Opinions de Yuki Fremont
I'm certainly not an expert on Japanese food, but this place definitely smacks of authenticism, and the tamagoyaki (which I had never had before) was really excellent. Definitely met my "jiro dreams of sushi" induced expectations of how good sushi can be. also, for business travelers, the only one of five sushi places in the Fremont area I tried who actually takes american express.
Yuki has been around since more than 25 years ago, and the food has always been tasty and fresh. One of my favorite authentic Japanese restaurant in the Bay Area.
been going here 20 years it is perfect. like someone's clean living room
They've been around forever and I wouldnt be surprised if its the oldest sushi restaurant in Fremont. You get what you pay for here. Food is fresh and the service is great.
The food is excellent. The smoked saba (mackerel) is unique and the best I’ve had anywhere!
Hands down the best sushi and service I have ever had in my life. I ordered the Chef's Choice Sushi. Wonderful soup, wonderful salad, wonderful tea, sushi to die for.
Best Japanese food In Fremont CA with amazing sushi and out of this world beef teriyaki open for lunch then again for dinner definitely a treat
The salad was fresh and crunchy with a good dressing and pretty carrot. The miso soup has thin noodles in it! Pretty atmosphere. As of this date, sushi is only offered on Friday and Saturday.
My friends and I come here often as it is close by to us. The service is great, staff is friendly and food is good. The place is priced just right. Overall, great value, I recommend the Katsu Curry when they have it, large portion at a great price.
Like these days It's roughly Japanese compared to the usual restaurants that make. This restaurant was really delicious and special. The sashimi was so fresh though kitchen food is really good 👍. It was authentic Japanese food. sake chazuki was delicious 😋
Open for Take out both lunch and dinner during 'shelter in place'. Support the local restaurant!! It's a great food. If you want home made Miso soup with somen noodles, bring a hot beverage proof container!!!
Great, authentic Japanese place. Best Sushi I ever had . Love this place. Will highly recommend this place .
This place is a hidden gem! Authentic Japanese food with good quality fish. The specials are amazing. My favorite is the hamachi kama. Their other dishes are very good too (smoked salmon, saba, etc). Not your typical Americanized sushi rolls with cream cheese and plastered with sauce. This place is pricey but so worth the occasional splurge. Note: They do not have a website. The website you find online was made by a random person not affiliated with the restaurant many years ago. So, it is very outdated.
Yuki's is a very small sushi restaurant, and also quite popular. There is a long wait to get a table, and an additional wait to get your sushi. However, both the freshness and the quality of the sushi is excellent, I have never had better sushi anywhere else. Their non-sushi items are also quite delicious, including ramen and baked entrees. Our server was also quite friendly and very helpful in explaining what different unfamiliar items were. I would definitely want to eat here again, but I'd have to reserve some extra time for the wait.
Honestly really good food being the only Japanese restaurant in the area they hold up the traditional so well from the sushi chef down to the katsu all of it was really amazing an I been to a bunch of spots definitely a must go
We like the small Japanese restaurant environment here. This evening we have the Kampachi kama, Negi Toro hand roll, hamachi , amaebi, bluefin tuna. Everything are so good!
We dined at the Yuki’s last night. We ordered 3 items combinations which comes with salads miso soup 12 pieces of Sashimi, calamari steak, grilled saba, with cold noodles, cabbage as side. Sashimi is very very fresh. Udon is also good. However Sushi was not available last night. They don’t have sushi every day, so call ahead before you go. (Sushi chef only comes in Friday night & Sat. All day. )Thanks
This was my first time here, and I have to say this place surpasses many local omakase spots! It’s truly a hidden gem for anyone who loves sushi. If you try this restaurant, you might not want to go anywhere else afterward because my standards have definitely gone up after dining here. Paring the sushi dinner and the grilled saba was good. If you’re not too full, order a bowl of rice, it makes the grilled saba taste even better. The service was exceptionally professional and welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. If you want authentic Japanese food, go to a Japanese restaurant owned and run by a Japanese chef this place proves why that makes all the difference. I can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu
Had a lunch here with a gf on a weekday. First time here and it was highly recommended by my partner.
It's an authentic cozy Japanese restaurant. Great food, good price, convenient location in Fremont. Highly recommend.
probably best Japanese in Fremont The daily specials is always a treat and the fish is high quality. Nov 2018 update: lost sushi chef, sushi bar closed. a few walked out because of that
I've been to Japan many times. And Yuki is my favorite place in Fremont when I crave for authentic Japanese cuisine.

Wonderful ambiance and good service but the real highlight was the food which tasted great!
