Esh knocked it out of the park. Vinny was a phenomenal server. Drinks were very good, food was absolutely delicious & the atmosphere was beautiful. This was my first & definitely not my last visit. Highlights were the labneh dip, crispy artichokes, grilled halloumi cheese, red snapper & the silan sundae. Thanks for an amazing birthday dinner!!
My family and I had an outstanding experience and meal this evening. This was my 7 year old son’s first time at the restaurant and after devouring some flatbread, dips and kids pasta dish he said “Can it get any better than this?. 5 stars end to end.
Javier was an excellent waiter! The food was perfect! Three of us had two main dishes and two shareable and it was more than filling. We had to take some home. Branzino is the best I have had and same with the humus! Very smooth.
I had a great time at Esh! The Mediterranean food was fresh and flavorful--the grilled octopus was fresh, light, tender, and perfectly seasoned. But the drinks really stood out. They were creative, refreshing, and balanced--definitely some of the best I've had in a while. The waiter was friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending Esh to friends for both the food and the drinks.
A standout Mediterranean restaurant with elevated, intentional flavors for brunch and dinner. The spicy margaritas were perfectly balanced—bright with just the right heat. House-made dips like smoky eggplant and tangy labneh were exceptional, paired with warm flatbread that felt indulgent yet clean. Sauces were thoughtful and nuanced, enhancing every bite. A beautifully curated experience—unhurried, flavorful, and ideal for those who appreciate quality and a touch of spice.
I had the best hummus bowl here in all of Fairfield county. I loved my food. It was so delicious. Can't wait to go back.
Fantastic Dinner, incredible food, delicious Passion fruit drink, best waiter ever. Not to mention that it is a beautiful place; it feels like you are in the city, rather than by the train station in Fairfield.
10/10 the whole experience from the food to the service! This place was better than we expected! Food was delicious, the ambiance is perfect for a date night, the waiter was informative and attentative. Everything is clean! We were celebrating our anniversary and they sent us a glass of champagne and wrote happy anniversary on our dessert! The brazino was cooked to perfection, the wine was delicious- we had the orange selection, the grandma's biscuit is like a large Ferrero, I'm still dreaming about it! We will be back!
My wife and I strive to be objective when it comes to reviews, but we truly had an incredible experience at Esh for our second wedding anniversary. Choosing this restaurant was one of the best decisions we've made this year. Everything on the food menu was fantastic! The decor and ambiance gave us the feeling of a New York City Restaurant in Connecticut. Our waiter, Vinny, was honest, attentive, and extremely accommodating. The owner even came over to greet us, showing great hospitality and engaging in a genuine conversation. This restaurant made our anniversary feel truly special! We will definitely be back!
Most fabulous authentic food under a beautiful decorative roof. Every dish we tried was exceptional. The service was outstanding as well. It's a pricey place no doubt, but you do get what you pay for which genuinely is absolutely delicious.
Exceptional flavors, especially in all the sauces and dips. The flatbread is delicious. We also enjoyed the ribeye skewer. Service was very good. Nice music and vibes as well!
Esh Restaurant in Connecticut is a must-visit for anyone who loves great food and a cozy atmosphere. From the moment you walk in, the friendly staff and warm ambiance make you feel right at home. The menu offers something for everyone, from fresh seafood and juicy steaks to creative vegetarian dishes. Each plate is beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Don’t miss the chef’s specials—they’re a delightful surprise! The desserts, especially date cake is the perfect end of the meal. With an impressive wine list and top-notch service, Esh is perfect for any occasion. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by - you won’t be disappointed!
Dining at Esh is truly an incredible experience. Each dish is unique with playful combinations of flavor. Salty, sweet, sour, spicy; they truly keep your taste buds guessing. The atmosphere and service are also next level. All of the staff are observant, attentive, and friendly. We've been lucky to have Javier on both our visits, he is extremely knowledgeable on the menu, ingredients, and provides great insight on pairings/options.
Cannot believe we waited so long to try this spot out. Came here for their restaurant week and they did not disappoint. We started with the flat bread with 3 dips. The bread alone is worth coming for. We had to order a second because of how delicious it was. Besides the bread, the ribeye schwarma was my favorite. It was perfectly seasoned and melts in your mouth. Highly recommend trying out this spot. The food was fantastic and service was impeccable. We will definitely be back again.
