Opinions de Louisiana Charlie's Garden Grove
I read the reviews and was skeptical but open-minded. I really wanted some crawfish etouffee. First off... There are plenty of wait staff, and I was checked on multiple times. Prices are high, but it's Long Beach, so fairly average. You pay and tip first. I'm not a fan, but they did earn the tip. The portions are big. I ordered the half order of gumbo fries, and it was enough for two adults to be a full meal. My only complaint is that the gumbo has a generic brown gravy sauce taste. Not a rich roux like I expected. It was on fries so acceptable. Seems from the reviews that a lot of people around here have Canadian palates. The crawfish etouffee was excellent. Spicy and well balanced. It's a little thinner than I'm used to, but I really thought it was just right for today. Good portion. Sweet tea was sweet enough but very weak on the tea side. Free refill was appreciated. Nice seating area and location. Jazz and R&B background music.
I ordered the brisket sandwich and coleslaw. Also ordered a Blue Moon beer. The brisket sandwich was very tender with a good amount of sauce and brisket. You will need the napkins! The service is good. I enjoyed my meal outside under cloudy skies. I would recommend it. My cost were $36 with tip. Give them a try and enjoy your day along the water.
Louisiana Charlie’s is an order first type restaurant where you pay and order your food at the register before being seated. There is indoor and outdoor waterfront seating. It gets extremely crowded during the weekend and they do not accept reservations. The prices ate extremely reasonable especially for the seafood boils and they have lunch specials. The food looks amazing I always want to try everything that I see at other tables. I’ve tried the shrimp Po boy and oyster Po boy. Both were fried and seasoned perfectly. The Cajun fries are thoroughly seasoned and the Cajun spices are delicious. The shrimp & grits are also really good, especially the roux. The cornbread is great too. I look forward to coming back to try different menu items. The staff are all friendly with good vibes. There is a paid parking lot that the restaurant will validate.
This food was awesome! I’m not sure why the rating because I enjoyed my experience. You do have to order and pay ahead of time, but I feel that makes it easier ti get up and leave when you’re done. The employees were kind to me and like I said the food was great! I got the gumbo fries and they did not disappoint!
If you're in the mood for some good Cajun seafood and soul food, this is your place. They have a great selection from frog legs to pulled pork. You order everything up front and they deliver it to your table. They only have outdoor seating, but it's in the shade and they have a fan blowing to keep it cool. We went in the middle of the day and the breeze off the pier made it pleasant. The food was a bit pricey but good. We wanted to try the gator legs but would pass on them next time (they taste like chicken wings but a lot more expensive). We had the fried oysters and catfish with Mac and cheese and the jumbo shrimp poboy with candied yams. The catfish and shrimp were both very tasty. The Mac and cheese was average and the yams were good. We ordered the sweet potato pecan pie but had to take it to go because we were so full. Next time we would just go with the pecan pie or banana pudding. The sweet potato took away some of the sweetness. Overall, we enjoyed the food and experience. Nice to have a taste of New Orleans and soul food in an area with so many chain restaurants.
So upset that I’m late with this review. I went during the Mardi Gra celebration and were so glad we went. Firstly you order before being sat and that includes drinks as well . ( no table ordering) They have indoor and outdoor seating with waterfront outdoor side option. The Hurricane was amazing ! 😁I definitely should have got the fishbowl size. Now to the food, which ALL was hot!. The gumbo fries are a MUST try ! The smallest size fed 2 people perfectly and I know the bigger portion would be more than enough for a party of 4 , less , or just 2 food lovers .💕 The flavors and spices were superb. The shrimps were jumbo and cooked to perfection. The Jambalaya had amazing flavors and a great portion. The jumbo shrimp were exactly that JUMBO! They did not skimp on the food , I chose corn and baked beans 🫘 for my sides which i rather enjoyed. All of the food was delicious and the dessert didn’t disappoint ! They made beignets which were fresh, delicious , and HOT!
Got us in super quick, had us order before seating which made the process so much faster then other places. Had the spicy chicken sandwich. Wasn't really spicy but was super delicious!
I really love the food and I've never had a bad meal here. The food is consistant! Not a fan of gumbo but LC was the first one I tried that tasted good to me. Full wings and cat fish is on point!!!!! Staff is friendly.
First time there and was satisfied. I would definitely go back. Went on a weekday so it wasn't really busy which was good.. I gave service 4-stars only cause it appeared to be a couple of employees working the front and had to get up to request refills/water... which the gentleman immediately brought them to us.
My husband and visited Long Beach for our Anniversary and had the pleasure of dining at Louisiana Charlie’s! I must say we really enjoyed ourselves and the view on the outside patio was everything! We had a variety of platters but our all time favorite was The Gumbo Fries!!! Can you say AMAZING and just know an half order will feed more than 2 of you!!!! We will definitely visit again!!!
