The best ice cream I've had! And a giant serving for the waffle cone’s! Great selections of ice cream and coffee. Will be visiting everytime we come back to French Lick!
Amazing little ice cream shop. We stopped in for a quick treat but stayed a while after seeing the room of table games. Great idea! Cool little place! Will definitely put on my must visit again list!
My husband and I had the cake batter ice cream and cherry chocolate almond (the title maybe rearranged) ice cream on waffle cones; delicious. The staff were friendly and even answered our touristy questions about the area.
Stopped in while down town. Friendly people. Was able to sample what we wanted to try. Some different flavors that I hadn't seen before. Ended up getting the blackberry cobbler. Very good!
Such a lovely place. So family friendly! Games and activities on each table. The barista was amazing and so sweet. Out of this world ice cream and coffee. French Licks has became a family tradition for our travels to French lick.
Ice cream is made just down the road. Great flavors and tastes great. Great little shop with lots of great coffee and soda options and the service is always fantastic. Definitely worth a stop in!!
The ice cream was delicious and creamy. We tried the peppermint with brownie fudge, and banana walnut with brownie fudge. Both combinations worked well together.
Pizza cooks quick and it’s a great meal while adventuring! Delicious!
Staff very friendly, great decor and store. Good selection of ice cream and coffee drinks. Most of all one of the cleanest, nicest public restrooms I have ever encountered. Highly recommend it.
What a great little place! Ice cream was excellent and the staff was wonderful. We did a little shopping after eating also… lots of interesting stuff to browse!
Ice cream chips n dip was incredible. Warmed up cookie with ice cream.
We just had the ice cream and it was incredible! Great little place in a great location. Well worth the visit and walk around the area.
Always great ice cream! I had 2 dips of pecan pie! Yum yum!
Coolest little place with the wood carving store attached. Good ice cream, coffee, and atmosphere. Both women working were delightful to talk to.
Much better than the other generic sport's bar/american redneck "restaurants" in town. Friendly staff, blazing fast service, and perfect kid friendly environment.
Tried there coffee and pizza and wow both was amazing ! Very impressed with the quality, service and reasonable prices. Keep up the good work!
The pizza was great, the service was great and we loved the atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
We loved the unique ice cream flavors. We'll be sure to visit next time we come through!
Great place to get old fashion ice cream with a twist. Fantastic pizza can also be had with a variety of toppings.
Surprisingly good pizza! Fun flavors of ice cream. Love the decor.
Great place for the family to visit. I found the staff friendly and their ice cream was delicious. I will be visiting this place again when I go back.
Great spot and ice cream was a 7.9/10! Loved all the carvings from Bear Hollow next door
Loved the fresh squeezed lemonade, I heard a patron ask for special milk and they were able to accommodate, they are an ice cream parlor and drink shop, I forgot to take pics
Ordered 2 Choose Your Own Fate pizzas & some chocolate mousse ice cream. Liked it all. Crust is thin and square cut could use some crust flavoring of that is what the garlic and oil is but no description. Liked the sausage. Anise hint. Super nice staff. Large dining area in back. Online ordering...Struggled w taking credit card entry but finally got it right... could have been Google wallet.
If you are looking for a unique, fun place to grab a sandwich, burger or cool down with an ice cream cone....than you will definitely want to plan a visit here! The friendly staff will be happy to serve you!!
This is the perfect little vacation stop in a cute little alley of shops and diners. The pizza was SO good! I ordered 3 gluten free ones and one regular. The spinach, onion, red pepper, bacon and beef one with light red sauce and garlic butter may have been the best pizza I've ever had. It doesn't look like much,, but they are GOOD. The worker was super nice and the ice cream was great too. The kids had fun with the games while waiting on the pizzas.
The ice cream is wonderful. Coffee, taste like coffee! Not syrup with a dash of coffee on top. Atmosphere has good there's always something for the eyes to examine, books and things for kids to enjoy. I always find myself staring at the Elvis statue that looks like it's been hit in the head with a golf ball, amazing work.
The kids were happy with their ice cream and my Irish coffee was perfect! Great place for the whole family to hang out and enjoy
I asked the staff to surprise me and make me a latte. And she did just that. Made me a delish latte to get me back home.
French Licks is a fun pizza and ice cream shop. Pizza is good and they have a good variety of ice cream. Fun decor and great service!
The smell of bbq and treats hits you as you enter the establishment. While walking through Bear Hollow Store, you're surrounded by wood carvings and special gift shop type items, all you can think about is the yummy food that's calling!
