10/10 experience!! Food was phenomenal and service was incredible! Jennifer, Margarita, and the whole weekend crew were exceptional! We had delicious nachos, quesabirras, chicken and shrimp Fajitas and tres leches. The fajitas and tres leches were our favorite! Highly recommend if you want a great authentic Mexican meal!!!
Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. The food was beyond a 10/10—super, super, super flavorful in every bite. I’ve been to so many Mexican restaurants, but this one easily stands at the top. The flavors were bold, fresh, and unforgettable. Jennifer was an amazing server, and head Chef Hugo truly made the experience special. He was incredibly talkative and interactive, took the time to explain the meaning behind the restaurant, showed us examples, and genuinely made an effort to connect with us. You can tell he truly cares about his customers and is passionate. From the second I walked in, I felt so welcomed, and the amazing vibes lasted all the way until the end. I don’t know if it was the food, the people, or both—but everything about this place was just perfect.
Epazote was such a vibe! I felt like I was so welcomed here and the food was immaculate! Our waitress was very helpful when choosing from the menu - had we bigger stomachs, we probably would've ordered everything on the menu (..we did with the dessert menu) We came on Margarita Monday and were pleasantly surprised by not only the size of the margs, but the quality! Great spot for drinks! The molé was very flavorful and unique, and had a great spicy kick to it that added just enough heat to make its presence known but not too spicy! The quesabirria, tamale, gorditas, every single bite was blatantly made with utmost passion. I suggested this restaurant to several friends and family in the area after rolling out of here after all the food we ate. As I mentioned, had we had bigger stomachs, we would have probably tried everything on the menu. A fantastic gem in Ft Lauderdale. It's very clear the staff love what they do, and I will definitely be coming back
We had a fantastic dining experience here! The duck mole was the highlight, perfectly tender and incredibly flavorful. We also tried the quesabirria tacos, which were delicious and packed with savory, cheesy goodness. The café de olla was warm, fragrant, and the perfect touch of sweetness and spice. The owner even came by our table to chat, which made the experience feel personal and welcoming. Every member of the staff was friendly, attentive, and truly impeccable in their service. Overall, an outstanding meal and atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!
One the best Mexican food in this area. Food was delicious and service was great. We had the whole fried snapper and pablno sauce covered Mahi mahi. Chef told us it was happy accident. One day his wife wanted fish but he had pablno sauce for something else that he was planning to cook. He used thatwith the mahi mahi and become an instant hit. We enjoyed all the food over there and may go back for Christmas day brunch. Highly recommend this place.
Food was delicious! Everything tasted so good and authentic! The quesabirria was bussin as were the tacos! And the aguas frescas were also really refreshing. The desserts were really good too. Not to mention the staff was really nice and kind. Even the chef came out to say hi
Well well well … one of the most authentic Mexican restaurants I have eaten so far! … it’s not Americanized so you get the real flavor from Mexico!!! Hugo and Simone are the owners …. You can feel the professional chef experience and the family touch they bring to this business. The restaurant was packed on a Tuesday evening so be prepared for a little wait! But it’s worth it! Well done you guys…. ¡Muchas gracias por la experiencia gastronómica que traes a esta zona! ¡Sigue con tu espíritu! Bien hecho 👍
Real Mexican food! The chips and salsa are authentic, like being in Mexico. The enchiladas were delicious. Everything exceeded my expectations. Great service too.
What a good find! Jennifer served me and was extremely great service. The food was delicious and the owner took the time to come and introduce himeself. It’s rare to find a spot with good Mexican on the east coast like when I lived in California this was the spot!
Came here for one last FL brunch before heading back to VA. This was probably one of my favorite Florida food experiences so far! Our server Karen was EXCELLENT. Very knowledgeable and friendly, not to mention she made sure we were well taken care of (despite being the only server on shift!). The restaurant itself was clean and well kept. The food and beverages were incredible. They had the best coffee I have ever had, and the tamales I ordered were amazing. Good food, good vibes, good people! I would love to come back on my next Florida trip.
Epazote is one an amazing Mexican restaurant. Everything is fresh and authentic. Hugo stopped by to introduce himself- that’s an honor. Karen made the best recommendations. Wow! We will be returning often- you’ve got to experience this fabulous tucked-away-in-just the right spot restaurant!
100/10, would definitely recommend. Everything about this place was wonderful. The staff was friendly and attentive. The margaritas were delicious and didn't taste watered down. The food was full of flavor, well seasoned, and super fresh. All around a great local spot.
We had an outstanding experience at Epazote. The food and service was amazing. Hugo and Simone made us feel like we were part of their family. Visit Epazote and you will definitely enjoy the experience and return time and again.
This is probably the best Mexican food around the area, tacos are good and have a lot of meat!! My only complaint is that now my wife prefers their chilaquiles over mine because they are so good! Spicy sauce is actually spicy. The chef and his wife are really sweet. This is real Mexican food.
