I really enjoy this place! Not sure why it's never busy but that's fine with me. There's never a wait and they never take long to deliver our food. The fries are delicious and the shakes are amazing! We love coming here! I can't say much on the service, we order from a machine and the only time we see people is when they give us our order..... it's always a nice quiet meal when we decide to visit.

After avoiding it for a while due to their overly greasy burgers, I decided to give the place another chance. Yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised—the cook nailed the perfect burger, and the staff provided outstanding service. The place was spotless, and the food was just right. Thanks to the incredible cook they had last night, I’ll definitely be coming back!

After having bad service & poorly put together meals at a Steak n Shake in Missouri, we were nervous about trying yet another location. Up to that point, every Steak n Shake we'd been to in Kansas City & Iowa City had yummy food & great service. Well, this location did just fine. Food was timely & delicious, & the service was at our level of expectations. LA tried the Kit Kat shake, & a cheeseburger was sticking its tongue out at us.

Came for the tallow fries; Ordered drive thru fries and garlic burger.the guy who took my order was very friendly and nice about my indecisiveness , my food was ready quickly and was hot. Was craving some shakes so we pulled up here. I can easily say they did not disappoint. I got the Reese’s peanut butter cup shake and my fiancé got the Oreo shake, they were delicious! We looked at the menu while there and they have lots of cheap meals for a decent amount! Will be coming back here when I’m hungry for a burger!

I was furniture shopping in the area and had to stop by and grab a bite. Rashad took my order and made my food in a quick, friendly and expeditious manner. It was so good and hot that I literally made a circle to do it again. He had amazing customer service! Definitely earned my rating 👌.

When our number was called to get out tray of food, it was just sitting there with no smile or anyone to ask, DO WE WAIT FOR OUR SHAKES since they are clearly NOT on our tray or do we come back? Hello? Hello? Anyone? I finally asked a worker who only nodded when I asked, "Do I come back for the SHAKES? " Ok, so that wasn't long at all before our shakes were ready but human interaction to assure us they hadn't forgotten our shales was really all I was after. Why did I have to ask instead of a person letting me know? My companion actually wanted to dip his fries into his shake, so yes, it mattered. The delicious food, clean atmosphere and my company helped me to get over the weird no people interaction thing the kitchen has going on. I enjoyed myself, laughed, ate the best burger I've had maybe EVER with one of my favorite persons to ever exist. Prices. Not bad. Really. I spent less than $30 for 2 meals with SHAKES, no drinks though. So, eh, not horrible. Will I come here again? YEP. Absolutely PHENOMENAL food! My daughter and I used to come here when she was 3-6. She’s 15 now and we forgot how awesome this place was! Super clean restaurant, very nice and attentive staff, and the burgers, fries and shakes are still 😋!! Bring the family! Very modern, high tech store. I saw someone leave a 1 star and complain about their QR fountain soda machine. Get over it! We live in a smart world, it isn’t that hard of a transition! It cuts down on dishonesty and theft! You don’t need more than two sodas anyway!

The workers were very nice. I ordered a coffee on the kiosk and had to be refunded due to them not having any which is fine and was explained to me very kindly by the manager. They were cleaning and wiping down walls. My only issue is there was a hair on my tomato and only one peice of bacon. A little annoying but not enough to make me complain. I still ate the burger because steak n shake has my favorite burgers.

Kinda disappointed. Ordered a burger with lettuce and tomato and it came with neither and another order on mine had cheese fries that didnt come with any. When pointed out they put a sad squirt of cheese on it. For my first time at a steak n shake the burger was good just disappointed with the lack of care.

Ok so I love the burgers and the shakes here, really really good. I just don’t like shoestring fries. So today I thought I’d try the chili instead. Now I read on the menu that it had beans in it (I hate beans and chili in Texas should never have beans but that’s beside the point). So I thought no worries I’ll just pick them out. Well it turned out to be about 85% bean! Idk if I can post a photo but once I pulled all the beans out there was like a quarter inch of meat and liquid left. It’s insane.

