I have been going here for a long time, my favorite night is Wednesday, that's Karaoke night with Doug, we have a lot of fun, everyone makes you feel very welcome there.

Great place to spend an evening. Classic neighborhood bar. Great service and drinks. I don't understand these bad reviews talking about rude waiters and waitresses...they have neither.

It is just one big melting pot of people. A nice place to just hang out for a couple of hrs. Karaoke is I believe Sun. Wed. & Thurs. Loved hearing some old true country songs tonight. All different ages there. Pam sang a couple of songs....very pretty voice!

Been here about 10 times. Staff is great, beer is cold, and drinks are stiff. I am disappointed that so many people have marked this a racist establishment. There is always many people from all walks of life and all races when I go. If someone was kicked out, they probably deserved it and I can't imagine it was because of their race. Cheers.

I first visited The Brig in 2021. I went there with my girlfriend at the time and some of her female friends. I liked the inside because, having lived in the South Bay Area for eight years I'm used to the dive bar look. The doorman greeted me and was nice. The bartenders were friendly. It was clean and the atmosphere was a mix of laid back chill and wild energy. The people were nice. My girl informed me The Brig has a reputation for being a "meat market", which was true because The Brigg has A LOT of attractive women come through there always on the prowl. I had a few women stroll by my table openly flirt with when my girl wasn't around, took it as a compliment. Overall, I loved it there and go again and again.

Do you like wonderful, artisanal, and unique cocktails? Well then don't stop here! This is a real drinking bar! Karaoke on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday is some of the best in town! Bring your drinking buddies, pre-order an Uber, and pound down some Bud or Coors, they've got both!

Having been a patron of the brig for a few years I finally decided to go through all the reviews that have been posted on Google...... I find it interesting that every review that was a negative review showed up at exactly the same time my many people who have never been to this bar....... Two and a half years of going to this bar I have never seen the bartenders exhibit any type of racist Behavior I have taken black friends in there Latino friends and never ever have they ever had any type of racial incidents... If you want to go to a good bar with a friendly people.. pool,. Darts. And affordable well-made drinks this is the place.... As a local guide I would suggest ignore the negative reviews by people who have never stepped foot in this bar and come in and see for yourself!!!!

This is my neighborhood bar. It’s one of the oldest bars in fresno. I love this place because you never know what you’re going to walk into. Karaoke on Wednesday and Sunday is usually entertaining and you can count on a performance by the bartender. I’m not one for just sitting and drinking so I like that there are two pool tables, dice and hotspot. The place can close as early as 1 am if the bartender feels it’s not worth staying open. I get it as I’ve made the same call as a bartender. If you’re working alone you’re not inclined to sit around with the doors unlocked waiting for people who might straggle in at 1am. it means it’s not a dependable “last stop” for the night though. The inconsistency is why I dropped one star. *If you’re swing or overnight shift (or celebrating Sunderday) you may want to note that they start serving at 6am. *

♡My favorite place to go! Saturday nights are super busy and closes early. Really need 3 employees on duty at least. No matter what the diversity of people and music (karokee- juke box or d.j.) We always leave there with a smile.

This was a cute little dive bar. Ok on pricing and the pool tables were in decent condition. If you're looking to kill an hour or two, this is a good choice.

My original review is below and based on a visit about a month ago so if the owner wants to come on here and say that I'm reviewing but never visited the establishment, go for it but you would be a liar. I have just changed my review 3 stars to 1 after scrolling through and looking at the horrible responses by the owner. I will never go back to this place. My friend and I went here on a Thursday evening, we paid for our first couple of drinks with the cash we had and then we decided to stay longer so we ordered another, at which point we found out they only accept cash and the ATM wasn't working. That was after he had already served us additional drinks which we now had to pay for and I had to leave to go get cash. The others at the bar didn't know he was only taking cash either. Seriously, who doesn't accept debit cards these days!?

A good question here is what happened to the two Black ACLU lawyers. Instead of addressing what did or did not occur the owner brings up the BLM and social justice. Look Black folks. Spend your money with people who respect and value you. Don't patronize establishments that clearly aren't fond of Black people. I wasn't there but shouldn't the first order of customer service be to apologize for any confusion even if you feel the bar staff wasn't at fault.

If I could give less stars I would. I saw a waiter be extremely rude to one of a few black customers. Their drinks are always watered down and the waitstaff leave a lot to be desired, even for us white customers. Then I heard about how they kicked out those two black girls and that's very sad. I will never go back. I hope they get shut down!

I have read the reviews and will never, ever visit this nasty place. It's the beginning of a storm that will be brewing for some time, and these sorts of Trump-supporter racists will be attempting to circumvent the law by trying to ban people from their businesses across the country because of their skin color, their accent, their sexual orientation - you name it. It will get worse, and we need to make a stand against this UN-AMERICAN crap by announcing such policies to the public, and by voting with our wallets to put these places out of business.

First time in Fresno with some cousins. They took me to The Brig. Our waitress was rude and seemed preoccupied with a male waiter. My drink was watered done. So the waitress brought me another drink....it had hair in it. We got up to leave...no tip of course. We over heard the male waiter say "Dont look for a tip "they" never tip. I guess "they" meant blacks. Dont waste your time here

Some idiot Mexican guy told me to leave because I was wearing an 805 Brewery shirt. He asked me where I was from? He even asked my age? I am 61 yes old and I’m Hispanic as well, and was visiting this bar because of its friendly reviews. Wrong! Don’t wear an 805 shirt, I guess it represents a gang? Well I don’t , never have and never will but this sure blew my night. Bummer beware!

I noticed that the owners are responding to the 'racist' comments with, 'this person has never been here', but I can assure you, I've been several times for karaoke, and the one time I brought my black brother in law, the bartender literally came over to us and asked us to leave because he could tell we 'didn't have money'. When I went to the bar to complain, I basically got told to shut up and go somewhere else, that our business wasn't wanted, and that I should excuse the bartender for his blatant racist behavior because he was 'retiring'. I don't remember his name but he has a mullet haircut, hard to miss. Sad to see an ugly, ignorant tradition ruin what could be a truly great karaoke dive bar. To the owners, get with the times. You're alienating a group of good people trying to spend their money at your place. Grow up. Very unprofessional.
