Opinions de The Scandinavian Bakery & Coffee Fort Lauderdale
My grandfather was born in Norway, sadly he passed away yet never forgotten. Went here to get take out food for my mom’s birthday. Very good & they didn’t mess it up at ALL! She loved it! Highly recommended!
I mostly come here for the bakery 😋 Great cookies and breads. Raspberry Lemonade cookies are Great! Also the Lemon, Raspberry and Kringler Almond Bars! Photos are from their website and are accurate. 😋😋😋 I've always loved the spinach cheese bread and rolls. This time they had cranberry wild rice rolls! Counter service is great! With a sense of humor 🤣
Tasty and delicious place! A variety of items to choose from. When I'm feeling hungry I'll opt for one of the seasonal breakfast items. Otherwise I'll grab a pastry or two to share. Be sure to arrive early for the best selection of pastry items. The staff is also very friendly and the place is clean and a perfect spot to meet a friend. I will also mention that this is one of the best places to grab a cake for a celebration as well
Wow. What a change. We went this weekend because we were picking up a cake, and breakfast was delicious. The plating was beautiful and the food was tasty. They must have a new manager and cooks or something.
This was the perfect pit stop before our long drive into the woods. The food was made with all the Scandinavian flair and love and butter we'd hoped for! Bounus for a delicious box of bakery treats to take and share with family.
Service was quick and wonderful. Food tasted good and I would love to come back to try their sandwiches and soup!!
Walking in, this place has a nice vibe. They have a variety of food items you can purchase to take home. (soup, pastries, cakes, etc.) When I've been there in the mornings they have large portioned pastry samples to try. We usually grab a sample after we order our food. Looking at the menu I usually feel like the food costs more than I would want to spend on breakfast. ($8-$10) However, when the food comes out I quickly forget about the price. The plate sizes aren't huge but I've always really enjoyed what I've ordered. The fresh fruit crepe... oh my goodness that was happy experience. All in all I'm really happy Taste of Scandinavia is in our neighborhood for an easy and delicious morning breakfast.
How have I missed this gem?!? Breakfast was so good as was the coffee. Don’t leave without a treat from the bakery case or some of the delicious bread!

I love this place! If you like lefse, macaroons, pastries, cakes, or just want breakfast or lunch, this is the place to go. Try the Chocolate Crinkles Cookies! They're delicious!
One of my top favorite restaurants for food. However, they have mixed up my order a few times, and the quality of my food has varied on occasion. My favorite is the Sweet Scandinavian Lefse Breakfast. Make sure they hear the word "Sweet" or you'll get a completely different meal. My wife enjoys the Pulla French Toast. I also typically order a Mocha Latte or a Lingonberry Smoothie. The atmosphere is so-so. While there is some Scandinavian decor, it feels a bit like IKEA in that it's overly modern and plain. It's not very "hygge" or "koselig."
Always delicious, gotta get a Kringle. Excellent coffee and great breakfast and lunch shenanigans!
What a great experience the food was fantastic and the service was awesome. My friend asked them to customize a oder and they went out of their way to customize it. Wow what a truly awesome location to eat.
Ate here almost daily while I was working nearby for three months. The food was delightful and reasonably priced. Huge selection of breakfast and lunch options. Super friendly atmosphere. Really wish we had one in Denver.
This Taste of Scandinavia is kind of a really best kept secret! The Chefs make the BEST meals! The food is cooked to perfection! Awesome service, too!! (Not to mention the delicious sweet treats/baked goods for those with a sweet tooth.) PS. The food is hands down better at the Rice Street one!!!. Always seem to be disappointed at the North oaks food.
Strawberry torte was the reason I first visited about 20yrs ago and very happy I can still enjoy it today!
First time there and it was delicious! Had the fresh fruit crepes which were wonderful! All three of us enjoyed our meals. Friendly staff with quick service. Anxious to return.
