In love with how fast we get seated, and we always have a large party of 12+. Food is great and portions are on the bigger side, and cashier is always bringing up the best deals!
I have an electric bike and couldn’t find where to park it so I called in my side order in happen to get NICOLE on the line and she was so accommodating to me, brought me the order to the door, still ran back to get my change and brought it back immediately. She needs a raise! Thanks beautiful Nicole!
Okay. I thought this place was for old fogies but but I liked it ha! They close at 9:00 now. They used to close at 6:00 so that's a good thing right? Okay good so anyways they have really good hamburgers there. My kids all love the cheeseburger cheeseburger cheeseburgers. It's kind of like a cafeteria style. Let me explain. You look at the menu. Decide what you want to eat. Tell the girl in the front. The dinners that we got came with a side dish two side dishes so you get the cheeseburger. You can have mashed potatoes or some other stuff. Potatoes or french fries or vegetables and a salad or a soup. That's the dinner that's about $14.99 which is not bad at all. And if you don't want the soup and the salad, you can have the lunches served all day for $11.99 something like that go to the little line with your tray. They serve you of your soup or your salad depending on which one you want. They had clam chowder that day and minestrone soup but we all had the salad. And you passed to the desserts. You can grab one of those. And of course your drinks because your meal comes with the drink which is great. And you can refill as many times as you want because you get up and do it yourself. Or you can have the guy who's the attendant who's there? And I mean you know if you want to leave a tip you ask him to do things for you and he'll do it for you duh sorry okay. Sorry I don't have any pictures but the burgers were humongous double patties and and they had the sauce on the side which you do want use because it's fantastico and there you are. We spent a good 2 hours there. Chatting and eating slow and just enjoying the evening. It's a good place to eat its it's really fun. Everybody is very nice. Service is great. The food is good and the bathrooms are clean. There is plenty of places for you to sit. It's pretty nice place to have a party. If you want to have a party. They have like a lounge room in the back where you can rent out. I think I'm not sure you'll have to ask them cuz I'm just talking all right. Enjoy!

First time dining in. I tried the steak and shrimp combo with a baked potatoe and a toast. Price was less than $17 The entire plate was delicious. Definitely give it a try.

Memories from when I came here with my family as a kid. It's exactly the same as you remember. Update: Aug 2024. It's has changed significantly. We went on a Saturday and it was very empty. The old signs were replaced by tvs. Not all of the menu was displayed. The prices had increased and was standard pricing for the items and their appeal had previously been affordability. The ingredients and flavors seemed to be the same but my chicken was filleted to be very thin so I felt like I was getting less (that up the portion has gotten smaller. Photo for reference. I might choose to see the prices at Sizzler before I fully gauge the value. Sometimes they have buy 1 get 1 deals on Facebook.
This place is so classic. I’ve been coming here since I’ve been a kid and the same manager still runs the place. That’s pretty awesome. The food is consistently good and when I visit my mom, we always come here to eat. The clam chowder is good And I usually get the steak dinner. This restaurant is the pillar of Fontana. it is a classic landmark. I hope it stays open forever.
If you grew up in the IE you pretty much know about this place. With only two locations, one in San Bernardino and this one, this was the place to go to grab good food at a budget price growing up. Prices are still reasonable with most lunches costing between 7-11 bucks and they include a side salad or soup and a drink. Staff is friendly and food is always good.
This place is amazing. The food was great and the prices were not bad. It is cafeteria style which is super cool. I loved this chicken kabob, its was super juicy and flavorful. They have many sauces for food which I loved. My family members got the meatloaf, salad, toast, mashed potatoes, and drink lunch special, the steak as well done(forgot which kind), baked potatoe, salad, drink, and toast lunch special, and a spaghetti kid dinner with an extra salad. I ordered the kabob dinner with a well done steak kabob, a chicken kabob, shrimp kabob, fried rice, and toast. My family member who had ordered the steak dinner so much, they even ordered one to go for their lunch the next day. Staff was super helpful and friendly. I would eat here again.
Although Sundowner's Family Restaurant was Not what I was expecting, it was a Pleasure to enjoy a nice evening meal here with Great Friends!! You will NOT find a better deal on a meal than at Sundowner's. Just Check out the pics...
I've been going to this place ever since I was a kid, and I gotta say, it never really disappointed. The clam chowder is pretty much the best, as the well as the BBQ ribs. Staff is helpful too. Only thing is that they don't have free refills on anything except for the coffee and the iced tea. Other than, absolutely splendid, family oriented, traditional American food.

The chicken is packed with flavor, tender (not dry at all!) and the steak is juicy & melts in your mouth. 🍞 The toast? Absolutely delicious. I swapped the mashed potatoes for rice and it was a great choice. 🥪🍟 The chicken sandwich with steak fries was also really good! If you’re looking for a spot with consistently tasty food and big portions, this is it. Highly recommend! 💯👏
Enjoyed my shrimp lunch. Nothing special about anything. Staff was nice and polite. They are well organized and seems to get a lot of traffic. Will be returning. Great specials. Next time I'm in Fontana I will stop by. Worth the visit.
Ribeye Steak Lunch, with salad, baked potato, Texas toast, and a drink, great deal for $20. It was a thin steak, which was perfect for me, I had to take half of my meal home. They also have a nice little case of a variety of pie and cake slices for about $3, which is also a great deal. Customer service was excellent
Sundowners. This place is like going back in time to the 50s 60s. You order your meal you slide your Trey and collect the rest of the food that you want. Prices are very reasonable. The place was clean. Only thing I didn't quite like was no free refill. I think I'll come here a couple more times for lunch

Been coming here for 45 years used to be a family favorite. The place has gone way downhill. It’s really sad to see the clam Chowder is still off the chart. Been going here for years but went today n it has definitely changed n not in a good way. Even my eldest noticed the difference.
