They have a chef not a cook in my opinion. Worth a nice drive to come eat here 2 hr 20min for me. Very nice atmosphere. Enchiladas are great.
PMC's best restaurant. The kitchen is never short staffed and they're always ready to serve. Service is friendly and fast, food is delicious, and prices are fair.
Great Mexican food restaurant located in the Pine Mountain Club Village. Prices are reasonable and the food is really good. On Thursdays the tacos are half price, so you get 2 tacos for 3 dollars.
This review is solely due to one meal, but that meal- a breakfast burrito with a side of baked tortilla chips- was juicy, fresh, satisfying, and delectable. The bacon and eggs were cooked to perfection and the salsa worked whether you drizzled it on top of your next bite or dipped a chip in it.
Bigfoot discover tasty treasure in Pine Mountain Club—la Leña Mexican Restaurant. Bigfoot happy! Bigfoot walk in, smell spices, feel warmth. Humans greet Bigfoot, not scared of big appetite. Menu full of flavor—Bigfoot's kind of feast! Bigfoot try tacos, like a fiesta in mouth. Salsa—spicy like forest berries, makes big feet dance. Humans make food with passion, like Bigfoot gathers wild treats. Ambiance cozy, like forest campfire. Bigfoot appreciate woodsy décor. Maybe see humans celebrate, share laughter like forest echoes. la Leña—Bigfoot-approved! 5 big footprints out of 5. Bigfoot come back for more Mexican magic. Gracias for satisfying big hunger and making big heart happy!
The food here is very good. I Travel all over the world and can say that this is a hidden treasure for me. The marinated meats and the hot sauce/salsa paired great together. Friendly and quick service also. I will be back.
The hot soup that you can only get in winter was the best on a cold day. Friendly staff and attentive service Delicious food and the best flavor you can get on the mountain. I always stop by when I'm in the area. The cozy space makes you feel more comfortable. Especially the shrimp fajitas are the best. Highly recommended!👍👍
On our first visit, we were surprised to find great Mexican food at a great price. The portions are generous and the taste was delicious. The staff is very welcoming and on top of their game. The huevos rancheros and the menudo were very good. Always get a Mexican coke with your order. The bathroom is small, but plenty big for the amount of people that enjoy this restaurant. The parking is plentiful outside, with a slight walk if you don't get up front parking. We left happy and full. Thank you La Leña.
I highly recommend La Leña Mexican Restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience. If you're a fan of fish tacos, you must give theirs a try! You won't be disappointed. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I'll definitely be back to try more of their delicious menu items.
The food is always amazing. The servers are attentive, most of the time. The reason I gave 4 stars for service is not due to the servers, but when there are events in the village, they have one server. So, whenever it’s crowded, I won’t go. I don’t understand why the owner doesn’t plan for this. Perhaps he doesn’t have a large of kitchen to handle the added guests anyway so he doesn’t care if people walk away.
Ok, so here is a little Mexican restaurant mostly off the beaten path. Food was really good. The young lady who served us did a great job serving a sudden group of 20.
If you want a nice casual meal but still want to make it special, then this place is great. The food and service is amazing. Small family owned mexican restaurant. I don't think any of these kids are over 18 years old but they do a fantastic job! My wife and I have been up here 4 or 5 times just to eat at this restaurant. It's in Pine Mountain Club about 15 or 20 minutes from Frazier Park and only about an hour and 15 or 30 minutes from the San Fernando Valley. The drive up the mountain is beautiful and you feel like you're in a different world. You'll be at about 5500 ft elevation so the air is crisp and smells fresh, it's invigorating. { :-€)
The food was good, but the service was excellent. Pet friendly.
Super friendly, super yummy, very authentic. Outdoor dining is beer garden style with nice views of the club house and the little town Must return post Covid to enjoy their awesome beer garden when it is packed with fun.
This little restaurant is family owned and operated. Don't expect a wonderful ambiance, but it's clean and tidy. The authentic Mexican food is great. Plus, they're open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day of the week.
I enjoyed a really nummy Chicken 🐔 Chimichanga today. My boyfriend had the Street Tacos (with cheese added @ his request). Our server, Myra is great! We will be back soon. Thank you. Meg & Tom
Great, fresh food! We became so confident in how good every single item on their menu was that when some friends joined us for a night, we blindly ordered the first five things on the breakfast menu the next morning. It did not disappoint.
