The food is very good. The staff is super friendly, and though the restaurant looks small at first it's actually much bigger once you get to the back. Very clean, bright, and open.
I will preface this by saying I am Irish. But I love king david's food. They always kill it, chicken, falafel, their salads, hummus, FRIES. Their falafel and hummus pita wraps are my go to. Amazing place. They even helped me when I messed up and got home with the wrong order.
Hands down the best schwarma I've ever had. Falafel was also amazing. And the cofee?? Absolutely amazing. I really enjoyed the ambience, it's a very cozy little place. I would have never known there was seating in the back if my sister hadn't told me to meet them in the back. I'm very much looking forward to going back.
Excellent service, great food. A delightful place for a meal, for a couple or a family (even offering plain American-style kids meal options). Food is served quickly and accurately every time that we have gone.
Amazing food, price, atmosphere and speedy service. Nothing out of a can here. Everything is freshly prepared including the dolmades (stuffed grape leaves) which are the best I've ever had. The beef chawarma is out of this world. Can't wait to go back.
One of our favorite places to eat in Syracuse. I've tried most of the menu and never been disappointed. Unfortunately they recently stopped offering their asparagus fries, which were my favorite appetizer. Bring back the asparagus fries!
One of my ALL time favorite restaurants. Been going here since I was a kid. Absolutely fantastic! Great service and atmosphere. The grape leaves are to die for.
Another location of a long standing Syracuse gem. My Shwarma platter was excellent, and my gf's bbq gyro was also great. Fast service, they are not currently waiting tables but you can still eat in. You just order at the counter and sit.
I love King David's in Town Center Fayetteville, NY I love all the staff the food is Amazingly delicious, clean and fresh. The prices are great i am a number fan of everyone at King Daivd's especially "Jason" best Authentic mediterranean delectable foods. I love the service everyone is very family Oriented. I eat there at least 3-4 times per-week! Definitely Din with the King! Pat Jones
Lunch time was busy but we were able to order quickly. We got our food in a reasonable amount of time. Souvlaki platter was excellent as was the vegetarian plate.
I has a Mediterranean salad with put a croutons. I especially like the croutons. I ordered filafal with hummus. Luckily I had plenty of filafal because my grand niece loved them and I had plenty to share with our year and 4 month old baby.
At lunchtime orders are taken at the counter; food is handed to you really quickly. You can get meal to go or seat yourself in the dining room. Great if you are pressed for time. The food is very, very fresh and delicious!
This is the best place for Greek Food in Central NY. Everything is good on the menu and the place is clean with seating in the little mall outside the restaurant. I've brought over 75 people to eat here and no one yet has had a complaint.
I got the Farrow bowl with the steak and it's my favourite and the falafel is delicious crunchy outside and nice almost pillowy inside. They have the best bak lava here in highly recommend the pecan one it's a must have.
Nice little Mediterranean restaurant; they have lots of menu options, and the service is fast and efficient. I had the fried calamari with sweet wasabi sauce (excellent!), and the barbecue gyro...probably the best gyro I've had in a long time! King David's also offers vegetarian/vegan/gluten free menu options as well.
Our family has loved this restaurant for almost ten years, both for dining in and take-out. The food is always freshly prepared and delicious! Most of your Middle-Eastern staples/comfort foods can be found on the menu, and they've even prepared a couple of older (now gone) menu items for us when we've asked. Friendly staff, and fast service. Our only gripe is the small amount of pita bread they provide with meals and appetizers, and how expensive it has become to purchase extra. Although not ideal, we just purchase extra pita or Naan elsewhere before picking up our food, and we're good to go! Otherwise, can't complain-it's one of our favorite casual restaurants in the area!
Everything we have ordered here has been so delicious. Plenty of vegan options!! Takeout is easy with all the new Covid regulations. They have curbside pickup too if you are being extra cautious about exposure! Best restaurant in town.
I LOVE middle eastern food! Just moved to the area and found this restaurant online, based off of others reviews decided to try it out. It is a very intimate setting. Cleanly place. Nice atmosphere. All the staff are very polite and always seem to have a smile on their face. The prices are ideal. The food was awesome! I got a gyro bowl and a chocolate hazelnut baklava, both were wonderful! My mom got a falafel pita sandwich, which I tried a piece of the falafel, and I have to say that is THE BEST falafel I have had by far, along with the baklava. I would most definitely come back for another great experience and recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys middle eastern food. You will not be disappointed!
