This place is a hidden gem. The food is amazing, and the desert they give you at the end tastes like roses and pistachio. They were busy on Saturday night, but they still gave us attention. Everyone is very polite. The bathroom is out abs around, and it's a tiny place, but it feels comfortable and cozy.

Delicious and friendly! Mantoo and Chapli were great 👍 Very simple setting, but honest home style food.

Perfect place for your first Afghani food experience. Family run, honey feeling, very chill vibe, and absolutely delectable food. We had the dough, Banjan Borani ( eggplant + yogurt ) and Qabuli Palow ( rice, carrots and lamb shank ). The 2 dishes go perfectly together, and we can't wait to come back for the Kadoo Borani next time.

I fall in love with this cute family owned restaurant, I tried Afghan restaurants in the Bay Area but this one is so special, from Chapli kabab to Qaboli plaw, Manto and Bolany and everything else is super great. The owner and his family has a great customer service and always welcoming. I absolutely recommend this place to you reader, my families and friends. Thank you! Said Mujtaba

Hidden gem! We tried chicken, beef, and chapli kebobs as well the banjan borani and potato bolani, they were absolutely amazing. The flavors are as authentic and complex as you'd wish for excellent food. 10/10 would recommend

Very nice family-run restaurant. Their customer service stood out, making us feel welcome after our drive from Vancouver to North Cali, accommodating our large group of 13 for dinner. Prices are very reasonable for the generous portion sizes. The food had a homemade touch we really enjoyed. We ordered Mantu, Chicken Kabob, Chapli Kabob, Beef Kabob, and Qabuli Palow, all well-prepared with flavorful rice, Afghan bread, and salad. Every dish, was very delicious and extremely filling. The meat was tender, the naan soft, and very clean. Highly recommended for authentic, tasty, halal Afghan food in Bay Area.

Fantastic Afghani restaurant with great service and fresh, homestyle food. We tried the potato bolani, chicken kebabs, eggplant, and baklava, all which were delicious and full of flavor. The owner was friendly and welcoming, and the place was clean and cozy. We look forward to dining here again.

The food was freshly prepared and simply lip-smackingly delicious. Am sure the recipes have been passed down from generation to generation The Bolani and Manto were my fav dishes. The owners were very friendly and the place had a very homely feel to it. We got Barbara bread on the house yum yum !!!! Thx Google for leading us to this mom and pop gem of a restaurant !!!! Go give it a try.....

I had a dinner yesterday for the first time. I enjoyed the food very much. The restaurant is clean and neat. There is a small parking lot and friendly staff. Update: I Haven coming more often and bringing friends. It is my No. 1 to-go restaurant.

A small and cozy place in Fremont. Not to be missed. I tried the Mantoo and Bolani. Heavenly. The Mantoo comes with a spicy sauce and the creamy yogurt makes this a fav dish to try. The Bolani with cream and mint chutney was delicious. I should mention that the owner, Khushaal was very welcoming and a great host. If I’m in the area, this will be my first choice.

Very nice and cozy restaurant. The owner is sweeter than the firini they have. We had the mando and the trio kebab plate. We thoroughly enjoyed both! The meat was so tender. My mother in law has dietary restrictions and she had brought her own food, the owner allowed her to have her food along with ours. Highly recommend this hidden gem! Will come back with my friends again 😄

This restaurant is a little gem, the best Afghan food I’ve eaten. The food is amazing. We had the Mantoo which was in its delicious sauce. The trio plate had hamburger meat, beef kabob and chicken. Everything was so tender. The owner was so kind and friendly. He shared their squash bolani which was my favorite thing, subtly sweet, nice and crispy yet chewy. Finally their desert was a nice surprise as well! As someone who doesn’t care for rose and cardamom flavored foods, I love it so much I ordered more to go.

To be honest 100% no BS it was really good man I'm not going to lie I paid for what I got for it was delicious the owner really catered and offered over and beyond he went out of his way to give samples of his expertise. Couldn't say no to that. As I waited for my food he gave me a piece of a appetizer called bolani. Let me have a sample of a desert very good. Nobody does that anymore this is what amazed me and he stood out the restaurant stood out for me I remember this and I was shocked no Afghan restaurants will do this this guy worked from the heart and he actually delivered real customer service not by giving out food for free but also going to every table and interacting with the customers asking their experience and he was pointing to the photos on the wall of what it means and what the history is. This guy deserves a trophy I'm telling you nobody does that by far he went over and beyond.

