Opinions de Philz Coffee Fremont
About 20-30 seats and ample power sockets. Convenient and clean restrooms. Good wifi and looks of people working. You can share tables with others. The parking situation is painful. Is always crowded outside
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Philz Coffee The space is cozy and well-organized, with a relaxing atmosphere that makes it perfect for enjoying your coffee or even getting some work done. The staff are super friendly and always ask about your taste preferences, making each cup feel personalized — something you don’t often find elsewhere. I tried the Mint Mojito Iced Coffee and it was refreshing with a perfect balance of strong coffee and sweetness. Prices are fair for the quality and service you get. Definitely a must-visit spot for coffee lovers — I’ll be coming back for sure! ☕👌
Tried this place recently for coffee. It’s has a hippie vibe in a good way. Lots of students and people were sitting with their laptops and working . They only do drip coffee and you select how you want it done . Coffee was really good , But you won’t get any espresso based drinks . Order was taken and the person assisted us with that . Joshua made our drinks and made sure we like it . I wish more cafés took that much time to see if customer likes their coffee because it puts a personal touch to the experience. I will recommend this cafe for sure .
Really love the atmosphere here! Coming to this area makes me feel like that I am in an urban area. Philz Coffee really has good creations when it comes to making coffee. My friend introduced me to this place and I love how the drinks taste. So far, I had Iced Minto Mojito and Iced Coffee Rose. For this review, I decided to order Iced Gingersnap. It really tastes good and sounds like a festive drink if you ask me. So many people come here in the morning, but it’s worth waiting!
Was in the mood for some coffee and wasn't near my usual favorite spot in Oakland. So I googled a pour over coffee spot near me and this Phil's was about 0.7 miles from where I was located. When I arrived, there was plenty of parking. The inside is extremely spacious and the vibes are awesome. The music and the happy staff make it a pleasant place to experience. Another aspect that I enjoyed was the variety of coffee available and their ability to blend. Truly started my morning off right! 😁
I'm a fan of good midsize coffee shops. Most of the time people are getting coffee from major chains, or one off shops that may not be available regionally, but you can get Philz across most of the Bay Area. That's a good thing. The locations are generally well placed, especially this one, and the atmosphere is comfortable. You should know how to specify how sweet you want your coffee before ordering, and then prepare for the coffee flavor overload that is Philz. It's a great Bay Area experience.
So happy the New location is in Fremont. I love the outdoor seating and there’s plenty of parking. This location was easy to find and my coffee was fresh. I definitely will go back again. It does get quite busy during the weekday mornings and weekends! So plan accordingly! Be patient they take their time with a coffee.
I visited Philz Coffee after seeing their limited edition Iced Tiramisu all over Instagram — and it definitely lived up to the hype! It was my first time trying their coffee, and I absolutely loved it. The drink was creamy, smooth, and had just the right amount of sweetness. I’d rate it a 9.5/10 — such a delicious and refreshing treat! I also tried their cheese jalapeño bagel — it wasn’t really for me, as it was a bit too spicy and had a unique flavor I couldn’t quite describe. One of the things I loved is that you can customize how creamy you want your drink — they offer light, medium, or extra creamy, and they even have dairy alternatives if you prefer. Drinks also come in three sizes — small, medium, and large, and I’ll be adding a picture showing how the prices vary. Small $4.90 Medium $5.90 Large $6.90 The vibe of the café was really nice — casual, cozy, and gives off a cool, college hangout feel. The staff were polite, though a little more small talk or recommendations would’ve made a first-time visit even better. I did notice that there weren’t many vegetarian options on the menu. Being a vegetarian, I would have loved to see something like a vegetable sandwich or salad in addition to the jalapeño bagel. It could attract more customers and boost sales. They also have their own merch corner, which I thought was super cute! You can find totes, sweatshirts, mugs, cups, and t-shirts — great little gift ideas for coffee lovers. Overall, though, I’d definitely come back for their coffee — especially the Iced Tiramisu! Highly recommend giving it a try before it’s gone.
