Surprisingly the food portions and quality are great. The House Special Pho with everything and I like the rare steaks the most which are so tender. The egg rolls are fresh and crispy that dip the fish sauce enhance the flavor. However the BBQ steak and shrimp spring rolls are tasty but the rice paper is too dried and too chewy. The pan fried rice sticks with seafood is good to try. Of course, add some fish sauce enhanced the seafood flavor as well. Also, so Happy. Love the Vietnamese style dripping coffee. Nowadays, not many Vietnamese restaurants has the dripping style but the instant coffee instead.

Not sure if the other Pho Ca Dao locations have upped their menu, but this Escondido branch has some different regional specialties and unique offerings that we'll have to come back to try! We had the shortrib pho and Oxtail pho, which both also had rare steak included too. The meat was so tender and juicy, and the broth was oily, flavorful and comforting.

Wasn't expecting much, but wow, pretty good! We've had pho all over California and in Vietnam, and this place definitely surprised us. Broth was solid and not too salty. The people working there were also incredibly friendly.

The menu was simple and to decipher. Sirloin steak strips were incredible savory! Serving sizes were way more than adequate. You won't starve...

Yes, I am a PHO master, I have lived all up and down the west coast since 2007 trying pho along the way. This place is in my top 3 places to get your pho phix. The robots coo too.

I had a wrong order, I understood that it was my fault and they behaved wonderfully. The manager was nice, very attentive and friendly. I recommend this place.

When I found out they were going to open a location out here in Escondido I was ecstatic. It's way fancier than the original one in San Diego but the quality of the food is still great.

I’ve been here a few times now. Ordered twice on Uber eats and it was so good I wanted to come sit in the restaurant and eat. Food was delicious either way! Brisket pho was perfect, huge portion of beef. My wife had the chicken Pho, and was also plenty of food and tasted great. Service is great, restaurant is very clean and welcoming, and love the little robot server and the fish tank!

Outstanding Vietnamese food. The chicken was perfectly cooked. Moist, tender, and nicely flavored. The spring rolls were some of the best I've ever had. Super fresh ingredients.

We always love coming here. The pho and other dishes are great. I highly recommend the lemon grass steak pho. For appetizers the basil orange chicken is great, the steak buns are also great. Pho is always great during the colder seasons but even during the summer the cold dishes here like noodle bowls or banh mi are delicious. Come sit in he AC or heat and enjoy some top notch Vietnamese food.

This place was much better than I expected than other “Pho Cadao”. The menu is pretty various with many special food of Vietnam. Its impressive . Food quality is pretty good also.

This place was great. The pork buns that looked like tacos were great! The pho was also delicious. Their menu had me curious about foods I never would have tried. The wait staff was attentive. This place is DELICIOUS. We've driven past it a hundred times but didn't stop until this evening, and we're sooo glad we did. The restaurant is beautiful inside. The ambiance is tranquil, but also modern and stylish. The girls working there are so friendly. Everyone was helpful. In particular we were helped by Ashley, who was knowledgeable about the menu and so patient with us. She was a great server who went the extra mile. The owner (or manager) was there, and he took interest in the customers, helped serve, and asked us how everything was. Ayleen cleared our table and she was so sweet! We tried egg rolls, pho, and a 3-protein combo bowl with a little bit of everything. The food was so fresh and so satisfying. We will definitely be back.

The food is always amazing. Service can be inconsistent as employees change, but you can tell from those who are long term and it shows that they do love what they do. The Surf & Turf Spring Rolls are my current new obsession!! Must try!

Can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet! Delicious, quality food. VERY clean. Great service. My whole family loves it. Wide range of options for every pallet. Even my husband, a basic meat and potatoes guy, likes to try different vietnamese dishes here. The ribeye and eggs is my favorite.

Trust me, I rarely post any reviews anywhere. But trust me, I was skeptical with the mixed reviews, but after coming here, it was heaven. The food was super good and delicious. First time here at this location. Walked in for a large take out order and I really liked the customer service here. Super friendly and great communication. I was invited to wait at the bar for my takeout order and offered a glass of water while I wait. Currently pho CA dao Escondido is at it's soft opening phase and only been a month since it's been open. So far great experience and will definitely take a menu home and come back.

This is our go to pho spot completely delicious. You must get the lemongrass beef pho. It will change your life! Nice new restaurant with friendly service. The kids always love the fish tank in the robots that bring out your food.

Seafood Pho was excellent! We have had the Oxtail Pho, spring rolls, and Vietnamese chicken wings before. All were very very good. I highly recommend this place for a good meal.

