Awesome food and awesome family owners. A must for vegetarians as well as meat eaters. The naan is amazing, dare I say the best in Orange County? Chicken Tikka Masala is also the best I've eaten. It's a small place but don't let that fool you, this little place has BIG flavor! My advice would be to take your time and ask questions and if you don't understand, politely ask again. Eventually you'll find something you like!
I absolutely LOVE this place!! They are so nice and friendly, and the food is delicious!! Seriously, try the butter chicken, amazing! My new favorite! I’ve eaten here many times and I’m never disappointed!
Amazing. Stop what you're doing and go here right now. Their samosas were fantastic, the garlic naan was perfect, and I'm a little sad I'm not eating more of this right now. Also the owners were very nice and you can tell they actually care.
Been coming here off and on for 20 years+ since my dad used to drag me here as a child. Man, oh man, am I glad! It's a hole in the wall gold mine for great seasoning on traditional plates. I'm pretty basic with what I order, but I have zero regrets! I usually hate naan, but I will only eat it here! My go to is tika masala and tandoori, if you want to try Indian food and have finding not too spicy, I highly recommend starting there and dipping your naan in the masala. 🤤
The lady up front was very nice and provided great feedback on the different dishes. The food was delicious!
The search is over - thank you taste of india! After moving here from world famous curry places in West Yorkshire, UK (bradford etc), we were missing an authentic very spicy curry experience. This was what we've been looking for - ordered chicken madras (spice level 8, perfect, a truly spicy flavorsome dish), vegetable pilau rice (with chunks of fresh broccoli and fresh veg) and fresh garlic naan. The madras sauce was delicious, hot, coconutty, full of fresh authentic flavor. Highly recommend, we will be back, Thank you!
We went yesterday after our beach outing , this place is great and food is delicious , we been coming here for a while wish it was closer to where we live , just traffic heading there . Other than place is clean and everyone is friendly and excellent service . We usually get Tikka masala or Boneless Tandoori chicken and samosa and garlic , our favorite
Very, very good Indian food for very cheap. Don't let the outside fool you. I've tried a few Indian fast food places, and this is how my favorite! The Tikka masala has a decent amount of chicken and tastes great!
Best Indian food I've ever had! Very kind owner. Everything is very fresh and homemade tasting with excellent spices used. It's a hole in the wall gem if you like Indian Food.
Our go-to for Indian food. Great deal for great food, especiallythe lunch special. Great service. I especially love the mushroom matter.
This is a hole in the wall gem. Little shop with quick Indian food to eat there or to go. The price is fantastic, since usually with Indian food you pay way more for less and ONlY one dish. This place you can have more than one dish in one meal, which is a huge bonus... Since I always want multiple Indian dishes. Seriously go here. The food is deliciously just as good as a fancy sit down place!
Easily one of my favorite restaurants, ive been going there for years. I love the curry and the massala, saag aloo, etc. The owners and everyone that works there are very nice, and the food is fairly priced. Like $10 for a one entree combo with rice, salad, and 2 slices of naan. Good portions too. Ive got nothing but good things to say about the place.
Indian food is my all time favorite food and this is the BEST Indian place I’ve eaten at. Extremely authentic huge portions and super cheap! I’ve been coming here since I was a baby. Local secret and best owners!
Oh my gosh the food here is SOOOO GOOD ! .... If you are tired of fast food or sandwiches, then this is a great little place for a Hot Meal..... The selection is limited and I wish the lunch special had 3 entrees instead of only 2. But the food is really good and tasty and the owner says it is fresh daily also..... I will be coming back to Taste of India again. Especially on a rainy day when I need a hot meal.
Excellent Indian food at a low price. The "lunch special" is an amazing deal. It seems to be a small, family-owned, friendly place. Indian fast-food speed and price, with large fancy-restaurant taste and quality.
Excellent Indian food. The old man with the long beard. I’m assuming was the owner or manager. Was a very nice man. Very helpful. Food was delicious. Their chef is a pro for sure. He helped me bring a table and set it outside so my lady and I can eat and be Covid compliant. Good energy. Good vibes. Excellent food. Highly recommend
My first time eating at Taste of India and I chose the right spot. This restaurant was very welcoming and understanding towards us. They offer varying meal options so that you won't be overwhelmed. The owner explained the dishes and offered suggestions which was very helpful for my party. They offer generous portions for the price. Thanks for a wonderful lunch !!!!
Don't let the exterior fool you! It is really good! The owners are super sweet and hard working! My Husband likes it SUPER spicy so call ahead for a more homemade meal i.e. Vindaloo ♡ some dishes need more time to prepare. But if you want the usuals (popular) dishes that are mild or just want to try Indian for the first time, they have them ready and can help you decide. Their naan is AWESOME too!! My faves are the chicken curry, tandoori and Korma👌🏼❤
Wonderful food here! Very flavorful Indian food. I ordered so much because everything on the menu looked so good! (And they were!!!!)