Food was great, the company was awesome and the atmosphere was fun. I had the vegetarian plate, my brother in law had the spanoptika, my one sister had a falafel sandwich and my two other sisters and mom each had some sort of salad. We just had great conversation and very good food.
King David's serves middle eastern food. It started decades ago near the Syracuse University campus and was quite popular when I would visit late 1970's and early 1980's. About 15 years ago or so it opened this branch of their locally famous restaurant. The food is as good as ever and inexpensive. Some of the offerings are naturally vegetarian. In the past few years they've become aware of gluten free and I think they have a separate menu consisting of only gluten free option.
It seems like many places I have been, have just disappointed me. However, I wanted King David's for my special Mother's Day Dinner and it was FANTASTIC. They never disappoint, their food is always fresh and great! Thank you for a fantastic Mother's Day!!
Always a great experience at King David’s! Reasonable prices, generous portions, and friendly staff. Service is always efficient.
Hands down one of my favorite places to eat in the Syracuse area. I have enjoyed the food for years and the service is outstanding every single time. I love the vegetarian plate and the Greek Salad but everything is amazing.
King David's has long been a favorite of mine, since the days they were located in the Food Court at The Galleries of Syracuse, and now my entire family loves their food as well. I always get the Greek Chicken Salad and am never disappointed. Try their baklava too; It's outstanding! Friendly staff and quick service.
Went and had a quick dinner and dessert and the service was excellent and quick. The establishment was very clean. The food was delicious we had Lamb Gyros and baklava and both were the best in our area. The baklava is the best I’ve ever had. Shout out to Latifah for the great service.
Always a great experience visiting King David’s in Fayetteville, NY.
I'm glad I returned to order another Greek salad, it was perfect. Turns out the restaurant was training new people, and were simply working through that process. The food quality is excellent and the staff are always friendly. Best Mediterranean food in the area.
I’ve liked King David’s since before Google reviews. My family recently relocated back to the area and were excited to get our first take-out order since moving home. The restaurant was obviously struggling, not with the menu (diverse, with gluten free options!), price (lower than anywhere else locally) or portions (generous!), but the new employees were so uninterested in working or being managed, and the distraught manager couldn’t possibly do it all herself. So, our order was not what we expected (actually, really bad …. totally DOA) but the owner made it right immediately. Don’t judge a business based on a problem, judge on the resolution. We will be back and eat again because we know it’s going to be better. They’ve been in business 40 + years because they know how to make a great meal.
the new Crispy Gyro special is to die for! Everything is always delicious from this location
During a dreary snow squall in Syracuse, NY, I’m transported to the sun bathed, cliff sides of the Mediterranean with each bite of my Chicken Farro bowl. The flavors true to the land King David must call home. This bowl was absolutely delicious from my first bite to the last. A hearty portion of a Farro foundation, tender and perfectly seasoned chicken and lamb submerged in a field of wild mushrooms and kale. Atop the bowl is a garlic, sirracha aoili positioned like a crowning jewel for the king dish.
Great food and very friendly staff will definitely return
always a great meal at king david’s. farro bowl, nyc bowl, and lemon chicken soup are standouts, but everything they make is delish!
Loved the gyros! My wife called it a "Greek or Mediterranean Moe's on steroids". Food was amazing all around and we'll be going back for sure. The atmosphere was nice and quiet. They also have a fun little courtyard in the back for sunny days. More importantly, the staff was friendly and helpful. I was asking my wife what tabooli was and a staff member immediately offered to get me a sample to try!
Have been several times this year and a customer for over 40 years. Recently ordered catering for a memorial service and King Davids knocked it out of the park. Blaine was professional, easy to contact, quick to respond. The service was timely and friendly. The food is always yummy. Very little left over and we had almost 15 extra people. Will definitely use them again.
The food here is amazing! Me and my Mom get it whenever we are close and I have never had a bad experience. Employees are very nice and helpful. Highly suggest it to anyone who wants a good meal!
Hits the garlic spot - awesome pita
I come here at least once a week during my breaks. Food always tastes wonderful and the people working are always very nice. Highly recommend!
