Ho prenotato con the fork quindi sia l'attesa per aspettare un tavolo che il prezzo pagato devono essere contestualizzati, ciò detto i piatti erano buonissimi, ho preso le polentine fritte, Fiorentina di Scottona con contorno di patate al forno e dolce della casa. L'unica pecca è che la Fiorentina non aveva un bel strato di grasso, ma cottura impeccabile. Da segnalare che c'erano dei fuori menù del cuoco molto invitanti. Ambiente tranquillo hanno due sale su due piani di circa 20/25 posti ciascuna, quindi non c'è molta confusione. Prezzo, come detto influenzato dall'aver prenotato con the fork, molto conveniente, ci tornerei

Dopo 3 orette di relax e girovagando per le vie del centro capitiamo nella via parallela a piazza Signoria in questa Trattoria storica e che dire che bella cena!!! Neanche a dirlo piatti tipici, fatti e presentati a modo (bis di pappardelle al cinghiale😍), ottima scelta di vini, anche importanti, prezzi ottimi, senza vino avremmo speso sui 45€ a testa per 2 antipasti e 3 piatti e acqua (La nostra bottiglia 48€, li stra vale tutti, corposo, profumato,ottimo, cambio di bicchieri per far respirare il vino✔️) Grazie a voi e a presto

Siamo stati li il sabato scorso oer un pranzo. Abbiamo mangiato benissimo ed il servizio era veloce. Abbiamo oreso le pappardelle al ragu di cinghiale, buonissime e il cinghiale era molto tenero e ben spezzato. Poi il secondo, la salsiccia con le patate, il vino rosso Chianti. Era tutto buono, sicuramente ci torneremo quando andiamo di nuovo a Firenze. Ottima anche la posizione, vicinissimo al Duomo e Palazzo Vecchio.

What a great place to stumble upon! My husband and I were seated right away on a Saturday evening around 9pm, and within minutes the restaurant filled up quickly. It seemed there were only two servers working (also acting as the hostesses), but they managed the crowd impressively. We didn’t start with an appetizer, but judging by the mouthwatering cheese and meat boards we saw at other tables, we should have. For dinner, we ordered the sausage with roasted potatoes and the lasagna. The potatoes were roasted to perfection and then seared, creating the perfect crispy exterior with a soft, pillowy inside. The sausage was packed with so much flavor, I’m literally salivating while writing this review. The lasagna was equally outstanding, layer upon layer of fresh pasta, rich sauce, and homemade goodness. If I had to note one drawback, it would be that the restaurant was quite warm inside. Other than that, everything was spot on. If we had another night in Florence, we would absolutely go back. Highly recommend!

We ate at lunch in a Saturday. The food was excellent, we ordered crostini and the liver was excellent. As secondo, we ordered chicken which had an excellent taste and tagliata dí manzo con rozmarini which was awesome and so soft that I think we could cut with the fork😊. The atmosfere is very quiet, with soft music in background, not very loud, exactly to feel good. We will come back any time.

Amazing food! We ordered the bistecca, and it was the highlight of our trip to Florence. Antonela was such a sweet person. Everything was great – the pasta, the wine, the atmosphere… a must go!

After a week, probably the best Bistecca alla Fiorentina (Scottona) we had: 1.5kg and four fingers thick, was fantastic, rich and very tender. Wine was surprisingly delicious too. Restaurant was a bit quiet though.

I just loved our meal here! Small menu, delicious tasting, and cooked to perfection. The beef fillet with green peppercorn sauce was mouthwateringly delicious. Quiet and lovely relaxed slow atmosphere. Warm and friendly. Great after a day of rain and cloudy skies.

Food was excellent. Service was excellent. I wish we got our server’s name - she was an older lady and was absolutely wonderful. She barely spoke English, but we communicated just fine. She explained the Tuscan soup and other dishes well. They brought the raw steak out to show us before cooking it. It was cooked just right and tasted delicious. The atmosphere was quiet and welcoming. This was one trattoria where we got that family-run vibe. We normally don’t repeat restaurants while traveling, but this would be an exception. Highly recommend.

It was simply great! One of the best steak I have ever eaten. Great selection of wines (not discounted of course), great and kind service. Happy to visit you again and highly recommended!

Looked inviting from the street. Despite the fact that we had no reservations on a Saturday night, they accommodated us. Staff was amazingly attentive. Maybe some of the best food I’ve had in Florence. Waitress Christina recommended ricotta based desert with a reduced Chianti sauce- amazing! If you visit you need to try it.

The food is amazing, the service is even better. The staff here are earnest, warm and very friendly. Portions are justified and the ambience is simply and uniquely Florence. I ordered the Florentine Veal, Pasta Vongole (that day’s special) and the Caprese Salad. Would definitely come here again when I visit Florence! Prenotato tramite The Fork di domenica alle 14:30 e quando siamo arrivati ci hanno fatto attendere giusto un paio di minuti per organizzare il tavolo al piano di sopra. Abbiamo ordinato come antipasti un tagliere di formaggi ed erano tutti squisiti, come primo il mio fidanzato le pappardelle al cinghiale e gli sono piaciute tantissimo, io gli gnocchi alla sorrentina ma c’era qualcosa che mancava e non mi hanno fatto impazzire. Location e personale ok.

I visited Trattoria Il Gabriello in Florence for a casual dinner with friends. The atmosphere was pleasant and the central location definitely convenient, but overall, the experience was fairly average. The food was fine, but nothing stood out compared to other places in the area. The service was polite, but not particularly memorable. I found the portions a bit small for the price, which seemed slightly high for what was offered. In short, it was an okay dinner, but not enough to make me eager to return anytime soon.

