Opinions de The Dutchess Biercafe Fishkill
We sat outside and it was very nice. I had the chicken and waffle sandwich, delicious. Pretzel was great. Everyone else highly enjoyed their meals too. The bear was good. The waitstaff was excellent, she was bubbly and very helpful.
Fantastic dinner at the Dutchess Biercafe! Excellent food, fun atmosphere, fantastic service!
Great dog friendly patio with incredible servers and food. Everyone is always so nice and the food is some of the best around. Huge beer selection, something for everyone.
By far my favorite restaurant for many years. Cheese curds, simple salad with chicken or steak and fries with a shirley temple does the trick every time. And don’t forget to try the seasonal bread pudding!
Good food, good beer, but someone else needs to be on aux next time. 21 Pilots is not a vibe lol
Go to joint. Burgers are amazing. Salads are amazing. Soft shell crab sandwich was amazing (when in season). Belgian brews are delicious and reasonably priced. Service has been the best in town and atmosphere is a mix of blue to white collar crowd. Every walk of life with good conversations. Outstanding.
One of my favorite restaurants… my husband and I have been coming here at least once or twice a month (sometimes more…) for years now. Friendly staff, fast wait times and of course excellent food. The food is consistently absolutely incredible, we have never had a bad experience here. I am always recommending this spot to people!! For anyone needing gluten free items- they offer delicious gluten free buns, and their fries are made in a dedicated fryer so they are celiac safe! If you have any additional questions regarding cross contamination- the staff is always knowledgeable and willing to help/find out answers for you. Go to order: roasted Brussels sprouts to start, Mac daddy burger on a gluten free bun, fries ! Thank you Biercafe ❤️
Dutchess Biercafe (or DBC to those in the know) is a great local place for good food and tasty beers. I have the DBC menu bookmarked because I check the specials daily because they are always so delicious. If you ever see the General Tso Turkey Meatballs, run, don't walk, and grab yourself a plate. My current obsession is the Chicken and Waffle sandwich because it's so simple, yet the perfect balance of flavors. My other favorites are the Beet Salad, the Classis Moules, and Loaded Everything Pretzel Ring. I preferred the bigger everything pretzel from a few years back, but the rings are just as tasty. For libations, my husband LOVES the Drouin Poire (pear cider) and I always get the Dubuisson Scaldis Peche Mel (peach beer)! Cheers!
Great beer, great food, great service, cozy atmosphere. Just discovered today and will definitely be back, a lot
Came here with 4 friends for dinner and drinks on Saturday. Did not have to wait at all. I have never been much of a beer person, as I like more fruity stuff. I tried the Peche Mel peach beer on tap, and let me tell you it was the best beer I have tried so far. I drank it so quick. It goes down like fruity butter and doesn’t have any bitter or weird aftertaste. The frites with malt mayo never disappoint. I could live off of it. They also had a special which was general tso chicken tenders over rice and marinated cucumber. I didn’t plan on ordering anything like that here but it was surprisingly great! I am excited to come back now that i found a beer i like there! service was attentive and exceptional. definitely recommend
Went with a party of 8 on a Saturday & they accommodated us in 30 mins. We ate inside. Good burgers 😋 & excellent beer & loaded pretzel 🥨...my only qualm is there are no lantern heaters outside. Would be a game changer & keep people outside instead of trying to keep warm in the small hallway inside while waiting on tables. Thanks for the prompt service .
Great service, fantastic mussels - on Sundays they are on special for 10$! The waffles were also delicious.
This place is SO good…And I emphasize GOOD. The P.I.G burger is amazing. The black truffle fries are addicting. We went there last night to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and the staff was so accommodating. The waitress (Nicole) was excellent. She deserves a shout out. She was great with the the kids and attentive to everyone we were with.
Tried this place for the first time with my partner. Was recommended by a friend of ours. The food was very good, the mayo they make is probably the best I've tasted. The regular size fries are definitely a 2 person size.
Yum. Family friendly, great selection, delicious food, terrific beer, friendly and fast service, convenient location, comfortable atmosphere with fun music.