I got three-entrees combo with a garlic naan. The foods were really good especially the red chicken with onion. Definitely will come back to try other naans
$16 for 3 entree combo (i chose 3 chicken entrees), biryani rice, salad, Naan. All the chicken was moist and tender, seemed pretty fresh. Friendly server.
Food is so good. I like too that it’s an easy to get in and out of take out spot. Good prices and options are easy to figure out. Butter chicken, tikka masala, aloo gobi. Ordered 2 extra naan that said $1 for each extra naan and was charged $2 but no big deal, thought $1 sounded low. Seems like they are a nice family owned restaurant.
Great flavor. Curry and Naan is fresh and delicious. There was so much chunky meat in curry I couldn’t finish it. Portion is large. Owner is very friendly and he made fresh tea with 5 spices:) He asked how sweet I wanted the chai to be and he served it just like the way I like it. Thank you!
The food was excellent with amazing price. Love their Garlic Naan!

I have been eating Indian food for about 40 years! this place is an AAA ➕. The spices are exactly right without being hot! The owner and chef cooked at high end restraunts before opening his own place. The chicken tikka is perfectly cooked every time. All bread and somosas are hand made from scratch. The price is VERY reasonable and they have a lunch special till 3pm that cant be beat
Very delicious food for an insanely good price. This place made me discover my love for Indian food.
One of the best places for eating your curry, rice and naan. I ate in many places in So. Cal and finally ready for my review for their unique taste. You feel refreshed when eating their chicken butter masala and find it different than many places. I usually find all Indian places same taste for chicken butter masala recipe but you can feel nutty flavors in the curry. Chicken curry was also refreshing made from home masalas, light on stomach and chicken well tendered and not hold. Prices are also affordable to buy 2-3 curries at $15. Highly recommend stopping by if you are driving on 405 and needs something quick.
I moved to Louisiana a couple years ago and miss this place sooo much!! Mama is so sweet. She always took care of me! One time my blood sugar dropped while i was waiting for my naan and she fixed me up a little plate so fast and sat with me to make sure i was ok. The food there is delicious! I can’t find it here like they make it! My favorites are vegetable korma - saag aloo - and chicken tiki masala!
Always a favorite for me. 'Taste of India' being the first Indian food i ever tried. We come here to eat a lot. And we will definitely be back! Definitely a 5-star rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you Taste of India ☺️
Amazing restaurant, top quality food. Excellent!
So I've tried Indian rice before from a coworker and it was delicious. But my sister in law asked me to come eat Indian food with her after work. So I was wondering what would I order since it was gonna be my 1st time choosing a real complete meal. 😳 but thank goodness she knew exactly what to order. 😜 I tried 3 different entries, the rice and the bread. Salad was alright. But the food taste was extremely delicious. About the price menu I can't complain if the food is great money shouldn't matter. The only thing that did called my attention was the floors and under the tables looked kind of dirty. But other than that great food

Pretty good Indian food for ready serve. You can't beat the price! Good selction of entrees to choose from. The chicken curry was my favorite. Had a real good kick to it. I would recommend for sure.
Pretty good sadly I haven't taken pictures of the food. All I can say is for $8 you get rice naan bread I recommend the garlic 1 item chicken tikka masala is good or the chicken tikka tandoori. They give you a few scoops of salad. This place gets busy towards dinner time.
We've been coming here for years and the food has been great for fast food Indian. If you order things like samosa or chai tea. It could take a bit since theyll have to make it but all in all for the price and what you get our worth it.
I've always loved this restaurant since I first discovered it several years ago. It's a steam table presentation, and also you can get takeout. The food is very tasty northern Indian Punjabi style Indian food. Very good vegetarian items, and their samosas and garlic naan are also excellent. I highly recommend Taste of India, and I eat here every time I'm in the area.

The food was good. However, there is an issue with this place that lowered the enjoyment level while I ate my meal with my family. A young male potential family member (possibly a male child of the owner maybe in his mid 20's) regularly parks his Infinity sedan in the best parking spot right outside the front entrance. During a recent visit, he walked in and out of the restaurant multiple times (including behind the counter where employees go) and then gets back in his car right in front the entrance to the restaurant. His demeanor was rude and unpleasant. His unprofessional presence lowers the quality of the customer experience at the restaurant. The nice employee that took our order also seemed uncomfortable with this young male's presence. It would be nice if this rude male would help the success of the restaurant and be more professional (like maybe park farther away from the entrance, maybe not act like like an angry spoiled child in the view of the restaurant customers if/when he enters the restaurant). In short, if this young male, potentially a young family member of the owner or manager, is not there to help the operation of the restaurant, but rather just loiter, it gives a bad appearance and lower quality customer experience for the customers.
Was kinda let down, my friend said it was good but disappointed by what I had. Now I could have had the wrong item but I have had India food and am a fan of this cuisine. So I'll have to keep looking.