Such a great place, the Girls and I meet up here weekly. Menu is fresh and consistent. We also get take out as well because we like the range of menu items, and there's something for everyone. We order for lunch or dinner. Staff always kind, helpful, and professional.
fantastic staff! always so friendly, amazing food. I just LOVE the new crispy chawarma!!
Wife and I got lunch. First time there. Excellent explanation of menu items and suggestions and details of ordering etc. We got different variants of gyro bowl. Very good, tasty. I felt like my stomach was being hugged. Definitely going back
Great selection and reasonably priced Mediterranean food . Gluten free and vegetarian choices too. I love their bowls.
We first discovered this catering at my father-in-law’s birthday, and I instantly fell in love with the food. When it came time to plan our wedding, choosing them was one of the easiest and best decisions we made. Their online menu made everything simple to choose from, the prices were exceptional, and the service was so thoughtful every step of the way. What made it even more special is that we were able to honor my husband ’s Greek heritage through the menu, and then we paired it with Venezuelan desserts—it was the perfect blend of our families and cultures. The food was absolutely delicious and our guests are still talking about how much they enjoyed it. We are so grateful for their role in making our celebration unforgettable and would recommend them wholeheartedly!
I have always had great meals at king David’s & service as well. Dining there with family & friends are great as well as take-outs.
King David's catered my wedding and they did a fantastic job! My guests all said this was some of the better wedding food they've had, and we loved it! They have something for everyone, gluten free, vegan, dairy free, etc. They accommodated a wide range of allergies and dietary restrictions and everyone had plenty of delicious options! They are so easy to work with, very organized and knowledgeable, and they are a family owned business which is another plus! Definitely recommend.
I always love their food, the grape leaves are a special treat! They accommodate special requests when possible, and the Baklava with Turkish Coffee highlights any moment and can brighten my mood from any despair I’ve had thus far. Merely thinking about it makes me anticipate my next visit eagerly!
I've been enjoying King David's Mediterranean food since the mid-70's. The original restaurant on Marshall Street was established by the father of the current owners who worked for their dad as young men. When the father retired, the business was divided, with one son opening a new restaurant in Fayetteville and the other taking over the Marshall Street location, but moving to a smaller upstairs space. Having eaten at both restaurants, it is my opinion that the larger Fayetteville restaurant serves the best food. The chicken pesto pizza is an excellent starter for 2-4 to share. The platform is a 12" piece of crispy pita bread topped with delicious cheese, chicken, black olives, tomatoes, and pesto sauce. For your main course, try the babagnouge ala carte platter which includes salad, pita bread, and a falafel patty, or order the chicken shish kabob over rice which comes with salad, falafel, pita bread, and hummus. Other items on the menu that we love include the beef chawarma sandwich, the Greek salad with chicken, and when it's available, the mushroom soup. For something different, try the apricot nectar as a beverage. I think it pairs well with the food, particularly if you make liberal use of the hot sauce. At the far end of the dining room, there's a door leading to a skylight-lit patio that's pleasant in the summer. For lunch, you place your order at the register as you enter and it's delivered to your table. At dinner, you are seated and the waitstaff takes your order and brings your food. Service is excellent and the environment is relaxed and comfortable. UPDATE-1: It seems that the pita bread may be thinner than it once was. The beef shawarma sandwich falls apart pretty easily. Delicious with added Frank's Red Hot, but a little messy. UPDATE-2: I was up for a light lunch and chose a Greek salad without chicken. It served the purpose perfectly and tasted great. UPDATE-3: Even though the fattoush salad is no longer on the menu, the staff kindly prepared it for me. It was very good, but I do prefer the Greek salad.
Best middle eastern food I’ve had in this area so far. Price is great, friendly staff, quick take out, nice portion size & tasty food. Best falafel I’ve ever had and the hummus is to die for. I ordered the stuffed grape leaves and chawarma platter and paid $24 after tip. If the owner is reading this, please consider selling your falafel in frozen bulk packs.