I came in at about 8am on a Thursday. Many of the pastries had already been sold, but I purchased a lingonberry pulla, vanilla pulla, almond heart, and orange roll. EVERY SINGLE THING was delicious!! The person behind the counter was helpful and kind. It was a delicious purchase and I will be coming back more to share with coworkers and friends (easy to do, as the prices are very doable!)
Their food is always fresh and delicious. Their gyros are my favorite! I recently tried their "celebration" cake; it was so decadent and delicious! I love to take their frozen quarts of soup home for dinner. They are always good and easy to heat up.
It is always a special treat to go here. Not only is the food delicious, but the people--employees as well as patrons--are always so happy and kind. It is more than a restaurant, it is an experience. My first time eating lefse was here and I got it in a special. It was a savory concoction that they do not normally serve, but I love it so much that I have requested it every time I have returned. They have been so kind to appease me each time, even though it is not on the menu. Not that I am a lefse aficionado, by any means, but they have the best, hands down, that I have tried. Of course, the soups are amazing, the sandwiches are great, and there is nothing like a delicious pastry with a cup of warm tea, while the people at the table next to you strike up a conversation. I don't make it to Little Canada very often, but I make it a point to visit every time I do. Try it. You might just fall in love.
Can you eat anything bad here? No this place is amazing. My biggest issue is what to pick! The bakery is amazing if I could eat here every day I would but we will save it for birthdays
Service was great, very friendly and welcoming staff. We tried several bakery items and it was difficult to choose the best, we will stop by again!
I absolutely love their food and the atmosphere was hands down this morning. The young man at the counter is amazing. You could be feeling down and he will put a smile on your face. His momma raised him right. I made sure to tell him to let his mom know how great he is. He greeted all the customers made your experience personal. He’s a gem. Keep him around. Personality, kindness and attentiveness go a long way. Keep it up young man.
The front staff are amazing and Baker, Anna, is the bomb. I can't remember what this pastry is called but I can't wait to dig in 😁
Delicious Scandinavian and American dishes, bakery, and ornate cakes.
This is our favorite local bakery! We buy most of our bread here, and they have tasty pastries and breakfast and lunch options. They also do wonderful cakes and desserts, and we've used them for catering as well. They did a great job and had pretty reasonable prices for platters!
Amazingly delicious!! The gluten aware brownies are out of this world!!! We also tried the raspberry lemon bars, the giant monster cookie, and the friend cinnamon roll, all of them were absolutely delicious!!! Also reasonably priced! I can't wait to try more!
My first visit here was very recent - January 2023. I found the staff very friendly - they will bring your food to the table for dine in - and then came to clean the table after we were done eating, but still talking. Nice service. Food was fantastic and full of flavor. I will definitely be back.
Taste of Scandinavia is absolutely delicious. We decided to do a cookie & bar dessert at our wedding instead of the traditional wedding cake and were absolutely thrilled with this bakery. Carole (our contact) was very easy to work with. She made herself available to answer any questions and update our menu as necessary. The tasting experience was out of this world and sold us on this bakery. Taste of Scandinavia provided on-time delivery service to our venue the day of. They were easy to work with and we received a ton of compliments on the dessert. 10/10 would recommend.
This is in responses to Shell Pavlik’s review. The deluxe sandwich does not come with 3 different types of meat on 1 sandwich. It’s listed as Ham (COMMA), Roast Beef (COMMA), Turkey (COMMA), or veggie. This is a list of CHOICES not all 3 on 1 sandwich, as a “Food Critic” I would think you would know how to read a menu. Did I know you or your friend came up to the counter again and order the SAME THING? No, as food critic you would think you would want to try different things off the menu to have your own opinion. Yes was I walking around trying to find table number 11 instead 30? yes because you didn’t have the proper table number so of course I was looking for a different costumer, and didn’t I apologize after the misunderstanding? Yes I did. For as long as I’ve worked here I never had someone write a bad review about me because you or your friend can’t read the menu correctly or have human decency to understand there was a misunderstanding. As for the staff that works there that young man with glasses and I are the best employees they have. P.s I never charged you for the pop either so you got something free out of it.