Food is some of the best we ever had. Came on Labor Day weekend Sunday after apple picking at Fishkill Orchard. Lives up to the expectations of the highest reviewed Fishkill place on Google and Yelp. The best pretzel we’ve ever had- soft and melts in your mouth. The brunch burger, angry burger, pierogi also yummy. Also we called and they accommodated our party of 7 (includes toddler and they helped set up booster seat for us!!!) If you can only go to one place during your visit to Fishkill- this is the place to go!!!
I had their pork chop special. It was the most tender thick pork chop I have had. The spaetzle was tender as well. I asked them to pick a beer which was a Belgium IPA. The food was fabulous. The Belgium draft beer selection is quite large.
A great culinary surprise restaurant. Unique take on a burger with big slab bacon and chipolte sauce. Excellent German Potato salad, multiple fun/home made sides (cheese curds, popcorn chicken and delectible French Onion soup.) Ending amazingly with French Press coffee and delicious home made Dark Chocolate and Raspberry Bread Pudding. (These were freshly made, home made entrees- not something previously frozen and cooked.) Warm and friendly wait staff, immediate lunch service. So glad that we found this on Google Maps.
stopped by here for lunch after visiting from queens and going apple picking. nice outside seating and staff attentive and efficient. the fried chicken sandwich was delicious, crispy and tender and a tasty bun. the everything pretzel was a special for the day. loaded up with everything seeds and was fresh and hot! would definitely recommend if in the area.
Great food and service. Got the mussels as an app, half greek salad, and fried chicken alla vodka. Our server Amanda was great, very attentive!
Where do I begin?? From when we walked in the staff was exceptional! We started out with the fried cheese curds and pork nacho’s, everything was amazing! Then we had the Bahn mi sandwich and the chicken and waffle sandwich, both great! Best chicken and waffle sandwich I have had! Can’t wait to check out their new establishment Beast next time we pass through.
This place is one of my favorites. The food is top notch, the beer selection is great, and really fun vibes. I've gone a lot. Solid burgers, mussels, Jagerschnitzel, french onion soup, brussel sprouts, fries, and onion rings. I love their tap rotation too. Highly recommend checking them out.
The food is solid, nothing super special. But the selection of Belgian beers (trappist and otherwise) is top notch. Great selection while dining in, and even some for carry out.
Had an amazing meal at The Dutchess Biercafe! Morgan was a fantastic waitress—super friendly and attentive. I had the Hot Nashville Chicken Sandwich, and it was crispy, light, and full of flavor. The fries were also the best I’ve ever had—perfectly crispy and tender. Highly recommend this place for great food and excellent service!
We stopped in Saturday close to noon and drank a few beers with some great food. We tried the waffles, burger special, spanish mussels, cubano sandwich. Plus, two of the beers. Everything was great and we loved the food and drinks. The burger was huge, the mussels was just spicy enough. Everything was well made from good ingredients. Similiar to belgium, everytime I go I find the food well made from very fresh and good supplies. We just visited again on a Saturday near noon. Easy to get a table outside and inside. Great French onion burger and spicy clams. Great beers. We love the place. We tried their sour cherry beer, that was great and very different different. The belgian style fruit beer is very different than most american styles. It was very sour just like the cherries used to make it. They did not sweeten it up.
An excellent selection of dishes with European flair. I had and open lamb burger that was delicious. My companions shared Caesar salad with Schnitzel, onion rings (huge) and a delicious lentil soup. Nice atmosphere and lovely servers, attentive and timely.
Please go here if you love food. I’ve lived in the area for six years and this has always been my favorite place to eat. People say the beer is great but I don’t like beer. I’m here for the food and I’m never disappointed. Everything I’ve tried on their menu is good, especially any of their burgers. Here are a few of my other favorites: Crispy brussels and endive salad Hot Nashville - best fried chicken sandwich I’ve had on the east coast Fried chicken Caesar sandwich Spanish Moules Pomme frites with black truffle I’ve never had room for dessert.