My wife and I heard of chef’s Efi new restaurant ESH in Fairfield CT. We drove all the way from central jersey to give it a try. Let me tell you, we had an exceptional and unforgettable dining experience. From the moment we stepped inside, we were amazed by the enchanting ambiance and exquisite decor. Everything was charming and vibrant. The food is nothing short of amazing. Each dish was a work of art. Beautifully presented and bursting with flavors. The octopus was out of this world and the wagyu shawarma was outstanding. The fusion of flavors and the quality of ingredients leaves a lasting impression. The service was impeccable, with the staff being very attentive and professional. Noam (the GM) was very welcoming and friendly, his kindness and hospitality is remarkable. Honestly, hands down. ESH is setting a new standards for fine dining in Fairfield.
Can’t believe we didn’t come here sooner! Amazing food, great service and impeccable ambiance! We truly enjoyed their food. Tried their dips and flatbread, roasted beet salad and BLACK ANGUS RIBEYE SHWARMA BAO BUNS - YUM! We also had Esh margarita and for dessert cocktail and we tried their pistachio martini and coal baked knafe. Make reservations, they seem packed. Will go back.
The service, staff and food here is EXCELLENT!!! I can’t believe there’s so many fake reviews that all came in during the same hour 🤔 Not mathing… the owners are wonderful people and encompass many different cultures into their food. Best date night spot or place for friends!!!
Two dinners in two weeks, and I must say that the 3rd is already in planning. What an incredible experience! The ambiance, the food, people, the service, ... everything is simply amazing! A must place to visit. At the end of the dinner, Nicole, who took excellent care of us, asked me to identify my favorite dish. I couldn't! All of them! Thank you, chef Efi, for this incredible experience! And thank you, Nicole and Emiliano, for making these dinners unforgettable!
Stunning space, the lighting design and atmosphere is spot on. The cocktails are deceptively strong and tasty. The food had all of the middle eastern flavor that you would want and expect. Crab shakshuka, bronzino, octopus, hummus, everything was delicious. The focaccias are to die for we tried two different ones. You can seriously close your eyes and randomly choose items here and you won’t regret it. Very reasonably priced considering the quality of food and ambiance. Highly recommended, will surely be returning soon
I really enjoyed my time here. Food was delicious, fresh, authentic. Cocktails were unique (and strong). Service was great!
Amazing The vibe was lively and welcoming from the minute you enter the bar space and community table was really a great space. The lay out of tables was perfect. Gary our server was so knowledgeable and helpful. his suggestions were really great for the size our our table the food was beautifully and meticulously plated it was hard to choose and gary spaced out our cources not rushed Drinks were great and an interesting wine list. Stand outs are the flat breads and appetizers. We all enjoyed everything. Can't wait to visit again
Fantastic flavorful dishes prepared with care. Subtle, flavors meld together to create a culinary delight. The flatbread was light airy cooked to perfection and the dipping oils. Fantastic accompaniment to the flavorful flatbread. We had a beef cheek ravioli that was delicious, flavorful tender handcrafted with a mushroom sauce that was light and flavorful. The roasted brussel sprouts were an added treat as well as the potatoes bravas. I highly recommend this restaurant for culinary treat
Everything was outstanding! The menu was well balanced and ingredients were all very fresh. The soft warm pita pairs very well with the spicy feta and hummus. The meat on the shawarma was seasoned perfectly. Service, drinks and the atmosphere was excellent. Will definitely be back again
We had incredible service at the bar. The servers were so friendly and knowledgeable and advised us on the menu. The food was phenomenal.. though surprisingly the duck wings were the least impressive. Amazing cocktails and a beautiful vibe!
We stopped in for dinner and really enjoyed the experience and food. We did not have a reservation but since we got there early we sat at a communal table which was just fine. The restaurant was really nicely decorated with a large communal table where at least about 12 could sit at. In addition there had a beautiful bar area when one could also dine at. It was as very nice vibe. For our meal we decided to have several plates to share. We started with the burrata which was excellent, served with some cured meat slices and nuts. Really good! We also ordered the octopus and the Wagyu Bao buns. The buns were packed with flavor, I love them. Top top everything off we had an order of the Brussel sprouts. For dessert we had the date sponge cake. It was the perfect way to end the night.
My husband and I had the best meal of our life at Esh. The atmosphere, food and awesome customer service were very impressive. We were waited on by Gary whom we know from another restaurant. He is so knowledgeable and personable. He introduced us to the owner who was lovely. It was an incredible experience. Run to Esh!!!
