I have to say this is a first for Peruvian food, and I am not disappointed at all. The dishes and the way the ingredients and flavor blends are phenomenal. I'm excited to come back and try another dish. They have a good special called "Taste of Peru" which includes a starter, an entree, and a drink. And the Aji sauce tops it all off. No matter what nationality you are the dishes here will make you feel like it's home. Enjoy!
Very good first impression of this interesting Peruvian place! Its has an upscale feel to it and there are a variety of Peruvian dishes on offer. I had to go with the ceviche. I got the trio sampler with the three different flavors they have. Flavor was good, seafood seemed fresh and the dried and fresh Peruvian corn were unique. I value simple quality ingredients that are allowed to shine and this dish delivered. But the star of the night was the humble bread pudding. I recommend getting it with the icecream, they pair so well. Creamy, caramel and whiskey flavors abound, not too sweet but definitely satisfying. And the Peruvian beer was pretty darn tasty too!
This restaurant is a true gem. With all of the generic dining establishment in the area, it is so nice to have a unique, ethnic, dining experience. The waitress was very knowledgeable and knew every detail about all if the food. She gave us a comprehensive view of what Peruvian food should be. Based off of what we learned through all of our questions, we made some incredible choices. I regret not getting more pictures of the selections we made. Everything we ordered was to die for. It all was rich with flavor and hearty and filling. This restaurant is a stand alone dining treasure that should be on everyone's list of new places to eat
Never judge a book by it's cover. This place is definitely a gem, especially considering where it's located. The food is amazing and flavorful, and the sangrias go down very easily. Señor Aji offers a great variety that surely will make your taste buds happy, and there are plenty of options even for the picky eaters.
This is a little treasure in Fresno. I fell in love with La Comida Peruana in California and this restaurant just further deepened the love. The cerviche is gorgeous, and I appreciate that they can modify the spice level for you. The quinoa salad is healthy and tasty (excellent option for vegetarian folks), everything else is also yummy and to top it off, staff is gracious and warm. We'll definitely be back again
Peruvian food is my favorite South American cuisine. This place hands down is the best Peruvian in Fresno. I have been trying different dishes every time I stop here and so far they haven’t disappointed. Small place but on point. Had Lomo de Pescado, and empanadas appetizer, noodles with chicken, and margaritas. Try to go there on their happy hour 5-7 pm weekdays.
This is a great place for date night, to hang out after a day's work in the office, or even just to meet up with a friend. All the cocktails I've tried (especially the mules) have been pretty great. If you're going for the first time, do yourself a favor and get the delicious Lomo Saltado. It is definitely one of the best dishes they have on the menu. It's one of Peru's most popular dishes for a reason!
Absolutely amazing!! Felt like I was in the Bay Area or LA! I highly recommend! Service phenomenal, food outstanding!! Will definitely be back!
The food is amazing!! , best Peruvian food in town!! We really love the meat empanadas, fish tiradito, aji de gallina 👌 and the seco de carne! This’s our favorite restaurant in Fresno !!
My husband and I tried out this restaurant for dinner and were happily surprised. Everything we ordered was outstanding as was the service. Our server happily explained about the dishes. The only negative is that the restaurant was a little warm for my liking. We will definitely return and look forward to trying more new dishes.
Oh my, this place is AMAZING! The food is absolutely incredible. The craft cocktails, awesome (the old-fashioned is insane, even has their pepper logo in the ice cube), desert is delectable! The staff is awesome, and the restaurant is extremely clean, even the restrooms! We love this place and will absolutely be back!
It you want authentic robust flavors this is the place!! We also appreciated the excellent service! Definitely coming back if I visit Fresno again 🥰.
First time being here, it was delicious. I tried the espresso martini was amazing. Food is so flavorful, I had the Lomo Saltado and tried the chicken empanadas. I will definitely be back to try the ceviche.
