Vons Chicken

Though the staff seems very fresh and young, they’re all really kind and sweet. I think they’re trained well and are all doing their best to be accommodating and hospitable. I think the culture derives from the manager, whom herself displays these soft skills. Chicken is amazing! The honeybutter fried chicken is the way to go! 10/10

Von's never lets me down. The chicken is always on point, crispy or glazed or whatever. Garlic chicken is very flavorful and the crispy with the hot sauce is perfect with some rice. I've tried most of the fried choices and those are top two for me. This location has had friendly and knowledgeable staff each time I've been in and would recommend it over anything else on Mowry Ave. If it seems pricey, it won't after you realize how much better their chicken is than some white bearded man's secret spices on some dry second-rate chicken.

1st order by Delivery all went well, the honey fried drums are to die for... so are the onion rings... so I’m back for more!! I ordered in person today but only a 20 minute wait! Same order. I’m sure it will be great!! Update: I’m still eating at Vons like once every other month it is absolutely the most delicious chicken I’ve ever had, even better than my own mother who truly makes amazing fried chicken but oh my God, Vons Korean baked honey batter chicken is just to die for! every person I have introduced to Vons has become a diehard fan as well. You get a lot of food and every bit of it is delicious, I even love the coleslaw but I do love coleslaw in general but theirs is really good! I even get it delivered now, it’s worth it! You gotta go; you’ll be hooked too!

We ordered takeout from their online portal and picked them up at a designated time. Loving the Special Sauce Chicken (we opted for spicy), Crispy Fried Chicken (we took the honey butter option), the sweet potato fries, and the tasty fried rice! Truly great find. They also provide catering services. The price is incredibly reasonable, a great bargain actually, for the quantity and quality we got.

🍵Hot tea is self-serve and complimentary! If you ask for plastic gloves to keep your fingers clean, they will provide them!😀 There are 7 dining tables indoors. On a Saturday for lunch 5 were filled.

The chicken was fantastic and larger than o thought it would be. Very tasty and different than other fried chicken in the area. Sweet potatoes fries were also great but there wasn't anything special compared to other locations. Definitely will visit again, staff was friendly and welcoming too!

Nice and attentive staff. My husband and I usually get a full order of crunch fried chicken wings and another full order of the spicy crispy fried chicken wings with soy garlic sauce glaze betweenthe two of us. Sure there are some leftovers, but that's the point so we could have it again at home. 😁 We've been going at least once a week and the pieces we get are always cooked consistently and to a crisp! We also like the yang-nyum chicken, but since it's covered in sauce, it's not crispy as I want it to be. The coleslaw is good but we just love the radish, so we always ask to have double (or more) of it. It's so refreshing and really good with the chicken.

The food is good as usual. Solid fried chicken. BUT the service was so good. The main lady was so nice and accommodating. I would go back just for her. That’s what great service does.

At first I was sad to see Coco Chicken had been replaced, But Von's is much tastier, with more options! Got the crispy yang-nyum chicken and the oven roasted padak chicken. The yang-nyum has a very interesting sweet and savory flavor - love the sticky sauce and the crunch, too! The padak chicken is very moist but perhaps a little too oniony - it is absolutely smothered by green onions. Still tasty though. (I've heard the padak chicken is a bit better at the Sunnyvale location). I like that you can specify whether you want all wings, all drumsticks, a combination of both, or even boneless. The rice cakes are ok, and the kimchee fried rice is also decent. The restaurant is very tiny, but each time I've been here I've managed to luck out and get a table.

In these dark days, it is great to find such a delicious fried chicken. Went there today and as soon as I entered my car, I could smell the flavors waiting in that small box. Well, too bad that when I got home and after taking a shower my pregnant wife devoured the entire content...at least she liked the chicken...

The chicken is lightly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. The kid and I always like to get the honey butter chicken because it's seriously the perfect marriage between savory and sweet. The other offerings outside of chicken are really tasty as well. The service at this location is good, although some may think that the servers are a bit brusque. I have no problem with it, but some of my family noted that they feel a bit intimidated by some of the servers. They're not unfriendly by any means, but can sound a bit terse, particularly when it's very busy. I find that service is attentive, and when dining in, the service staff stop by when they can to refill drinks and check if everything is going fine. Overall, this is one of those places that our family consistently goes back to when we're having a craving for some good fried chicken because it's really that good.

I was out of town and we went out here for dinner for velantines and it was great food and the workers were very nice and kind people, if I wasn't out of town and lived here I would go here alot but one thing I didn't like was someone said this drink was only $4 but turned out to be $12 but all and all it was amazing.

I ordered the crispy garlic chiken but it was not crispy. They really sould put the sause on the side so when you eat it, the chicken is not soggy.the chicken was still pretty good. Next time I'll make sure to have the sauce on the side. The server were nice and quick.

The wings overall were pretty good, a half potion is definitely sufficient! We ordered the special sauce chicken mild, as well as the crispy fried chicken with honey butter. I was a little disappointed the honey butter came as a powder sprinkled on top of the crispy fried. French fries were tasty, not overcooked or too salty. One less star due to the powder of honey butter and the fact that it was not mixed into the batter. Otherwise, service was great!

Not sure if it was an off night since this place used to be good, but I got takeout tonight and it was all overcooked and dry

maybe it's because I've never dined in but I don't see why this place is rated so highly. got the soy garlic chicken once, super dry and had a weird chemical taste. got the yangnyeom chicken, it was ok. fried well and good sauce amount but the sauce itself wasnt anything special. was looking forward to the vons special sauce chicken as it was recommended—worst one of all. the chicken was 50% skin, sauce was disgustingly sweet and tasted like cinnamon. no other distinguishable spices. only yangnyeom was something id eat without being paid to.

They should just close this location would be best for Vons chicken. This is easily the worst location, chicken definitely not fresh. They don’t ever offer sauces they basically expect you to eat your chicken dry.

I think they have changed boneless meat from leg/thigh to breast. Also, meats are very thin, which makes fried chicken dry and tough. I do not recommend boneless chickens.

It used to be my favorite, but now that the owner has changed, the prices have become very expensive. Now, a piece of fried chicken costs $37, whereas it was only $15.99 a month ago. We ordered an order of wings (only) from this location during the super bowl, and they ran out of wings. It’s fine that they did, but they didn’t call to tell us that this was the case, so we were surprised to find out when we brought it home. What we ended up getting were only drumsticks, which tasted bitter/burnt, which I suspect means that they didn’t replace the oil. We ended up tossing it all out, since they all had a bitter taste to them. I’d think twice about ordering from this location again, especially when other options are nearby.

I had the kimchi fried rice and it legit tasted like nail polish remover. I told the worker in the front and he told me that it’s made fresh everyday but when there’s extra from the day before they use it the next day. Then he told me that it was from yesterday so that’s why. He didn’t offer to take it off the bill or anything, I only had 2-3 small bites cause I tried to like it and the person I went with had to spit out hers after a could bites, it was $5.99 each (we got two)