Coffee: I go to Philz semi-frequently and always order a medium or dark blend with medium cream and light sugar, but the amount of cream and sugar are often inconsistent. So there have been many times when it has been too sweet and have had to ask them to make it again or have had to ask them for more cream or more sugar. There have been a few times where the coffee has been too watery as well. It would help if all their baristas used measuring cups or some system to keep things consistent. I’ve also noticed the quality of the beans to not be as good recently compared to a few years ago. This could be due to getting their beans from a different supplier and/or being acquired by a private equity firm. Service: I can’t complain about the service as the barista’s are always very nice. The only complaint would be the long wait times but that’s something that cannot be helped as each cup is made individually. However, I have noticed the wait time has decreased dramatically over the last half year. Atmoshpere: The tables could use a wipe down more often and outside umbrellas could be provided at more outdoor tables as most Philz locations’ patios I have been to tend to face the sun for some reason. Indoors at most locations tend to be on the more noisy side and the music they often play is not to my taste.
Great to have coffee custom made to your needs. I’ve been visiting this spot—especially the one in Fremont—whenever I’m in town. For the most part, the coffee lives up to the hype. That said, the place could be cleaner. Over the years, I’ve noticed it getting a bit untidy. Adding a few more couches would also improve the experience.
Philz Coffee is the iconic coffee shop that I discovered in college, when I didn't really drink coffee. My fist foray into the coffee world was their legendary Mint Mojito. Walking into the Union City location, the familiar aroma of freshly ground beans and the bustling atmosphere instantly brought me back to those days. The baristas, though different people, were just as friendly and engaging. I eagerly ordered my go-to: the Mint Mojito Iced Coffee. Unfortunately, the Mint Mojito didn't quite live up to my nostalgia. While the signature muddled mint was there, the coffee tasted watered down and diluted. There wasn't a strong cream taste nor a coffee taste. It was just... meh. To be fair though, it had been over 5 years since I've had it. Maybe things have changed? Or maybe I've changed.
I love it, once you are in San Francisco it’s a must go coffee shop. The owner of the chain is a great guy. Coffee is an experience here, like for instance Jacobs Wonderbar; it has chocolate and smoke! So dark it will wake up your senses! My only comment is on the quality of the coffee lids! As shown in the photo! It keeps leaking! Otherwise the staff and everything is awesome
Coffee is the best you can get if the location you go to preps it the right way. This location seems to both; always fall short on the taste of the coffee (even when you ask for it a certain way) and always take too long on orders. Today the service improved a bit but we shall see in the future. I try to not go there if I can help it but it is the only location close enough to us
They need to hire more people. We waited for about 30 mins. The barista was pretty rude when I asked them for my order, and I only went up to them cause the app said my order was ready. I think they were overworked so I totally empathize. But the owner perhaps needs to hire more people.
It seems this place is consistently understaffed and baristas are exponentially being expected to make more drinks in a shorter time frame upon inquiring with some of the baristas when I asked why it seems drinks come out later now compared to previous years. Management doesnt appear to do anything to support baristas or efficiently implement procedures to ensure efficiency without compromising on service time and drink quality. It is quite disappointing seeing how the workers look like they're in a sweat shop here, and forced to come in sick as i saw some sneezing and sound congested, and when its busy everything appears to be falling apart yet the management and company's only goal is to maximize profits and alienate themselves so much from the people who actually work and produce the products that generate their surplus profit. I don't think I can support this company on a conscious level given how exploitative it has become. I would rather go to and support other cafes that seem to be opening up in the area.
Waited 20+ minutes for my drink at a very low foot traffic time. I’m waiting as the barista is flipping through music on the store iPad, trying to find the perfect song. They come back and hand me my drink with no apology Employees are lacking basic customer service skills. prioritizing changing the music instead of handing out drinks
It’s been a while since I last came, so I wanted to give this place another try. Unfortunately, the service quality is still very poor. I stood there for a long time and no one came to assist me. If you order online, you’ll have to wait almost an hour — which is honestly ridiculous. If you’re already hungry, I’d recommend not using their online order at all. Definitely hope they can improve.
I usually go here for Philz because I love their coffee, but today I waited 24 minutes for a cold brew after being 2nd in line to order. One person ahead of me and two people sitting down on the waiting bench. By the time I went to go ask for a refund they still hadn’t even started on it. 24 minutes from when I ordered inside and they still weren’t working on it. The manager or whoever just said “yeah sorry about that”. The wait time here has always been kind of long, but I’m over it now. Time to find a different local coffee spot.
