The food is amazing! We were sitting where we could actually see them making out soup dumplings (That's not what they call them but it's how I remember them, sorry about that). Algiers of the food was so delicious. We went there for Christmas dinner. There was so much food we had leftovers for Christmas Day, too. Highly recommend!
We stopped by Din Ding Dumpling House in Union City on a Sunday afternoon around 3:30 PM. We were pleasantly surprised that there was no wait to get seated right away, though the restaurant did fill up while we were eating. The Food Everything we ordered was super good,"juicy" is the best word to describe the meal. Here is what we got: • Pork XLB (Soup Dumplings): These were a highlight. The broth inside was rich and flavorful, and the wrappers held up perfectly. • Piggy Custard Dumplings: Not only are these adorable, but they are also delicious. A perfect sweet finish to the meal. • Shrimp and Pork Dumplings & Beef and Onion Shao Mai: Both were excellent, steamed perfectly and packed with flavor. • Chicken Chow Mein: A solid noodle dish that balanced out all the dumplings well. • Twisted Cucumbers: Crisp and refreshing; a great palate cleanser between the rich bites of dumpling. The Service Since we came during an off-peak hour (late lunch/early dinner), getting a table was a breeze. However, by the time we were finishing up, the place had gotten quite busy. It became a little difficult to track down a server towards the end of the meal to get the check/water refills, but they were friendly when we did interact. Verdict Overall, the food is fantastic. If you love dumplings that are fresh and juicy, this is the spot. Just be prepared that service might slow down a bit if you catch them during a rush!
A new location in the new downtown fremont. Parking may be a bit difficult in front but there are parking lots on the side. The entrance is at the corner of the building Their dumplings and wontons are the best of the location and definitely has good flavor Overall great place to dine for both families and couples!
I had such a wonderful experience dining here! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, but the food truly stole the spotlight. Their tomato egg noodles were the perfect balance of comforting and flavorful. The soup dumplings were a standout, thin, delicate wrappers holding a burst of savory, steaming broth inside. Each bite was deliciously satisfying. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, which made the meal even more enjoyable. This place has quickly become one of my new favorite spots, and I can’t wait to come back again!
Din Ding Dumpling is a fantastic spot for anyone craving authentic and delicious dumplings. The food was incredibly fresh and flavorful, leaving a lasting impression. The portions were generous, making it great value for money. They also offer excellent vegetarian options, which is a huge plus for those seeking meat-free dishes without compromising on taste. The service was excellent—friendly and efficient staff ensured a smooth dining experience. The cleanliness of the restaurant further added to the overall appeal, creating a welcoming atmosphere. If you’re looking for a place that delivers on taste, quality, and variety, Din Ding Dumpling is a must-try! Highly recommended!
Stopped in for late lunch around 3pm, and it was still fairly busy. They sat us immediately and brought out place settings and water for everyone. We looked over the menu cause my kid is very picky. We decided on 2 orders of the pork xlb, beef and onion shao mai, taro buns, spicsalt pepper pork, cumin noodles, beef garlic noodles, and the chocolate strawberry dumpling. Food came out pretty quick. Cumin noodles were pretty good. I liked the beef garlic noodles more than the cumin noodles, but my sister and friend preferred the cumin noodles. Both were good. The pork xlb came out next. I'll have to say these are better than all other restaurants I've tried. A lot of soup, pork was well flavored, skin was perfect thickness. We all liked it a lot even my picky kid. The beef onion shao mai was basically a beef xlb, with beef soup in it. First time I've had this anywhere and I'm glad I ordered them cause they were outstanding. Salt pepper pork was fresh out of the fryer and crispy, the seasoning was a little heavy on some pieces but was really good, my kid liked this too. Taro buns had fresh taro inside and not to sweet, kid liked this too. The chocolate strawberry dumpling was really good. Overall dumplings were outstanding, and the rest of the food was great. No complaints and service was good.