Wow! this is a must! Am back in Fresno, Ca. I found this restaurant in north side of town. It’s first class, the unique creamy sauces, mellow flavors, the freshness, and presentation, all in one plate. I love it! It is Delicious! You will not be disappointed, I will definitely be back to try another dish. Small, but such a relaxing atmosphere. Outstanding service, friendly staff, it’s a winner! Goes well with a cold beer 🤠
Wow 😨 we love it! We are from atlanta and was our first time in California. The food is good. The only thing I don’t like it was la papa a la huancaina it was cold . But the meat and sopa was so good
I loved this little taste of Peruvian cuisine. Most dishes have flavorful creamy sauces and the fried food tastes so fresh. No burnt oil flavors here, just crispy light taste. Service could be more cheerful, but they are busy cooking up great food! Don't forget to ask for more napkins and serving spoons to share all the entrees. They have you extra plates without asking. Their food is very shareable. Awesome Sangria too!
Delicious food and wonderful staff ! Update 9/2022: visited a few times over the past 3 years. The food appears to get better with every visit. Today I ordered the lomo saltado and it was delicious. It is on the saltier side but knowing that will give you a heads up to order some water on the side. Definitely a repeat dish.
Amazing true Peruvian food. Delicious and so good! The ceviche and fried fish with shrimp and rice were both 10/10! It’s a must try if you’re in Fresno or even in a near by city.
Truly enjoyed the authentic cuisine presented here. Very good flavors. We ordered too much food, but it was oh, so good!
LOVE THIS PLACE! The food is always good, and the servers are always attentive, kind, and welcoming. My husband and I have been here a few times, and we almost always get remembered from our last visit, so it is very welcoming and feels nice to have familiarity with the servers. The food is also DELICIOUS! It is consistent and never let's us down.
Best foods EVER!! Never tried Peruvian food, I’m hooked - WOW! 20 out of 10
It was my family’s and my first time trying Peruvian food, and it was an amazing experience! We started with the Empanadas Criollas (chicken and beef), and they were absolutely delicious. For drinks, we tried their homemade Chicha Morada, Guanabana, and Maracuya—so refreshing, especially right now in the summertime. For our main dishes, we had the Tacu Tacu Mar & Tierra—the fried banana added a flavor I had never tasted before and it was incredible. We also ordered the Churrasco a la Limeña, which was so flavorful—definitely a 10/10! To finish, we had the Señor Aji Bread Pudding, and it was out of this world—rich, unique, and full of flavor. On top of all that, the customer service was exceptional; we truly felt attended to with care and love. Highly recommend!
Food for the soul. Absolutely delicious, savory and full of flavor. The ceviche is citrusy, fresh and very clean. The Lomo Saltado is incredible, the meat cooked to perfection, melts in your mouth. The sauce in this dish is so full of flavor combining with the veggies and rice. Definitely coming back here and bringing friends and family.
📍Señor Aji Peruvian Kitchen – Herndon & Santa Fe, Fresno One of the few (if not only) Peruvian restaurants in Fresno, Señor Aji delivers bold, unforgettable flavors from both land and sea. My friends and I came hungry and left impressed—and almost too full. 🍤Pictured: 1️⃣ Arroz con Mariscos – A Peruvian-style paella packed with seafood and vibrant seasoning. 2️⃣ Lomo Saltado – Stir-fried beef sirloin, tender and flavorful with a satisfying mix of onions, tomatoes, and fries. Although I didn’t get photos of everything (too good to wait!), I highly recommend their skewer and ceviche appetizers. The chicken and beef heart skewers are juicy, well-seasoned, and kissed with smoky charcoal flavor. Their Ceviche Trio—with fresh raw fish and cooked shrimp—is marinated in three different sauces: non-spicy, mild, and spicy. Super fresh and vibrant. We were already half full after appetizers, but the entrées still held their own—generous, satisfying, and worth finishing. Don’t skip the Chicha Morada, a Peruvian purple corn drink that’s sweet, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. Must try restaurant in Fresno! Food is delicious and consistent every time. I really enjoy the beef heart, ceviche, and seafood dishes. Their chicha morada is refreshing as well! Overall, I feel like you can't go wrong with any of their offerings. Highly recommend.
I love the food here, in particular the Antipasto Pollo appetizer and beef loma saltada. Try the Inca Cola! The staff have always been very kind and accommodating.