Every dish that graced my table was a masterpiece. The menu boasted an impressive selection of Mediterranean delicacies, showcasing the richness of the cuisine. The flavors were terrific, the spices perfectly balanced, and the presentation was exquisite. I was particularly impressed by the use of fresh, high-quality ingredients that elevated each dish to a new level. This place is an absolute culinary gem that has won my heart.
Come hungry! What an amazing new restaurant. Loved every meal and every minute spent there! The ambiance is just so romantic, relaxed and it's absolutely gorgeous: from presentation of plates and cocktails to the overall look of the place. Chef's creations are all so delicious that I can't choose which one was my favorite. Definitely recommend all Meze dips and hummus bowls (especially braised wagyu beef), tuna tartare, grilled octopus and more.
Recently had a wonderful dinner experience at Esh!! From the front area reception run by two friendly ladies, to the excellent service provided by Javier, it was the perfect evening to enjoy time with friends, who had traveled over an hour away, to meet. We ordered many plates for sharing and the food was all presented beautifully & was very tasty. I have a food allergy and felt very safe and able to enjoy dips, meats, and seafood offerings. The well-decorated atmosphere, further added to the positive experience had at Esh!! Will definitely be back!!
5-star experience through & through! Every single dish we had was exceptional, staff was incredibly hospitable, and so kind. Beautiful space and very cozy on a cold night. Everything on the menu looked delicious and we kept eyeing dishes served at other tables because everything looked great. We will definitely be back!
This is a really nice restaurant. Delicious food and it's got sort of a cool L.A. vibe. They have a lot of delicious small plates and great cocktails. Can't miss. Recommended!
My fiancé and I had a wonderful experience here. We made a reservation after our friends highly recommended Esh. We started with the hummus, tzatziki, and spicy feta. The flatbread with it was delish and the hummus was our favorite! We got the eggplant special, cigars, calamari, and zucchini fritters. Everything was great. My only issue is they were out of the Naked and Famous cocktail!
I had the pleasure of visiting Esh Modern Mediterranean at 1401 Kings Hwy, Fairfield, CT 06824, to celebrate Valentine’s Day with my friend, and I was thoroughly impressed! We didn’t expect such a warm reception, and the flavors of the drinks and the incredible decor truly exceeded our expectations. I chose the lamb pot pie as my main dish, and it was absolutely amazing. My friend said the wood burning calamari is the best! I had the Bisquit cake , I have to be back to enjoy one more . The flour used for the dish was special and organic considering the best bread ever and I really appreciate that! The atmosphere was beautifully decorated and very inviting. I would like to extend my gratitude to the waitresses for their excellent service and professionalism, as well as to the chef for the delightful flavors and artistic presentation of the dishes. Thank you to the owner for thinking of every detail to ensure a wonderful experience for your customers! We appreciated!
So we went here for restaurant week. Had a prefixed menu that had a lot of great stuff on it. My favorite part was the dips specifically the spicy feta , it was very good. I'm not a huge fan of the long bench seat with tables spread next to each other , makes me feel like I'm eating on a bus , but that's probably just a me thing. My app was delicious but my girlfriends was a little burnt . The entree's were both very good and the desserts too. All in all I would give this place another go around. At a table. 😆
If you're unfamiliar with this area the restaurant was tricky to find , however once you walked in it felt as though you were transported into a whole different city , alot bigger than expected. The dips were incredible and my favorite was the ribeye shwarma. Its a pallet for Mediterranean food so if that's not your preference this place isn't for you but if you like new experiences, Esh will definitely take you on mini trip 😋
This place is visually stunning, with an open kitchen and high ceilings. The restaurant is dimly lit, but pleasingly so. The hostess sat us right away and our server introduced himself. He immediately informed us of the specials of the day and pointed out some recent menu changes which included some new cocktails. He was an excellent server. We opted to start with the 3 dips (hummus, babaganoush, and tzatziki) and the Esh flatbread ($25). A few olives are served along with this. The bread was warm, fresh and so flavorful. While the dips were all good, the hummus was out of this world fantastic; it was creamy and had a little bit of a kick to it. We then had the Moroccan cigars,( 2 cigars for $19) with harrisa dipping sauce and the whole roasted cauliflower. The cigars had a nice taste and crunch and the dipping sauce was excellent. The cauliflower ($18 )was good, but just a tad bland and not sure I completely cared for the smokiness. They only offered 2 types of beer and had no iced tea. The cocktails were pricey. The menu is certainly unique and interesting, however there were no offerings we found for the Main Deal (entrees) that tickled our fancy and they were all quite expensive. There were some Start and Shares that I would like to try along with the lahmajoun flatbread. The entire establishment and the restrooms were very clean and well kept. Parking is in parking garage or if a few other unmarked spaces outside of the garage. I would certainly return for the lovely ambiance and that flatbread and hummus, but most likely not the place I would choose for drinks or a main course.