We come here almost every week. Most of the time I just pick one of the grill fish from the daily specials on the wall - I like all of them ! The sushi and especially the hand-roll from the wall list are also good. Highly recommend this place.
Always quiet, hidden hem, their house smoked fishes and miso salmon is one of the best in the bay.
Authentic Japanese food the way it should be! Great sushi, made by a Japanese sushi-man, not like other places. The place is decorated with Japanese memorabilia, which makes the place very special! It’s my go-to place when I don’t want to cook .
Best sushi I have had for a really reasonable price. The rice was soft and fresh. The portions were decently large. They didn't skimp on the fish. I ordered a spicy tuna roll and the New York roll. Best smoked salmon and cream cheese roll. Their wasabi tasted fresh and strong. I can't say much to their service as I ordered out, but it's a small place that looks comfortable. I look forward to trying out more of their sushi.

Located in a strip mall and small in size but this place has staying power. They serve traditional style versus fusion. Great quality at a good price. It gets crowded fast due to its small size but its worth the wait.
Romantic and ambient atmosphere. Food was a bit salty but generous. Service was awesome.
A small but authentic Japanese restaurant located in a small mall. Sashimis are quite fresh and tasty. Good for business lunch or family dining.
One of the best places to go to for fresh anything really :) I love going here for their sushi, combinations, and udon! They're only open from Tuesday to Saturday, they close Monday and Sunday. I would always recommend getting their sushi because it's really fresh! The restaurant is authentic japanese and they really care about the quality of their fish which is why the food here is delicious. Some of my favorite dishes are: Nabeyaki Udon: The flavor of their broth is amazing. It's sweet but savory and there is just a ton of flavor. The Udon size is small but they pack it with a lot of stuff! The noodles were nice and chewy and I also like the tempura that comes with it because I think they make really good tempura! Grilled Mackerel/Saba: They make really tasty fish. They grill and smoke the fish so you can taste that smoky flavor which makes their fish so delicious. Ginger Beef: This is one of my favorite dishes to get in the dinner or lunch combinations. The beef is really tender and full of flavor. The beef is thinly sliced and sits on top of a sizzling platter! Sushi: I can't remember all the different sushi i got here but I remember them being really good and fresh. They always have daily specials on the white board near the sushi bar so look out of those because there always some really good things on there! The wait can get pretty long because there isn't too many seating but it's cute small restaurant.
Yuki is one of only a couple of authentic, Japanese-Japanese restaurants in Fremont. It often gets low marks on certain review sites because people go in expecting Crazy Super Gonzo Rolls and they throw a fit when they don't get them. Well, too bad. It's not that kind of place. Here you will find Japanese home-cooking-style dishes (nabe, croquettes, etc.), basic but good sushi (nigiri and maki), basic but good sashimi, a very short selection of California-style sushi rolls, and a handful of unfussy fusion items because, as the Japanese friend who introduced it to us said, "the chef likes to experiment." Their Cali-style items are actually pretty good; they smoke their own salmon, as I recall, so the smoked salmon and cream cheese roll is unreasonably delicious. Their mackerel is excellent and it's the first place I ever really liked it. Ramen is not a specialty, though; I would get that somewhere else. Service can be slow. Prices are fair; combination meals are pretty large. Adjust your expectations and you will have the best Japanese eating experience in Fremont. If all you want is multi-colored rolls with lots of sauces, though--and I admit those can be tasty--please go somewhere else.
Seated immediately. Courteous staff. Clean restrooms. Reasonably priced. No standout dishes that I tried, but my companion says the spider roll is top notch.
I really enjoyed yuki's. It's a wonderful little neighborhood joint with good quality food. They only serve sushi on Friday and Saturday, but sashimi is available all the time. The quality of the fish was good, the presentation was nice, the dishes were quality (no disposables), and the waitress was genuinely charming. Is it really high end Japanese? No, but it's the high end of local sushi joints.
We waited a little bit for our food and were in a rush but when it came it was really good! It is a lot of food for a very good price, it includes miso soup and salad.

Didn't mention that sushi bar is closed...food is okay, just very expensive for what they offer. Portion is also okay.
Service was outstanding and the food was good. The sashimi was arranged and served in a beautiful bowl making it very appealing. The tonkatsu was tender inside and crispy outside. Lovely.

Came in for a quick lunch, since I was having stomach issues and wanted some plain rice. Also ended up ordering some miso soup and some vegetarian rolls. Service was fairly quick, but the wait staff was contrary; one was friendly, the other one was pushy and impatient; guess which one served me. First time in a while I've felt rushed and unwelcome.