A friend recommended this spot, so I swung by to try a few things. The soup dumplings were easily the highlight—super homey, warm, and hit the spot. I also had the spicy noodles, which were solid. However, I’d skip the sliced beef next time. It was served cold and felt pretty bland. I was surprised by the thick layer of cold fat on the meat; without any tendon or seasoning to balance it out, the texture was a bit tough to get through. Not really what I’m used to, so it wasn't for me.
Good, juicy XLB, but tomato egg noodle sauce was too heavy/sweet/greasy. Noodles were a little thin too and didn't have that nice chew. The wok fried chicken noodle with chestnut was also too oily. The flavor was decent, but overall the pairings of the noodles and the chicken/other toppings was something I found to be unharmonious. The waiters however were very nice and attentive, so overall I'd say this is a decent place in Fremont for XLB, but maybe skip the noodles.
Tried and really enjoyed the below items at Ding Ding Dumpling house Fremont - Wood Ear Mushroom Salad - Pork Soup dumplings - Sautéed Spinach - Chicken wings - Beef Brisket noodle soup - Cumin Beef Noodles Good spot for dumplings and noodles. Food can be a bit greasy .. so bear that in mind and balance the noodles with sauteed veggies.
This restaurant with a decent ambience in Fremont serves authentic Chinese cuisine. Despite being a spacious place, there was a crowd waiting to be seated so prior booking is recommended. One places orders here by ticking off on a printed menu list and handing it over to the hostess. The dishes are served very hot, typical of this type of cuisine and in quick succession with a ticking off of the dish that has been served. We had a combination of vegetable starters such as garlic spinach and mushrooms in vinegar, spicy noodles soup and a few meat dishes including dumplings and chicken wings. The service was very quick and efficient, the dishes not too spicy and authentic. If you are in the area and are desirous of having authentic Chinese cuisine, this could be a place to visit
Ate here with a party of 6 on a Sunday around 7:30 pm. Less than a 15 minute wait to be seated. Be prepared for the food to come out in a random order with no consideration for how much food is currently on your table. Tofu Puff & Thin Noodle Soup (Contains Pork) - would not order again, bland and lacking in flavor Pork Xiao Long Bao - would order again Pork & Crab Xiao Long Bao - would order again, favorite of all the xiao long bao Shrimp & Loofah Xiao Long Bao - would not order again, minimal shrimp, overwhelming amounts of loofah Korean Sprout Vegetable Dumpling - would order it again, favorite item from the meal Pumpkin Shrimp & Pork Shao Mai - would not order again, prefer more traditional shumai dumplings from dim sum Chicken & Corn Shao Mai - would not order again, prefer more traditional shumai dumplings from dim sum Shrimp & Pork Wonton with Spicy Sauce - would order again Dry-Fried String Bean with Pork - would order again Sautéed Green Bean Sprout - would order again Qishan Minced Meat Noodle - would not order again only because it was too spicy for my taste
Nicer and cleaner than their old Fremont location. The Ma La’ spices that has a numb feeling aftertaste’ starter side is much tastier than the diced potatoes served in the old location. Sweet and sour Cucumber appetizer was ok, kind of bland. The XLB is good, dumpling wrapper is on the chewy side. They totally forgot to give us the shredded ginger that goes with the vinegar. Something that never happened at a XLB place. The braised Beef Brisket noodle soup is good but broth is on the light side, not as concentrated as the Taiwanese Beef Noodle soup. Piggy custard Bao, very chewy and doughy. cute little pig though. Updated: leftover XLB has small bone fractures in the filling. Maybe just a bad batch.