So my little brother took me out for lunch and and this is one of his favorite spots. And because he was treating, I decided to have the special. It was a sea bass dish. And it was fantastic, and yes, I have pictures, lol. I also had to try their mack and cheese, and it was definitely different. But it's worth a try.
I was truly torn with this one. Full disclosure first dinner out after dry January but the entirety of it was not great. Appetizers were really good and service was great but main course came out so quickly after we ordered it had to be prepared ahead and none of the main course was hot. It was warm but not hot. I want to give it another try and this rating is based on expectations.
The flatbread and dips were the best part about this place (they were delicious ). I got the halibut and my wife got the burger. The halibut was decent but it was unfortunately drowned in sauce and there were some bites that were not tender. The gnocchi was tasty. For being the most expensive dish (~$56) on the menu I expected better. We were asked for still or sparkling water and chose still and to our surprise we were charged for it when the price wasn't even on the menu. I guess we should have asked the waiter. Unfortunately no baklava on the dessert menu! Overheard the waitress saying that people can't come in and order just flatbreads anymore which is strange to say to force your customers to order certain things. Food was overall good just expected to be blown away for the price.
We came here for a birthday dinner. I was excited to try something new! The restaurant is gorgeous! The service was a bit slow but we were not in a rush so no big deal and it was also very busy so it's to be expected. Our server was kind as were the helpers. The experience here was definitely unique, in a great way. We started off with the Meze dips. 5 for 35$ and served with Flatbread and olives. They were all delicious! Definitely flavors I've never tasted before. This was the favorite part of my meal. For my entree, I ordered the North African style halibut - tomato sauce with paprika, garlic, red pepper, green chickpeas, homemade potato gnocchi & cilantro. In my opinion, the flavors were way too powerful. The fish was cooked perfectly but I sadly couldn't finish it nor anything else on my plate, it was too much for me. It tasted like I was eating a bowl full of seasoning. I do enjoy different flavors but it was not for me. This restaurant is very unique and I'm sure many people will enjoy it. It's definitely worth giving it a try.
We recently dined at esh, and we have a lot to say about this perfect date night spot! The Great: -The atmosphere is sexy and cool—great to impress a date or for a romantic dinner. We kept forgetting we were in Fairfield and not in the city! -The service was seamless. We were blown away at how attentive the wait staff was. -The tenderloin was our favorite main entree, and that dish’s scalloped potato was our most memorable bite of the night. -The brussies were a perfect 10. -We loved our drinks (esh margarita and rosé) The Okay: -The rib eye shawarma. While it was ok, it was a bit awkward to eat, and at $46, the presentation could use some refinement, especially with the open-faced pita served on a pizza pan alongside a pale pomegranate seed salad. -The crispy duck wings. Beautifully presented and still good, but for all the glaze they had, the crispiness and the flavor of the glaze wasn’t coming through as much as we expected. Overall, esh is a gem in Fairfield, and we can’t wait to return with friends and try more!
My friend and I had dinner last night. The Meze is fantastic! We had the tzatziki, baba ghanoush, and labneh. All were delicious and fresh with warm flatbread. I could eat it every day! We shared the mesclun salad that went clunk for me. The salad was drenched in a weird tasting dressing that was bitter and too oily and overwhelming. The pears and combination of items in the salad was just odd and gave me immediate indigestion. We loved the hazelnut dessert. Service is attentive and fast and friendly. The atmosphere and decor is elegant and lovely and the portions are great for sharing. The food is fresh and high quality. I'll return.
This review is written as a family with two young children having dinner at Esh — Food was absolutely delectable. Ten out of ten. Super interesting and flavorful. Zero complaints here. It should be known that Esh is not a friendly or good restaurant for young children and it doesn’t seem like they have any desire to be inclusive for these diners. For a busy night on Christmas Eve where families were aplenty, there were two high chairs in the entire restaurant. Suffice to say, our baby and toddler spent the meal sitting on our laps. They also did not allow us to order appetizers before our main meal, which was frustrating as we had hoped to get food in front of our two children swiftly. As for service, the wait staff cleared plates that still had food on them which we were eating, along with bringing wrong food to our table on multiple occasions. Upon providing feedback to the manager, my wife was met with the following response: “Well, New York City restaurants our kid friendly either.” Esh definitely had an NYC dining experience feel, which is good for some diners, but not all.
