Magnolia Café

Updated 12/19/25: We have been coming here for several years. The customer service continues to remain friendly and is a local coffee shop. Several regulars come here and they do remember you and your orders and preferences. The cafe is outdated in the interior design but the food is comforting and makes you feel at home. If you are looking for fine dining this is not the spot, if you are looking for coffee shop cooking that provides comfort food at a decent price, this is a place. On our last visit I ordered the New York Strip medium rare with eggs and home fries and sourdough toast. My husband ordered the dinner special with liver and onions with no onions, clam chowder, fries, veggies, and corn bread with dessert. My steak was cooked PERFECTLY! Sometimes it is and sometimes it is not when we come here but tonight it was. Very flavorful and my eggs were over easy and cooked perfectly too. The cook in the kitchen was on point when we were there on Fri. My hubby enjoyed his liver and his entire meal too. He did skip the dessert as he was full and doesn't really do sweets unless it's zero sugar. I wish they would offer some sugar free or zero sugar options and also sell some Andes Mints at the checkout area. We will definitely return though as the prices are decent, service is friendly and the food is good with great portion sizes. ----- 3 years ago: Had the New York Steak and eggs. It was cooked the way I liked it. They give plenty of food here. My husband got the Meat Skillet with kielbasa sausage. It was very tasty and a huge portion. Also was happy to see they didn't charge extra for egg whites. He also got the liver and onions sunset dinner, which is served between 3pm &6pm daily and comes with a salad or soup, choice of potato, garlic toast, and dessert. The food was delicious and the diner plays 50's music and has a 70's decor. Regular customers keep coming in and the staff greets them by name. We will definitely return. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Can't wait to come back.

It has an old school diner feel. The staff and patrons have been the same for decades. It was fun to listen to them banter. Lol The service is great. Super friendly. Food came out fast and very tasty. Coffee was really good. We tried the French toast, corn beef hash, soup/salad/cornbread, and the pot roast dinner. No leftovers.

Old fashion comfort food at affordable prices. Specials are a real bargain. I love their vegetable soup, pot roast and corn bread. Have never had a bad meal here. Breakfast is good too. Portions are ample, service is friendly. Most of the staff has been there for decades. It is a local treasure and landmark..

I remember coming here regularly as a kid and the staff being so sweet! I recently went back the the food was amazing! The staff was amazing! Just as great as I remember. I will forever love the cozy feel and adorable look of the cafe, I hope it never changes!

Exquisite. I love the food and the vibe. I always get the Turkey sandwich or one of their huge salads. You definitely won't leave there hungry. The staff if great. I go there each time I pass by Huntington Beach. Enjoy ;)

The food was excellent and the prices is really great... This is a really cute Cafe with a big breakfast menu. I went there with three of my friends, service outstanding, portions huge. I also love the breakfast specials. Would definitely eat here again!

Ok so the prices are a little higher than their online prices but understandable because of the recent economy. I will say service is top notch friendly and very professional. I am so happy to have found this place!!! My friend and I wanted to get breakfast on a Sunday morning and found this charming diner that conveniently opens at 7 AM. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but once you step in, it feels like you're instantly being transported back in time. Right off the bat, I loved the atmosphere of the place. Rainbow Christmas lights, cozy tan booths, and genuine and warm staff -- I felt like I was a character in a 90's movie. Tatiana, our waitress, was friendly, sweet, and efficient. A man named Carlos also approached our table and asked if we needed anything. I could tell from the relaxed vibe of the restaurant and the cheerful demeanor of the staff that the people that work here are authentically happy, which was so heartwarming to see. I ordered the Italian omelette with salad ($1 upcharge) and buttered wheat bread and my friend ordered the San Francisco breakfast option with a biscuit with gravy, plus coffee. We were pleasantly surprised by how soft and fluffy the biscuits were (not dense or hard) and impressed by how good they tasted with the thick, yet light-tasting gravy. My friend said my omelette tasted like chicken parmigiana ("It's delicious!" is what the description on the menu said). I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone for its comfortable vibes and wonderfully caring and attentive staff! :)

I have been going to Magnolia Cafe for many years. It's the same good food and friendly servers with numerous specials on the cards on the table. I moved away from the area seven years ago, so now when I visit, I have an extra special appreciation for this coffee shop. It seems that old fashioned comfort food, table service, and reasonable prices have all but disappeared in this area. But not at Magnolia Cafe. Have a seat at a comfy booth, relax, get some friendly service, some good food, at extremely reasonable prices! Thanks everyone, for treating us so well all these years!

