Opinions de Longboard Bar Galveston
Very cool little tiki bar on Seawall. Great place to have a brew and enjoy the view of the Gulf! Staff were fun and gave us great service. Thank you! See you next time!
Great ocean view bar located steps from the beach. Swim-up pool side is accessible by hotel guests only, and well worth the stay. Great atmosphere, great views and live music. Gets crowded during the summer, especially weekends so plan ahead. Prices are somewhat reasonable, the scene is definitely worth it. Highly recommended.
Best place to get a drink right on the beach across the road from the beach. I don't know why anybody would not recommend this place.
This spot will definitely hook you up on their mix drinks.
Great service and great view of the seawall.
The best burger I have eaten at a restaurant in a while for the price. It was thick and juicy, the bun was delicious and it came with lettuce, tomatoes and bacon. The cucumber cooler was so refreshing and hit the spot. Shannon was awesome with the customer service. Enjoyed it and coming back.
Such a great atmosphere. The servers were are some, friendly and fun. The drinks were really good. Loved we could get margaritas to go. Our food order took a very long time, however the service we received made-up for that
Good drinks. Tom the bar tender was Great! Outstanding service! We stayed at the double tree for 5 nights! This place is impeccable! ! All the staff is great. They are on it at all times. We had one minor issue at the swim up bar Tyler, the food and beverage manager handled it so professionally. Even gave us a free shot. The food is also very very good!! All of the staff is awesome!
My parent's were down visiting us from Kansas and my Dad noticed this hut looking bar during our adventures down the seawall. We drove from the east on seawall down to the west on seawall and back to the easy when we finally found it. We went in found a table ordered our drinks and the rest is history. We ended up back here after dinner the next night for another round of drinks before heading home. Our server Ryan was working both nights and was extremely helpful and nice. Drinks were delicious and atmosphere is amazing. Longboat had now become our favorite hang out and will be visiting there more and bringing our family in anytime they visit from Kansas. Completely recommend to anyone.
Perfect location right on the beach front. Great staff and a large selection of local beers and cocktails.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Perfect Beach Vibes at Longboard – A Must-Visit in Galveston! We stopped by Longboard in Galveston and absolutely loved the experience! The laid-back surf shack atmosphere with an unbeatable ocean view made it the perfect place to unwind. The fried pickles were insanely good—crispy, tangy, and packed with flavor—and the beer was ice-cold, just what you want on a sunny day by the beach. Friendly staff, fun decor, and the kind of place that makes you feel like you're on vacation, even if you're just passing through. Can’t wait to come back for more food, drinks, and beachside relaxation. Highly recommend!
Really cool beach side bar, great drinks and fun atmosphere, if your staying at the double tree you can swim up to the bar and order. Drunken monkey was a good drink, you can order food from here also so all around fun little hang out place. Service was great and friendly bar tenders!
The Longboard pool bar is run by the Hilton DoubleTree Hotel. That is the pool that abuts it. I was at the hotel for a reunion. There was drinking involved and this is the place we chose to do a fair amount of it. I didn't order any food, per se. Although beer is good food. So just rating the drinks, I am giving it 4 stars just because the first drink I ordered was a mojito and it wasn't particularly well made. Of course I told the bartender that it was, but I lied. I usually don't order frou-frou drinks, and I learned my lesson from the mojito, so from then on it was mostly whiskey. My friends had beer and they seem to have a very good selection. One other slight issue is that eventually I ordered a gin and soda and was served a gin and tonic. I then ordered another gin and soda and got another gin and tonic. I guess that's a reflex. Just trying to avoid quinine induced retinal toxicity. Probably not that big a deal since I wasn't drinking anti-malarial quantities of tonic water. Anyway, nice bar, with a nice view of the ocean and very nice staff. It has a bar you can swim up to, if that's your thing.
Our server Alexandrea was excellent. Great vibe, across the street from the beach. Cool place.
This little bar is right by the water and offers amazing views of the beach. It was wonderful sipping on a delicious cocktail while watching all the interesting people along the seawall. The food is top notch as it comes from the double tree hotel that is connected to the bar by a swimming pool. Unfortunately, you can only use the pool if you are staying at the hotel. Still, it was a good time. The poor guy working the place was by himself and was swamped but kept calm and got everything perfect.
My wife and I stayed in the condos right across the street, and we LOVED having Longboard's just a few feet away. Great service, awesome drinks, and good food. Not to mention, an incredible view of the beach. To those who served us the weekend prior to Thanksgiving 2020, we thank you!
They have 1 of the best bartenders I have ever met in the whole world and the food was amazing and the drinks were even better
Really nice place. Good environment and great view. Nice pool and good vibes. Will definitely come back !
Went on a Pub Crawl with my Babygirl and Son In law in the Seawall. Had some Amazing Drinks (Pineapple Mojito,Passion fruit,And a Hurricane, but the Pineapple Mojito I love, love, loved. ) and Appetizers were good took awhile to get but hit the spot. Fabulous and 50 Celebration this weekend Awesome time. Nice Bar ,cool crowd great views