My husband and I ordered food from Taste of Scandinavia for our 25th wedding anniversary party and it was wonderful!! The Dijon Chicken breast was a hit with everyone. We ordered the food cold and heated it up in our own oven-very clear directions on how to do it. I would highly recommend!
I ordered a cake here for the first time for my son's 7th birthday, we got the celebrate cake which was fantastic!! But then we also got the medium size mint torte cake, and OMG every single person at his party was BLOWN AWAY by how amazing that cake was. It was not too rich to make you sick like some cake, but it was so moist and the flavor was just perfect!!!!! I am certain we will be coming here for all events going forward. Great customer service, very polite caring staff and a beautiful shop/cafe. The store location in Little Canada is a hidden treasure!
We've been back here several times since we moved to Shoreview! Love the food and small town vibes!
I've never been here. It was a very nice bakery Cafe. You can tak
Great spot for breakfast or takeout if they are super busy. Wide assortment of pastries. Do it for sure
Made my first visit. Food was delicious and menu had good variety with lots of dishes I would try. Food quality was excellent. Staff was friendly. I gave Services 4 instead of 5 stats as the food took a little longer than expected to come out, and my friend received their meal a good 10 minutes before I did. Atmosphere was clean and pleasant, but nothing exciting or interesting. I will definitely be back to try more of their menu offerings and/or their bakery items!
We chose to order our Christmas Dinner from TOS which was an EXCELLENT choice. I could not have purchased the groceries for such a meal for less than $200, and my culinary skills could never match the quality of TASTE. True confession -- Dec 23rd we served early Christmas dinner to unplanned family visitors with small children. They didn't expect anything, but it was such a TREAT for ME to provide truly delicious food that included SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE!
We recently hired Taste of Scandinavia to cater an important family event and we could not be more pleased. The staff was extremely professional, helpful and pleasant to work with, especially considering we were from out of state. They clearly took pride in their service. The food was a big hit with our guests and we received uniformly glowing compliments on the meal. Quality and taste were top notch. We will not not hesitate to order from Taste of Scandinavia again!
Everything there is amazing you can't go wrong with almost any choice of pastry, dish, or drink it all blends together the lefse is a whole experience from the sweet to savory one it's all really good 9/10
I chose to order lunch for our office (having had your delicious food in person numerous times). At the last minute, our headcount changed and I requested to reduce one of the quantities for an item - and you were so nice about it. I know that you had already prepped for the original head count and even so, you were so kind about making this slight reduction. (Don't get me wrong we still demolished a giant portion of meatballs and mashed potatoes - along with the wild rice pilaf, the delicious garden salad and a tray full of bars) but your generous accommodation made all the difference, and will be the reason we'd return time and again - - - and make sure others know why we love you so much! Thank you!
Very good service from Jacob & Vanessa! Good tasting pastries! Also good coffee & water!
Yes they have wonderful food, great house salad, great meat pasties, and wonderful barbecue burger... but what you really go for it the bakery and the Bakers. The baker was able to pull off a Tron themed cupcake for a 5 year old's birthday party. Its 2017 how obscure is that? We were only going to buy a couple dozen cupcakes and they offered to do a taste test. Of course we accepted and it was awesome. The cupcakes turned out wonderfully. So great food , great bakery items (particularly the kringles :) awesome and talented Baker , and great management. Thanks TOS!
Great place for excellent food, especially breakfast creations, & pastries. The staff is always friendly, helpful & efficient. The chefs do a great job. Mack, Jacob & Leyton always have a smile. It is fun to come for the food & share a story of two.
So delicious! High quality food, great service.
Delicious pastries, great customer service and tasty coffee.
Good Turkey & Lingonberry sandwich and a muffin as well. I came for lunch and had a hard time deciding between breakfast or lunch options. It all looked good on the menu. Food came out quickly and service was good.