I've always loved this restaurant. Very delicious Punjabi style Indian food. Always good vegetarian choices. I've known the family for years. But I don't know, I seem to have lost my taste for this restaurant a little bit. The attitude of the owner has changed, the portion sizes are smaller, and the attention to detail seems a little less a priority. I've eaten in this restaurant more than 100 times over the years and it's still a pretty good choice. But the last few times I've eaten here have been slightly disappointing.

The food was mediocre. Dry bland rice, they gave me "salad" which was just iceberg lettuce and watery tasteless ranch? I mean I didn't go for the salad hit the food wasn't even fresh, my curry wasn't even hot, and the eggplant look like it had just been sitting there. Honestly it's not a great experience and this is just my first (and last) time there. I hope they can do better, maybe it's just a one time messup but ibe had competition food and they need to step up.
Bought their 3 entree combo and was pretty expensive for the small styrofoam plates they serve the entrees. Guy serving was older guy w/big beard. Didn't look clean cut to work serving food. When I got home, food tasted OK but very small size servings. Samosas I bought were a bit soggy and flavorless.
This is ok place to eat for the price they charge not good not bad ,just neutral , They cud hv welcomed us by greeting which was missing. Also we hd to repeatedly ask for samosa (stuffed potato fry in a savory wheat flour pastry )and dessert (sweet dumplings ). It made me feel like as if they are doing favor . I think the owner of place was a woman mid 50s constantly staring us and our kids . We finished eating somehow but don't wanna go again .
The food was okay, but I wish I had filtered newest instead of “most relevant” before coming here. The customer service is awful! Considering it’s THEIR business you would expect the owners to be at least try to be pleasant people to be around! The woman at the counter was incredibly rude and impolite. It was empty when I came in and none of the tables were cleaned. I’ve had food at other places for better prices. If I were you I’d skip this business and go to the next one!
Today we went to this restaurant at lunch time. We ordered food and one of the dishes served had hair (mustache hair ) in it. When we went to show it, the owner refused to accept and snatched the food from us and refused to exchange it . We went back to our seat as he had other customers at the counter and didn’t want to create a scene in front of all . Later when we went again , he showed our box of food with considerable portion of it removed which also had the hair , and yelled at us saying “See there is nothing” . I am not serving you anymore “. He was absolutely disrespectful and shouted at us and very arrogantly treated the entire group
food is great but don't let them fool you with the prices online. i didn't appreciate how i ordered something that said 8.91 for a lunch combo and when i went to pick it up it was 15.99 each plate. very frustrating since it was a work lunch and i couldn't cancel right there and then even though i wanted to. and the only explanation i got was "i just work here a couple days out of the week, if you want to complain then complain to the owner." very unprofessional i was super upset. and crazy thing is i ordered from this place like 2 weeks ago from doordash. wish i could give it more stars because the food is delish. but the circumstance just ruined it for me.
Been coming here for years. The same person helps at the front but now I don't know if the cook has changed or what they did but the samosa was barley warm and soggy not made fresh as it Always has been the desert had been made several days ago as the lady told us and didn't have a cover on it. It was bad. The Naan bread was not the same at all they now use way too much spice and does not take good. So I have changed my 5 star review to a 1 star and WON'T be coming back. At least I don't half to suffer though the server lady's bad attitude and poor customer service skills as I have done SOO many times in the past. I would recommend going to Sofra Bosnian food across the street. They have awesome customer service skills and great Halal food.
Honestly, after tax you pay $13 and tipping $2 for a 10.99 2 item combo, the garlic naan tasted so boring with no flavor and the entrees weren’t that flavorful either…. I was hoping I’d get a buttery garlicy naan experience with some creamy curry entrees but the two dishes I had lacked flavor and the garlic naan I didn’t even taste any garlic or flavor and the two small slices of naan were very thin. Overall, not worth $13 they should give more naan and make it more flavorful. It’s cheap to make and would gain them more customers if they didn’t skimp on the flavor and portion
I’ve been going to this place for a very long time and it’s gone down hill. The food doesn’t have its flavor it once. Portion size is smaller and the price is up. We got two combos one of them we asked for the curry on the side and the other one we didn’t. The combo with curry on the side we were told to bring our own container next time. The naan is made fresh but if the person working is on the phone she’ll wave it around like it’s a flag for you to come and get it. That phone call must be important, definitely customer service wasn’t. Noticeable difference in food portion when the curry is on the side. 2 combos and 2 soda cans $45.—
Used to like this place but the owner (the old man) has def went down to b rude and don’t care about his customers. We went here for years and loved the food and and got rudely treated when I simply asked for sauce to b on the side (since my kids loved the rice just not the spice). I was told to not come back. Yea not coming back. I remember the lady was really nice to me and the kids in the past, not sure what happen to these owners
Heard good comments about this place,so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the lamb biryani, large size. I was so disappointed! The meat did not look or taste like lamb what so ever. It looked like they took left over curry and just mixed it with some rice. I had such high hopes for this place but it turned out to be one of the worst places I've eaten at lately. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Waste of my time and money, $17! I only ate two bites. You'll be trying to guess what that taste is, definitely not India!!!!