We stopped in for lunch and experienced pleasant Middle Eastern cuisine. You order cafeteria style right where you walk in and whatever isn't ready to take a waitress will bring it to your table. You grab your own drinks and silverware keeping in the cafeteria style and seat yourself. We went for the sampler- baba ghanoush, hummous, kibbeh, falafel, beef kebobs and an additional side of tabbouleh. The dish came with four big pillowy pitas to scoop with. It was all well seasoned and delicious. Anyone who says they don't like Middle Eastern food simply hasn't tried it.
The food was delicious and ready pretty quickly without compromising the integrity of the food. Ordered the fried calamari, the Gyro platter and dolmades which were all cooked perfectly. The portions are just right. The staff was pleasant and the setting is very nice. Wonderful little place to eat.
Great Greek dishes with wonderful and friendly staff. Prices were very reasonable too. I spent about $35 for a dinner with 2. Food was fresh and tasted delicious! I think we only waited but 10 minutes for our order. The atmosphere was cozy and quiet. Great place to have a fast meal that's not ordinary. We will definitely return.
$5 gyros for month of March
Did lunch at King David's. Ordered vegetarian stuffed grape leaves, Lamb kabob plate that came with Greek salad, rice, hummus and pita bread. Finished with traditional baklava. The grape leaves brought me back to my childhood. Baklava was excellent. Meal was a bit expensive for lunch. Would frequent this place again.
Delicious selection of middle eastern food. The decoration and layout are a bit strange, but their food is fast and tasty. Lots of vegetarian options. Gluten free menu is available as well as gluten free pitas.
King David’s prepares the best Mediterranean foods in the area. They know what they are doing. My favorites are The Super Sampler, which has a little of everything and the Mazza for Two, which is similar to the Sampler without the Kebob. They are very friendly and fast!
Could be better. Flavor was good but not enough actual "toppings" mostly rice in the loaded gryo bowl. But it's the closest to the real thing I've had so far here in NY.
There is no more dinner service. It's more "fast casual" now, where you order and pay up front, get your own drinks, and use disposable silverware. I don't recommend for large parties due to this, and lack of space. We sat in the mall section. They have a section of tables behind the restaurant, in the mall hallway. So not the best atmosphere since you are in a silent, closed mall, sitting at what seems like old food court furniture. The falafel and baklava was good tho.
My food was delicious other than the Dolma. The grape leaves were delicious but the inside part was hard and dry, not tasty like I was hoping and craving. I made a call to make sure it wasn't old...it wasn't...thats just the way they make them. Otherwise my other food was delicious. Disappointed though because I miss the food from the country I lived in for 3 years. Will go back tho.
Good food and friendly service. The falafel is fabulous!
You walk in and order at the counter, they give you a number, and you go find a table. At lunch time it was medium busy, so there were plenty of places to sit. The food came out pretty quick. The workers were kind as well. I had the loaded falafel bowl, and it was good. Everything tasted fresh, but it says it has French fries in the bowl, but there were only like five fries which is not a lot. One of the people I came with had the same issue with her bowl, and my other friend had the chicken salad gyro and enjoyed it. I would recommend visiting! Lots of good options to choose from.
Speedy service and authentic cuisine were hallmarks of this wonderful Greek location. The only thing holding me from a 5-star review was the meager meat portions, which I had to rectify by ordering a second side of gyro meat to compensate. Our waitress was very friendly, and brought our out appetizers and meals in a timely fashion. The flavor of the dishes was very impressive, and reminded me of the foods my Greek neighbor used to cook when I was young. I would recommend this location for those seeking an authentic Greek experience. If this review was helpful, please consider a thumbs up. It would be greatly-appreciated!
Food was only ok. Gyro was full of strong cooking onions which ruined it. This place is now just a fast food joint. No table service. Plastic tableware. Very disappointing. I won't be going back.
The food was not horrible, but it was not very good. The Greek platter came with hummus, but no pita bread. I had high expectations because of the high rating, but it was average at best.
I just paid $13 for a loaded gyro bowl. That use to be literally LOADED! Thanks for the 6 pieces of chicken and a bowl full of rice. I will not be coming back to be ripped off.
Decent. Not great, but decent. Would be nice to be asked how I like my gyro, as I just prefer pita, meat, and a bit of feta. All the onions and lettuce, nah, and having to pick that out was a bit irritating. Could use a bit more protein in the gyro, as well.