One of those places that the atmosphere is completely ruined by horrible rave type loud upbeat music that is horribly distracting and unpleasant. Other then that it's great

I've come here twice so far. First time was close to closing time and the way they rushed us out the door at the exact closing time was obnoxious. The server hovered over us the entire time. It was a Friday so I assume the staff had evening plans. We ordered the Oxtail Pho both visits. The first time we tried it we feel in love with it. So tasty and filling...and they weren't stingy with the oxtails. So, we wanted it again. This time, my oxtails were like rubber. Chewy and hard. It tasted like it was reheated in a microwave. We'll come again because I'm all about giving chances and where else can you find oxtail pho? At least the coffee was good. See photo for reference. We also ordered the lettuce wrap appetizer. Sooo good!

Food is good, service is a bit slow. The food comes out to some of our party while others wait a long time.

The food was great. However the wait was more than 30 minutes on a Saturday at 2pm and staff never acknowledged us until it was our turn next to be seated . Seating was in booths only even though there were tables available.

The food is always delicious, but I'm giving it 4 stars because the service here is slow, and both times I've ordered soda here, each soda (3 different sodas) was flat.

This place is new and very nice clean also the male server was very polite and courteous so I ordered something with fried rice noodles that looks like a nest and then they put on top of it shrimp imitation crab lots of onions bean sprouts carrots broccoli I enjoyed some of it but I definitely did not like the fried rice noodles so that's a dead player for me for next time but I'll give him a try again to see if they have something that I may like and appreciate more I think you should at least try it I'm sure you'll be impressed you might even like the meal I did not like but I guess it's about taste

New restaurant in Escondido. Nice and clean dining area. More seats at the patio. Serving portions are huge compared to Mira Mesa location. Food is delicious. Servers are attentive and friendly. Parking is adequate. Definitely a place to go to! Update: Service is slow this time. Perhaps they have more customers? I had to wait for them to refill my water.

It is kinda incredible how Vietnamese food options have taken off in Escondido. Given the competition and choices it really takes a place doing something different to stand out and be somewhere you'll want to return, and at least in terms of interior and atmosphere this place is far different from the others. I went during their 'soft open' and unfortunately had to get take-out. I think I'd enjoy this place a lot more if I had been able to sit with a drink and my food. Prices are higher than some of the competition in the area but quality seemed like it could justify it for some of the menu, but probably not the Bahn Mi I had. There's far, far better in town (in my opinion) for an incredible value that this place didn't quite hit.

They do not engage in small talk, just want to get your order and get you in and out. Think of it as a fast-food restaurant with a restaurant setting. Then you won't be disappointed in the service because your expectations will be different.

Been here before, today's pho was not like it was a while back. Broth really good everything else was ehh.....also seemed like they just wanted us to sit then leave even though we were the only other couple there.

Cold atmosphere, misinformed servers, uncooperative cooks. I eat very little in the way of carbs, so noodles are out. I settled for Phó with no noodles again. It has gotten old.

The Oxtail Pho was good the first time. the meat was falling off the bone. the second time I needed a fork to pull it off the bone and was hard to bite.the 3rd time was also bad. disappointing because the taste is great.

All of the menu items we have ever had here are great! Now if the service was that good it would be five stars. Last three visits here have had new servers every time and little attention to detail. We have been seated many times and waited before anyone comes over. When someone sits down come over first and ask if they might like a drink. Stop back by the table and see if the food is good. Give some basic customer service.

Our whole family had diarrhea 24 hours after having pho and spicy beef noodle :(. Hi Minh, our credit card shows the transaction around 6 pm on Thu, June 29. We ordered a house special pho, a spicy beef noodle, and a kid beef pho which came with lemonade.

If they can improve the taste and freshness of the peanut sauce I’ll give it a 5 .

The first handful of times we went not bad pretty good. The lemongrass beef bahn mi was good. Sometimes the extra broth is super salty. But tonite though, worst meal i ever had there. It was “crispy” shreadded pork spring roll. It was more cold pork, a lil bit crunch, basil n noodles. And then the duck noodle soup, worse duck noodle soup i have ever tried., it was yellow, pretty much tasted like greasy chicken broth, the duck was just boiled i guess, not much flavor, cooled pretty quickly. I tried to make it taste better with all the extras it came with but it was not good. My partner asked the man if we could at least compromise on the check but the man who came to our table just gave us excuses and we just paid for it. Left a very full bowl on the table. N half a spring roll. The man who came to our table was not even our original waitresses, they did fine. But the table was never cleaned. How did the man just all of sudden decided he needed to come to our table? Was it the fact that we stopped eating n there was still a lot of food in front of us? What prompted that? Hmmmmmmm… anyway whoever cooked that meal tonight, well keep cooking like that n u will lose more customers. We should have had at least some decreased check, but no, paid w a bad taste in my mouth from not just food but now also service.