Lefse wrap is a hot selection for Scandinavian cuisine. Cinnamon rolls are delicious. Atmosphere could be better but it is still clean and welcoming.
This was my first time eating out of this restaurant I had their first dish I chose from their menu and it was the chicken ceaser salad it was absolutely divine along with the bread that came with it with the cheese spread I absolutely love it. I will order and carry out here anytime they earned a long time customer. Good job cooks. Love your food for the most part will be back for more.

Very simple tables and chairs. Lots of people, popular, but loud because no noise softening. Prices are reasonable. I got the soup sandwich combo. Sandwich was fine. I got a ham and cheese on wheat bread which is just like the cheap bread from the grocery store, nothing special, and the ham was good deli meat, and good cheese . I got the chicken noodle soup I didn't like it. My friends got breakfast and they really liked them. I love the large coffee mug, and I got a chai latte that was delicious. Their coffee is great. Other people seemed to like the soup so I think it was just me. It took a long time to get out food but they were super busy and staff was great. Very friendly, informative and helpful. As a plus size person no worries about the seating it was fine, just not super comfy. Restrooms were clean.
Wanted to try this place for breakfast for awhile. I was surprised to find that it wasn't busy. Food was very tasty! Staff was friendly, but not as engaging. No decor to speak of, just basic tables and chairs. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you. Caramel rolls were very good!
5 star bakery with tons of delicious options! Coffee is definitely an afterthought, so don’t expect the best latte. They do custom cakes and have options for cupcakes too

Friendly staff. They took our order, in a timely matter. The coffee drinks were good. Unfortunately, we change the order to take out, because it took over 35 minutes to prepare it. The reuben sandwich was just okay.
Overall a delicious place for breakfast and the bakery looked fantastic. We got the Swedish sampler(not super sweet and very hearty) and the sweet Scandinavian lefse(delicious but also very sweet). We would like to go back and try more!
Good place for breakfast, but not as nice as their north oaks location. Lefse scramble always sounds good but leaves me disappointed. It comes with pico, but the pico is really spicy.
A few friends of Norwegian ancestry met for lunch. The coffee and bakery were excellent. My soup had to be reheated in the microwave as it was not hot from the kitchen. I asked for a side of rye bread with my soup but was told it comes with Italian white. WHAT??? Rye bread is the bread of choice in Norway. Any restaurant with "Scandinavian" in its name should not offer white bread as the default. A choice of rye, wheat, or white would be appreciated. A friend ordered a waffle with lingonberries. The lingonberries were so sparse on top of the waffle that it necessitated purchasing a jar of lingonberries to add to what she already had. The restaurant restroom needs a makeover and deep cleaning. This has been the case for YEARS. On the plus side, there is ample free parking. The restaurant is a neighborhood favorite with another location a few miles northwest in North Oaks.
We love their monster cookies and macaroons. Great coffee and breakfast. We like pretty much everything. Clean tables. Nice staff. I got the bacon avocado lefse wrap today which was really good. My partner loves the breakfast croissant.
Atmosphere is very college cafeteria. Food is good but I went here for Pulla or Cardamom bread and there wasn't any which is weird since it's a Scandinavian place. Everything is displayed pretty nicely and the coolers are loud like very loud. Kind of cold and dreary
1st visit for me. Nice atmosphere and food was good. I had a salad and friend had omelet... we both enjoyed our meals and will definitely go back and try other dishes. The bakery looked amazing with many options!
Breakfast and pastries were good. Wraps are good. Waffle good.. took forever to get the food and takeout after paying.
Food was amazing. Service not so much. They forgot my drink & my friends entire order. Were prompt when we asked where these items were.
Yes, I know you close in ten minutes. Yes, I asked for items you had already wrapped for the night. I apologized for that. I look forward to my Kringles and pumpkin cookies, and want to enjoy them. Dumping them in a bag, not wrapped is a poorly executed tactic to show your displeasure. I wonder how the next order was presented, to the people who went in after I left. 😔
I had a breakfast bowl of red potatoes, bacon, scrambled eggs and wheat toast. It didn't have much flavor. The prices were higher than I expected. The staff was great. The dinning area was very busy.