The staff continues to struggle with check-out. This was the second time recently that .y pre-paid food was ready and packed, but just sitting with the cashier - not where pick-ups are supposed to be placed. While I was in the restaurant another customer came in and said they had been waiting for some time for curbside delivery. Their food was sitting on the counter - I never saw anyone check the curbside pick-up for customers. Competent check-out service seems to continues to allude King David's.
The shawarma platter had very little meat. Meat was cold and uncooked. The waiter was courteous and didn’t charge me for it and gave me another sandwich to go for free. Not sure if I’ll return in the near future.i need to forget this bad experience first.
Very disappointing. Used to be great food, great dining. Just a bunch of dirty tables, they brought our food and we had to ask for silver ware. The girl brought us plastic sporks in a wrapper. Had to hunt down our own napkins. Just fast food, cafeteria style. Really gone downhill. Too bad, used to a great restaurant. Won't be going there again.
I got the beef shwarma bowl while my wife got the gyro salad. She loved her meal. I liked the meat and veggies in my shwarma bowl, but they were laid out on a huge amount of rice. 2/3 of the bowl was rice. Because my wife loved it so much, we'll be back to try again.
After reading reviews about gluten-free items, specifically gluten-free pita, i wanted to give this place a try. Let's start with the positives. Prices and portion sizes are decent. The food was bland in flavor, it was edible, but not enjoyable. The gluten-free "pita" was ok, it was more of a flatbread sort of thing. I would likely not eat here again. Not sure how it gets such high ratings.
Food was ok. Service sux! I asked the server for a fork and she pointed to the front of the restaurant. Walked up and couldn't find the forks so asked the next girl and she pointed to it. As I was walking back to my table I turned around and noticed the girls looking disgusted at me and whispering. Uhmm yea I was upset because I had to go get my own fork obviously one plate had a missing fork. Not coming back at all!
The food and service has always been great but recently the place smells like the nail salon next door. To me it destroys all reason to go. You can't get the chemical taste out of your nose and mouth. I think the staff is now HIGH and no longer notices how bad it smells. They have to force the landlord to fix it yesterday! There is no excuse. If I owned KD I would not pay a cent of rent if my restaurant smelled like nail polish remover!! Resturant 101, don't smell like nasty chemicals...
Used to be my favorite. Now despite increased prices, we are no longer served at the table. Tableware and utensils are plastic. All of the familiar happy staff have gone. Meat is bland. Pita bread is dry and stale. Salads are wilted. Grape leaves are tough. Even the amazing hummus has lost its flavor. What a shame.
This actually had nothing to do with the food. Our meal was great. Unfortunately, this was more of a customer service rating. I would gove it a one star but we were in line behind a nasty customer and the young girl at the register handled the situation great after getting money thrown at her for no reason. This was to the cooks in the back... they CLEARLY do not want to be there. The girl with the backwards cap, every other word out of her mouth was the F word. Complaining about people watching her all day and so on. Like you work in a kitchen that is COMPLETELY open.... if you don't like it then please do us customers a favor and go find a different job. I mean it was so horrible that my very patient husband said that we were never coming back here again. We have been going there for over 10 years. I NEVER post terrible or bad reviews but I find this so uncalled for.
Whatever this thing is you call shawarma, it is not shawarma (Google the shawarma recipe at least); food tasteless and dry. I like the atmosphere and the music, and the people working here were friendly to us. It is an excellent place to spend your time, but probably not to eat.
They continue to put less and less gyro meat on there platter. This time I actually weighed the meat. Less then 3 oz. For $17
So The atmosphere and workers are great, I ordered the chawarma platter, the chicken was what i think of as boiled chicken with no seasoning. Not good, the sauce used had a strong taste of peanut butter which was kind of odd also used way to much sauce.Overall the food was not very good at all Kabab guys blows this place out of the water, but you can barely compare the two because kabab guys is real Mediterranean. Now one thing i would like to point out that was good about their food is the falafel, that and the hummus was decent & presentation was very nice. Sorry to bash you guys but this is not Mediterranean at all, sauce tasted more thai then it did Mediterranean.
I went here with my gf, the chicken seemed to be boiled and was flavorless. She didn’t even finish her meal after not eating all day. This place is a weak representation of Mediterranean food.
