Opinions de Miller's Seawall Restaurant Galveston
We've been coming to Miller's for 15 years, it's our go to breakfast spot before boarding a cruise. Today's meal was exceptional as was the service, thanks Edward T. Bonus we had no wait today, but we never mind when we have to wait because it's worth it. The Jean Lafitte features the best French toast I've had anywhere. Hubs recommends the sausage gravy and biscuits. Celebrating 50 years in business this May, do not miss this restaurant when in Galveston. Oh, their dinners are awesome as well.
LeLan iur server was very pleasant and took care of our every need. The food was great. Served quickly. The au gratin potatoes were amazing! We ordered the peach cobbler to go.
We had a fantastic dinner at Miller’s Seawall Grill and would highly recommend it! I had the fried fish and grilled shrimp with country potatoes, and my husband had the steak and fried shrimp with au gratin potatoes. We also shared the boudin balls and gumbo. Every single thing we ordered was amazing and cooked perfectly. The seafood was fresh, the steak was tender, and the sides were just as good as the main dishes. The boudin balls and gumbo were both standout additions and definitely worth ordering. Our server was amazing as well — friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Great food and great service — we’ll absolutely be back!
I'm not a fan of biscuits 'n gravy, but something told me to order it, and I'm so glad I did! Our breakfast was delicious and service was great! We will definitely come back whenever we're in town!!
Absolutely the best peach cobbler I’ve had so far. I live in Houston, and the drive was more than worth it. Every bite made the trip worthwhile. The staff was incredibly friendly, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the food was simply delicious. You can really feel the care they put into everything. I highly recommend Miller’s Restaurant to anyone passing through!
After a long day driving up the coast from Surfsida, we first stopped at a place that didn't look to great, but the reviews were pretty good. After deciding to not stay, I quickly looked up another eatery nearby and ran across this perfect little place. We arrived and we're greeted and seated quickly. The restaurant was busy and I was glad to see the food looked amazing on the way to our table. Our server Lelan came over with a very friendly smile and genuinely greeted us. It was refreshing to have someone who was kind and truly glad we were there. He did an outstanding job with recommendations and was highly attentive. We never once had to ask for a single refill or anything for that matter. If you want fantastic food and great service come here and ask for Lelan. You won't be disappointed. Great job Lelan!
This may seem crazy but my family and I had a birthday celebration for my sister and dad at this restaurant. This was on November 22, 2025. Yes I know we are in an entirely new month and new year however the food and service was so good there was no way I would NOT write a review. I needed seating for 10 and the front office (as I will call them) made that happen. I was scared because I saw many people going in as we waited in the parking lot because my entire party wasn’t there yet. The front office told me as soon as the entire party arrived to let her know. I did just that and she said follow me. Had a nice little area in the back setup for us. The family had a wonderful time. The service was superb. I believe Leland was the name of our waiter. (I pray I have this correct). We have some greedy ones in the family and as they kept tasting something off of someone else’s plate someone would order that for themselves. It was a bit crazy 😜 but the waiter kept up with it all. Again he was great. Loves his energy. We were very appreciative for him, the chef(s) and the front office. The family is ready to come back. Apologies for taking so long to review. As they say life got in the way. But I was determined to write this review. We will see you guys when the weather is warmer and the days are longer. Thanks for it all.
Grilled Shrimp Galvez appetizer was very flavorful and tasty. The Shrimp & Grits were absolutely phenomenal! My family also enjoyed the Chicken Fried steak an a non-seafood option. Atmosphere was very warm, welcoming and comfortable. Our waitress was very friendly and polite. Loved the hospitality and historic feel of the restaurant!
I researched quite a bit to find the best restaurant in Galveston according to locals, and Miller's Seawall Grill was frequently mentioned. Even with high expectations it did not disappoint! First off, it's worth noting that it's been here for 50 years. They're doing something right. And the location is perfect: overlooking the ocean near Pleasure Pier. We loved how broad and interesting the menu was, and that everything we tried was between very good and exceptional. My wife loves seafood but I do not, so I appreciated being able to get her all the seafood she could desire while I got other things I love. A friend we were with said the ribeye was the best steak he'd ever eaten. The biscuits were incredible: melt in your mouth almost like a savory cotton candy. The waffles were so good I ordered them multiple times. They taste like old fashiones donuts. And for those who like seafood but can't choose what they want, there's a very good deal on a king's platter where you can try so many things and can have your seafood blackened, Cajun style, or fried. I loved the historic vibe of the place and the intimate feeling of the restaurant. It's not too big or loud, and it's designed so that almost all the tables have ocean views. Great place to eat, and great for giving gift cards. The friends we've taken have been so impressed!
We had an amazing dinner, service was top notch and food was so delicious!! It was nice to have the option of grilled and not fried. The chocolate pecan gnache brownie was sinfully delicious, the rolls were melt in your mouth and the crab chowder was the best I ever tasted. Nice comfortable atmosphere.
This was my first time here and the food and service didn’t disappoint! I would have loved for the shades to be up to enjoy a bit more sunlight however the atmosphere was very cozy. I really wanted to try a restaurant that’s not in Houston and I’m so glad that this was my first breakfast spot. I had the lump crap Benedict and my partner had the shrimp and Gouda grits. I couldn’t resist taking a bite of my food before I took the picture lol. I’m looking forward to exploring more of Galveston!
Came for breakfast and had only a 20 minute wait which was fine by us. Once seated the service was great too. The food was excellent. Nothing to complain about either. Tasty and big portions. We were so hungry we didn’t get photos of the food. Only sad things was that when we asked for bloody Mary’s our server said they don’t do them until 10am because it’s Sunday?!? And it was as only 9am. Then they don’t do outdoor seating … until summer ?