Food was fine but not great. Bacon avocado lefse wrap was the better of the two breakfasts. the swedish sampler was unique but they put my sausage in a puddle of whipped cream meant for the French toast on the same plate. The mango passion fruit macaron was all artificial flavor and sugar. The service was slow, about 25-30 minutes to be served breakfast for two. No diaper changing table in the bathroom which is a bummer as this seems like a place that should be family friendly.
Pastries are delicious. Service could be better. Walked in, no hello from the gentleman. Walked up to the register, nothing. The least he could do is have a good attitude and say hello given that it's his job.
Food was good, service confused,& Atmosphre messy, cold & not very comfortable
I’ve been to the Bloomington location many times and always enjoy it. I’ve been to this one a few times long ago and it was fine but this last time I went the food wasn’t nearly as good. Although they do have outdoor seating which is nice I’d probably go to Bloomington for better food and service.
It’s a very neat place. Good fair. This is a fair rating for them in my opinion. One of my gripes with this place is that they told me a certain dish came with 2 sausages but it was just one sausage link cut in half. And whenever I tell them I want to order an extra sausage and to just place it on the same plate as my main dish, they keep putting it on a separate plate for one little sausage.
We were visiting from out of town. We were excited to have some Scandinavian food. The staff were nice but it took over 45 minutes to get our food. Had Swedish meatball and Swedish stroganoff. My husband's noodles were dry and had no sauce. Coffee was cold. My meatballs were good but underseasoned
TL;DR - Pastries are not their strong-suit and are overall lackluster, and if you aren't a regular, don't expect much in terms of service. One visit was one too many; I won't be back. I stopped by on a Monday morning as the bakery I was hoping to stop by originally was closed on Mondays, so I was initially just happy to find that Taste of Scandinavia had fresh bakery items on a Monday, a huge plus.... before I got there. Food: As of about 8:45am they still had an ok selection of pastries so I got a half dozen assorted Danishes and doughnuts for a Monday morning treat for my team. I had a chocolate filled danish drizzled with chocolate which, sounds like a GREAT start, but boy was it disappointing. The pastry was old, chewy in that gross way that pastries get when they are just about ready for the garbage. Add to that all the chocolate had leaked out so the inside was just a stale remnant of the chocolate that used to live there, leading to and old-tasting tragedy of pastry. I've had far better gas station pastries. Service: Barely there. The employees just stood behind the counter chatting with the regulars while I waited to even be acknowledged. When they finally were done catching up, they started talking to the regular who was behind me before finally greeting me. As soon as I noted I was done with my order the employee started chatting it up with yet another regular. It was clear I was of no interest to them and, if anything, be being a paying customer was just getting in their way... what an absolute joke. Atmosphere: If I didn't have to eat the food, and didn't have to try and get service from employees, this seems like it might be an ok place to hang out.

Food is very expensive for what you get. I've had consistent mediocre service while there. The one that was the worst however was me asking for an omelette with hash browns. I get my food and there are no hash browns in my omelette. The woman comes to my table upon request and ASKS me to open my omelette to prove it to her. I open it and she sees about 5 shreds of hash brown. She tells me that I've probably already eaten them and that I can pay for more...WHAT?!? I've worked in customer service in some form my whole life and you don't fight with a customer over hash browns! I hadn't even taken a bite of the omelette yet! I have since taken my business elsewhere. For what it's worth, their cookies are good...
We may have caught them on a bad day, but the kitchen coordination was very off. We ordered on one ticket and one meal was done significantly before the other. That meal sat on the counter for several minutes before being brought out and was no longer hot. It was another 10 minutes at least before the second meal was brought out and it was "warm enough" but also not hot. I've eaten at other locations and had significantly better experiences, which is why I'm hoping this was just a bad day for this location.