In Fishkill on a Monday afternoon and stumbled across The Dutchess Biercafe on Main Street in downtown. We sat at the bar and had the pleasure of being assisted by Rios. She was so knowledgeable that we took every suggestion she gave us, from the pre-dinner beer selection, to the pairing of beers including her favorite, the IPA with our burgers. She did not let us down! I had the Brunch Burger, medium, while the wifey had the Dutchess Burger medium/well done. We also had the Poutine which was probably the best Poutine south of the CN-US border (we visit Montreal & Quebec City quite frequently so we know a good Poutine when we come across one). Food was cooked perfectly as requested and it was absolutely delicious but Rios really stole the show, she was superb from her food tips to the suggested beer selections/pairing, the wifey is not a beer person at all but tonight in over 11 years that I’ve known her, she drank an entire beer (so proud) and was ready for another one, thanks to Rios’ suggestion!! All in all, I would totally recommend this place over and over & over again! And, if you do happen to sit at the bar, do yourself a favor and ask for Rios, if you’re lucky enough she will be on shift. Not often I get to write reviews like this but our experience tonight was beyond spectacular. 10 out of 5 ⭐️
Better than great! Family-owned restaurant owners very nice exceptional service and exceptional food we loved it we recommend it to anyone! We have the fried chickpeas, very unique, we had the beet salad with goat cheese, multiple colored beats the best we've had, we also had the muscles an excellent choice fresh brussel sprouts too. 😎😎😎. Let's not forget the outstanding beer choice on tap!
I’ve had this place on my list for a while and finally had a chance to stop by. In short, I was blown away. The food was excellent and everything was fresh and tasty. The red curry mussels were bursting with flavor, as were the brussel sprouts and cheese curds. The best of the wurst platter was spectacular. The wursts were all great and the German potato salad tied it all together. Definitely recommend stopping here and I know I’ll be back!
Wow. Where to begin. Everything was amazing. I ordered a hot chicken sandwich with hot Mac n cheese and this did not disappoint. Fair warning: it does send you to the bathroom. And honestly, it's still worth it. They even provide the SOFTEST toilet paper known to man. I swear it's ocho-plied. The entire experience was a 10/10.
I am not kidding, this was the best lunch I had in the last couple months! The bratwurst were amazing on the Bratoberfest sandwich. The service was absolutely phenomenal. (Me personally, I like a chatty service.) and the atmosphere was very pleasant and fun at the exact same time! if you adore German food like I do, please go to this restaurant it’s by far the best in the state! (written by my nine-year-old but fully endorsed by me)
I love Dutchess Biercafe!! Their food is absolutely delicious and I always leave feeling satisfied. The staff are always very friendly and attentive. I usually sit outside for spring - fall seasons because I feel the inside is a bit too crowded and I'm not huge on crowds. Everything on their menu is delicious!
The staff, the food, the beer all honestly 10/10. The reuben grilled cheese special was out of this world. I mean possibly one of the best things I've eaten in years. Brussels sprouts were good and plentiful, and the red potato salad had a nice twist being made with deli mustard. Had a Belgian pils which obviously is going to be superb, and the service was top notch. One small note, it's just entirely too bright in there, dim the lights, make it cozy!
Went yesterday for lunch after hearing great things, and it did not disappoint! The food was amazing — we had the brussels sprouts, burger, and mussels, and everything was cooked perfectly. Our server, Kaylee, was fantastic: attentive, friendly, and full of great recommendations. Best food and service we’ve had in a long time. This might just be our new Sunday spot!
We got takeout from Dutchess Biercafe last night and everything was delicious. The everything pretzel appetizerwas delicious and the dipping sauces that it comes with were very tasty. The pierogi were cooked well and not overly dry; they came with a healthy serving of sauerkraut and I got a bratwurst on the side. The food was especially good considering it wasn't as fresh as it would have been if we had eaten in.
Traditional "Pub" feeling. Regular customers and friendly welcoming staff. Excellent service. Amazing tap selection. (As a customer of a great many regionally themed taverns I was able to try beers I had never seen on tap!). The menu was nicely varied and had a few unique items. One of those being Bacon Apple Lentil soup. Freaking awesome. Smallish bar area. Two dining areas and a huge patio when the weather cooperates. Well worth a visit!
We’ve been going to DBC for 7 years or so - starting when it was just a little bar and a few tables. After countless times eating here, I thought I’d give it a proper review. To put it simply we’ve never gotten a bad meal here, and the smiles and great beer keep bringing us back time after time - birthdays, holidays and lazy Saturday afternoons. We started coming here before my son was even a thought, and he’s now 6 and absolutely loves this place. In terms of beer, they have the best Belgian selection outside of NYC hands down. It’s a great family owned Hudson Valley business, who treats their staff and customers with respect. Definitely check this place out.