We were visiting French Lick and this place was recommended to us for a great scoop of ice cream - and that it was! We enjoyed the pecan pie, pumpkin spice, and butter pecan flavors, and the homemade waffle cone was absolutely delicious! Light, crispy, and perfectly sweet! Service was good, and the shop was cute. A definite must when you are in town!
Came here for the ice cream and was not disappointed. The staff was friendly and allowed us to sample many different flavors until the kids found one they liked. It does get very busy right before closing time, especially on the weekends.
We ordered a pizza and it was amazing!!! The price was amazing too. They were so busy with everyone ordering ice cream, but I had ordered online. Just had to wait my turn. Staff was so friendly. As soon as I walked in the door I received a smile even though she was busy. Definitely will be going back.
Highly recommend!! This place totally took me by surprise. We stopped in for a coffee and spent an hour in the store before we ever made it in the coffee/ice cream/pizza... The drinks we got were wonderful. They were busy but the staff was very engaged and friendly. Went back the next day and was equally impressed by the consistency of the drinks and the service. It is our new go to place for coffee and ice cream.
This place is super cute! The staff were friendly and took care of our order perfectly. The pizzas are thin crust with good quality toppings. Will be back.
Love the atmosphere, kids loved their pizza. The gluten free crusts were awesome! Great texture.
Was a Very Crowded Day Our Pizza Was Awesome Crust Was Delicious n Unbelievable Cooked To Perfection n Even As Crowded Didnt Take Long to Get Our Order of 6 Pizzas Two Orders of Bread Sticks n Drinks We’ll Be Back n Spread The staff attitude was great, unlike moo moo steakhouse
We actually didn't eat anything here. We went to check out Bear Hollow which is attached. The atmosphere was wonderful! Very family friendly. They have tons of fun wood carvings to check out. The back part of the store has lots of tables, games, books, etc set up.
Nice place, good food & service, and great beer! Who knew loaded baked potato and jalapeno popper pizza would be so good. I recommend the loaded potato pizza, very cheesy!
The sorbet was fantastic. Love how the shops and museum are all connected.
The prices are a bit high but with the flavors of evwrything... It is so worth it. I got a chicken bacon ramch pizza and a pretzel stick. I split it with my husband. The pizza is pretty small. But it will fill you up! The bacon tasted so fresh the cheese was so thick and tasty and the chi Ken was great. I have no complaints. Nothing negatice to say. It was amazing!
Homey store with beautiful works of art. Delicious ice cream. Amazing wood carvings around the shop and in the store attached. Very friendly to kids. Has different games sitting around for kids and adult. A nice place to hang out. Offers many other nice things to buy and drink
I'm a regular at this place! The ice cream and coffee are great and now have a 21+ section to try, they also serve pizza in the back room. Really good and recommend highly!!
Stopped for coffee. Wonderful little place.
Pizza was amazing and service top notch!! A must stop place to eat.
The ice cream was very good and the price was reasonable.
Cute little pizza and ice cream shop. Great food and fast service. Loved the items inside for sale by local artists.
Great made to order pizza and drinks, Irish coffee and boozy root beer float are favorites. Serve beer, vodka Seltzers, coffee, shakes and ice cream as well.
What a great little place! We had the best pizza in town! We also loved the fun holiday drinks and ice cream specials. Staff was friendly, quick, and hardworking. Please note: this shop is small!! Come ready to be patient for a table. It's worth the wait!
French Licks Ice Cream & Restaurant isn’t just a pit stop—it’s destination dining with a hometown vibe. The pizzas are a surprise standout: fast, fresh, and wildly creative. The Loaded Baked Potato, Jalapeño Popper, and Cheeseburger pies are personal favorites, but honestly, you can’t go wrong. The pretzels are soft, salty perfection, and the specialty drinks? Absolute fire. Then there’s the ice cream—rich, creamy, and worth the trip all on its own. The Dark Chocolate Cherry Almond is my #1 pick, but I haven’t had a bad scoop yet. Grab a root beer float or a lemon shake-up if you’re feeling classic. Tucked right next to the museum and walkable to shops and Larry Bird’s old hangouts, French Licks is the kind of place where locals and visitors mingle over great food and even better desserts. Honorable mention goes to their great coffee and espresso—perfect if you need a pick-me-up before strolling over to the French Lick Resort. If you’re in town, make it a priority stop.
Taco Pizza was amazing. We didn’t care for the loaded potato but that was just our taste. Expresso martini was great. Staff was nice. Appreciated the “board” games to play.