On the pricey side, but the food is good and the staff was really good. The only thing I didn't like was going with a group of people and instead of splitting up the left overs to give back to the person, they threw it into one big bag (hard for us to decipher for those who ordered the same plate). And they assumed that because we all ordered the same appetizer that it was okay to share from the same plate with bigger portions, which is fine if it was something that had a spoon or fork to get our food, however with using hands watching the people I dine with lick their hands and go back in was not okay for me. I wish they asked me instead of doing that, my point of view I paid for an appetizer I didn't get to eat, and asking for another for myself on the side, they just did it again for whole table, so I couldn't be rude to the table when the staff presented it to be for everyone at the table. But otherwise again the food was good, I would come back here -food presentation was also nice.
We’ve been going to Esh since they opened but unfortunately have been disappointed the last few times. The flatbread and hummus is always excellent, however the main dish - the beef shawarma - is not up to par with how it was when they first opened. The beef shawarma used to be wagyu beef and was tender, juicy, and melted in your mouth, exactly how it has been at every other place I have had it. The last few times it has been chewy, dry, and bitty pieces of shawarma. It is disappointing because we absolutely love this restaurant and look forward to dining here, but this last year have been severely disappointed every time. I am sorry to say I will not be back until there is a quality change to the meat used for the beef shawarma.
Enjoyed our meal there. Food was tasty and innovative. Service was excellent. Major complaint is the music which was too loud and varied between acceptable Middle Eastern and some type of techno which repeated ad nauseum the same three notes with loud boom boom boom of percussion. Breads are excellent. The appetizer shawarma very substandard. Pricing is over aggressive $ 16-18 for a glass of wine. Beer pour was tiny.
I chose this place for a birthday dinner and left pretty disappointed. Service was the main issue. Our server was rude, spilled water on my friend, and felt rushed and unhelpful the entire time. The food was alright, but for the price, I expected much better. If you’re vegetarian or vegan, be extra careful. The menu is confusingly formatted, and I believe I may have accidentally eaten meat in the Brussels sprouts dish. That was frustrating and avoidable. Also worth noting: if you bring a cake from outside, they charge $7 per slice to bring it in 🥴 Overall, not the experience I hoped for, especially for a celebration.
Food is OK, service is great - but I can`t help getting the feeling of a "factory" atmosphere. No mediterranean decoration, the music is a wild mix of all kinds of styles and epochs, and the prices are way too high for what you get. Unfortunately this was a one-time experience for me.
The waitstaff felt rushed and uninterested in helping us navigate the menu. Very slow as well, took so long for our waitress to take orders/smooth transitions.. The food was alright but nothing to write home about. The manager is not that nice either when an issue occurred. Would spend my time somewhere worth my time and something authentic.
I’m writing this review now, and willing to update it based on whether I receive a call back from a “busy” manager. Due to the upcoming snow storm, I was excited to celebrate my birthday at Esh on Saturday night. The only plan of the weekend that wasn’t canceled due to impending weather. I had communicated with the person planning to watch my very young children throughout the course of the entire day and confirmed multiple times we were still on. That person, for reasons I don’t know as of writing this, never showed up or answered the many phone calls i made. I hope she is ok and not in any sort of danger. I had my friend who had already driven over an hour to meet me there ask to cancel the reservation and apologize. She tried to do so, but was told I would be charged $210 for no show. She offered to eat at the table with her husband (instead of the 6 person Rez) and was told it wasn’t possible. It had to be 4. This is a popular restaurant with many reviews and stars. I find it hard to believe they couldn’t fill the table or create 3 tables of 2, esp given it took around 10 phone calls to talk to anyone because they were exceedingly busy. I work in the corporate world and understand that I caused an inconvenience and that has repercussions. What I’m asking for here is compassion. Can we really not put ourselves in the shoes of another human and have some empathy? Im honestly just a little blown away. Edit: the manager did call me back and offered me a gift card for the amount they are going to charge me. While I would have preferred not to pay anything at all, I was encouraged by this display of decency. Considered increasing the stars based on this development, but I cannot get beyond the way myself and my friend were spoken to by the hostess.
