Opinions de YOICHI Omakase & Hand Roll Fort Worth
Another quality sushi spot in Fort Worth! This place is great, from every member of the staff, to every piece of fish served. Everyone is so friendly. I recommend the Salmon Crudo. Many around us got the omakase, but we just got assorted nigiris - all were fresh and made with love. Keep up the amazing work!
My closet friend took me to Yoichi recently and it was by far one of the best and unique experiences. Seafood was fresh and top tier. The snowcrab was my personal favorite with the garlic butter melted by torch. Thank you to Yvonne and Jim for providing the best service, so kind and friendly. Honestly the entire staff was amazing but those two made it special! When I’m back in town it will definitely be in my rotation to visit. We ordered a good amount of food it was devoured before we could take more pictures.
Incredible omakase! Each piece in the box was carefully crafted and full of unique flavors. Everything tasted so fresh and delicious. The hamachi was my favorite, it literally melted in my mouth! The service was excellent and so friendly, and the atmosphere was fun and welcoming. Can’t wait to go back again!
We got the omakase and let me tell you, that it was so fresh and delicious! We tried the wagyu sushi and the homachi sushi! We tried so many more! Tried the tuna & salmon crudo which was delightful! Absolutely delicious! Snowcrab sushi was too die for also!!!! We ate till we couldn't! We highly recommend this place! It's pricy but sooooooo worth it! The chefs were awesome and they work hard to make everything fresh! They cater you with perfection! Everything is done right in front of you. I also got the heaven sake baby which was also fantastic! Please come to this place! They also validate your parking if you park in garage behind building. That's a plus!
Yoichi Omakase was such an amazing and warm experience. From the moment you walk in you feel welcomed and taken care of. The fish was incredibly fresh and you can really taste the quality in every bite. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared and super clean in flavor. If you are thinking about trying it, I definitely recommend visiting Yoichi.
Yoichi was an incredible experience from start to finish. Every bite was beautifully prepared, incredibly fresh, and full of flavor. The team was welcoming and attentive, which made the whole meal feel extra special. A must-visit for anyone looking for a top-tier omakase experience. 🍣✨
We had a spectacular night of omakase! The wait time for two to sit on a Saturday night was not long. We both selected the omakase because it was our first time at this restaurant. We enjoyed miso soup to start, then vegetable katsu (fried okra and Japanese pumpkin,) followed by a scrumptious chef's choice handroll. Our omakase box expanded our palates and allowed us to explore the menu. My favorites were the salmon and hamachi crude, and my husband's favorite was the mackerel from their specials menu. The pacing was perfect, and the service was polite. It was expensive, but so worth it!
Yoichi is easily my favorite restaurant in Fort Worth! The omakase, handrolls, and crudo were spectacular. My friends got the sushi and they said it was a perfectly balanced, fresh bite. Everything is top tier from the service, to the atmosphere, to the food and staff. I love that you can come in and either spend more $$ on omakase for a special night out OR you can keep it low budget with handrolls, crudo, and smaller bites. The atmosphere felt inviting and intimate sitting at the bar getting to watch the food come together. Chef Ian is the best and has done an incredible job creating such an awesome spot in Fort Worth. I highly recommend the Tuna Crudo and Omakase if you're feeling adventurous. So many complex and well-balanced flavors placed in one bowl! Highly recommend!
Had the absolute best time here last night. Service was fabulous, the chefs are friendly and so so talented and the fish quality was excellent. We tried the 4 piece handrolls, which were all great, but we decided to also try the eggplant handroll which ended up being a surprising favorite. The eggplant was so flavorful and crunchy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside, and the crispy nori made it the perfect bite. The hamachi crudo was also delicious, as were all the sushi pieces we tried. I will definitely be coming back soon!!