Very awesome spot up in Fishkill. Food and beer were all excellent. Ordered mussels which were outstanding, and other members of our group had burgers, salads and French onion soup. All done extremely well! Oh! And the Brussel Sprouts! Everything was awesome! Reminded me of the Hopleaf in Chicago! Check it out, you won’t be disappointed.
I heard great things about the Biercafe and finally got to try it during the pandemic. The food did not disappoint. I ordered the chicken and waffles with a side order of onion rings for the table. The entree was fantastic. I usually fear the meat in fried chicken being dry. It was not and the skin was crisp. The waffles were amazing. It was a thicker dough [almost like a soft shortbread] and chewy. The combination was a great chicken and waffles dish. Next, the onion rings were phenomenal: very crisp and crunchy breading. I also ordered a lemonade, which was very good. As it was during the pandemic, all seating was outside. However, there was plenty of seating and the wait process was efficient. When you are called, you are given a number that aligns to a seat number. After you sit, you scan the QR code on the table for a digital menu, go order at the window, and the food is brought out to you. The Biercafe has awesome food and I will definitely be back.
Great little restaurant in downtown Fishkill. Wide and rotating selection of beer and great food. Don't miss this spot. Pictured is the unique a d delicious fried chick peas. They are nicely spicy and make for a great little sherable appetizer. My go to favorite is the tempeh banh mi and everyone seems to really enjoy the chicken and waffles.
Great place, lots of choices for beer and food. Shout out to Amanda our waitress although all staff works well together. Andry burger for me, wifie had pieroggis. Both tasty. A table over had cheese curds, wifie spied, we ordered and they were great! Great portions, tasty food. Outdoor, Simply delightful meal. We've seen this place many times and looking for different place we that we could bring the dog(new addition).
GOOD MEAT IS HARD TO BEAT! If you ever eaten here than you know what i am going to say is relatable. If the inside of the restaurant was bigger than they would have won the triple crown. Great food, great service, and good location. Again my only disappointment is how small it is inside. The tables are so close is that you are playing vocal volleyball with the other people. Having said that, the wait staff are super friendly and always willing to strike up a conversation. Summertime dining is where they shine. When you go,and the weather is nice always request outside. The tables are large and can accommodate big parties. My advice is to go there hungry and sample all the great food. Sorry vegetarians, there meat is hard to beat!
Really great selection of Belgian beers specifically from Allagash. The food was really good and very reasonably priced for the portions. We had the Poutine, the mussels and the local burger which all was fresh. Service was solid and welcoming. The place itself is very cozy, clean, there is a small bar that sits about 4 with a few taps and the wall murals give it a Euro vibe. Very good option if you are in Beacon or Cold Spring.
Great food and great beer! I highly recommend the pretzels as an appetizer! The angry burger is not as angry as the name would lead you to believe, but it has lots of flavors and tastes great! We got the fries (pommes frites) with truffle seasoning, and it was excellent. It comes with ketchup and mayonnaise but I urge you to try them plain as well. Their selection of Belgian beers is also pretty good. There's no indoor dining, the tables are outside. It would be good to have some heat lamps as it's getting chilly in the evenings.
Belgian themed restaurant and bar. Has a patio that wraps around the side and the back of the bar, so plenty of places to people watch or sit quietly in the back. Has the standard list of Belgian bottles, plus a few 3F and Cantillon. The taps list is about 20 taps(?) of moderate interest. But you can fill a growler to go which is great if you want a growler of the yummy St.Bernardus 12..for example. I ate the German wurst sausages three ways. It was a massive portion.
First time dining here. My husband ordered a flight of craft beers. We found them Delicious! And we shared tonight's special -a huge plate of open faced on thick toast roasted turkey ,whipped potatoes and gravy topped with muenster cheese and thick sliced bacon. My husband absolutely loved it. He's a real meat and potatoes kind of guy. I found it a little bland being it was so much potatoes and on top of thick toast turned a little too mushy for me. I enjoyed the turkey and gravy with cheese part the most. See photo. Was a very large portion and no extra charge to share. Server Morgan was excellent.
I had a simple burger and potato salad. Our burgers were good, but were not very warm when they arrived. The potato salad was not very interesting. The first beer I ordered was not available. The beer I did have was outstanding. Generally the beer selection is very large with many outstanding Belgian ales and other choices. Consequently, the beer is generally rather expensive.