It's hard to believe this location could be so different from the one in North Oaks. The service was friendly, but I couldn't believe the food differed so greatly from the other location. We got the stroganoff dish, avocado tuna wrap, cup of soup, and a pastry. After ordering and tipping, we were informed shortly after seating that there were no noodles left. We could change to the normal mash potatoes or a different dish entirely. Since we enjoyed the original dish at the other location, we had no issue going with the potatoes. When the food came out, we were a little shocked. Dried out meatballs. Barely any gravy. Dry tortilla on the wrap. ROCK HARD avocados. Like, I can't believe they served them. There's no way they cut them with a knife - probably a wood saw? Having a little one with us, we just made due and ate what we could. Upon finishing our lackluster meal, it dawned on us we never got our soup. We asked the same person who took our order if it wasn't charged/ordered or just forgotten. He was surprised we didn't get it and said we could take it to go - only to turn around and see that all the soup had been pulled for the day. That's why we didn't get any; it wasn't for sale. I understand that certain ingredients can run out throughout the course of a day. If the place can't make the dish to the restaurant's standards, it should be pulled from the menu. We won't be returning to this location. The pastry was good.
Compared to the North Oaks location this was a disappointment. The coffee was terrible. The main coffee drinker in our group did not finish his. The menu food was consistent with the other location.
We ordered our food and they brought it to the wrong table and left it there and then came back a few minutes later to find out they left out food in front of a family with little kids. They brought it in back and they said they remade the food but when our food came out it was cold and gross like they didn't remake it. The lefsa was hard and I could barely even chew it like it was stale and it was soaked in grease. Look at this nasty lefsa. Expensive and gross food. We will not be coming back. They also want $12 plus tax for five pieces of this nasty lefsa. The one cook sounded like he was bad mouthing a customers appearance right in front of other customers. The food used to be so good here, not anymore. Do yourself a favor and skip this place.

Placed a to go order. Sat a table & waited for it. Only one girl at the counter, so figured they were busy in back. Finally, started seeing other people that ordered after me asking about there food, so I went up as well. Received my food & it was cold.
The place is no taste of Scandinavia :/ Looks like it was built in an old doctors office. Very little charm or atmosphere. 30 mins waiting for the food even while they were not busy - most workers were just standing around the whole time. Ended up just getting a refund and leaving. Two stars for the service because the guy processed the refund no questions. Just go to Perkins
Muffins in our Eggs Benedict was burned and difficult to eat. We weren't in the mood to have them replaced, service was slow. Overpriced meal!
My husband, friend and I just drove to this bakery and Cafe to give it a try for the first time. We love to find new yummy places to eat breakfast. We decided to order pastries first. While standing at the counter making our decision one at a time 4 trays were being removed by a woman on the phone. We asked the young lady who was waiting on us what was going on and she stated the other woman was taking a phone order. The young woman did not seem to care about us as she did nothing to retrieve them so we could have more choices. I guess if you call your order in you are more important to them than the people who got in their car and drove there to eat. We'll never know if their food is good or not as we left and will never return. How rude!!!
I ordered a Pumpkin Torte. I opened the box when I got home and half of the cake was melted. I went back and exchanged the item the the Princess Torte. It was awful. The cake was dry and stale. It was also wrapped with fondant not marzipan. Very disappointing. I will not be returning.