It was perfect! My taste buds were dancing 💃 my whole personality was happy and so relaxed to have such a delicious cut of meat! 🥩 churrasco style with chimichurri and wedged potatoes with so much crisp and flavor!!!! I got what i paid for PURE BLISS!

I had spent some time in Latin America. This place brought back some fond food memories. I just love the flavors that they bring to their food. It so different from other cuisine. I had ordered the Tacu Tacu Mar & Tierra. This dish had a rice-bean fried cake. It is unlike anything that I’ve ever had. It was very tasty and it went very well with the beef and shrimp that it was served with. It also came with plantain and drizzled with a balsamic sauce reduction. It was so good and I highly recommend it. I then ordered the ceviche trio, this dish is really brings back the times that I spent in Ecuador. This dish was served with 3 different tasting ceviche, all so different with different heat factors. All were served with red snapper and shrimp. This dish is super healthy but full of those Latin flavor. There were many dishes on the menu that I will need to come back and try. I highly recommend and there isn’t too many places like this.
This was my second time trying Peruvian cuisine, and a huge step up from my first. The food was flavorful, the drinks were refreshing, and the service was warm and attentive. My only gripe: some guests who arrived after me were served more quickly, and the prices are on the higher side. Still, overall a great experience.
After visiting for years. I won’t return. The food was unbelievably cold. And the rest room temp. The quality was as if it was in the fridge and microwaved. Not worth the price. The aji verde was Pure green mayo. Far from authentic. The waitress was too pushy for appetizers and desserts and she kept sitting everyone right next to each other. So much so that one family request ti be moved. I was going to avoid posting this review but the ended up getting a little sick and the fries come up later that day. So that’s not good. $90 for two plates 2 drinks and upset stomach from cold food.
I’ve heard good reviews from friends about this place. I was near the area one day and I seen that served empanadas. I haven’t found a good spot yet in Fresno that sells good empanadas. So I have this place a try. 3 for $16 is a great deal for the size they are. I ordered the chicken on all 3. They were so delicious. The texture from the outside was crispy before you get to the deliciousness. Well seasoned and hearty. It also comes with a spicy sauce that compliments it with a nice kick. Pairs really well with it. I highly recommend these empanadas from Señor Ají. It was so delicious that I ordered another 3. Can’t wait to go back. It my new favorite spot for empanadas.

The staff was great. Friendly, and accommodating. The place is small so seating is not very comfortable. The food left a lot to be desired. This was the first time having Peruvian food and I was excited to try it. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. The chicken was tough and the beef was overcooked and probably got 4 strips for the $34 plate. The pasta was drowned in cheese and the jasmine rice was flavorless. We did enjoy the drinks.

With all honesty, this place has only a few dishes that taste good. The fish ceviche is always too salty and impossible to eat it. The anticuchos gave me a bad experience in the bathroom because it was not full cooked. The arroz causa is really plain. Arroz con pollo is too watery and salty. Lomo saltado has too much soy sauce. I can go on and on the dishes but all in summary ONLY VERY FEW DISHES ARE GOOD.
Whenever I go to a Peruvian restaurant I try not to have expectations however I do have a base of how a peruvian dish should taste like (I'm Peruvian) With that being said, I will share my thoughts about the 3 dishes we tried. Aji de gallina (4/5) it had a really good taste, not spicy at all. The rice was cooked 95% (this is how I like it) presentation was good. Arroz chaufa mushrooms (1/5) asked for a vegetarian option. The color of the rice was not the right one and with this comes the taste of it, not enough soy sauce for a dish that needs soy sauce it's crucial. They abuse the use of sesame oil, they can improve this dish. We had to talk to the waiter because it didn't taste anything like an Arroz chaufa. Tallarin saltado mushrooms (2/5) this time they use the right amount of soy sauce. However being this vegetarian and the price you pay for this dish, they could add more vegetables to this dish. Unfortunately we found a scallion that wasn't properly clean ( see picture) and again it was heavy with sesame oil. They could improve this dish as well. The price for this experience didn't meet the quality that you would expect. The service was good and friendly. They are looking for a new chef so hopefully they will improve.
