Loved this place! I got a platter that let me try the gumbo, jambalaya, étouffée, and bacon wrapped shrimp and it was all delicious! The staff worked as a team and all seemed focused on customer satisfaction. The atmosphere was just what you’d expect for a place called Little Daddy’s Gumbo Bar. When I travel to Galveston, I’ll always make a point of going there.

The Holy Spirit guided me into this establishment on the 14th of November. My sister and I took an impromptu day trip to the beach in honor of the one year anniversary of our mother's passing. I packed a small cooler full of snacks because I thought we were going to eat a light lunch on the beach, picnic style, but God had other plans for us. Believe me when I say that God's lunch plans were far better than anything that I could have possibly imagined. We ordered (and split) the Mumbo Gumbo and Little Daddy's House Special with Catfish and garlic bread on the side. In all honesty, the food knocked our socks off! It was AMAZING!!! Neither my sister or I have ever had a gumbo quite like that before. The dish literally had everything in it but the kitchen sink. Truly divine. Big shoutout to our wonderful server, Cornell, who treated us with hospitality, grace and kept our waters filled to the brim. God bless you, sir! I have prayed to God many times for you as requested. I do not know what struggles you are currently going through, but believe me when I say, "WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER". Thank you so much to our server, the entire staff and this business as a whole for making our special day honoring mom just a little bit more special. We hope to return one day, but until then... God bless and good journey!

We came during the week.. on Monday! The crew and manager still kept their warm hospitality. It’s good not to be in a rush and enjoy the food at Little Daddy’s. Their 16oz gumbo portion was more than ample for two people to share along with another entree. Lovely dark roux and lots of ingredients.. each morsel- delish! Ordered the seafood platter.. the staff were happy to accommodate my oyster allergy and have a free extra fried shrimp.. these fellas were huge and juicy and well seasoned.. tasted fries in many places.. can’t get enough of their crinkle cut fries.. well fried and seasoned. Thank you for monitoring the standard of your dishes. Always look forward to returning and paying yall a visit.

The staff and manager were absolutely fantastic! Raini was our server. She was very attentive. Caroline the manager checked on us several times. This was our first time here! We will definitely be coming back with our entire family. The food tasted fabulous and the quality was top notch. Recommend 10/10!

Wanted some cajun seafood so bad AND that was dog friendly so we kinda rolled the die and ended up here. Loved the vibe and the service was quick and super friendly. We ordered the Little Daddy's House Special with the catfish and our waiter suggested we do the catfish fried to add a little crispiness to our meal and she was 100% correct. I'm embarrassed to say I didn't even get a chance to take a before photo just an AFTER cause I was digging in too fast. The étouffée was delicious, the catfish was soft, flaky, and crispy at the same time. The grilled squash was delightful as well. I feel so bad that I can't remember our waitress' name but 10 outta 10 service. I cant wait for our next Galveston trip so I can come back here again!

The food is delicious. When we walked in the staff didn’t really cared we walked in and took them a second to acknowledge us and they didn’t even look at us and said “you can seat where ever you want” but the waitress that we got was really nice and one of them offered my wife her sweater because it was cold. The food was really good, definitely recommend this place. Will be coming back when we visit Galveston again.

We ate at Little Daddy's Gumbo Bar for the first time last night. It was delicious! The atmosphere was nice, the wait staff was cheerful and attentive and the food was scrumptious. We both had a variety of shrimp- all of which were so good! We will definitely visit again.

Another Galveston food spot that did not disappoint!! LDGB did not disappoint from the time we were seated by the Amazing Cornell! We each ordered a cocktail and got the ball rolling!! Started of with some Swamp Fried Alligator Bites, served over fried pickles.. amazing!! Next.. the weefie orded the Fish Sandwich, a huge crispy fried catfish filet on a potato bun with all the fixins.. soo delish!! Then I ordered the Bourbon Street Platter which had chicken and sausage gumbo, crawfish etouffee, char grilled bacon wrapped gulf shrimp over jambalaya with Cajun green beens.. oh brother.. add a side of red beans and rice and I was in heaven!! Couldn't leave without trying the New Orleans Style Beignets... it's almost as if I knew what up was doing!! If you're ever in Galveston, look this place up, but get there early cause this place gets packed!! Shout out to Cornell, Robert and Caroline for making our visit special We'll be seeing you very soon!!

Awesome little spot in Galveston, great food and drinks! The grilled oysters were delicious! We also had the gator for an appetizer which was also really good. Others in our party had the shrimp platter, fish platter and the gumbo and they all said is was amazing. The service was a little slow and there were hardly any tables, so maybe we just can at a weird time but we’ll definitely be back!

I had a fantastic experience at Little Daddy’s Gumbo Bar in Galveston! I started with the alligator bites as an appetizer, and they were excellent—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and full of flavor. For my main dish, I ordered the chicken and sausage gumbo, and it was absolutely spot on. The seasoning was perfect—rich, well-balanced, and bold without being overwhelming. It didn’t need any extra hot sauce or spices, which is rare for gumbo done right. The portion was generous, and every bite was satisfying. What really stood out to me, though, was the service. My server, Cornell, was outstanding. He was knowledgeable about the entire menu and even shared some great insights about the location. He was attentive and friendly throughout my meal, making sure I had everything I needed without being overbearing. All in all, this was a great dining experience. Delicious food, excellent service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back!

Really liked this place. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was welcoming. This is a kind of casual place with TV's on the wall with the NFL games playing. Our server was good but seemed a little distracted. She forgot to put in my drink order and forgot about our appetizer. It could have just been an off night for her so I won't hold that against her. We had a nice experience and will return the next time we're in Galveston.

We had the fried alligator, garlic bread, seafood gumbo, and chicken sandwich for lunch. The fried alligator was the best. We didn’t like the gumbo too much, and the sandwich was pretty good. The chicken sandwich doesn’t come with fries, but the waiter just added them there and charged us for it without asking us if we wanted the fries or not. Overall, it’s a pretty good place to eat when you are in town.

Went there twice and both times the food was pretty good. Service could definitely be improved as the staff didn’t seem very knowledgeable of their own menu/prices. Dishes were somewhat dirty tho and that’s the reason for my 3 stars. I even had to ask them to give me a new cup of water the first time.