All automated. Not like it use to be. Not that old malt shop feel they started out. No menus. No wait staff. Not even a great milkshake. Hamburgers are about the same. Less food you get them like before. Drinks are self serve but you scan your receipt to get them. That didn't work well for 2 groups of people I saw. Sad to see it change to this. The Steak n Shake experience has definitely changed. I find myself missing the authentic vintage feel and the diverse menu and promotions they offered just a few years back. Nevertheless, their burgers continue to be a highlight.

Steak ‘n Shake Review Let me start by saying this: the food does be good, when it’s fresh. I genuinely enjoy the burgers, fries, and shakes, and it’s one of those spots I look forward to hitting up from time to time. However, I’ve completely stopped using the drive-thru. Why? Because Steak ‘n Shake has a habit of precooking their burger patties and keeping them sitting in a metal container on the grill until someone places an order. In other words, what’s supposed to be a made-to-order burger ends up being a reheated patty that’s been sitting around, not exactly the quality you expect. So now, every time I go, I have to go inside and specifically ask them to put fresh patties on the grill. And to be fair, once they do, it’s always worth it, the food tastes how it should taste. It’s just frustrating that I have to go through that extra step to make sure I’m not served a lukewarm, pre-cooked burger. Bottom line: If they’d stop pre-cooking the meat and stick to making everything fresh on the spot like the brand was built on, I’d be using that drive-thru regularly. Until then, I’ll keep walking inside and making the request because the food is good… when it’s fresh.

Food was just okay. Food certainly didn't justify the cost. Burger was small and cup of chili was only 2/3 full. Temperature of food was warm at best. I expected it to be piping hot because they cook to order (or maybe not). One staff was helpful, another was just rude and another was hiding out in the restroom and later was walking around the dining area on her phone arguing with someone that she had "paid my bill." The dining room Temperature was freezing cold making me regret ordering a shake. Don't think we'll be back.

I haven’t been to steak and shake for a bit, the one I went to was in the suburbs but long ago.. it was clean and friendly and the business was newly built in a theme era.. this location is old and the food not great.. I was looking to try the taco salad.. the restroom smells.. not as fancy as I remember yet, it was different state and where steak and shake are more popular.

Who else is pissed at Steak n Shake for cheating their customers with their “cheese fries”? They still show cheese fries on the menu, but instead, what you get when you order it is regular fries with a side cup of cheese sauce that’s not even enough to cover the fries. (I have pictures but there’s no button option to add photos) Regular fries with a half empty dipping cup of cheese sauce does not qualify as cheese fries. It requires cheese sauce to be ON all the fries as a topping like before. I used to make midnight runs to Steak n Shake just for this when the cravings hit. Sometimes I’d get a burger and a shake too. Those days are over. (Also they didn’t give me a receipt)

I've never had a spectacular experience at this location. On the few occasions in the drive thru the wait has been so long (10-20min+) regardless of number of cars. Dining-in, our last experience was subpar as part of our order never came and we waited 20 minutes for a rootbeer float even after the food was delivered. We sat surrounded by tables full of dirty dishes that were never bused. The food is reliably what you can expect from any steak n shake. It's good. So at least there is that

My chili 3 ways (with spaghetti) was pretty small, even for $3.99. I've had it when it actually mounded over the top of the bowl, not barely level to the top of the bowl, like this one. Hubby's two burgers for $5 was okay. I think he could have cut out the extra bun and been better off with a triple burger and fries for $3.99. The kitkat shake was pretty good. The server gave only two place settings for three people. She walked off before I noticed I didn't get a setting. Couldn't find her. Got up to look for help before the chili became cold. The third person didn't need silverware and it was on the table. She points out I had silverware and I say I don't have a napkin. I felt like telling her that I don't want chili splatters on my blouse and need a napkin or two. Anyway, had to wait some more before she came back. It might have looked a little silly with a napkin at my neckline, but it's much more preferable to chili stains that don't easily come out. She never checked on us. Why give a tip when service was not friendly or timely?