Best Calimex I'd have ever had! Awesome service, Everything was amazing, red sauce was tasty, chips and salsa was perfect, the taco was very good, the shredded beef was very tender!
For being in a tiny town so far out from everything, La Lena Mexican Restaurant was a great surprise! We didn’t know what to expect, but upon walking in the door we were immediately greeted with warm smiles and great service! The lady that served us was super on-the-ball and made us feel right at home! We ordered the sizzling fajitas trio and the enchiladas trio. Both dishes were excellent! In the fajitas, the shrimp, beef and chicken were super flavorful, cooked perfectly and just tasted great. It came with refried beans, Mexican rice, guacamole, pico de gallo, and some tortillas (which were cooked perfectly as well)! All three enchiladas were excellent as well. I can’t decide which was my favorite!! Both meals were super hearty portions (like, super difficult to finish it all!) and it wasn’t nearly as expensive as other Mexicans restaurants elsewhere considering portion sizes. We will definitely return when we visit Pine Mountain Club again!
One amazing establishment in every way. Service was out of the park. Food came in very quickly, and the staff were very nice, got a conversation thrown in as well. Food was outstanding. The flavor of the Carne Assada was top of the line if I'm gonna be honest, especially with rice & beans added. Flan reminded me of Leche Flan. Inside was pretty clean when we went in & ordered. It's pretty small, but it's nice considering the decor inside, it made it a really bright place. I'd recommend coming down here if you're looking for something to eat quickly as you'll most likely get a chat with the fellow staff & the food is something you wouldn't forget!
A fantastic hidden gem. This is authentic family made comfort Mexican food. The portions are huge and delicious and amazing value. I love how you get some tortilla chips and salsa as little starters. It was also nice to be able to sit outside 😎
A wonderful restaurant in the mountains. The staff was friendly, the food delicious and the atmosphere charming.
This was such a great find! The staff were super friendly and the food was delicious. Not only that but the prices are super reasonable! Definitely recommend if you're in the area. They've got a cute little outside dining area too for the summer months.
This was our second visit. When we come to Pine Mountain Club we stop for a bite. The food is great and there is a huge selection. Some of the sizzling fajitas coming from the kitchen smelled so good that I have my order ready for next time. The waitress/hostess/take out phone operator was a rock star!
Food was yummy but I was mostly blowing away by the incredible server. She was amazing!
La Lena Mexican Restaurant in Pine Mountain Club is a true hidden gem! For seven years, we've been loyal customers, and the food has consistently been outstanding. Lupe's homemade cooking is simply incredible. The Chile Verde is, without a doubt, the best I've ever had – melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The tacos are perfectly crunchy and delicious. My husband's favorite is the Burrito Especial, a massive and satisfying meal packed with flavorful meat – they definitely don't skimp on the ingredients! What truly sets La Lena apart is the wonderful family that runs it. Benjamin, the owner, and his children, Alex and Emily, are incredibly hard-working and genuinely care about their customers. Their passion for providing excellent food and service shines through in everything they do. Please support this fantastic family-owned business. They consistently deliver delicious food and exceptional service with so much heart. We highly recommend La Lena!
Husband and I ordered Carnitas and Camarones Diablo and Ceviche. Carnitas is marinate pork meat chuncks and the Camarones is Shrimp enchiladas. (Flour tortilla enchilladas) Both meals were delicious, however the flour tortillas were soggy. I would have the shrimp enchiladas again, but would ask if they can use corn tortillas instead. As for the Carnitas, my husband has ordered this meal 100x. The Ceviche was our 1st time having it, it was incredibly delicious! Will be back!
La Leña is one of the BEST tasting mexican food restaurants in the entire mountain if not the state. Don’t bealieve it can be true? I recommended you try it out! and taste it for yourself! My favorite is the Fajita Trio with 2 Modelos
This place is wow sadly I do not live near here but omg the service the young lady and the young man helped make a 10 people table fast and they offered every bit of everything we didn’t even ask they just ask if we wanted more honestly I did not expect this place to be so good but wow I am amazed yo there tacos and fries marvelous.
Awesome lunch
only place open at 3:00pm on a tuesday in the area. the food was excellent.

Great food and great employees!! My husband and I love coming here.
I eat there every time I visit Pine Mountain. It’s always good.
We have been coming to La Lena for several years. The service is always friendly and genuine. The food is always delicious and authentic. We usually sit in to eat but even when we pick up the quality is always consistent. Best food in the County. Beautiful location to sit in patio and enjoy the serenity of Pine Mountain Club.