Absolutely loved this spot! The milkshake was a perfect 10/10—creamy, flavorful, and exactly what I needed to cool off during the summer. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, and the whole place was spotless. The location is great, connected to several nice stores, making it a perfect stop during a shopping trip. Parking was a breeze too. I’ll definitely be back!
This is an awesome spot that I'd definitely go back to. We got ice cream and coffee that was good. The food we saw looked awesome so if my passing by again I'm definitely gonna make a stop. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect inside but it's for a little restaurant in back of the café with decent looking menu. The two working were very nice and helpful.
I love this restaurant! They have so many fun ice cream flavors, boba tea, and great coffee. The ice cream is actually some of the best I have ever had. I could and have eaten it all day. The pizzas come in one size but they are also the best too with fresh toppings. My husband gets the buffalo chicken pizza all the time. I have family from Iowa who always have to get the margherita pizza and loaded baked potato pizzas every time they visit.
First of all: Great place for kids! Nice booths, lots of children’s books and decorations that they loved, and an excellent staff. Second: for those with gluten sensitivities, they have the best gluten-free crusts that we have found. I usually loath them, but they were delicious…I highly recommend the chicken bacon ranch!
We have been to French Lick IN twice now and always stop here. Absolutely love the food and found a love for the S'mores frappe. I had actually taken a really hard fall in Bear Hollow, spilled said coffee all over, knocked something over, got coffee on myself, bruised myself up pretty good during it all. The ladies came rushing over to help, got me ice for my busted up knee, offered to replace my coffee, and helped me clean up with no hesitation. Love this place.
Let's start with the best part: the name. It's punny and I love it. After dinner in French Lick, ice cream was a must stop. They have around 10 flavors and a lot of them are really unique. We got cake batter, pecan pie, and peanut butter and jelly. Of the three, peanut butter and jelly was definitely my favorite. It had actually jelly in it and it was really good. Of all of the places we went in French Lick, this was my favorite. If you're in the area, I definitely recommend stopping by!
Awesome / AMAZING spot! A must visit if you’re in French Lick! The ice cream and espressos were a little rich for my taste, but the atmosphere is awesome and the staff are super friendly! They had fun games, awesome carvings, a corner dedicated to Larry Bird and more! Lots of fun things to see and do. And next door is a great place to stop and grab a souvenir before you head home!
Ice cream was good 👍 Flavors were strong in a good way. We didn't try their food. Outdoor seating is limited
They had some funny magnets and t-shirts. I bought a t-shirt for my daughter sending it to Florida. We bought some of the s*** spices and can't wait to try those. Typically a little higher priced items in the store but a nice store overall.
They have ice cream, boba tea, and pizza. Their pizza is 1 size and thin crust only.
This is a fun place to visit. The connections with the museum and wood carvers makes it even more ideal. The ice cream is great. I went three times the week I was in town. The reviews for the pizza and Sammie were good, too. The ice cream was the reason for my visit, though.
Pizzas, calzones, and pretzels were good. Could definitely use an upgrade on the nacho cheese. Games are fairly expensive, at least $1 per game, so minimum of $2 per round if you are taking 2+ kids, it adds up fast. We did not do the bowling alley, as it is $50/hour, when it is $20 right next door in Paoli.
We went two times during our stay in French Lick. The first time was for pizza. They were about to close but quickly got our pizza order ready so we could take it to go. The pizza was fair to good but they are much smaller than we expected. For our family one pizza would feed one to two people. The ice cream was delicious. We also really enjoyed the store next door with wood carving and gifts.
The lady that took our order was friendly and helpful. Our pizzas, breadsticks, and Bosco sticks were ready pretty quickly and the Bosco sticks were so good! Wish more than 2 came in an order... There's a few games on the tables and neat wood carving decor. The only downsides here are that it was a little pricey and only thin crust for the pizzas.
A really interesting building filled with Bear Hollow carvings, this little store packs a surprisingly good pizza!
We ordered 3 pizzas and a big salad. The salad was well worth it! The pizzas reminded me of Azzip, about 10 inch personal pizzas, even sliced the same. Baked potato pizza didn’t have much flavor. Chicken bacon ranch was good. Cheeseburger was meh.
Fun place to visit. The ice cream and coffee aren't bad either.
Very fun and unique place. Ice cream was fabulous! Walk around the store next door there is wood carved pieces made with a chain saw. Very interesting and fun place.