Really enjoyed the best Chapli kabob, I tried the mixed and squash bolani one of my best experience and taste. Anyone wants real Afghan food, Jalalabad style Chapli Kabob, don’t go anywhere but here at Afghan Awasana Kabob.

Afghan Awasana Kabob House is a true gem! The flavors are rich, authentic, and perfectly seasoned – you can taste the love and tradition in every dish. The kabobs are juicy and tender, the rice is fluffy and aromatic, and the naan comes out fresh. The bolani can be ordered in either potato or squash or a combination. The portions are generous, and everything feels like it was made with care. On top of the food, the hospitality here is unmatched – warm, welcoming, and genuine. This place isn’t just a meal, it’s an experience. I’ll definitely be coming back again and again! Best kabobs in town, hands down! Fresh naan, tender meat, flavorful rice, and the friendliest service. Awasana Kabob House feels like a hidden treasure – one visit and you’ll be hooked! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Tucked away and easy to miss if you're not looking, this place is all about substance over flash. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, especially if you roll in after 6 PM, but trust me the food will make you forget all about the parking hunt by the second bite. We came as a group of five and ordered family style so we could try as many dishes as possible. Everything looked good on the menu, but somehow tasted even better when it hit the table. Juicy, flavorful kabobs, fragrant rice, and I even had some eggplant that was tasty and I am not a vegetable guy. The atmosphere is simple and relaxed. It's not a fancy space, but it's clean, comfortable, and feels like a true neighborhood spot. Highly recommend this spot for anyone who loves Afghan food or is just looking for a great meal in good company. We'll definitely be back — and next time, maybe we'll carpool.

My first try on Afghan food, but the best experience ever. Being curious about Afghan food, we just find it from Google map. Very delicious food. The Borani Banjan is a must try. IMHO, the Kabob is better than some Mediterranean food. Truly homemade. Definitely, will pay more visits regularly.

I had the chicken and beef plate. The food was well prepared and very delicious. The salad was crunchy and fresh. I’m only taking a star off because I think they served a bit too much rice for the amount of meat I got on the plate. It was definitely a stretch to finish all the rice.

Ok literally please give this place your business. Will ruin all other bolanis for you but it's worth it I will never be the same lol. The owners are so unbelievably nice and hardworking and they will almost definitely hook you up with an equally amazing appetizer or dessert on the house. Food/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - ordered Mantoo (5 piece), Chapli Kabob, Chicken Kabob, and Beef Kabob. While they were out of Bakhlava, we were able to try some Firini. The mantoo was interesting as it’s a dumpling covered with a yogu sauce and ground beef seasoning. So while it has a savory aspect, it’s also extremely creamy. Both the chicken and beef kabob were tender and well marinated. We enjoyed the seasoning and spices in the chapli as well. The rice were flavored well and loved the salads. The firini is an Afghan milk pudding that is absolutely creamy with cardamom and rose water. While we enjoyed it, it’s definitely a particular flavor. Service: 5/5 - very friendly and attentive. Mom and pop store vibe with how welcoming they were. Ambiance: 5/5 - while it’s a small store with limited seating, it felt very cozy like walking into an Aunty’s house and asked to sit and eat. Value for price: 5/5 - delicious food, friendly service, and cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended place and we can completely understand why!

We met up with friends from out-of-town to have lunch at Afghan Awasana. Kaushal was just the sweetest and most hospitable host, made us feel like we were in his home. If you are looking for authentic home-cooked Afghan food, this is definitely the place. I've tried mantoos in many places. Theirs was one of the best I've had. Potato and squash bolanis are also very delicious, moist and crispy. I personally prefer the squash over the potato ones. Lamb, chicken kabobs and the lamb shank - all were worth ordering. Even their hot tea, which also tastes home-brewed. He also gave us this yogurt dessert that was interesting and totally yummy. The topping mix of pistachio and flowers (I think it's rose) was amazing to the palate. The restaurant itself is not very big, but it is clean and we had a wonderful experience. The restroom is outside but unexpectedly nice and clean as well.

