OMFG!!! My wife and I were visiting her cuz here in Santa Ana and her cuz and partners highly recommended, since we're vegan, to check this place out. Are we sure glad we did! Food was AMAZING! Delicious! Flavorful! Not to mention, it felt we took longer ordering than when the amount of time for the food to come out. Service was great. The servers were super nice, friendly and warm. Keep it up! I told my wife we should move from MI to the area just for Au Lac!!! LOVE the place!!!
The food here is 100% vegan and amazingly delicious! I invited a friend to join me and she was so impressed with the restaurant and the food. The service was excellent, too. We hadn't seen each other in a long time and were happy that the music wasn't too loud. I recommend Áu Ląc to anyone who enjoys great food., even non-vegans.
I came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy. We were seated immediately and noticed that they have hand sanitizer on all tables for customers to use, which was a nice touch! We started with the salt & pepper tofu and it was good. We wish it had spice but we just asked for sate & mixed it into the dipping sauce. We also ordered the bbq pork spring rolls which were delish. For the entree, I ordered the clay pot with fish, tofu & eggplant. I'm normally not a clay pot person but I thought why not step out of my comfort zone and it was good. I think it could have used some spice so the sate helped. My friend ordered the bun bo hue, it was a really light broth. We asked for extra "fish" sauce & sate, that helped and it was good. It's definitely a lighter version of bbh. Overall I would come back and try other items and service was 10/10!
Anh provides such great customer service and makes everyone feel so welcome. She remembered me from a long-ago visit. So sweet. Callahan is so lovely as well and is very professional. Great service.
We shared a wonderful meal at Au Luc, hosted by My. The restaurant’s unique opening time is rooted in numerology, symbolizing flexibility and fluidity. The ambiance was exquisite, and the flavors reflected a harmonious blend of Vietnamese, French, and Chinese traditions—crafted with love in two kitchens. Even our friend, a lifelong vegetarian, delighted in trying a “shrimp that never swam” at this all-vegan restaurant.
The food is always 10 stars. I've never had a dish here that wasn't phenomenal. I've had the yellow curry, fried rice, salads, nuggets, desserts, and a few other things and it has all been so good. They are the best at what they do, in my opinion. If I want to wow people, I take them here. The servers are very knowledgeable and nice, and the vibes are chill!
This place is fabulous! So delicious! I was a vegetarian for over 12 years so I love finding plant based restaurants and Au Lac is just great! Their chocolata (chocolate drink) was delicious and so was their original chicken noodle soup! So yummy! The service is also fantastic and Sam was a sweetheart! We had a pretty large group but she was on top of it and such a gem of a waitress🫶 I highly recommend Au Lac! Especially to do any luncheons or big dinners. You won’t be disappointed 😍 also, side note but their bathroom is super clean and taken care of!
This is hands down the BEST vegan food I have ever had the pleasure of eating. All of the four dishes we ordered were delicious. I had their *shrimp, and the texture and flavor were surreal. My friend who took me there told a story of how there were some customers who had left the tails because they didn't realize they were faux shrimp!
Wow as we all say wow. Amazing food Delightful atmosphere Adorable Owner New Favorite Raw Vegan food is Life Eat Lovely Life have a Lovely Life Eat Death and Suffering and Suffer and die Our body is our Love temple treat it as such Try a Self Hug for some Self Hug
Âu Lạc not only has a very cozy ambience but superb service and great vegan dishes as well. I love Chả Cá with fresh dill serve with fresh herbs and lettuce. Food presentation here is beautiful. I truly appreciate that they even serve black rice and brownrice paper to wrap with. I would come back again.
What a surprise to walk into this restaurant on a Tuesday early afternoon and find every seat in the house packed. Situated behind the orange curtain (aka the OC) in a nice clean typical Orange County mini mall this restaurant was a standout. The food is amazing as well as it's presentation. I'm not a vegetarian but seeing their food maybe i should seriously think about it. Dish after dish went by with amazing Flair. Soups , salads, various noodle dishes Etc., everything looked fantastic. Our food did not disappoint wonderful mix of complex flavors with incredibly fresh ingredients and wonderful service by The Waiting staff. This Garden Grove Eatery is a must stop if you are looking for a good vegetarian or vegan cuisine at a very reasonable price. Be ready for a wait though I would imagine at dinner time there is sometimes a line at the door. If you like this review please hit like
I have been dying to try this resturant for years and this place really lives up to the hype. All vegan (raw options too) Vietnamese cuisine, everything plant based!! We ordered the salt and pepper shrimp, royal noodle soup and pho. Everything was delicious, super flavorful and came out fast! The shrimp taste and texture is shockingly accurate. I can't wait to come back and try more!
Truly something special at Au lac. My first experience was amazing. I went there for my thanksgiving. The food was delicious. Atmosphere is awesome. Great restaurant and great service. The Staff is friendly and the establishment is clean and comfortable enough for the whole family to dine in. 😋 ohh that Curry Rice dish is magic 🙌🏽 if your in the Orange County Area.. I Really recommend coming here for some good vegan meals 🥘 Guarantee ya tummy will thank ya later.