I am a dedicated and frequent customer of Hatsuyuki Handroll Bar, so when I knew that there is another handroll and sushi place where I can order my specific favorites instead of following a fixed Omakase menu, I was willing to give it a try. You can expect to be seated immediately upon arrival, which is a huge plus point. The price is reasonable compared to the quality. Yoichi provides both Omakase and A la carte dining experience and I think the quality of the cuts was excellent. The spotlight of my dinner was the kanpachi nigiri. The cut was from the lower belly of the fish, with deep flavor and crunchy texture. I ended up order the kanpachi nigiri twice. The head chef told me that that specific cut has limited quantity so they can only serve 5-6 portions of that every day, the rest of the kanpachi nigiri will be cut from other parts of the fish, which would still be good, but definitely not as interesting in term of flavor and texture. Another difference that I noticed was that for cooked protein like crab and anago nigiri, the rice seemed to be seasoned more boldly compared to the rice for more delicate cuts of fish like kinmedai or kamasu. I am not sure whether they intentionally seasoned the rice differently for different cuts of fish, but if that was the case, then that was a nice move from them. I would still prefer my rice for those cooked or cured protein to be seasoned slightly less assertive. As usual, I ordered a portion of freshly ground wasabi, to improve my dining experience. My favorite from Yoichi besides kanpachi are kinmedai and sawara. I have tried almost all nigiri options that they have and some are neck to neck compared to Hatsuyuki. The crab handroll, which I normally order in any handroll bar that I go to as a way to evaluate how the restaurants deliver on the cheaper and more rustic options, was also tasty. They mainly used blue crab instead of a combination of blue and red crab like Hatsuyuki so the sweetness and saltiness would be slightly milder. Both are good in their own ways. But I would ask them to remove the furikake next time. There is definitely room for improvement, such as the salmon belly nigiri, for which I wish would be torched more to help the fat melt and release more smoky flavor. Personally, I think the knife skill on the engawa fin nigiri also hasn’t been able to highlight the crunchy and gelatinous texture which are signature to engawa fin, one of my favorite nigiri choice. I definitely would come back to Yoichi in the near future.
Amazing omakase experience, the sushi was incredibly fresh and flavorful, every bite was savory and thoughtfully prepared. The service made the night even better! Chef Ian treated us so well and made my birthday feel extra special! We got the omakase box, and every dish was unique, fun, and beautifully presented. Can’t wait to come back!
I came in during the soft opening period last Wednesday. I heard rave reviews from some friends and as an avid sushi lover and self proclaimed connoisseur I had to check it out. My buddy and I got a pretty good array of things like miso soup and shishitos to start. They were both pretty standard, but still very good, if that makes sense. From there we hopped into the sushi. So here’s the good, and the bad, and the okay. We got the Hamachi Crudo, which is literally the best Hamachi Crudo I’ve ever had. This was far and away the best dish I had that night. We also got the Salmon Crudo. Probably the second best Salmon Crudo I’ve had. Top tier to say the least. I also got several Nigiri pieces. The BF Toro, or Blue Fin Toro, was quite delicious, however probably in the range of 3rd to 5th best I’ve had recently. Still very good. I also got the Hamachi Nigiri, which was pretty standard, and I’d get it again. Now, I also got the Botan Ebi, which is Sweet Shrimp Nigiri topped with Salmon Row. This is the best Sweet Shrimp I’ve ever had. However, I should mention I’ve never had the Sweet Shrimp at what I’d call the best sushi in town. But I’ve had enough to know this is top tier. I did get the Salmon Toro as well. It was very good, but I wouldn’t say anywhere near the best. If I really had to rank it it’d be in the top 10-20 range, no where near the top 3-5. Moving on to the handrolls, this is where I felt things were overall lacking. The Spicy Tuna handroll was delicious and I’d easily get that again. The Negi Hama (Hamachi Handroll) tasted odd at first but it’s because I realized they put mint in it which very much overpowered the fish and the chives. I believe they tried to dress it up, which wasn’t necessary. I pulled the mint leaves out and ate it and it was much better in my opinion. I also got the Crab Handroll and similar, felt too dressed up and just took away the experience of what could have just been a really quality crab handroll. The day I was there they had a special, which they called Engawa, or Flouder Fin. This came as a Nigiri and was a new sushi type for me, though very good. I’d say give it a shot if it’s available. I did have another special that was a type of Tuna Toro, but I can’t remember exactly what it was called. When I go back I’ll try to remember to find out and update this. It was quite good though. All in all, it’s a great experience with sushi chefs who were fun and attentive. I’ll definitely be going back, particularly for the Crudo and Nigiri pieces.
Super surprising! Need to do some dinner in Fort Worth. Sushi has been my favorite food since I was 12. I am way way too picky when it comes to sushi. So the daughter said, “hey let’s go here. It’s got a five star rating.” Well, I’m not gonna say no to sushi and I’m not gonna say no to my daughter. The quality of this place was off the charts. The people are super super friendly. Anyhow, it was epic!