WOW I’m truly impressed. Highly recommend the potato bolani and mandoo. The owners are phenomenal and gave us the best service as well, including something on the house since it was our first time. This is a very small family run restaurant. The owners are full of heart and so nice to their customers. I enjoyed the lamb shank with rice(qalbuli pallow) carrots and raisins. Ye they got great afghan food n all, but guys. The Firni is amazing. This place should be bringing people in the door just for this. So creamy, so balanced in its sweetness, it's the peak of authentic in how good it is, I don't think I've had it this good anywhere else. Also yeah the kabobs are good, Mantoo is great, the ashak is great. I like the shape of the Mantoo.

My girlfriend and I were visiting San Francisco for a vacation and I used to work up in this area about 9 years ago. I had come looking for delicious Afghanistan food and the old place I had gone to had been replaced by this establishment… and what a pleasant and worthy replacement it is! The owner is one of the nicest and most sincere men I have ever met (intelligent and loving)! This is a family owned establishment where the wife and daughter are the boss (I know exactly how this goes lol). The food is fantastic especially the Chapli and chicken kabobs! The yogurt is fantastic with a rich and creamy flavor and the Mantoo is to die for! We were even surprised with a potato bolani (also delicious)! The bread is fresh baked in their bakery (located behind the restaurant) and is so comforting to eat as a starter or with the meal. It is without doubt that I will miss this establishment until I return from SoCal. I highly recommend this friendly and delicious family owned restaurant to be tried and loved by all!!! Thank you Afghan Awasana Kabob House! Can not wait to eat here again! P.S. had to eat here twice during our trip. It’s that good!

akin to coming to a dear friend's home to eat a home cooked meal. flavorful, comforting and fragrant—we loved everything we ordered! the bolanis were crispy, mantoo was silky, and the qabuli palow was balanced. all great portions too! the owners are deeply kind and passionate, and it shows. everything is cooked thoughtfully. we loved every bite and will definitely be back for more!

Wow this is our new favorite for afgan food. First time here, and loving it. Tried the quibili pallao, chicken and lamb kebab, and pumpkin bolani. The bolani was especially good - better than most we had before. The chicken and lamb were nicely seasoned and very juicy. The pallao was perfect - not as oily as some other restaurants. The place is small and not that many tables, and you have to order first at the kitchen, but service was good. Also there was barely any parking, and street parking limited, so during busy times might need to search a bit.

This has to be the absolute best Afghan restaurant in the region. Yes, it small and service can be slow, but that’s because everything is being made fresh. It’s also a great place for takeout and super popular when used for catering events. Everything on their menu is delicious, but the squash bolani is incredible and a must for me.

Really great food here and definitely a hidden gem. We got the leek bolani, qabuli pallow, chicken kabob, and beef kabob — everything was super flavorful and tasted homemade. I did a pickup order by just walking in and placing my order. Took 30 mins. But it was worth the wait. Here is my order: 1. Kadoo Bolani (Squash Bolani) : This was one of the best from the rest. Sweet butternut squash stuffed inside a flat bread. Definitely worth a try. This also came with green chutney and yogurt. 2. *Chapli Kabob: Flat fried tenderized beef meat. It is soft and flavorful. 3. *Trio Kabob: This was a combination of chicken, beef and chapli kabob. The chicken and beef were inch sized cubes but they were a bit too dry. 4. Mantoo (10 pieces): Dumplings filled with beef and onions. It was topped with seasoned yogurt. This was really flavorful and nice. *Came along with rice (brown), small piece of afghan bread, salad and chickpeas. As it was my first time trying afghan food the owner gave me their fresh baked flat bread. It was on the house. That was a kind gesture from him. It was a good experience and will definitely come back.

Overall had a okay experience at this restaurant. The service was average and not really welcoming. The beef and chicken were good but the rice was really cold. Bolani was the best thing I had here, very tasty. Portions were a bit on the smaller side when compared to the price. I know Fremont is expensive but the prices for where the restaurant is located didn't really match up. Would probably go to Fremont Kabob or De Afghanan instead.

The place stinks of some paint smell and the ambiance is so bad! The outside premise doesn’t make it too good either. Unfortunately the food is bland and oily! The dumplings were decent but the chicken seemed heavily colored red! Food was served cold.