Food came out fast, but tasted very bland. And they only have sashimi, and not sushi on the weekdays. It's bizzare that a Japanese restaurant wouldn't have sushi everyday. It should be posted on the door. We only stayed because we were seated and didn't want to be rude. Also took 15 minutes to get water. I asked a waitress a question and she tucked her head down and ignored me. I wouldn't go back.
Went for sushi on a whim, was given a menu and seated, took a few minutes , was given tea and then when I ordered sushi was told they don't serve sushi. But it's in the lunch menu over half the right page and then was told only on certain days and left as they didn't seem want to serve sushi at said eatery.
OMG, terrible! We both have diarrhea and found out they changed the ownership. PLEASE DON'T GO. The Google reviews is from the previous business.
Visited on a weekday dinner time. There was no sushi chef at the restaurant so no sushi was available to order. What kind of Japanese restaurant has no sushi or nigiri to order? We walked out after learning of this.
Just ordered 2 dinners to go and it took way too long. From the time of the call to actually receiving the food was 45 minutes! They give priority to seated guests and not take out orders. Felt like they did not start the order until I got there and paid for it. So I was just standing there for 25 minutes until it was done. And they forgot to put the sauce on the side, so it took another 5 minutes to get that. Not recommended unless you have oodles of time to waste.
I had been here so many years and so many times. The food is good and the price is ok. After old owner, waiters, and waitresses left and no longer work there except one waitress remaining she is good waitress. Not long ago they hired a new waitress she is so mean and rude and unhappy person. Whenever the time for it to be closed and customer still eating at their table she is making loud noise, start banding the table, vacuum, pushing customer to get out. I don't think she is a right person for the job. I think that is one of the reason they're been losen customer a lot not because their food.
Made reservation for the dinner, but still waited in the door for 10+ minutes, not because it's crowded ( I can see the seats were reserved). After we finally set in the table, we had another 20+ minutes wait for the order, no body seems care about us, so we left. I felt the restaurant was treating us as the beggars to beg their food. Eating in a restaurant suppose to be a happy time, but instead being treated badly, and suffered a lot of disappointments.
The hostess or boss can’t tell was rude and curt with us as soon as we came in. I dunno why she had such an attitude we literally had just walked in the door. We were not a huge party 4 adults 1 child 1 infant and we’re not making a ruckus I dunno why she greeted us in that way. Aggressively asked us if we had a reservation while the restaurant was half empty with the capacity staying the same throughout our dining. The food was fine pretty standard food portions. But then I went outside and when the door closed behind me it must have caught this wire that powers their open sign. She said you knocked this down you put it back up. Uhhh your sign is not mounted with anything other than tape and a wish your door swings both ways. It’s not my fault your sign is not mounted at all. I still obliged and helped put it back though and even helped to push the wire higher so it wouldn’t catch. Not a sound of thanks. Just rude. Then at the end of all this they had the gall to add a 20% required tip. I will not be coming back here and will be telling everyone to avoid this place
I’m not sure why there are so many good reviews on this place. Staff was very rude and food was terrible. Chicken Katsu and beef was very dry and bland. I had a terrible stomach ache after. Should have trusted my instincts and walked out. After meal I was told they have a minimum 20% tip. Please avoid this place, I will never give them my business again.
I was so excited to try this restaurant because there rating was high but I was so disappointed. The sushi was so blank and lack of flavors. The price was high with a small of portion. Their price has already changed but they didn’t want to change the menu’s price. They keep the old price in the menu. And in the menu there is no pictures at all for customers to see what they want to order. I think they should change the menu and the price for customers to see.
**Forced 20% Tip Spoils the Experience** I visited Yuki and was shocked to find they *force* customers to pay a 20% tip after tax when paying cash (I already tip 15%). The food was good, but it’s frustrating that gratuity is mandatory, especially since menu prices seem to be raised by 20–30% already. While I usually support local businesses, I can’t stand behind such a practice. Tips should reflect customer choice, not be imposed. Sadly, this policy ensures I won’t be returning to Yuki.
I used to come to this place pretty often even though they never remembered me. I used to like this place and recommend it to many of my friends. However, the recent visit was not that pleasant. Service was ok but not Michelin star service. However they charged us more than Michelin star dinner tips percentage for our lunch. First, nobody charged 20%+ tips for LUNCH for a party of 5. Second, you are not supposed to charge tips for tax. That’s like a 22%-23% tips of the food price. You just lost a loyal customer by adding a few more bucks that’s not supposed to be added. It was LUNCH! Not planning to come back anymore! さよなら!