Quaint mexican food restaurant in Pine Mountain Club area. Decided to to dine there for dinner, chose outdoor seating on their patio area. Niice evening to sit outside. Ordered their taco and enchilada, both with chicken, combination plate. It also came with refried pinto beans and rice. Overall food was ok. Thought the rice needed a bit more seasoning and the pinto beans were a tad over salted. But flavor was good. Waitress was very friendly and expedient. Parking is somwhat limited in front of restaurant, but there is a parking lot nearby. Would revisit in future for another meal.
Loved the generous chicken fajita. Great prices. A good economical choice for the area. They seemed understaffed but the waitress was very pleasant. Older, well worn facility.
The staff was friendly, service was fairly fast despite the lunch rush, the inside was small and a bit stiff for a warm day, but we ate on the patio which had very nice shade. The food was standard Mexican food. The server was 100% accurate on our order and memorized it. Quite impressive! Salsa had a great crisp flavor.
Good local color restaurant with friendly people and staff. The tacos and enchiladas were very good but the tamale we had wasn't fully cooked all the way inside. The dinning area is very small but they also offer take out if you prefer.
Great food! I had the enchilada and taco. I would love it more if they would serve tequila! But I had a Corona instead. Very friendly service. Lisa was great! They have indoor and outdoor seating.
Decent Mexican food. The staff is super friendly, and the prices are fair. And the food is tasty - but at times the carne asada can be a little tough or chewy. Not sure if a new meat vendor would change this. But it’s a nice little restaurant that maintains a cozy atmosphere in Pine Mountain Club.

I recently discovered this charming Mexican restaurant and it exceeded my expectations. The cozy ambiance, friendly staff, and authentic homemade meals made it a gem in the community. The food presentation is appealing, and the flavors truly capture the essence of Mexican cuisine. Ample parking, indoor and outdoor seating, and the picturesque village setting add to the overall experience. Despite occasional crowding, the excellent taste makes it worth the visit. Highly recommended for fellow food enthusiasts!

I was in PMC for a couple of months as fate would have it. I am a traveling WFH engineer and I quite enjoyed my stay in PMC. I ordered here quite a few times mainly because I dont want to cook. Their food is decent. Staff is very friendly (best part of the place). I am very disappointed with their efficiency. I receved orders that I didnt order but only found out having reached home since I just assumed they fulfilled my order I get a feeling that this is a place where the hosts have taken the business and customers for granted and almost serve with an attitide of "eat here if you want" Their salsa is very good though.
I was visting Fraizer park , with my family . we always like to visit the local restaurant before we leave the area. Party of 9 on a Sat. after Thankgiving and was told by the gentleman that he could not seat us only to go orders he was not serving outdoors today. It was a little disappointing since we had been there for 4 days and been to other places with no problems.Maybe it was the holiday we will try again next time.
The server was the worst. I even asked her if there was pancake syrup and utensils in my to-go order. Nope! Had to drive back from my inspection to be able to eat. And 8.95$ for a single pancake is robbery! Will starve rather than spend my money here.
Been a regular here for awhile now and never had a bad experience until today, when I ordered my usual, a wet carne asada burrito. Waited in line for over 20 mins while the new server let multiple people who came after me cut in line and take their orders first. Meanwhile my food has been sitting this whole time. Finally the server got to me and tried charging me $18 for a burrito when they are usually $12. I asked if the prices went up because it’s never been that expensive and he said no, so I refused the order and left. Not sure what’s going on with La Lena lately, but I will not be going back there anytime soon. Would not recommend.
Service was good and friendly, but the food was not authentic mexican food. They need to do a adjustment to their menu and ingredients.
We were got there around 7:40. The open sign light was on and we walked. We asked the cook if we could sit anywhere and he called the waitress saying they had customers. When she came out we asked if we could sit anywhere and she said, "oh we're closed already." And on the website it shows that they close at 8:30. We're long time customers and this was a very unpleasant experience.
Food was mediocre. We orders the burritos and enchiladas. The food seemed soggy and wet, and left feeling a little uneasy. Not sure how this place has a 4.3 rating? Atrocious. The food is not even Mexican nor authentic. It seems like it’s frozen food and cooked to the point of sogginess. Absolutely not, no thank you. The only thing that was worth the 50 dollar bill was for the chips and salsa. So if you want to pay an egregious tab for chips this, is the place. This place is sus. To those with positive reviews I wonder the quality of food you accept. This ain’t it. Pass.