I've been to several steak and shakes, and this is by far the worst one. I paid $30+ for a very sad meal. The ladies at the serving counter didn't get me everything i ordered/asked for. The place isn't very clean. The energy is a total letdown. It needs some major improvements if it's going to live up to other steak n shakes. The food wasn't all that great either. Im actually very disappointed. $6 for a shiken tender kids meal, and all im getting is 2... i get twice that amount for less at McDonalds.

We checked out the place for the first time and it was empty. We thought it was due to a post snow storm but found out that their service and food was the main reason. We went through today my husband got the number #4 no onions and I got the #5 with cheese fries. The cheese is just like the cheese from Portillos, and didn't have a great taste and wasn't hot. We had to dip our fries into the cheese....like just have the container like on the photo and put them in it When we pulled over somewhere to eat...welp husband's had onions. The pickles weren't that great. I can say the garlic was great but you cannot taste the burger or anything else on either burger...no flavor. I liked the milkshake (minis that nasty whipped cream). The fries were slightly staleish. The vanilla coke was good and the size of the large is a good size for drinks

Staff were nice enough. $5 for a mediocre shake in a Styrofoam cup. The whimsy and atmosphere of a "diner" has been replaced with disposable gluttony. Staff don't take your order, an iPad kiosk does that. Totally a depressing and disrespectful experience. Hope the staff a lovely time when this company inevitably fails.

You order on a giant screen that makes you put in your name. For what? They still give you a number and call that. Want a soda? Eventually someone will notice and call you up to get your cup. Then you’d better hope you kept your receipt because, without warning, you have to scan it to get the fountain working. Yeah, there’s a little digital scanner by the soda fountain. It won’t activate unless you scan your receipt. Apparently, people were stealing too much soda? Guess that penny’s worth of syrup was killing their profits. So now every single customer has to deal with the slowdown and lines at the fountain. All this hassle so nobody gets an extra sip of soda with their fourteen-dollar burger and fries. They also don’t bring your order to you. They just yell from the counter when it’s ready. Fine, whatever, except... After walking in, not being greeted, ordering on a screen, and scanning your soda code, you’re asked to leave a tip. A tip. In a place where no one interacts with you except to shout your order. What am I tipping for? Cooking the food? That’s the bare minimum of their job and not how tipping works. Also, they ask before you even get your food. Before you even know if it’s good. Why would anyone tip at that point? The whole place feels like “What if McDonald’s was even more dystopian?” I might hit the drive-thru sometime, since that’s just about the food and the food is fine. But I’ll never eat inside again. Honestly, after this, even the odds of using the drive-thru are pretty small.

Ordered my food and did not receive my entire order. Tried to call to get my order a cheese fries when the phone answered I was asked “what did I want” and when I said, “I want my full order” I was hung up on and after trying to redial, they left the phone off the hook. This was the worst service I have ever experienced. We literally stood at the counter for 5 minutes with no one acknowledging us, until we called out asking for someone, even though they were right in front of us. Then we asked about paying with cash and then all they told us was they don’t take cash. After a long wait, our order was incorrect. When we waited another long while at the counter with no one acknowledging us- we asked for our correct order and the lady replied, “I don’t know anything about that.” I realize this isn’t fine dining but there were probably 5-7 employees, and all we were asking for was common courtesy. I will never waste my money there ever again.

I wasn't greeted. I waited 18 minutes to get my food after placing order in the app. I stood at the mobile order pickup for 18 minutes with no greeting or order inquiry. After 5 others "in restaurant" orders, I had to ask for assistance twice. They searched for my order, which was sitting near the drive thru. Needless to say, my fries were cold and burger soggy. I took the time to get the app, and this was by far the worst "fast food" service experience. I wouldn't be surprised if this location closes. Horrendous service. I am beyond disappointed. After sitting for 18 minutes, why wouldn't the manager, or any employee, not know to prepare me fresh food. Why wasn't I greeted after 18 minutes? I understand low interaction with all the kiosks, but is this their excuse for no customer service? So, disappointed.