The pizza is all thin crust, but I didn't realize that meant they were pulling a store-bought crust out of bag. It was pretty similar to cardboard. The atmosphere was lovely, though. There was only one TV, and it was showing a short film on Larry Bird. The ice cream was good.
We stopped here twice during our short stay in French Lick. We tried a variety of the pizzas to share between friends. They were all very good. The next day we came back to try ice cream and milk shake. A cute little place with friendly staff, good pizza, and yummy ice cream treats.
Meh. It was ok. The ice cream is ice cream. The servers didn't interact - I don't even remember being greeted or thanked. Way overpriced for what you get. Next time I'll go to JayC instead.
I just thought it was weird a pizza shop a wood carving shop and an ice cream parlor 3 different rooms but not really.
Posting a picture of their Margherita pizza. As you can see, there is NO fresh basil as they posted on their picture for advertisement. The crust was premade and not good.
The food was fantastic but God forbid you have to ask the staff a question. One of the younger gals was super sweet but the tall older blond woman is rude. I asked a simple question about a smoothie I ordered and was told “I don’t have enough hands to carry it all. It’s coming.” Without tourist, your business wouldn’t be there.🤷🏻♀️
I was excited for ice cream, but once I got the the counter it felt I was an inconvenience to staff. Maybe they need people who enjoy their jobs. Ice cream was good, but the waffle cones are very brittle and break in your hand. All three of us had same issue. If you’re craving ice cream or coffee this is the place for u.
Went here in April 2021. Maybe things have changed since then, but the pizza I got was honestly one of the worst I've ever had, in terms of both taste and texture. The attached photo doesn't fully capture it, but it comes close. Ice cream was okay, though I can't remember which flavors I got. -------------- In response to the business owner's reply: I visited on April 18, 2021 and got a pizza and Bosco Sticks. I can assure you that you did indeed make pizzas at that time. I have both the photos of the food and the credit card transaction. It was $15.91 for the pizza and Bosco Sticks and the CC merchant was "FRENCH LICKS". (I also got ice cream for $5.62 shortly later).
Staff at the counter acted like we were an inconvenience. No smile, no greeting, and no thank you. I ordered a one scoop cone. After one lick, the cone shattered and fell on the floor. They watched me clean it up with napkins. I was expecting an offer for a new cone, so when I didn’t get one, I prompted a replacement by telling them that I dropped my ice cream and they may need to use cleaner. She just looked at me and said fine. I was still not offered a replacement.
White Russian didn’t have much vodka in it. Ice cream had an additional flavor in it and they wanted to charge for another scoop. Not my choice for the money they charge.
Yes They give samples, but after getting a scoop of pumpkin pie ice cream it had alot of crust.. I took 3 bites I told them I didn't care for it could I switch for another and they said no.. yes I get the point, but 3 bites was taken and the lady was rude... we spent alot on this trip so I wasn't asking for free, just something I wanted..
Ice creams and pizzas are delicious but I've personally watched them make 2 different employees at 2 different times cry unnecessarily and should be ashamed of joe they make others look and feel.
Please do not come here for the service or the pizza, because both are seriously lacking. Having just drove 2 hours, we stopped here to grab dinner due to the deceptively good reviews, however we were greeted with no service and literally saw no one for a good 5 minutes. Once our order was taken and our pizza arrived, it was 100% tasteless cardboard. I'm not even sure how they can call this "pizza". Please save your $ and go elsewhere.
I can honestly say, as a true, dedicated, life-long lover of pizza that this was by far the worst pizza of my life. This bypasses the last resort tortilla pizzas I made as a child in the microwave. The crust reminded me of cardboard and the toppings were flavorless. The flies in this establishment were absolutely horrendous. I sat for 15 minutes and in the time saw at least 20 flies. They were incessant and kept landing on absolutely every inch of food and drink. I had to go sit in the ice cream shop next door to finish my drink and avoid the flies. Service was decent. They do sell buckets of beer which is nice. I can’t speak as to the ice cream/coffee portion of the shop though which were cute. If you plan to make a pit stop for pizza/food, I’d recommend going somewhere else.
We’ve been going here for pizza and ice cream since they started selling pizza. We’ve absolutely loved it…. Until recently. On three different occasions now, we’ve went and not been greeted when we come in and it seems like we are an inconvenience. I can tell from past reviews, the owner is going to defend their employees behavior. We typically don’t have any issues with the younger girls. They are always very nice, however the older dark haired employees isn’t friendly & makes it seem like we aren’t supposed to be there. At this point, I’m not sure if we’ll continue coming in. It’s been a very uncomfortable feeling the last few times we’ve been in.
