Opinions de Dosa Hut Fremont
Absolutely great foods for your taste buds and tummy. We ordered combo C7 and C5. Both were great value for money. And the poori 100/10. Soft, fluffy and not at all oily. Quick service but the ambience was average. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a good south Indian breakfast.
I love this place. It is open all day, they have good options for good south Indian food at reasonable prices. They serve quick. It's our go to place for quick serve south Indian lunch or early dinner
Their chutneys and sambar is tasty. very nice upma and dosas. service is quick and courteous staff. Also love their filter coffee
The food was awesome, heavenly, stupendous piping hot and sizzling. The Butter Masala Dosa arrived with that perfect golden arrogance — crackling crisp outside, soft and yellow masala inside, tasting like someone in the kitchen actually cares. One dunk into the coconut chutney and you know resistance is futile. Pair it with their filter coffee and suddenly “just a snack” turns into a spiritually satisfying meal. 😋☕
Food taste is good and authentic. Packing was neat and clean, dosa and chutneys were packed properly. Service was decent and staff were polite. Overall, a good experience.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Wonderful Experience at Dosa Hut! I went to Dosa Hut today and really had a nice experience. It was a little busy time, and I was waiting for my order. The white shirt guy saw me waiting and came with a smile. He greeted me so nicely and made sure my order was given quickly. Really liked his polite behaviour and the way he was handling customers so patiently even when the crowd was more. You can see he is very sincere and hardworking person. Food was very tasty as usual, and his service made the visit even better. Truly appreciate his effort. Must visit place for tasty food and good service!
Absolutely loved the dosa here! It was perfectly crispy and had amazing flavour !! just like what we get back home. The chutney and sambar were so fresh and tasty. The service was excellent, staff were very polite and made sure everything was served hot and on time. The overall experience was wonderful — truly one of the best South Indian restaurants in Fremont. Highly recommend this place to all dosa lovers!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We visited Dosa Hut in Fremont this morning and had a really good experience. The front desk staff was welcoming, and the receiving and service at the counter were smooth and well-organized. The hospitality made us feel comfortable right from the start. Definitely a nice place to start the day with good food and friendly service!
Amazing experience! We stopped by this dosa place and not only was the food absolutely delicious, but the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. We had a special request, and they accepted it without any hesitation. That level of care and hospitality made the meal even more enjoyable. The dosas were fresh, crispy, and flavorful — exactly what we were craving. Definitely recommend this spot for both the food and the excellent service! 10/10
In the busy Gateway Plaza of Fremont, this little South Indian restaurant was perhaps the only one before Idly Express and Mylapore caught the attention of foodies spreading customer traffic between the three. I’ve been here through many years, usually after an intense early morning hike at Coyote Hills and their food has always been consistently tasty. Dosa, vada, pongal, uppuma; especially the combos and different chutneys are a delight. You can’t go wrong with their Madras Coffee or Masala tea either. They also run specials especially for lunch. Order is usually ready in 10 minutes and prices have remained reasonable. Service has always been nice and easy. Catch a game of cricket on the tv while eating but beware of coming here 11-3 pm particularly on weekends when it gets quite tricky to find a ‘compact’ parking spot.
This place is a gold mine of bay area. If you are fond of South indian breakfast and haven't visited this place.. you are missing out on Michelin level taste. It's got a lot of parking and good resturants around along with cinemas. So def take time and order some combos. You will thank me later. Their waitress is super women. Kudos to her man. The place is a bit small but the food is out of the world. Iv been here almost every month. Definitely recommend this amazing authentic South Indian breakfast place. Btw their Dosa's are also great. Happy fooding folks. 👍🏻❤️🥳
Update 11/19/22 They started adding eggplant/ brinjal in sambhar. Now sambhar is very slimy. Does not taste as good as it use to be. You cannot request rasam instead of sambar. Peanut chutney is awful. Tomato chutney was better. Sambar could be better. Dosa and coconut chutney very good. Update 9/29/2022 They started adding eggplant/ brinjal in sambhar. Now sambhar is very slimy. Does not taste as good as it use to be. You cannot request rasam instead of sambar. 9/24/21 Ordered butter masala dosa with idli and vada. Butter masala dosa - was not cooked properly lot of uncooked lumps of dosa batter. Butter was not prominent. In Bangalore vidyarthi bhawan they put dollop of white butter on dosa. Sambhar was hot/spicy but lacked flavor and veggies today. Idili - it was cold. Tasted ok. Butter or ghee missing. Kind of dry. Vada - was hot and crispy from outside and light and fluffy inside. Vada pwasp the best dish. ************** Latest Ordered Andhra Kara Dosa with cofee. This was one of the spiciest dose i tried at dosa hut. Served with red chutney, coconut chutney and sambhar. Coconut chutney tasted fresh and sambhar was well spicy. Andhra Kara Dosa was quiet spicy but was balanced with less spicy potato filling. Please work on the cleanliness of the business. Food is good. *********(( Ordered Madurai Mali Dosa with filter cofee. Madurai Mali Dosa - Dose was good, flavorful and crispy. Green chutney inside dosa was pungent adding good heat and flavors to dosa. Aloo pallaya or potato malasa was good. It was less in chilli heat compared to Mysor Masala Dosa. Came with peanut chutney and coconut chutney. I like the flavor or coconut chutney. Sambhar had a quite a heat to it. Tasted really good. Filter coffer was good. They need to work on the cleanliness and organization of the restaurant. Its kind of disorganized and unclean.