Food is normally correct when I order online. This time they made my burger with the incorrect bun and no garlic sauce or seasoning… what’s the point of ordering a garlic sandwich w no garlic lol??? I drive 10 mins back and they literally put the same burger I bit back in a new bun and sloppily added the rest and the BUN still wasn’t the correct bun!! Food was at best mediocre. I paid for a large order of onion rings. They give me 7 rings and the were the size of quarter . That’s ridiculous. What is a small 2?? The shake wasn’t filled to the top and they didn’t put a cherry on top as requested. I asked for tomato and etc and they forgot to put it on & the meat was so thin it made McDonald’s look good. but to make things worse the customer service is horrible that is if you even get someone to acknowledge you. There were 3 of us today. And we ALL were DISAPPOINTED. They lost 3 customers. All 3 us do NOT recommend them and will tell others . Strongly suggest do not go here. Sorry I forgot to take pictures

Spent 30$ for two ppl. And the food was Not what that was. Our burgers looked like they were thrown together, our order of onion rings were burnt. Overall, we were not happy and ended up getting a refund.

I would leave a no star review if I could. I will not be returning to this location. I used to love this place so it kind of sucks to say that. Corporate or franchise I don't know, but what they are doing here doesn't need to be done anywhere else. If you order extra on anything you are basically just throwing your money away. This place nickel and dimes you and doesn't give the the penny worth of product. The drinks have a secure feature which I could understand for non paying individuals.However, no where is it listed you only get one refill with your drink. You are given a QR scanner that you MUST scan in order to get fountain machine to work and is only good for two uses. The portion size here is much smaller then other Steak & Shakes. The one silver lining to this place is that is Renee greeted us and was extremely friendly and even checked up on us.(Renee if you see this you are a rockstar keep it up my fellow human being!!)The rest of the staff that was working seemed to be annoyed that we existed and treated us like criminals for asking for more drink. The food tastes good don't get me wrong but for the price I paid I can take my little money and business elsewhere for a better experience.

Service was very slow. The girl in front of us , her order came up. No one could hear what he said. They even spoke to her about an application, never told her that was hers. She asks about her food and was told that was it. When the guy came out he was loud saying he said her name 2xs. But very rude about It. They need her more than they know. Whole store staff needs an up grade, no one cared

Both orders were made incorrectly, the QR code to scan for drinks was broken and not enough staff to give drink cups purchased. Self serve and still asks for a tip on the screen. Horrible customer experience. Only decent food was the shake. Will not be coming back.

Ordered a Frisco melt and a chocolate shake via uber eats... they get here and there's no chocolate in the chocolate shake and the Frisco melt isn't even toasted or anything. Call to talk to a manager and she barely speaks English and acts rude and says oh maybe the bread got that way on the way to being delivered... last I checked bread doesn't untoast itself. Shake has what looks like leftovers of chocolate on it. When I asked for the owners number she said she can not give that out. Please teach your people how to toast bread. Its embarrassing.

I did not receive my full order and the burgers I did receive were cold and disgusting. As soon as I noticed, I called the restaurant where my issue was not resolved and I was cursed out by a rude employee by the name of Amir. I was given the run around and told to figure out who delivered my order. After hunting down clues via the delivery texts, I called door dash and they promptly told me I’d have to take it up with the restaurant directly. I was robbed of my hard earned money and respect as a customer, and racially profiled when I took the time to drive to the restaurant to address the issue in person after they disregarded my email and threatened to call the police!

Terrible wait staff. Prepare to wait 30 min for drinks and a hour for food on a non busy night. Below are the "seasoned fries".