Stopped by for the first time today and very happy we did. The cafe has a nice atmosphere, the waitress and busboy were very pleasant and attentive. No waiting for drink refills and always checking up on us. Food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend this cafe and will definitely come again the next time we're in the area.

Cozy cafe. Very quiet early in the morning, but the breakfast specials are excellently priced for whag you get. I got the steak and eggs and it was pretty good. The service was nice. It's a place to eat.

Casual. Very nice cuz they don't rush you to quickly order, eat & leave. Good strong coffee. Our server was one of the best, made us feel like valued clients. 👍👍🤗👏. Definitely will make Magnolia Cafe one of our favorite haunts. Lots of parking too 😁👏

Had the side salad, wife had the Denver omelette and hash browns, I had the Reuben and hash browns. Salad was fine, omelette and hash browns were good and my Reuben thick and juicy. Also had a biscuit an gravy. Old fashion thick light biscuit and awesome gravy, friendly service, our waitress was sweet, nice old fashion place oldies music. A total kick back place relaxing place with delish food.

You get more food and better quality than you would at a Denny’s or IHOP. The interior is very dated and could use a makeover. It is old but clean. I didn’t notice any old stains or rips in the booths or chairs. The carpet is definitely in need of replacement, but you won’t be walking around barefoot and don’t eat anything that falls on the floor. Overall, exceptional service, decent food and a great hidden spot for a Sunday breakfast.

This is an old school coffee shop. I enjoy going to places like this for the nostalgia and the memories of my grandparents taking me places like this. My fried chicken was really good and my family enjoyed their meals as well.

On a positive note, my husband loved his corned beef hash and eggs, home fries, & biscuits & gravy with iced cold orange juice. However, I ordered the breakfast special of ham & eggs with eggs over "medium", hash browns & sourdough toast. Eggs came over "easy" and hash browns were in a little puddle of oil. Ham & toast were good and service was excellent. Cute, homey little cafe. Frequented by lots of seniors. They have a lot of weekly specials for lunch & dinner too. I've heard their liver & onions are excellent if you enjoy that dish. I'm sure I'll give it another try but order something else.

Good old school diner. Like most people today I price shop restaurants before eating there. I was surprised the actual prices were quite a bit higher than on their web site. Breakfast for two adults with coffee and tip. $40.00.

Food is good dinner food, servers are nice but other patrons, the regulars, are weird. They do not sit together but they converse across the aisles, speak loudly and often monopolize wait staff. Definitely better to order out... It's too bad because the food and location are perfect for us.

The breakfast is OK, but unfortunately the bathroom 🚻 😒 are disgusting terrible dirty . I can't believe thats happening in the place where you eat, I feel sick 😪 😫 about that. I never go back. Because I not sure how clean they cook 🤔 , the bathroom looks like they never clean it

Staff seeing fine but the food was awful. Got what they called corned beef and cabbage, but I don'trecall corned beef and cabbage having slices of flavorless meat. I don't believe they even salt or pepper any of their food it super bland.

The service was solid and attentive, but the food was poorly presented and lacked flavor. Overall, the customer service outperformed the quality of the dishes.

On their website it says $10.95 for a breakfast skillet under the menu bar. When I ordered my total was $61 for 3 skillets. I asked what was the total of each because on the site it says different. The guy said 18.95 I was in shock also because a picture on the reviews from 3 months ago says 17.95. crazy !! Update your site please

I’ve driven by here so many times and always wanted to try it. Today I tried it for the first time and got a French toast plate. It was over $19 with tiny portions and very dry French toast. I was extremely disappointed, but the staff were incredibly kind.