Wow! Amazing experience at Au Lac! We celebrated a friends birthday here, we had the second room all to ourselves, we could be loud and laugh freely without disturbing anyone. It was so fun! The tea, the food, the dessert, were all amazing! The Salt & Pepper Shrimp was so good! We shared a bunch of dishes between the 5 of us and everything was super! The staff was super friendly and allowed us to stay 40 minutes past closing. I highly recommend this amazing restaurant to everyone!
One of the best plant based restaurants in Orange County and has a great raw vegan 🌱 menu as well!!!! Must try. I love the living curried wild rice 🌾 , durian addict shake, scotch on the rocks and tirawmisu desserts the mostest!!! It’s top tier quality. Also the kelp noddle chow mein in the fountain valley location, and the living burrito in the downtown LAX location Highly recommend and the people / employees here are smart and nice. the owner is sweet and so amazing!!! ✨✨✨ I love this place and love coming with my man, my friends and loved ones 😍 such a beautiful space and environment to be in.
Attended an event at Au Lac last Sunday and, as always, they handled the large crowd effortlessly in their separate event room. The set menu was served quickly, and the wait staff was attentive throughout the evening. Everyone left very satisfied with the delicious dishes and the variety of desserts. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner at the end of the night—her warm personality and the stories she shared about the restaurant’s history made the experience even more memorable. Highly recommend!
The people are SO NICE here and the food is out of this world!!!! Absolutely wonderful! I will be back! The Spring Rolls were my favorite. The Wonton soup was wonderful. And so many other items. The Hawaiian juice drink was refreshing and not too sweet! I am looking forward to coming back and trying more things on the menu!
Au Lac has been around more than 25 years serving delicious healthy Vegan meals to the public. I love this restaurant with a passion :). I dine here every time I am in the area which is very often. Their food tastes clean and flavorful. If you are not vegan, you’re in
We always get the Long Fish. It’s enough for 2. The pineapple dipping sauce is the key thing. Strangely their cold water for the table is an awesome pairing. We brought friends today and got an appetizer. It was wonderful but I was disappointed that it was called “cream cheese.” Such a cute thing needs a sexier name.
The best Vegan restaurant in the area. Every time our family travel to California, we always dined at this restaurant.
Au Lac is one of my favorite places for great vegan food and a relaxing atmosphere. This place offers both cooked and live raw vegan items on the menu. Even meat eaters like myself can enjoy vegan dishes with an open mind. Many dishes are also gluten-free. Food I've tried and enjoyed. • The Chicken Lemongrass has been my go-to, and I recommend it to anyone who still eats meat and wants to try something different but with a familiar taste and texture. • Yellow Noodles were a delicious bowl of light yet savory mushroom broth, fresh ingredients, a mix of vegan proteins, and thin noodles. • BBQ "Pork” Roll is a light starter with a tasty peanut sauce. • Salt & Peppered "Shrimp" - I enjoyed this, and the texture is close to an actual shrimp • The Paella is a pleasant and tasty surprise, with big slices of avocados and a blend of fresh ingredients. • Bun No.35 is a refreshing dish that fills you up without feeling heavy. Pour the soy fish sauce over the ingredients and mix well! • Curried Rice has a cool presentation, and the live food and fresh ingredients are delicious and filling. A few of my friends also enjoyed this dish. Elixirs, juices, teas, and smoothies can satisfy your taste buds and your body. Vegan desserts are also worth a try. Recently, they added vegan cakes! The staff and service are always friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our meal in the chill atmosphere with booth and table seating. Looking forward to returning and trying more!
The presentation of the dishes was truly remarkable. At first glance, I would not have guessed that they were all plant-based. The BBQ Pork Rolls, Bun Bo Hue, and broken rice were all exceptionally delicious. Our server was also very friendly and attentive. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant in the future.
By far the best raw vegan restaurant around. Their cooked dishes are great too. Even my friends who don't eat vegan love the food here! There's so much to choose from, and all of it's great. I wish they would bring the donut holes back! The service is fantastic. We are treated like family.
Delicious vegan Vietnamese food, friendly service, amazing teas. We had the beef Pho, tofu spring rolls, barbecue pork spring rolls, and ginger tea. Everything was exquisite. The spring rolls were wrapped in brown rice paper which I loved and had never seen before. Definitely will be a regular here from now on whenever I’m in town!
Absolutely beautifully crafted food at reasonable prices since they haven't raised them since before the pandemic. I was surprised and blessed to have the whole restaurant staff and patrons sing happy birthday! It was such a lovely meal and I recommend everything! You really enjoyed the salt and pepper oyster mushrooms, soy shrimp, and sharing platter to make your own vegan fish spring rolls.
I visited on my trip to California as I had heard great things about the raw menu. The food was fantastic but our server made the visit even better. They called us queens which I loved, gave great ordering suggestions & chatted tattoos with me. I wish I got their name! Will definitely visit next time I’m in the area.