If your looking for a good restaurant, with great food, and great service- dont miss out on Millers. Parking is a little tight, and you may have a short wait.. but its worth it. Breakfast is served all day and you'll understand why. They have a good breakfast menu for just about anyone. Lunch and dinner starts at 11am and we have not been disappointed yet. From seafood, to tender chicken fried steak, its all good. Don't miss out on their sides! The green beans and augratin potatoes were simply delicious and hit the spot. Also, side note- if you like chicken fried chicken, just ask and theyll make it for you. It's not on the menu, but it was truly one of the best I've eaten. The wait staff is very attentive and each server overlaps and helps when needed. Make sure you stop by Miller's anytime you visit Galveston. Oh, did I mention they have a great outdoor balcony with a nice view since they sit right on the seawall. Great Food and a Great View... what else would you want when searching for a good spot to eat!
Really cool place! If you're lucky, you can get a water facing seat for a great view. Food was amazing. We stopped for breakfast and was not disappointed. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Parking is odd, but we managed to find a spot. Can't go wrong making this a stop for a bite while in Galveston.
The fried shrimp and grilled Basa was delicious! My girlfriend had The 16 fried/grilled shrimp and mac &cheese which she really enjoyed. For dessert we had the Peach Cobbler which was fantastic 😋.The service was outstanding and the view of the beach fantastic! Definitely going back on our next trip to Galveston ♥️
I had a wonderful time at Miller’s Seawall Grill! ♥️ The service was warm and attentive, and the relaxed atmosphere by the ocean made the experience even more enjoyable. There can be a bit of a wait, but it’s absolutely worth it. It's a cozy spot with great food, friendly service, and beautiful seaside views. I tried the shrimp & grits with gouda cheese, and it was very good. And for the dessert, the chocolate ganache pecan brownie was rich, gooey and delicious!
This place is a real gem in Galveston! I had the amazing corn and crab chowder and a patty melt and onion rings which were soooo good! They have been there a long time and do so much to give back to the community I'm happy to go there and have the delicious food they serve. They serve breakfast all day and next time I just have to try the biscuits and gravy!
With the number of times I have been to Galveston, we would drive by this place and not realize it was a restaurant. Did a quick Google review and realize I'm missing out of some great food. Arrive early Saturday evening for dinner, was seated quickly. Got our drink order and app fairly quickly also. With help of the waiter, ended up getting the seawall platter and shrimp po boy. I ended up going with blackened shrimp and fish with Mac. It was delicious, along with the large soft roll. Wife only down side was that the po boy didn't have a remoulade sauce to go with the sandwich. Couldn't eat dinner without dessert, their award winning ganache pecan brownie with ice cream. For us there was to much ganache and chocolate sauce, but once we scrap it away and are the brownie it was pretty good. Would def recommend trying this place out if you haven't. I will come back to try other dishes the next time we're in Galveston. Another nice feature was the upstairs outdoor patio where they serve cold drinks with a great view. No need to purchase anything to check out the patio and seating.
Five stars isn’t enough! My husband and I were staying at the Hilton right next door and decided to finally give Miller’s Seawall Grill a try. We’ve driven past it so many times on our trips to Galveston but never stopped in—what a mistake! This place completely exceeded our expectations. We walked in during the dinner rush, and although it was packed, we were seated in under 15 minutes. That’s impressive in itself, but what truly made our visit special was our server, Leland. From the moment we were seated, he was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the menu. He recommended the grilled chicken plate, peach cobbler, and a few standout sides—and wow, he did not steer us wrong. The food was absolutely delicious. Huge portions, fresh flavors, and that cobbler? Don’t skip it. The ocean view from our table added the perfect touch, and the restaurant’s cozy yet clean and bright interior made the whole experience even better. We were so impressed that we came back the very next morning just to try the breakfast Leland had raved about—again, 10/10. This is now a must-visit spot for us whenever we’re in Galveston. Thank you, Leland, for making our experience unforgettable!
This is definitely a top tourist spot! Breakfast is good but prices are HIGH!!! $23.00 for a basic breakfast is wild! So as a local we only go maybe twice a year and that’s for the view and French Toast. Grits are DRY and sticky. IHOP is down the street and better priced and has the same breakfast choices. We may try having dinner here soon but there are too many better options on the island. We will leave room for the vacationers.
The atmosphere was nice. The service was excellent. The seafood was pricey. We settled for the value menu on back of it. I looked up the choice of fish, Bata. I looked it up, never heard of Basa. It is from the catfish family. We both chose shrimp. My husband said his shrimp tasted frozen. I could not tell. The dessert, Peach Cobbler was their own version, it was really good; served with ice cream.
Food was pretty good but honestly it wasn't something I'd go back for. Service by Kathy was exceptional! Super friendly and helpful.
The service was blah. The grilled shrimp was amazingly delicious, the fish was good, the hush puppies were dry and bland, the friend okra was bland, and to end the meal we had the brownie and it was delicious . The people behind us in the booth were about to come through the booth seat. It felt as if a stampede was behind us.
We came here because of the amazing ratings. As soon as we came in our waitress took our order. It felt very rushed. She wasn't very friendly. We got our food about 15-20 minutes later and Amanda not once checked on us. I had to go to the kitchen and get my own ketchup. My husband didn't even get the sauce he wanted for his fish. I went to the the manager and told him how bad the service was and he said yeah we're short-staffed. Brushed it off like it wasn't a big deal. Won't come back here again