I stopped by Longboard Bar and had an awesome experience! Maddy was an exceptional bartender—super friendly, attentive, and made amazing drinks. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does. Definitely one of the best bartenders I’ve met. Can’t wait to come back!
This is a really fun atmosphere and right on the Seawall/beach. Tyler was amazing and crafted some great specialty cocktails with the utmost focus on taste. Highly recommend!
Dannie was so great we came back the next day and got the tacos which were 👌🏼. Best place on the Seawall, highly recommend!
Dannie is the best and we loved it here! Chicken tacos were great!

Best place to get a drink right on the beach across the road from the beach. I don't know why anybody would not recommend this place.
We stopped here to watch the sunset. Overall the service was great. We had a great view and stayed about an hour. Nothing special, just a small bar across from the water. We would definitely stop again.
Great atmosphere and beautiful views. With the hotel on one side and the beach on the other. The price reflects! Also, it's swimming "pool" not "pool" hall. 🤠😎

We went for a snack and a beverage, the weather wasn’t the greatest but the drinks were delicious and our server was so friendly. Interesting concept on the dill pickle appetizer, cut into rounds instead of spears- super yummy batter. Fantastic view!
My wife and I stopped in for a drink, since it had open air seating, facing the beach. I cannot speak for the food, since we only had a couple of drinks. I first ordered a glass of red wine and it was served in a tall plastic cup. The amount of wine in the cup was maybe 2-3 ounces! The bartender apologized for the tall cup, telling me that they ran out of the shorter ones. When I commented on the puny pour, he replied "what do you expect? We're a hotel bar that charges 10 dollars for a bag of chips! My wife had a mixed cocktail with very little alcohol in it. So, we ordered beer for our second round...it came served in a can with no glass or cup. I asked for a cup and the bartender brought one for me, but not one for my wife! Really? You can't make this up! If you stop here for a drink, order a beer and ask for a cup. Otherwise, you will be disappointed as well.
The place was not busy only two servers on hand. It took for ever to get some service so we hard to help ourselves pretty much. This looks like a place locals hang out, because the bartender knew most of the regular customers and they got the better service. We saw other customers come in and leave waiting after 30 minutes or more getting no one to give them menus or drinks. I would not suggest this place to have a good time, but I must admit the food we ordered was just to dam good! Great food terrible service no atmosphere.

Nice pool, decent food and drinks. Staff are an issue, bartender lost our credit card and spent more than a half hour repeatedly accusing us of tabbing out before they finally decided they must have given it to someone else... and then they found it behind the bar. Never a hint of an apology, and bartender avoided serving us for the rest of our stay.
Service was slow and not very personable. Our bartender left before we were even able to close our tab. The drinks were overpriced for what they were
This place advertised pool bar but the pool bar is only for hotel guest for the Doubletree Hotel by Hilton... The food came from the hotel and is not good at all for the price . My husband ordered Fish and Shimp. The shrimp was okay but the fish was just some fish sticks. We spent over 100 for 2 apps and I entree with a 25 dollar gratuity for 4 people. Was not worth the 123 dollars I spent at all when you have better quality restaurants right down the road. Drinks was all hot also.
Great food, awful service. Was never checked in on, had to go grab the check ourselves, had to check in on our food, and was lied to about the price of drinks. They also had like 6 people working and only 3 tables, yet they were all just talking amongst each other instead of actually doing their job. Will not go back.
I was hungry and heard this place had good food. I came along. It looked like a good establishment right next to the beach. I was wrong. I sat at the bar and waited 7 minutes before being helped by a bartender. Not only did I have to wait, but a woman walked up well after I’ve been sitting there and was helped before me. She was a white woman. Shortly after I was asked by a nice gentleman that noticed the situation. You’d think that was the worst part. Later I was waiting for food which took at least 20 mins to arrive. While I was waiting another customer threw food trying to hit one of the waitresses and hit me instead. When I looked back he acted like it never happened. Terrible experience at this bat. It took a lot to keep my cool. Never going again. Not sure if black people are welcomed.
Great location. You would expect it to be busy, but it’s not. Been here three times and unfortunately it always produces the same experience. I don’t know why we have chosen to try it two more times, but it only takes one visit to realize from a service perspective and operations perspective. It’s not worth returning to.