Growing up in a Mexican household eating Mexican food daily, Epazote offers the best authentic Mexican food in Ft. Lauderdale. The atmosphere and customer service is exceptional! We had the opportunity to meet Hugo the owner, and learned that most of his ingredients are imported directly from Mexico creating authentic and delicious dishes. We enjoyed the chilaquiles, cochinita pibil and the quesabirria tacos. We finished with the churros. Everything was a chef’s kiss!
Absolutely amazing experience at Epazote. I have been in search of an authentic Mexican restaurant and I have finally found it. My girlfriend who is Mexican enjoyed it so much while we were there was saying we are coming back. The food was on point and the wait staff were so friendly and nice. We got the Horchata, chicken verde tamales, sopa de tortilla, Chilaquiles with steak and Esquites. Highly recommend!
Steak tacos were amazing, was a little skeptical at first because of the price but there was a lot of meat in each taco and if you like spicy sauce ask for their secret sauce it’s actually spicy and tastes amazing, also glad they had sidral mundet apple soda , always a must have with the tacos.
Authentic Mexican cuisine that are ALL a 10/10!! From the food to the amazing service, this place is outstanding. I’ll always be back and I definitely recommend this spot if you’re looking for some flavorful and authentic Mexican food!

This was my first time coming here. I was thoroughly impressed. Everything from the food to the staff. Tommy and Eric were our servers. They were very knowledgeable and friendly. The food was delicious, and the portions were incredible. I had steak tacos and mushroom tacos. The sangria was wine based and super tasty. I highly recommend this place.

Small place but friendly service and cozy family atmosphere. I would recommend making reservations just to be on the safe side. On Sunday, in addition to their regular menu, they have brunch. I ordered cafe de olla, which is black coffee with cinnamon. It came in a clay cup and it was delicious. Also ordered esquites and they only had one order left so we nabbed it!! Esquites are corn kernels mixed together with mayonnaise, butter, lime juice, a hint of salt, chili powder, and cotjia cheese. They were nice and had a kick to them that you got at the end of each bite. We also ordered the chilaquiles in salsa verde with two sunny side up eggs and the quesobirria tacos. Unfortunately, the chilaquiles came in a red sauce but they were delicious! The plate had a small portion of beans and home fries. The chilaquiles, where basically fried corn chips smothered in a flavorful red salsa, and topped with various ingredients like: red onions, two eggs (although u can get chicken or meat), and other ingredients. The quesobirrias and the beef broth were good and stuffed with melted cheese. The owner came out to talk to us and when we asked for dessert, he told us about an elote flan he had just made and that wasn’t on the menu. It was more of a cake consistency as opposed to a flan consistency and it was very tasty. We told the owner that it was a keeper!! We will definitely be coming back to try other items on the menu.
Jennifer and Jasmine were the most friendly, attentive and fast servers we've had in awhile! The food was AMAZING and the Owner came out to let us know if we needed anything to let him know! Next time we visit here we will DEFINITELY be back!! Thank you!! ❤️ (Everything is separate because my friend didn't like cilantro and the owner accommoded)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 Experience at Epazote! Epazote is hands down one of the best Mexican restaurant experiences I’ve had. From the moment we walked in, everything was a solid 10 out of 10 — food, service, atmosphere, everything. The food was absolutely incredible. We tried the birria tacos with consommé, al pastor tacos, enchiladas, and corn in a cup, and every single dish was packed with flavor and made perfectly. You can really tell the care and authenticity that goes into the food. The service made the experience even better. Our waitress Jennifer was amazing — super kind, attentive, and welcoming. On top of that, Head Chef Hugo personally took the time to talk with us, explain the story behind the restaurant, the atmosphere, and even the meaning behind the name Epazote. He was incredibly warm, passionate, and genuinely proud of what he’s created, which made the experience feel even more special. If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food, great vibes, and people who truly care about their guests, Epazote is the place. I can’t recommend it enough — we’ll definitely be coming back! SO Good! We ate at the restaurant on Tuesday. It was super busy but they were killing it with service. The Birria tacos and chicken enchiladas were fantastic. A few days later we had catering (the tacquiza menu off catering) and it was wonderful. Plenty of food (even a lot of leftovers). The chicken and steak were tender and the salsas were perfect. Be sure to add on the Aquas Frescas. It was a huge hit. The owners really made the catering process super smooth and easy and helped us every step of the way. I wish I lived around here but next year I’ll for sure be catering again, it was absolutely perfect.
The waitress was so kind! She took time to converse with us before and after our meal. We came in from out of town, and she was genuinely interested in our conversation. The food was pretty good. The churros were the perfect way to end our meal. I do recommend at least trying this small joint!