Walk in and a guy standing at the counter says use kiosk. While trying to oder the guys just standing there staring at me. I just canceled and went to Jason's deli next door. If you going to make me enter my order while a guy stands their looking at me it explains your empty parking lot, while Rosa's and Jason's are full. You'll never have to worry abouts me as a customer anymore with service like that. I look forward to reading about you guys going bankrupt.

Used to be a regular diner years ago at this location, today this meal was inedible, we ordered 2 garlic steak burger meals, a cookies & cream shake, the burgers were dry, old, bun was fresh but over salted. Fries were dry, old & super salty. Ice tea was old, soured. My 5$ shake was icy, like the ice cream had been thawed & re-frozen several times. We ate almost none of it. It was so bad I didn't even ask for my money back, just threw it away. This place will be out of business soon, one employee who took my order was polite, but you are expected to take your own order. I'll never visit again.

My son had to not eat because he dropped his burger and the manager ( Nina) refused to help , she was disrespectful and acted like she didn’t know English, and told me and my don it’s not her problem and she’s not gonna help out, I wouldn’t recommend anyone eating here ,

Prices are too high, and the scan for drinks thing is dumb. Forget the milkshakes in a glass. They left that in the past. Self-service order stations only. This used to be a restaurant where you ordered at the table. Now it's just an okayish fast food restaurant now.

Ordered thru uber eats a garlic steak burger combo. Shake was good but not filled well and no peanut butter cupc hunks at all. And the burger and fries was depressing. The burger bun was of a regular burger and there was barely any garlic sauce on it. Fries were cold and limp. Never again.

It was me and 1 car in front of me tonight..I was told to pull forward to wait..It took about 15mins..Ok,no biggie but when I get back to my hotel and see there is cheese on my burger when I asked for none..I mean seriously, i am so sick of every damn restaurant not listening to orders..This is BS and I deserve my money back..I can't eat cheese and now have no dinner..Im beyond pissed off

This place has gone down hill. It's been a few years. No longer have staff that take your order. Shake glasses are gone. Paper straws. Food quantity and quality is both abysmal. $1.30 extra for onion rings and you get 7 partially cooked/doughy rings.

Nobody was here and restaurant was dirty just not clean computers where not working, menu has changed and help was minimal. Worst visit ever. Maybe nobody there was a clue. Steak and shake has changed in the last year or so.

We ordered catering service for 75 people for a 93rd birthday party. The order was placed well in advance and confirmed the day before. However, on the day of the party the store manager refused to fill our order - stating staffing issues. I was left with 75 elderly people with nothing to feed them and horrible customer service. They still haven't even refunded my money or answered my calls.

Got here 45min before closing and doors are locked. Guy working in the lobby ignored us and shrugged his shoulders when we pointed at the sign on the door confused that the doors were locked almost an hour before closing

If you like customer service don't come here, you order on a screen and then the people behind the counter can't even be bothered to get you your drink cup. God forbid you want water instead of a shake or soda...

I’m normally not the type to leave a bad review but with how bad my experience was today, I feel like I need to. I ordered a grilled cheese with extra cheese. It wasn’t busy or anything, we were the only ones there plus a couple behind us. My “grilled cheese” was basically just cheese on slightly toasted bread and I could literally pull it apart and the cheese was solid and still cold. My boyfriend ordered a shake when we got there and didn’t get it until we were leaving. He wouldnt even have gotten it if he didn’t go up to the counter to ask them for it.

We went yesterday trough the drive thru and the were forgetting our drinks than we checked our bag we had 4 burgers instead of 5 they asked us for the bag checked it and assured us that the order was complete we drive home which is 18 minutes away and there were only 4 burgers in the bag we tried calling the more than 10 times and no one answers we weren’t even able to call to request a refund and I am just not willing to drive 18 minutes for a burger that we told them was missing is unbelievable!