Would leave 0 stars if possible. Husband and I were waiting for our room at the Doubletree to be prepared. Went here to waste time, get something to drink. Sat at the bar. You would have thought we were invisible. Initially we gave them the benefit of the doubt as they were busy preparing drink orders. Even though one idle waitress at the end of the bar clearly saw us and still didn't offer service. Didn't really put a racial aspect to it because as I said, some waitresses were busying about. Until a Caucasian gentleman sat right next to my husband at the bar and the waitress told that man that she would be with him shortly. We are African American. Then it was undeniable. I have read some reviews that stated service was horrible. Don't know what race these people are. Maybe these workers are just plain rude. But in our case, it was clearly racially motivated. The Doubletree attendants said they hear this all the time. I would say steer clear of this place unless you are Caucasion or don't mind being ignored.
Me and my girlfriend had a couple of drinks here, just the two of us. They added a 22% gratuity. Too bad because I usually tip at least 35%. Also my girl just won part of the Texas Lottery and the day before we left a $1500.00 tip at a restaurant with great service and no added gratuity. Stay away, too many other great places on the island to go.
Our server was nice but really unorganized. There weren't any tables besides ours. The rum runner took 35 minutes honest to God and was disgusting and tasted nothing like a typical rum runner anywhere else in Galveston. I asked for lemon water with Splenda and I got the water with a little lemon but never got the Splenda. The can of coke was warm with a cup of ice and the steak quesadilla that we asked for minus pico came out with pico so she brought it back and it took 45 minutes to get the replacement. Then we had an emergency phone call and had to leave which was honestly perfect timing. I paid 37.00 in cash for this atrocious "meal". This is just unacceptable on every level
The bartender- Frank was terrible. The drinks took forever. The food sat on the bar with flies on it and he told the bussers to not take it to the customers but to help him with various tasks at the bar because he can't handle his job. He spilled a beer on our table then tried to joke about how our casual table of 11 will be splitting everything equally to make his job easier. I'm sorry but most of us didn't even order anything or 1 or 2 drinks while others ordered food and apps. Do your job dude. He can't handle his position and this place is ran horribly. I do not recommend.
The service is bad here, they ignore you and don’t let you know you have to order at the bar. The food was pretty bad, I won’t be back.
The service here is terrible, specifically Christina. It wasn’t just a bad day because unfortunately I’ve had her as my waitress a few times. She is extremely slow, doesn’t check on her tables or offer refills, and leaves for long periods of time to take phone calls and smoke weed. Every time I’ve been I’ve had to find her or go to the bar to order because she doesn’t ever tend to her tables. I’ve given this bar a chance four times now because the view is amazing but I will not be returning.
My husband and I stopped here for lunch. View of the ocean was great, but service was horrible. I ordered fish tacos, my husband ordered shrimp tacos. It’s took about 45 minutes and we were finally served the fish tacos (it didn’t come with the pineapple salsa it referred to on the menu). We were never checked on by our server in that time. It then took 20 more minutes until we could see the server again to ask where the shrimp tacos were as he had served every other table food that came in after us. He said kitchen was backed up then as he checked he realized he never put the second order in. We then told him we’d just take the check and leave since we had already been there over an hour and he didn’t even offer a comp of discount and when we asked he argued us about one, but finally took a beer and a soda off of the bill. Horrible service, the tacos we did receive were mediocre at best, would never go again.
Horrible experience today, visiting from out of town we wanted to eat and have some drinks on the water. The vibe looked cool so we thought we would try this place out. They had no frozen drinks! They only have Pepsi products, so we thought we would try the food. It took over an hour to get our food and the place was not busy at all! When I got my food the wrong item came out. The waitresses were the only good experience we had there! Management needs to review the down falls and give them waitresses a raise! Definitely will not return.
A friend of mine got me to leave my hermetically sealed pied-à-terre during COVID-19 to venture out on Ratchet Island:Galveston Edition for a frozen vodka dreamsicle we went to Longboards.... it was a LONG wait and we were BORED alright. The bartender in HOT PANTS was OBVIOULY phoning it in and there were 3 people in the whole place we ordered $40 of food. You would have they were surfing it from Rio de Janeiro because after 25 MIN we were STILL WAITING!!! I risked LIFE and limb and THAT is what I GOT!?! At this rate they should just STAY CLOSED! What are they gonna do when they are SLAMMED on a holiday weekend!?! We cut bait and moved on down tbe road!

You'd think it'd be cool to be next to beach, it's not when there's a street. When I told the bartender I'd be looking at the menu but not keeping the tab open, when I wasn't even down my dri k they wanted to tab me out. I didn't want to look at the menu after that as I find it unorthodox, I was going to pay for my meal and drink at the end. There was barely anyone there so they rushed me for no reason. Will never go back