Au Lac in Fountain Valley with a special mission in mind. Her experience in overcoming serious illness with a plant-based diet fueled her desire to promote healthy eating to her community. Driven by her passion for good food and good health, she put a plant-based twist on traditional Vietnamese cuisine.
Wonderful atmosphere, super friendly staff and delicious food. All vegan food of course. Gluten-free options are plenty, and the desserts all are! Great phở, great summer rolls and “Tirawmisu.” I wish I could have continued eating and eating, so much to explore.
Every single time I come to OC, this is the place I really cannot miss at all. As a plant based person officially since 2009, this place has the most flavorful cuisine to inspire anyone to become plant based with a great inspirational flavorful “smile“. 😇🙏💕
We have had the distinct delight of frequenting Au Lac on multiple occasions, and the experience has always been marked by an unwavering consistency in both food quality and service. Discovering a dining destination that meets the trifecta of cleanliness, health-consciousness, and delectable flavors is no easy task. If you find yourself navigating dietary paths such as veganism or gluten-free, or if you're simply inclined towards conscious consumption, often the challenge lies in procuring organic produce and preparing it at home. In my personal experience, the results have typically been satisfactory but not exceptionally tantalizing. This is where Au Lac steps in and transforms the narrative. It offers a culinary journey that is centered around health and wellness, while not compromising an iota on taste. It is a refreshing reassurance that conscious eating can be a delight to the palate, taking the experience of healthy dining from merely "ok" to remarkably exquisite. Every dish at Au Lac, from their wholesome soups and appetizers to their main courses and even desserts, brims with unparalleled flavor and imparts a feel-good sensation with every bite. The pricing is reasonable, and the service is commendable, further enhancing the overall dining experience. This establishment caters beautifully to a wide range of dietary preferences and needs, making it an irresistible destination whether you're vegan, gluten-free, or have no dietary restrictions at all. Their menu is a tantalizing ensemble of culinary masterpieces. Notably, their eggplant dishes, an array of vibrant salads, hearty stews, and the visually stunning rainbow dessert, each demand a special mention for their exceptional flavors. Au Lac is not just a restaurant; it's a symphony of healthy and delicious cuisine that never fails to impress. No matter your dietary preferences, it stands out as a must-try culinary destination. It elevates conscious dining to a new level, demonstrating that healthy food can indeed be incredibly palatable and enjoyable.
Nice vegan food to get here. Blessed the service was on point & solid value. Clean to use even for restroom. Love the sushi & clay pot fish served to order in house fresh.
Loved the food here! The vast variety of dishes kept us from deciding what to order. Order anything here and you won't be disappointed.

First of hopefully many trips- ordered take out... The staff were friendly and prompt with getting my order. The raw living curry rice was Amazing! Got the pepper shrimp just to try something different- i was surprised at how much I liked it!
Truly lovely atmosphere, traditional dining experience and all. The menu is overwhelming due to having so many options, this is a great problem to have. Our waitress was knowledgeable and very friendly. In fact all the staff was very friendly here. I found that my glass noodles were very salty and others in my party also felt that less salt would make this a perfect gastronomic experience. Will absolutely return!
If you are in doubt about what to order, the menu has ⭐️ to mark their best sellers. The Bbq pork rolls were good, the “pork” tasted and looked like if was made with pork. The egg rolls were good too. The wonton soup, the wonton were ok but the broth was rich. The clay pot fish was wow, soooo delicious, definitely my favorite thing. The desserts were ok. They gave us a complementary pot of tea, highly appreciated after the meal! The service was kind and friendly!! We waited 10-15 mins for a table. There is parking all around the mall so it is easy to find a spot. The restroom was clean.
My first time here was over 10 years ago when I went here for work. A client had recommended that we go there and the experience was extraordinary. I had a rich decadent chocolate smoothie of some kind that still brings back memories and no avail from home. I came back to this restaurant for the first time after all these years hoping to relive some of those moments. The food was good but it wasn't great. The chocolate smoothie felt thin and icy. Nothing like I remember from the past. I couldn't even taste the coconut in it that it's supposedly had. The chicken dish was just okay. The tofu lemongrass was really good. The fried rice with chicken in it was pretty good. The sushi was okay. The Wonton soup was okay. The tiramisu was really good. Overall I think I would give this place three and a half stars but I'll give it to four for all the vegan food that they have.

Dishes were tasty and all staff were extremely friendly and hospitable. My only complaint was in 2 of the dishes, the protein came out cold, like it had been sitting out. Overall I would return again and would recommend
Leftover not safe to eat. My husband and I ate at the Au Lac in LA several times. On 10/05 we tried this location for the first time. We ordered the large Curry Rice (our favorite) and Chow-fun. We noticed the Curry rice was wetter than the one in LA. The food was still good, We took the leftover Curry rice home and ate it for lunch the next day. A few hours later we both started to have stomach cramps. The cramps came and went, and lasted all night. Too bad this experience ruined it. We really liked the food there but not sure if we'll go back again.