We ordered to go on Friday, Jan 7. I found the place clean, menu looked good, the robot server quite interesting and novel. We ordered Pho, spring rolls and chicken wings and Thai Tea. All were good except the chicken wings, which they advertise as 'salt and pepper'. It wasn't. Sorry, but nothing beats Royal Mandarin when it comes to salt and pepper chicken wings. Anyway, i found the host rude, unfriendly and dismissive. When our order came out he brought it over hurriedly and knocked over my Thai tea which splashed on me. He brought a rag to wipe up the spill and tossed napkins at me to clean myself up. NO APOLOGIES! I had even given a tip with the bill!! This place gets 2 stars for service. Recommend you find another place to go to, like Pho Saigon. Their staff is super friendly and food is just as good.

I work in poway always order the shrimp soup..is so delicious and I live in Escondido didn't know there was one in Escondido just found out..even better 1000% recommend love it...

We are somewhat regulars here But we’re very disappointed this time Long day a work and I can’t even order a beer. No manager available and no one of age to serve a beer. Get a manager that is old enough to run a restaurant or we’ll never be back!

Update: From 2 stars to 1 star! I try not to eat here anymore. Everytime I order from this place they always, always, mess up my order. 80% error rate so far on my to-go orders. It's so frustrating. I recommend those who order to-go open your bag, trays, bowl, everything and throughly, I mean throughly, check all your orders. As I've experienced missing side orders, meats, requested sauce, and even a complete main dish! Just how does one restaurant do this, not once, but multiple times. To be exact, 4 out 5 (80% error rate). So I'm giving up on this place and onward to the other local Pho restaurants. Old Review: Im a big fan of Pho CA Dao. Since this one opened recently, figured I go try it. Great place and always good food but workers there arguing in front of customers. Very unprofessional. The host and waitress was arguing the whole entire time I was eating there. Very awkward. I just wanted my food and I just wanted to enjoy it but couldn't. Hope they can work things out.

I have been ordering the lemon grass grilled ribeye pho for the past few years, always in RB. I ordered in Escondido and I’m not even sure what kind of meat I got, not grilled, not ribeye and full of fat. Had no lemon grass flavor and I threw it out. I had won’t ever order there again, waste of time and money.

I would give you 0 start if I can, so last time they told me the last dine-in should be 8:30, but today when I came about 7 or maybe 7:35 but they told me they were really busy and don’t have enough time for servicing me when I saw they did have many customers. I am disappointed about their service it likes they don’t want to serve me, food is fine but I think the manager must training again their staffs.

Idk what their beef meat is but it is not beef, I tried the plate 2 times and that’s def not beef. I ordered ox pho they gave me pho with 1 fatty oxtail. Never again going here, the best pho cap do is on El Cajon blvd.

Service sucks. Workers touched money while handling food. Young kids working with no experience.

Called in an order. I was told 15 minutes. Arrived in 15 minutes for picking it up. Waited an additional 35 minutes. Kitchen was disorganized. Use to like this place. Just lost a customer.

ordered take out … let me start by saying whom ever answered the phone and took our order was not friendly and actually kind of rude… when i got to the restaurant to pick up the food she still was not the friendliest… when i got home the cups they put our pho in had leaked out .. i think it was because the. broth was extremely hot .. sadly we were extremely disappointed with the food … there was ZERO taste!! We were definitely disappointed with everything from ordering the food to eating or lack there of eating the food … that was certainly a waste of $30 .. We won’t be eating there again ..

The service at this place is what warrants this review. Today they gave my food to the wrong table, let them keep it, and waited 20 minutes to tell me that they were out of shrimp. Awesome. My party was already done eating by the time they even asked. Service here has been getting worse and worse since the pandemic but this is something else.

I ordered the short rib garlic and it was burnt. The meat was dry and had no taste. It looked like old meat recooked. I’ve ordered this dish a couple times before and it was good but this time around it was a disappointment.

Came in for a pickup order, not greeted at door and left standing around for 15+ mins, when I was finally approached I learned that my order had been ready and sitting off to the side the whole time. Enjoying some cold Pho right now, food and service here has gone down.