My friend and I went in to order food. I am a food critic and we do reviews on businesses. I did not have my binder with to show who I was. We were at this restaurant bakery 06/01/23. I was treated pretty bad. My friend had the brunette help her I was told she was nice. I had the lady with light brown blonde hair. Not to friendly, very argumentative. I ordered the deluxe sandwich. The sandwich says ham, turkey, roast beef or veggie. It does not say pick one ( ham, turkey, roastbeef) the lady argued with me. I have pork allergies. I asked if I could get the sandwich with no ham. She said “I will charge you for turkey then there is another charge for roastbeef.” I told her the menu doesn’t say pick a meat it says the 3 meats or veggies. She still continued to argue with me so I had to change my order.. My friend ordered the tune wrap. So I ordered the tuna wrap and chicken dumpling soap. The soup was good, The spread with the 3 pieces of bread was amazing. Then things went bad again with the same lady. My friend saw her roaming around with the wraps and asked her if it was for me. Reminder here: My friend ordered the same with a different cashier. This lady saw my friends wrap and said “no the wrap in her hand was not mine,”I reminded her I also ordered the wrap she kept arguing the one in front of my friend was mine. I had to repeat no my friend also ordered one with a different cashier. Finally she gave me my wrap. The young African American male is completely friendly, out going, very helpful. I only saw the brunette behind the counter and the light brown, blonde lady after she was done with me I did not see her come from behind the counter either. This young man would make sure everyone was good, asked if any one need anything, refilled my beverage, very helpful young man. You need more employees like this gentleman. Food I give 3 stars due to its not what I wanted, and it was ok, and soup was good. Service with this lady was horrible so I gave 1 star. I gave 3 stars for atmosphere for the young friendly gentleman. Please either fix the menu for this sandwich, or if it is exactly how it says it is supposed to be made per the menu with the 3 meats or vegys . Please have your employee on the same page and not argue with the customers. And if the menu is wrong instead or it saying you get the 3 meats or vegys if that’s wrong please add you get to choose 1 meat or vegys. Your menu does not state pick 1 meat or vegys. Thank you.
Soggiest sandwich I have ever seen. Maybe if I hadn't gotten it to-go and had just inhaled it immediately, it would have been slightly edible. I should have just gone to Culver's. A tuna melt should not be $9 in the first place, but this mush should ESPECIALLY not be. I think there's a reason this place was empty...
Went today at 11 for brunch. Service was terrible. 20 minutes for two sandwiches. Staff looked very confused. Two managers were sitting in a conference room. Good food, but terrible service!
Well earned review. Lied to by two separate managers about they will special order a cake and then not having it available on said date. Owners should be ashamed of their business practices or lack thereof. Would like my tip back for my last and final purchase.
The 2 children working at 1:30 pm Sunday 2/8 literally moaned and groaned about having to do work today because it was "busy" while we stood in front of them for several minutes waiting to be acknowledged. Wouldn't have trusted anyone here to cook food at this time of day. Maybe service is better during the week or earlier but if this is the staff you have providing service normally, then I have no clue how you're getting 4 star reviews. Yikes.
Came here for the 1st time with my mom for breakfast today. She really liked this place & wanted me to give it a try. We both ordered the loaded hashbrown chorizo breakfast. When our food came it was warm, not hot. The hash browns weren't crispy/brown and worst of all, there was NO CHORIZO in it whatsoever, just a small amount of bacon. It was pretty disappointing, especially for $15.49 each meal when we ordered it for the chorizo specifically. The lady taking our order had raved about how good it was which was why we ordered it. I even went up to the counter to let someone know about the main ingredient missing from the meals we ordered, and I was met with "oh thats too bad". No offer to remake the meal correctly or rectify it in anyway. I even asked the lady to inform the cook that they missed putting the chorizo in the meal and she said she would, yet never walked in the back entire time we were there just stood at the register. Mind you, when we arrived, we were the only people in line ordering food. Additionally, I ordered a coffee. The coffee container off to the side was empty. I had to let someone know. She brought out a full container of coffee out right away, yet the coffee wasn't even hot, just warm, like it had been brewed earlier and was just sitting. The whole experience was pretty disappointing sadly. We did also purchase some pre-made bakery items to go. They were both as expected, and they were delicious. That was probably the only positive experience we had. For reference, we arrived 3-4 hours prior to close and they were not very busy until we were leaving, then there was a line of people ordering.
I was craving a good caramel roll, and stopped here, because it was the nearest bakery to me. I was very disappointed...the roll was dry and had no caramel on it! It was covered with alot of pecans, which I did like, but the roll not so much. Thumbs down
