Food was so good! Love it! It was a little spendy but I will visit them again. :)

I had the Makers 46 Beef Tips...Fantastic! The people I was with also loved their meals...grouper, "Hoosier Hot Plate, " and some other fish entree that was the special. They have many craft brews on tap and in bottles.

Delicious! Their food leaves a happy feeling in your mouth :)

Great service, great food. We enjoyed the outdoor seating. The sawmill gravy is some of the best I've ever had. I'm a meat and potato girl, this place hit the spot

This was my first time here and everything was absolutely amazing. The service was 12 out of 10. These people are super attentive and polite. I went with the smashburger and the mac and cheese. The smashburger was delicious and checks every box. I was hoping for a little more from the mac and cheese and honestly the flavor profile was perfect it just wasn't very creamy. My drink was a smoked old fashioned and it was play game changer. My friend got the tenderloin and he said it was "outstanding". And just as a side note I asked if I could get a sample of the blue cheese coleslaw and I was absolutely blown away by this flavor profile. I will definitely be getting this the next time I go back! Very nice atmosphere and I will definitely be back because I want to try that ribeye next.

Wonderful fare! The Wedge salad and Hoosier Hot Plate were OUTSTANDING!

Had a great experience dining here with my wife this evening. Food, staff, and atmosphere were excellent. We each had a wedge salad and shared an order of poutine. She ordered the filet medallions with brussel sprouts, and I had the Cajun Mac 'N Cheese. Everything was delicious. The only slight let-down was the shrimp in the Mac 'N Cheese. It was a bit rubbery, but the rest of the dish was great. The staff was very friendly and personable, and we both really liked the vibe of the place. Not too loud, and seemed like a really upscale place to dine in a small town.

First and foremost Alison is an amazing waitress. She took her time to tell us the specials and answer all of our questions as this was our first time here. The food was fantastic 10/10! It’s so delicious that you want to share with friends. If you haven’t been here yet it’s a must try.

We went for our anniversary. We shared a wedge salad which was big enough for two. I love blue cheese and the dressing was chunky goodness. We both had the medallions but I had the brussels and mac & cheese. Brought home half my food as I was full from the yummyness of the brussels. We did have 6:00 reservations but could have gotten in at that hour with no problem. By 6:30 you'll wait for a table on Saturday night.

Totally 5 star all around!!!! We had the ribeye, wedge salad, pretzel, brussel sprouts, and smashed potatoes. Every bite was delish! And the coffee was very good! I would drive 2 hrs to eat here! And our waitress, Carley, was really attentive and nice.

Cannot recommend the wedge salad enough! Love this place. Never fells, great food and great service! Thanks Jillian! Everything was great as usual tonight! Tried the new Honey Truffle Chicken and it was perfect!

Great place for comfort/new twist. Chef is on point with creative dishes that will titillate the sences. True mixologist cocktails will round out your gourmet meal.

Had friends visiting from out of state. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the pleasant atmosphere.

My family brought me here for my birthday and the experience has been exceptional. Our waitress, Katie, has stayed on top of our large party and patient with the kiddos. Everyone was very satisfied with their meals. Can’t wait to come back!!

We really liked this place. The food was so good. The fish tacos had a great flavor. As did the grilled chicken sandwich and the house burger. I got a second patty. Highly recommended that! Whatever method they use to grill gives such a good flavor. Reminded me of Flamme Burger in Indy. Thought the plates were slightly small and sitting by the window there were some run down houses right across the street. Hardly a drawback. We will be going back.

Had a wonderful dinner! Tried the beef tips and they were SO delicious! Jillian was an excellent server!! Had a very nice dinner out. Came all the way from Indianapolis and glad we did.

Ate there Friday night, excellent filets grilled to order. Tasty sides. Did do the Lava cake for desert, it was excellent. Don’t recall our servers name, a tall, younger lady. She did a great job and checked on us fairly often. She is an asset to their team. On weekends reservations are not required, but occasionally not a bad idea.

Valentine's dinner was amazing! Food, drinks, service, everything was on point. It was really busy but Taylor knocked it out. Thank you for a terrific evening!

Our first visit was an outstanding success, thanks entirely to our amazing waitress, Alison. She went above and beyond, patiently walking us through the specials and answering all our questions. Her commitment to making us feel welcome was truly appreciated. The food itself was the perfect complement, earning a fantastic 10/10! It was so delicious we immediately wanted to share the discovery with friends. This place is a must-try for both the quality cuisine and the impeccable service.

What an incredible meal! From the ribeye to the brussels sprouts and the smashed potatoes, everything was cooked to perfection. The pretzel and wedge salad were also standouts. The service was just as good as the food—Carley was wonderful and made sure we had everything we needed. 10/10 experience, we can't wait to retur

The atmosphere at Grains and Grill is charming, the servers are top notch, and we haven't tried an entree we didn't love! The Hoosier Hotplate is a must try when you visit because it is fantastic! It is definitely worth a bit of a drive to get to historic Fairmount, home of James Dean and cartoonist Jim Davis. Stop by the museum, then head a few blocks down the road for a great meal. Oh, and the brewpub in the back is a great spot too!