Din Ding just opened their new location in Fremont, and I’ve been wanting to try it all this time — and it finally came true last Friday when I went to go have it with my parents! Such a staple place coming here — and it means that one would not have to drive as far as Union City just for good quality XLB that hits just as equally as Din Tai Fung. Though my experience was great, there are, obviously, some caveats and some things that could have been prevented from happening throughout my still great experience. However, let me save that for the descriptive parts of this review, which will reveal for themselves at a later time. Here’s my experience about the whole time: I love the modern chic of the restaurant — it was giving VERY vibrant and I loved the color scheme that it was alluding. Very high, very open — except the entrance was certainly not the case. It was very confusing to know which one the entrance REALLY was, honestly, and that threw me off guard to be quite fair. As we were seated we were given hot water instead of tea. Hmm weird -- but also we had asked for it, so no complaining that much anyhow. Here’s where the foodie brains come in: The crab XLB was honestly very juicy, and very filling. That was by far the most that I’ve ever eaten in one sitting — like at least three or four of them I gulped down. The soup, on the other hand, was barely salted, and it tasted hella bland. The only reason I put so much was because it wouldn’t seem like it if it was actually the case. The fried rice was a little bit too oily - but seasoned just right to make it taste with consistency. The hospitality felt a little rushed — and at first sight, we were given the wrong dishes — we were like “what was going on?” But they quickly corrected themselves and handled their demeanor with professionalism. It also contributed to the atmosphere feeling very tense on a Friday night too, so perhaps that was also the reason why. I’d definitely go back to this location forsure, to try more new dishes once again! But with different selections.
We went here on the weekend for late lunch. The place wasn't crowded. The decor is nice however it needs more attention like the table wasn't wiped clean or when they gave ginger, the bowl wasn't clean from outside. We had Shrimp Toast, which was interesting. My husband liked it. Korean sprouts dumplings and vegetable buns were okay. There are vegetarian options available but definitely more choices would be great to have.
The food was decent. By Bay Area standards, everything was just fine, but no stand-outs. Here’s the thing: dining out is about more than just the food. Yes, the freshness & quality of the ingredients is certainly important, as is preparation and presentation. Again, those things were fine. But the customer service, as well as the overall ambiance in the restaurant, was not great. Which meant the overall EXPERIENCE wasn’t great. Full-service restaurants are a dying thing. I know it’s hard to run such a place. I guess that’s why everyone orders take-out and delivery. It’s a shame, because I love going out and eating IN a restaurant. Please pay more attention to your customer service—the guest experience—and the environment that you create inside the restaurant. This “could” be something great. Fremont desperately needs more locally owned/operated, full-service restaurants. Not chains, not cheesy franchised fast-food or fast-casual “order at a kiosk” and pick up at a counter type places. But if it’s going to be full-service, please put some more effort into training staff, and creating a more friendly, more interesting and inviting atmosphere for those of us spending our hard-earned money for an evening out. Thanks.
Everything is good except the waiter was a bit no class. We were paying our meal . It was 37 something. So my friend was paying 40 in cash. Then ask us to pay for the tip. We agree. So we were gathering some 5 and some 1 for the tip. The waiter was assuming that 40-37=2+ is the tip. And walk away with long face. We were waited and waited. The change never came back. So I told one of the waiter that we havent get our change back yet. ( because we want to add more money for the tip) So they will unwilling to bring back the change but short a dollar. Why? Why? This whole thing is not even about a dollar here and there. It was the waiter mentality was wrong . First of all. You should never never not giving back the customer's change. You cant assume or decide how much us the tip they want to leave you before you decide it for them. Second of all. You should never try to short the change because you assume the customer didn't want to tip so at least you kept one dollar. The whole thing is very unprofessional and very rude . It made the dinner from very pleasant became annoyed..
I am giving 1 star because of the STAFF’S DISRESPECTFUL ATTITUDE TOWARD CUSTOMERS. Today (3/7/26), two friends and I chose Bin Bing Dumpling House in Downtown Fremont for lunch. We ordered quite a lot of food and also placed a to-go order. We had been sitting, eating, and chatting for about 35 minutes when two different staff members came to our table asking, “Do you need boxes for leftovers?” At that time my friend was still eating, and we told them we had not finished yet. There was clearly still food on the table. About 5 minutes later, an older female staff member came to our table and said, “Are you finish? Thank you. Bye.” She then started clearing our table without permission in a very rude manner, even though we were not done eating. I felt extremely upset by this behavior. At that moment, there were only two customers waiting outside. If the restaurant needs to limit dining time, they should clearly communicate that policy, or politely speak with us if they needed the table. Instead, the way this was handled felt very unprofessional. We pay to enjoy our weekend time and a pleasant dining experience with friends, not to be treated with disrespect.