Premessa: abitiamo a Milano, e siamo ben abituati a prezzi non propriamente bassi. Questa sera abbiamo cenato in questo posto, carino ma niente di speciale. Eravamo in due: una Fiorentina da 1Kg e mezzo con 2 contorni di spinaci saltati, due calici di vino (€14 l’uno) ed una bottiglia d’acqua per un totale, a nostro avviso sproporzionato, di €171. Non tornerei e onestamente non lo consiglierei, sono ben felice di pagare queste cifre se ne vale la pena, ma in questo caso no.

Siamo stati ieri sera in questo ristorante per festeggiare un compleanno. il cibo è normalissimo, nulla da dire. Ma purtroppo tutto il resto – e soprattutto l’atteggiamento di quella che crediamo fosse la proprietaria – ha completamente rovinato l’esperienza. All’ingresso nessun sorriso. Ok, può capitare. Ma da lì in poi è stato un crescendo di maleducazione gratuita. Eravamo quasi pronti ad ordinare, ma il festeggiato stava aprendo i regali. Visto che il locale NON era pieno, abbiamo chiesto alla signora se potesse tornare dopo un minuto… è andata via scocciata. Quando poi torna, le diciamo chiaramente l’ordine: * 3 taglieri * 3 coccoli con crudo e stracchino, * 3 fiorentine da 1,5 kg. E qui insiste, ripete più volte che “non basta”, propone piatti (tipo una polenta in Toscana… anche no), e soprattutto non stava accettando il fatto che noi volessimo 3 fiorentine da 1,5kg! tutti noi 9 al tavolo a dirle che bastava e lei ancora “NO”…come se dovesse decidere lei cosa dobbiamo mangiare.
Alla terza volta che le ripetiamo che ci sarebbe bastato, siamo costretti a dirle: “Va bene, faccia come vuole lei”.Alla fine ci “impone” 3 fiorentine da 1,8 kg. Assurdo. Durante la cena ogni frase era un tono di rimprovero: * “Togliete queste cose dal tavolo” quando c’era spazio, * dopo aver mangiato i FEGATINI come antipasto e aver dato segnale di voler cambiare ANCHE la forchetta ci è stato detto “cambiamo solo i coltelli”! * Quando abbiamo avanzato della carne (perché eravamo pieni!), si è pure offesa:
“Ma come, dividetevela, su!” Alla fine ci chiede il dolce – sempre con quell’aria di sufficienza – e prova a metterci “due cantucci da dividere” quasi per forza. ma eravamo PIENI. Avevamo prenotato con TheFork al 50%.
Il conto finale non tornava: le 3 fiorentine segnate a 395€ totali… che NON corrispondono ai prezzi del menù! palesemente le cifre sono state rimaneggiate al volo per “far tornare i conti”. Alla fine:“Vabbè, vi tolgo 20€… visto che è il compleanno.” Una scena surreale. L’altro cameriere, l’unico gentile e professionale. A lui va un ringraziamento sincero. Il cibo non basta quando l’atteggiamento della proprietaria è arrogante, superficiale e irrispettoso. Ci siamo sentiti trattati male dall’inizio alla fine, forse perché siamo giovani?Non lo so. Ma so una cosa: In quel modo non si lavora. Mai.

Avoid this place at all costs. We arrived 15 minutes before our reservation and were told by the hostess that the restaurant was “full” and we couldn’t come in. When we returned exactly at the reserved time, the place was completely empty. That already felt dishonest. The food itself is exceptional, though the pasta portions are surprisingly small. But sadly, everything else was ruined by the service. The two waitresses were incredibly unpleasant—never smiled, never checked on us, and carried themselves with a rude and dismissive attitude the entire time. They never once asked if we needed anything, and their overall behavior was unwelcoming and unfriendly. Ironically, the chef himself had to come out several times to bring dishes, explain the menu, and interact with us. He was the only bright spot of the evening: warm, approachable, and genuinely passionate about the food. Food and chef: 10/10. Service and waitresses: 0/10. If you care about being treated with even basic respect as a customer, this is not the place to go.

What a disappointment! We visited this restaurant 5 years ago and had an amazing experience. Back then, the staff were professional and honest—a waiter even advised us not to over-order, warning us that the portions were big. That’s exactly why we decided to come back after 5 years and bring our friends along, proudly recommending it. Big mistake. This time, the experience was a disaster. We ordered 1.3 kg of meat for 4 people, but the lady insisted on bringing us 3 kg or 2.1 kg. We tried to refuse—multiple times—but she kept pushing. After a lot of back-and-forth, she returned with 1.7 kg, still too much, and again kept insisting. Finally, she brought us 1.35 kg of meat, but almost half of it was bone, with no filet at all—just fat and little meat. When we questioned this, she told us: “We don’t cut the meat smaller than that.” Funny, because 5 years ago, we were three people, and somehow it wasn’t a problem then. Also, what do you serve to couples or solo diners? A 2 kg bone each? The wine experience was just as bad. I expected to taste the wine, like in literally every other restaurant, but she said: “If we open it, you have to drink it. Trust me, it’s delicious.” So basically, no option to check the wine before committing to a full bottle. Overall, this was a terrible experience. Instead of enjoying dinner with our friends, we spent most of the evening arguing with the staff just to stop them from forcing oversized portions on us. At the end, we were left with a massive bone and barely enough meat for four people. NOT RECOMMENDED. This place has changed for the worse. Don’t waste your time or money. *"Fiorentina is a T-bone steak made of tenderloin and striploin. They brought us 1.350 kg of meat that didn’t have the tenderloin."*
