Mike's Grill

Got the tri tip as always. One of the best in Fresno. Sauce is served in containers (2) on the side. You can put on what you want or not. Or just dip it (my preference.) There are two picnic tables under a shade canopy. Each table is probably good for eight people. There is also a bar with four stools on the side of the building. The seating is all outdoors.

First time customer and greeted with a smile and a friendly hello. Had driven by various times for years and never sampled the tri-tip. Today, was thee day and it did not disappoint! Loved the tri-tip sandwiches tenderness and the flavor was on point. The bbq sauce was the best I've had. The sides: pilaf and chili beans were both flavorful. Will be a returning customer.

A friend of ours told us about this place. They said look for hut. It wasn't a hut more like a large shed all by itself. The tri-tip sandwich combo comes with a side and drink. The tri-tip is on sesame seed garlic butter bread with several strips of meat and BBQ sauce on the side. Sandwich is yummy! Great balance of meat to bun ratio.. Cost about $11 for the combo. Service was fast, but there was only two people in line. As we sat there more and more people showed up and it seemed fairly fast. Tried the chili as our side and it was delicious. Good balance of beans and meat. I didn't take any pics because I ate before taking a pic. Whoops!

Ordered the tri-tip sandwich with rice pilaf and beans for sides also pulled pork sandwich. I had the pulled pork and it was delicious. Mikes Grill is a food hut. No place to dine in unless you sit in your car. Plenty of parking. Friendly and fast service.

Best Tri Tip sandwich in town I think! Been to Dickie's, Todd's, Ma and Pa's and some others. One major problem though. They will not let you taste the sides to see if you like them. Potato salad is always a taste first item since many business make it with vinegar.

The tri-tip has the perfect amount of smoke and it is so tender. Pulled pork sandwich is loaded with meat and the dipping sauce is wonderful. If you want a great sandwich on a great roll that's the place to go

The tri tip is extremely good. Plenty of of taste that'll leave your mouth watering but the bread takes the cake. I'm almost positive it's a garlic bread and it just makes the entire sandwich taste amazing.

My husband had the fried chicken sandwich and our grandson polished off a half pounder with no sweat. The fries and onion rings are solid and delish. Staff is relaxed and friendly! 1st time here and it definitely won't be the last! I got the jumbo tri tip sandwich Small chili beans & small rice pilaf. Everything tasted amazing. The sandwich was so good I didn't even have to add bbq sauce but I did just to see how good the sauce is.

Every now and then you find a place that really you weren't looking for but serves really good food. Rather than go to the fast food chain down the street we stopped at Mike's grill for some tri-tip and Pilaf . Excellent meal, they do serve with barbecue sauce if you want it I frankly don't need it because it tastes that good. We ordered the tri-tip special that includes the pilaf and get such a nice helping that were able to have two dinners out of it. They also have the tri-tip so you can order it by the pound if you want. They have all the fixings for your next barbecue and it's all done for you. Update: tried the pulled Pork with coleslaw & bbq sauce - excellent

Mike's has one of the tri tip sandwiches here in the Fresno area! Very friendly service! You get food very quickly and it's always fresh!

A few friends have recommended this place for Tri-Tip Sandwiches. I tried it and it was good. The beef is served on a garlic toasted bread. The bbq sauce seemed like a generic Restaurant Depot BBQ sauce, though. Everything else was good.

The Tri Tip sandwich was great. I would definitely recommend it. However, the Frito Bowl was so disappointing. A meager portion that was less than creative or appeasing.

Decent tri-tip, the sides and bread roll were delicious. We are limited to BBQ locations in the area, this one being a better option. Not quite as good as dog house but still great. They are limited on tri-tip per day so go early. Pretty quick service and plan to eat at another location or at the pop up tables under a tent.

Bread on my sandwich was burnt and could not eat it . Yes I ate the tri tip is was delicious but wanted it in the sandwich but had to eat it without bread due to cook burning it . Good question to ask if would you eat this ?

The chicken was smoked on Cherry Wood so has a nice flavor. The tri tip was okay. I didn't taste a lot of flavor but the way the meat is sliced makes for easy eating. I love the convenience of their preparation so that gives them 3 stars and they get you in and out. Not the long wait you usually expect from a bbq spot. Business wise they do okay. Food wise just meh for me. They do have a steady steam of customers so they have a following. If you want to eat on site there are nice tables and chairs set up but a lot of flies fighting for that good food so keep your items closed until you are ready to consume. I didnt take a pic of the tri tip or chicken. The hotlink got my vote for things I would order again. Had a little kick to it. I ate the other half as you can see but thought I'd share a quick pic.

I gave in to the hype after reading all the reviews and decided to give them a try. I went there today and ordered one jumbo and one regular tri-tip sandwich with a side of chili beans and a coke. When I got my order finally, I glanced in the bag and they forgot one of the sandwiches. I told her right then and there. The girl went back inside and said here you go, sorry I left it on the counter (you think). Then, I advised her I had a coke as well. She said he didn’t give it to you at the window? (as I’m standing there with nothing in my hands) and told her no. She said to meet her at the window and she gave me my drink. For such a small order I don’t get how they can screw up that easy. So, I get home ready to dig in and noticed there was no bbq sauce in the bag (you got to be kidding me)! So there goes another star. The food was ok at best. The sandwich tasted a little salty to me but still edible. My jumbo didn’t look that much bigger than my wife’s regular sandwich. The chili beans tasted like they came out of a can and not home made. Over all the service and attention to detail sucked. The food ok. Nothing out of this world to drop everything and go out your way to eat here. I’m also not of a fan of the small menu. Mike’s grill should change the name to Mike’s Tri Tip, that’s basically all they have to offer.

The bread and the meat is great for the tri tip, but the there was barely one slice of meat I've been looking at photos of past sandwiches, prices gone up and portions are WAY SMALLER don't be cheap it's not worth the money anymore. :(

I was told by several staff members my card would not be accepted as they do not sell the gift card (Mikes Grill Gift card) I was using. The staff took my information, took photos of the gift card and told me the owner would be in touch (he never reached out). Here is my issue. If you are going to sell gift cards and not honor them, put a disclaimer on the back stating the rules. Selling gift cards then not honoring them is a scam.

This tri-ip taste & quality has gone down greatly! I spent $34:on 2 tri-tip sandwiches & a cup of chili beans. The meat tasted weird, like if was old. We ate half sandwiches & threw the rest away. So expensive & not good. Will not ever return.

Went in on Friday 31st 2025 ordered tri-tip sandwiches and found hair in it, I called and she told me that they don’t wear hair nets and next time just take a picture of it smh didn’t apologize or anything will not return

Not a fraction of what it used to be. The bread itself is the same, but there used to be 4x more butter and garlic on it. Would be like eating a tri tip sandwich with two pieces of garlic bread, it was great. Now you cant taste the butter or garlic whatsoever, and its visibly not there either. The tri tip itself has completely changed as well. Its not bad but its not good. It tastes like roast beef in flavor and with how thick it is. Used to be much thicker pieces of tri tip. They also dont make your sandwich to order anymore, they prepare them ahead of time and when you order you just get served it. Quickness is nice but it makes it taste not fresh at all. Like gas station food. Only thing that seems to be the same are the prices and the bbq sauce lol. Very disappointing. Im assuming its under new ownership or something. Won't be coming back.