I had one of the best salads I’ve ever eaten! The fried chicken on it and everything else was so good. If you get dessert, get the bread pudding. So good too!

The sprouts are AMAZING. Best around! Good service and yummy food. Despite being full for reservations, we were seated quickly and the food came out in a timely manner.

Meal was delicious. I had the special of the evening, a pork schnitzel with smashed potatoes. I started with a salad that was, frankly, a little disappointing. About half the size of similarly-priced salads at most any other similar restaurant.

The food is spectacular as always, but they have recently slashed the menu options significantly. There is one chicken dish, one fish dish, one pork dish, and two steak options. (Along with the standard sandwich options) I still love it, but we will be looking elsewhere to bring out of town guests.

Good food and drinks, service was super slow. I actually went to the bar and got my own drinks after being ignored by the staff for 15 minutes. I have been twice and the service was equally slow both times... but i will likely go back soon for the food and drinks.

Service was great. 2/3 adult entrees came out perfect! The chicken parmigiana that was featured last night was excellent as well as the Honey Truffle Chicken. The Filet was cooked very rare when asking for medium well however we’ve seen the movie waiting and did not send it back! Drinks made from the bar were excellent! We enjoy eating dinner here atleast 1-2 times per month! Please add a changing table to the bathroom!!!!

The restaurant was ok. We traveled over two hours to try it out. The food was just ok. A bit pricey for that type of establishment. We wanted it to be great! It took us two years to finally get to go. We understand food and running a restaurant isn't cheap. They have somewhat of a small menu. Our server wasn't to friendly. We felt her attitude kinda changed once she found out that we weren't ordering alcohol and the most expensive meal on the menu. Just our opinion. We wouldn't say not to go there, but study the menu before going. Overall feeling a bit disappointed.

We made reservations, which I highly recommend. We eat here about once a month. Our server was very friendly to her other tables, but not to us. We didn’t hear specials. We asked for bread and didn’t get it….and here is a tip, you have to ask for bread. Our food was way below average. My husband’s burger was more like a slider and charred. My chicken was tough. We typically get dessert, but the waitress brought our bill and didn’t even mention the special desserts. This experience was an epic fail. The problem is sometimes it’s a pretty good experience and sometimes it’s an ok experience. You never know what you will get.

Was up next for a table but then the owner came up and took the next table for herself causing us to wait longer. Food was not bad though!

We were excited to try this place but left very disappointed. The food was bad. I ordered a 6oz filet that came out so salty that I couldn’t eat most of it. The fries were floppy and over salted, too. The Mac & Cheese that looked so good was extremely bland. My husband had the grilled tenderloin which he says was ‘alright’. His sweet potato fries were also soggy and over salted. The waitress only came by once or twice, and we had to wait a long time for the bill and then again for her to come and get our payment. I asked for a to-go drink at the end and was told they do not have those. We will not be back.

Waitress was slow at everything, food was to salty and twice had to go to the bartender for our drinks refilled. Service was great as long as we went to the bar. Not worth what we paid.

Went for a date night and try some place new to us. I ordered the hot plate which was a fried chop with mashed potatoes and creamed corn. The chop was very greasy. They did not allow substitutions on this meal. Which didn’t make sense. Not everybody wants corn poured over there meal. The mashed potatoes were very good when I didn’t get a chunk of corn in it. I also ordered a side of mac and cheese. This had no flavor and was very greasy. This was also 5$ and for the small scoop I got, felt overpriced. My husband ordered the tenderloin and fries. The tenderloin had no flavor. The fries were not cooked all the way. The service was very slow as well. We saw our server probably 3 times. Our food came out fairly quick however. The place is great for atmosphere, but lacks in service and flavor.

Got 2 meals on Valentine’s Day, trying to get nice food for the night. A tenderloin and a WELL burger. The burger had multiple raw spots and all food was extremely unseasoned. Either undercooked or overcooked and dry.

This was our 2nd visit to Grains and Grill. The first time was great. This time I was very disappointed. This place is expensive and your food should be as it is listed on the menu. I ordered filet medallions, which is listed with hollandaise sauce and bacon. Mine had neither. I asked our server and when she checked with the kitchen she was told no. She offered to, at least, bring melted butter. She came back with butter( not melted) and said that was all they had. so my meal was incomplete. My sister in law asked for cherries for her drink and was told they didn’t have any. What bar doesn’t have cherries??? I called and asked for an owner or manager. I spoke with someone who told me that maybe the restaurant didnt receive the items to make the sauce or bacon. I should have been told that when I ordered and I would not have ordered it. I was only told she would check into what happened but she didn’t take any of my contact info to offer an explanation. No explanation given for not having cherries. Needless to say, I was not happy with this experience and will not be going back

Was there at 9 o’clock and was obvious immediately waitress didn’t want to serve us , she was rude and service was very poor! Wife ordered sweet potato fries but was served smashed potatoes instead, when we ask the waitress she said they were out and that’s what she got, even though another person in our party got them, no apology or anything! Never refilled drinks! Worst experience with a waitress in along time! Wont be back! Staff really just wanted to hang around bar!