Would give them no stars if possible. Absolutely awful customer service at this location from about 70 percent of the employees on staff. Completely unattentive. That’s unfortunate because the chain has such good food.

Fries were so stale they were gummy. Always order a garliv butger with tomato, onion and pickle added. Burger was wrong twice and the 3rd time they brought it to me they spit in it. I am livid. I threw the bag full of the food on the ground in the parking lot and left. Will never return.

Went to location to get them to remake said order and they denied it and said that wasnt possible. They allow delivery drivers to steal food by not properly verifying that the delivery driver marks the delivery as accepted. This hurts other delivery drivers trying to make an honest living, and hurts your customers. Thanks for COSTING me money. Absolutely unforgivable.

What happened to the concept of Steak ‘n Shake? It’s sad in here, EMPTY in here. No service whatsoever. Someone points at a computer screen and then you self serve everything yet it asks for a tip. It’s outrageous, it looks like the nostalgic place I remember but it’s a shell of what it should be. My husband mentioned being disappointed that there was so service given anymore and the guy says “sometimes I still serve people” yet no service even when we were the only ones there besides one person. Prices are average considering the economy BUT I won’t be back. You need a receipt to scan to get your drink. Someone had tossed theirs in the trash and they literally made him get it to get his drink. After the fact the guy said said ah man I could have gotten it from the back for you. Ridiculous.

There is no one here to take your order. The two people working have to come around to help you place your own order instead of taking the order. It is truly sad that people are being replaced with kiosk. It lost its charm and fun feeling. Probably why it’s always empty.

Food has been going downhill. The drink machine is off or disconnected. I cant even get a drink refill without my receipt even though I just bought some food. I will not be coming back to this location and I can see why their stores keep closing down. Saving those 15cents on that drink costed this location hundreds in future sales. Who knows this place might be next to close. Heck I thought it was closed as it looks like a ghost town inside there and it's supposed to be the busiest time of the day.

Okay always wanted to try this place and now I wish I never did! I was actually served plastic in my cheeseburger! But the shake was good, not good enough to make me want to come back though. A lady at the table behind us told her husband that the food was terrible. Another guy stormed out due to how he was treated. The guy that called out our actually spelled out our name and when we asked him why, he was a little passive aggressive with us. Is this really the service you get here??

I was greatly confused as to how to order, no cashier/register, no menus just kioksk. Employee came out to help with ordering but lost in translation and made it super complicated. Had to use code on receipt for ICE or coke to come out of machine. No glass for shake, no whip cream for shake. Booths were very uncomfortable, warm in restaurant. The only thing that was good was the steak burger, the fries were hard and cold. No wonder there was no one there to eat. Employee was unfriendly and couldn't give me a number to call or comment about my experience. Even she said she doesn't have an HR number to make complaints. Next time I'm in Ft. Worth, I won't be coming back to this steak and shake. Will not recommend

Recently I ordered a double cheeseburger and a bowl of chili on national cheeseburger Day. What an terrible experience. The burger was so dry, cooked so hard that it looked like a hockey puck. I was so pissed off. The bowl of chili was really a cup full of onions and beans. Well it was meatless and so salty that I would need forty waters to recover from eating it. What a waste of money! I ordered it through door dash, it's really a shame that these types of places charge a extra fee to order from the site and the customer is left with terrible food and know response from them or steak n shake. Beware of the salty chili and dry burger.

I literally witnessed the lady at the window on the microphone yell at the car ahead of us. I don’t know what happened but when you are dealing with customers, there is no need to yell unless you’re being yelled at. And I only heard the worker yell before I heard the customer in the vehicle yell back and drive off. The lady took my order and had still had an attitude with me. Maybe she worked all day or maybe she was having a bad day, or maybe her English is not good enough to work with customers; I’m not sure but she needs to step away from the window for sure. What sucks was the food I ordered wasn’t even good when I got home. This establishment has gone to crap the last few years. It is so sad because it use to be so good.