I dont live for food, but I do enjoy eating out. I think with most of us working in healthcare we just need something tasty and high quality; rarely do I actually have, or even anticipate, an experience. Yoichi was indeed an experience. I felt transported for a brief time where I had authentic and amazing sashimi and nigiri, and after that returned to realtiy refreshed and quite full. I tried just the salmon crudi and look forward to trying the other items on the menu again, and again, and again.
Had an absolutely incredible dinner at Yoichi. They just opened and we stopped by on a whim and are already planning are next trip back. Some of the best sushi and handrolls we have ever had. The food was fresh and delicious, the service was phenomenal, and the chefs are masters at what they do. Everyone was so nice and knowledgeable and we thoroughly enjoyed getting to interact with the chefs as they prepared our food. So glad sushi has come back to Magnolia!
The food and service were absolutely fantastic! Every dish burst with unique, delicious flavors, and we had so much fun discovering new favorites while enjoying familiar ones. The chefs enthusiastically described each delicacy, and the presentation of every item was truly outstanding. Every member of the staff was warm, friendly, and an absolute delight. We can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough!
This place is amazing! The chefs & staff are wonderful! I came here yesterday for an early birthday dinner and it did not disappoint! I got the omakase box and a blue fin tuna belly. The appetizers were delicious as well. I left happy and very full!
An unforgettable omakase experience @yoichi_omakase_handroll . Every course was thoughtful and perfectly balanced. From the first course to the last, every dish felt intentional—highlighting the quality of the ingredients. Can’t wait to go back !
We had an excellent experience at Yoichi. The fish was incredibly fresh and high quality without feeling overpriced, which is rare. We did the omakase and it was fantastic, every course was thoughtful and well balanced. The recommendations throughout the meal were spot on and really made the experience better. The staff was warm and attentive, and Asher in particular was so helpful in guiding our selections and answering questions without being pushy. You can tell they genuinely care about the food and the guest experience. We will absolutely be back.

On a mission to try all the best Omakase style restaurants across DFW and Yoichi has claimed a top spot on my list. Excellent service, top tier quality, great atmosphere. Everything was delicious, looking forward to visiting again soon!

EVERYTHING was great! This is a must try. They just opened and their food and service was phenomenal. When you walk in, the location is so inviting and the restaurant feels very intimate and welcoming. So many of the host and hostess are attentive and communicative. As someone that recently moved to the area, I appreciated how friendly everyone was. Now the food ? Divine. We ordered Sapporo black and Sapporo on tap. Then we ordered the omakase since it seemed like a good way to try a bit of everything. I high key recommend trying it since maybe you'll try something you wouldn't have gravitated for on the menu. The omakase was around $85 dollars, but you get three "appetizers" (miso soup, hand roll and chefs special) along with the box with varying rolls and sashimi. Please support local businesses! I hope everyone has a chance to try their food because it's worth it

Absolutely delicious! I ordered the Omakase box and received a variety of sushi 🍣 that melted in my mouth. The presentation was ART and definitely added to overall impression. Service was friendly and fast. Marking this restaurant as a “favorite” on my maps and will be back again.
Yoichi is a really nice and intimate sushi spot with only about 24 seats, which gives it a cozy and personal vibe. I had both the omakase and the 5 roll handroll combo, and the quality was excellent. Everything tasted fresh, the presentation was beautiful, and I really appreciated that they used real wasabi on some of the omakase pieces. The chefs were great to watch and clearly care about what they are doing. I was able to walk in on a Saturday evening as a solo diner and get seated right away with no wait, which was a pleasant surprise. Service was good overall, but it was not quite as warm or attentive as I expected at this price point. The wait staff came across a bit dry and not super enthusiastic, which slightly took away from the otherwise great experience. The only real downside for me is the price to value ratio. It is definitely on the higher side, and personally I still prefer Hatsuyuki Handroll Bar for the overall experience and value. That said, Yoichi is still a very good sushi restaurant with fresh ingredients and strong execution. Sushi is my favorite food, and I rarely give anything less than five stars, so this feels more like a 4.5 to me if that were possible. Since I have to choose, it is a solid 4 stars. Still absolutely worth trying if you love sushi and want an intimate dining experience with high quality fish.

The omakase was delicious! Great interactions with staff who were attentive and friendly. It was kind of a pain to only have bar seating to keep turning around to talk to your server. But to be fair, I’m pregnant, and the belly is a real obstacle. It probably wouldn’t have been as annoying if I wasn’t preg. We will be back to enjoy this spot again!
