to try out their sauces. The portions are big, so we even had dinner leftovers. Can’t wait to go back and try the tacos!

The last thing I would do is open a Mexican restaurant in San Diego -- but they did it and they are pulling it off. This place is now tied for first for my favorite Tacos in San Diego, and that's serious business.

I love the food here. I get the combo plate and chorizo and egg burrito pretty often. I love the green salsas. My other spot is going downhill in quality, so I'm very grateful for this place. HOWEVER. This "appetizer" guac I paid $10 for is culinary robbery. This is not 8 ounces of guac. This is maybe 5 ounces of guac in an 8 ounce container topped with 1 ounce of cheese and garnish and 2 ounces of air. NOT COOL. Do better.

The restaurant’s decor is charming and elegant ambiance that immediately caught my eye. The service was attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall experience. The food was ok it gave me vibes of a regular fast Mexican taco shop quality it had a lot of taste of oregano on the salsas but overall ok a little pricey for the quality of food but I was disappointed to see it served on disposable plates with plastic utensils. While this might be practical for some, it detracted from the otherwise upscale feel of the place. Overall, if you're looking for a beautiful setting and don’t mind the disposable dining ware, this place is worth a visit.

Ordered the chilaquiles (they don’t look like other photos on the reviews) and I have to say not the best I’ve had, also my order was brought out way before my wife’s and been respectful to her I waited for her food to come out and by that time the food was cold! The cashier was nice, the seating is open seating and you pay before you get your food so don’t expect someone to come by and see if you need more water or drinks( at least that didn’t happen when I was there)