This is a nice, Belgian-Beer-Themed place in Fishkill. Big selection of beer and also good food options. I had a poutine and while gravy and curds were great, I had wished for Belgian-Style fries. Belgium is the world capital for french fries - so you have big boots to fill selling fries in a Belgian-Themed venue.
I tend to really like this place. I’ve been coming here since they were just a little shack. The last few times I was here I’ve been underwhelmed. Roasted Brussels sprouts are soggy served in a bowl with a hefty layer of maybe butter, oil, and water that it expels from being cooked too fast and in a crowded pan. I think my problem with this is that the whole reason people order roasted Brussels sprouts is for that signature charred leaf and caramelized flesh. It’s just disappointing. This is just a boiled mess. Greek salad is good. Chicken is overcooked. Kids meals are always good.
Our apps were good, but entrees left much to be desired. The cheese curds (my personal fav) were a perfect combination of crunchy and cheesy, and the everything pretzels paired well with their accompanying dips. The chicken was OK, but the waffles were more dense and crumbly than I expected (like a biscuit). Paired with the extremely thick and sticky maple bacon jam, it was impossible to keep it from sticking to the plate and crumbling apart. Eating this as a sandwich as intended would not have worked. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was loaded with slaw and chipotle mayo, so it was messy, but tasted fine. Fair warning though, it typically comes with a spicy glaze, which we luckily asked for on the side. It was insanely hot! I couldn’t imagine making it through more than a few bites had it been on the sandwich, and we usually like hot & spicy! We added on their mac & cheese for an up charge, and it wasn’t worth it - it lacked in flavor and cheesiness, and the “Cheeto topping” didn’t add anything. Perhaps a good spot for beers and some plates to share, but wasn’t our cup of tea.
My daughter recommended this restaurant, so we were really looking forward to trying it out as a family. Unfortunately, the experience left us disappointed. Our waitress sat us down and brought us water, but after that, we waited over 20 minutes without anyone taking our drink or food orders—even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. We gave it more time, but she continued serving other tables and completely ignored ours. Every time she was at the bar, she looked right at us—so it’s not like she forgot we were there. Other guests even noticed how we were being treated and mentioned they were about to say something on our behalf—that’s how obvious it was. Eventually, we decided to leave. When we approached the waitress to share how we felt, she didn’t even recognize us or know where we had been sitting, and asked us to point it out. There was no apology or sense of accountability. We were excited to try the specials, but the service—or lack of it—ruined the experience. Definitely not what we expected.
The food is good. However the last time I ordered I asked if I can substitute the German potato salad for a simple garden salad. The person on the phone said that would be fine but it wasn't until afterwards when I got home and seen the receipt that I was charged for the salad also. So now I didn't get the German potato salad and paid extra for a salad. Downgrading from 4 star to 1 star. Lack of feedback from staff is the reason. I used to order from here constantly. Once a week. I haven't been back since. Tired of being nickeled and dimed everywhere. If you wanted to charge me the difference in the price of sides then fine, but instead they chose to charge me full price. Won't be back.
What an embarrassment of a restaurant. The waitress ignored our table until I decided to go to the bar to try to get a drink. Rudely she let me know that she was her waitress and if you want to order something she would be the one to help. Guess what? I don't care. Good poutine. Great beer. Pretzels were mediocre at best but the pub cheese was good. The vibe here was that of a roadside bar. Weird 90s music was blaring so loud and we couldn't even have a conversation. (maybe we don't want to listen to Limp Bizkit while at a German restaurant) this place doesn't have a German/Belgium restaurant feel at all. As we were finishing up our dinner the server told us we had to leave and then aggressively started to take our plates. A group of 10 wanted to have our table she said. This server was incredibly incompetent and incredibly rude. The restaurant also made us tip an automatic 20% to her so I figured the server really didn't care about her manners and the customer since she would get a 20% tip. I would have taken pleasure in not tipping at all. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone, there are some man to be better options. Perhaps get rid of servers like this and just let people order from the bar and seat themselves. I hate paying a tip to someone who makes the experience bad. Here is the sad part: my brother recommended this place to us and he was excited to bring us here - afterwards he felt embarrassed that he even took us here. What a horrible experience.