Ambience is okayish. Service was good. They have unique tiffin combos. The combos are must try. Parota, mini idly, dosa and poori were decent. They have thalis for a cheap price with good varieties.
Dosa Hut is a small nostalgic dosa corner. The Combo C2 is my favorite—it’s a perfect mix of dosa, idly, and vada served with flavorful sambar and chutney. Everything in the combo is fresh and tasty. The chai is good. The staff here are polite, though the cleanliness of the place could be improved for an even better experience. Dosa Hut is still worth a visit for its authentic flavors!
We ordered a combo, chapati and gongura dosa. The taste was amazing especially Vada and sambar 👏👏 . This is a small and cute shop and will give you some nostalgic moments. The flavors were fantastic. This eatery is in prime spot and gets crowded very easily so expect delays. For us the Gongura dosa took forever 😤.
So We have ordered from this place a couple of times now Service : Phone order experience: Has been good. They take the orders promptly and food is ready on time. I rate it 4/5 Atmosphere : this give you a local Bangalore Darshini type of feels. Small space , usually full on weekends. The only reason I give 3/5 is I am not sure how clean the place is. Now the important part the Food 3/5 Ordered C7 combo and the first time they packed masala inside the dosa making it soggy and when I requested this time they packed it separately but then Dosa was average. We also tried Rava Masala Dosa which again was average. So far our experience has been average at best.. price POV a bit on high side when u compare the price.
I have been to this spot several times, it's the perfect spot for dosa before a movie next door. However the enitre experience this time around was just ok. Not sure if it was the eye rolls of the person bringing the food out to the table when I asked for more chutney, or the guy at the counter taking the order who decided to take the person who was behind me first, the vibe was not welcoming. I enjoy watching the food being prepared fresh, would hope it was a bit cleaner, especially if it's an open kitchen. The dosa was room temperature, seemed like it was sitting for a while before it came to the table. The Combo plate was decent. The chutney was not bad, but the consistency very loose. Not sure if I'll be going back anytime soon...
I’ve tasted almost every item that’s available here other than some rice stuff . It’s a decent, cost friendly South Indian themed restaurant with very limited dine inn area. Food available here are full n full vegetarian stuff. I won’t say the food is delicious but they all taste good. This place is moderately crowded during weekdays and heavily crowded during weekends. If you are planning to visit this place during weekends better be prepared for some waiting to get seated. Paratha is my favorite especially the kurma and raitha that comes with it . Below are some of my clicks from this restaurant
It's a hole in the wall place so we didn't have too much expectation. We ordered poori, a masala dosa combo, bisibelebath, and a Thali. The good. The Thali was only $10 and the portion was great. Bisibelebath was not necessarily authentic, but it was good. Pooris were huge. The bad The potato masala for the poori was bland. We adjusted the salt but still no luck. The dosa was not crispy, which was disappointing in a restaurant called Dosa Hut. The chutneys were cold. The BBB was served with papad and pickles, and the papad was premade and cold. I asked for another one, but even that one was cold and kerchief-like.
Tried their Rava masala dosa, Andhra Kara masala dosa, punugulu and madras coffee. Both the dosas were not at all crispy and the masala had no flavor. Dosas became soggy quickly. The Sambar and chutneys lacked flavor, almost bland. The punugulu was crispy but again lacked flavor and salt. Madras coffee tasted like coffee out of a machine and not filter coffee. The place was stuffy as it has an open kitchen and I don’t think the a/c was switched on.
I visited this store today morning around 8:45 AM (as confirmed by the timestamp on the video I recorded), and the experience was extremely upsetting. The receptionist at the front desk behaved in a completely disrespectful manner—he shouted at me in front of other customers and used unprofessional language. Several customers who witnessed the incident also acknowledged that the behavior was entirely his fault. When I asked to speak with the manager, he falsely claimed to be the manager, even though it was clear that he was not. His behavior was aggressive and abnormal, and it could easily become a threat to other customers in the future if not addressed. I have also seen him working at the neighboring store, Zaitoon, which raises concerns about his role and responsibilities here. I would like to speak directly with the rightful owner of this store regarding this incident. I have recorded the situation on my mobile, and I believe the store cameras would clearly show what happened as well. This is one of the best Indian stores for delicious breakfast and lunch, and I have always appreciated the food. But because of this individual's illiterate and arrogant behavior, the store’s standards and the owners’ reputation are being damaged. I sincerely hope management takes immediate action to protect the store’s dignity and ensure customers feel safe and respected. He seems to be a student here, and although I have video and photos, I have chosen not to upload them publicly as it may cause trouble for him.
I had a disappointing experience at your restaurant today. I ordered korma with puri, but it was completely tasteless. When I politely requested to replace it with channa, the staff refused and said I would have to pay an additional $10. The way it was handled felt rude and disrespectful, as if we were trying to get free food rather than simply asking for a meal we could actually enjoy. We were paying customers and expected better customer service and understanding. It’s unfortunate because we came to enjoy a nice meal, but left feeling unwelcome. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves customer service and food quality.