Came in for lunch and ordered the chicken swar pita and a side of fries (I misread their specials and thought I could pick two so also got falafel. Pita was over sauced and lukewarm. When I went back up to the corner the girl told me I would have to pay for fries even though it was the cashiers mistake. She said she spoke to her Manager and the manager said ‘no fries.’ I told her it was poor customer service and another ‘manager’ came out and tried to make it right by offering baklava and then finally offering fries. Obviously less than a couple of dollars worth of fries aren’t the issue. More of the idea of focusing on food quality and good customer service.
Ordered a falafel rice bowl for takeout. The bowl was 98% rice with the toppings, other then the few small falafel, being almost non existent. I've previously dined in and received a fair amount of toppings on an equivalent order. I would be wary about ordering takeout from here.
On 4/3/19 I my wife picked up a takeout order for dinner, around 6pm. I got my gyro and the meat was crunchy! All the meat was burnt and crusty when I dumped the meat out of the wrap after the 2nd bite. This quality of this location has gone downhill since the guy with the moustache left. The gyros used to be hot and fresh , but this group is losing!!! Do better. Fayetteville.
Honestly the food was absolutely infuriatingly disgusting! The portions given were a joke for the price, and the customer service was ABSOLUTELY abysmal! This is an HONEST review from someone who has had Middle Eastern food from California to NY and every state in between. There are a few other Middle Eastern restaurants in CNY to go to the are MUCH better and more authentic such as Sumera in Syracuse and Zeinas Cafe in Utica. Don’t be fooled by this imitation middle eastern food.
Well first, apparently there's no wait staff, so you order up front and they bring it to your table. Which is weird. But ok. Then you have to bring your own dishes to the bussing area. Ok... But the food was just not good. Some was ok. The falafels and eggplant fries were very dark, but not from being over cooked. You could tell the oil hadn't been changed in a while. Started making me sick to my stomach. The babaganough and pitas were cold. And then just as I was putting my food in a to go box, an employee sprays the table behind me with chemicals. I know they have to clean, but cmon. Nothing worse than smelling chemicals while you're trying to eat. And turn on some music in the dining area. I was afraid to talk it was so quiet. Go to Goodies if you want excellent Mediterranean food.
Wow I have no idea how this place has such good reviews. Easily the worst food I’ve had in years and by far the worst hummus, pita, rice, or kafta I’ve ever had, ever. So disappointing. I enjoyed the side salad and falafel, but that’s it. My friend said his gyro was decent and the fries looked good so maybe try that.
Food came quick seeing that I only ordered stuffed grape leaves. Cashier was cold and others were not really interested. The lamb in the grape leaves tasted like potted meat mush and they were just tossed in container without care and falling apart. Anyway never again glad that was all I got.
We used to come here a lot since our project is just down the road and I usually order the same food. For some reason, the same lady with a pink or purple highlight wasn’t paying attention to the order even after I repeated it twice. Sure paid for my food and drinks during my lunch break and still got the wrong food order. And yet this lady insisted that she’s right when there’s a younger girl with her when I placed the same order that I get all the time. Thanks for the wrong food. I ended up leaving without eating my order but the soup since my break is over.
My father and I came in on February 13, 2026, looking forward to having a nice dinner at King David. I was surprised to see that the menu did not match the menu we had consulted online. When we got there, we learned that that the items we wanted was not available on the menu. One of the servers spoke to us rudely and said, “that’s a menu from about five years ago.” That would’ve been fine — except for that the server became ever nastier telling us it was our problem that we had looked at the wrong menu. I strongly recommend that you remove old menus from the website because it is very confusing for patron. I also strongly recommend that you train your staff to be polite to patrons. I read somewhere on one of your reviews that you responded to saying that you always “strive to make things right with your customers,” but that was definitely not the case tonight. We ended up walking out and going elsewhere, where we had a great meal and we were actually treated politely. I will NEVER ever go back. Bad food is one thing, lousy service is worse.
I went there today with my boyfriend, I ordered the chicken platter combo and was VERY disappointed… I was serve a plate of white uncle Ben’s rice with what seems like boiled chicken! There was no garlic sauce and the lady taking our ordered even offered salt and pepper because she too knew how bland and flavorless it was! I couldn’t even finish my meal! Left there STILL starving!!! NOT REAL MEDITERRANEAN FOOD