Love ❤️ this place for the shrimp 🍤 boil😋 & other dishes I've had. Highly recommend 👌. Price for two 👌
Food was delicious! Atmosphere was great! ⚓️🛥️Met with a friend that is actually from Texas as well and enjoyed lunch with her, it’s crazy that we have to come all the way to California to meet up to have lunch because we never have time in Texas I was here for a special occasion and she was here as well for a very special occasion. We just so happened to be about 15 minutes away from each other. We work together I’m a realtor and she is a lender so we have many deals going on now and we were celebrating our closings coming soon! 🍾🥂💖🥳🙌☀️
Have to order at door, which wasn’t fun. We got seated pretty fast. Our food was delicious. We spent $75 with tip.
This is where creole meets the beach. Great music and food. This is truly the NOLA atmosphere. We enjoyed the “back porch” with the view of the Pacific Ocean. The jambalaya was the perfect texture and flavor and a large portion. Not soupy like some others. The catfish with gravy rice was tasty and had leftover. The Ribs were seasoned well with tender meat. The half of rack are meaty ribs. The cocktails 🍹 are mixed well. The staff are helpful. You well need to paid for your food at the time of order. They will not accept cash, Apple Pay, Google Pay nor Android Pay. Be sure to get your parking ticket validated. This restaurant was feature on ABC 7 new as a must visit restaurant.

food was great, not really any service as you pay up front, they deliver to table, and that's it. but no complaints. we had pulled pork sandwich, cornbread, blackened salmon, garlic bread, baked beans. all was good.
I have dined at this establishment over a dozen times, drawn back by the quality of the food and the beautiful location on the Long Beach Shoreline, which offers stunning views of the marina and lighthouse. The ambiance is delightful, making it an enjoyable dining experience. The food is consistently interesting, freshly prepared, and served hot. One of my favorite dishes is the shrimp and catfish po' boy, which is featured in the photo I posted; it truly showcases how delicious this sandwich is. Additionally, the gumbo fries and gumbo itself are excellent. I have also tried the fried alligator, which, while enjoyable, lacked the seasoning flavors I expected, though the meat was fresh and well-cooked. Regarding service, I have experienced varying levels of attentiveness. At times, the staff has been friendly and welcoming, but there have also been occasions where I've had to wait for acknowledgment when seeking to be seated or assisted. One aspect I find less favorable is the requirement to pre-order and pay for food before being seated. This process detracts from the traditional dining experience, limiting the interaction with servers who typically check in periodically. While someone may come by once to ensure everything is satisfactory, the lack of regular server engagement is something I found unusual. Overall, I love this place and believe that enhancing the customer service experience could elevate it to a five-star establishment. The non-traditional dining approach is something I'm not accustomed to, but the quality of food keeps me coming back.
Would have given 5 Starz but my friend spilled his $16 drink minutes after it was delivered to the table and they wouldn't replace it. He only drank 2 sips out of it. The waiter cleaned up the entire spill so he knew it was spilled and not drank...but he wouldn't replace. We had to pay full price for a replacement. The food was AMAZING. I had gumbo.. huge shrimp a thick rich rouxe and sausage and chunks of chicken. Definately home made not canned!!! And a huge snow crab CLUSTER!!! SO GOOD! Also had fried fish. Two HUGE filets! Made to order steaming hot and crispy crunchy...burning my mouth to eat it! Just the way I like it!!! Lol my friend had bbq ribs and grilled shrimp. The shrimp were huge and packed with flavor! Ribs looked great; sauced and steaming hot. I didn't try but he said they were really delicious. Drinks were good...not really strong like I like them but tasty none the less. I had a hurricane and watermelon margarita. I don't think the drinks were made with real liquor??? Maybe wine based? Omg yall!!! You gotta try the gumbo fries! It's a platter of crispy fries topped with all the stuff that comes in gumbo. Pored on top of the fries! Unfortunately I didn't see this until AFTER my food was brought out! Omg it looked glorious! Two different tables ordered it and said it was amazing 👏 🙌! Just know it's a HUGE platter big enough for 2 or 3 people!!!!
Had a work trip to Long Beach so we stopped here to try some seafood. The ordering was different, kind of a sit down but you order and pay first then they take you to a seat. I felt pressured to tip prior because then you worry if they will make your food how it should be, and you can’t really base your tip off of service. So in the future I’d bring cash to leave on the table. We ordered a shrimp boil and a crawfish boil. Total cost was $78 with two waters. It was enough food for two people. The flavor was really good, the sausage that came with the shrimp was fantastic and even though the shrimp still had the shell on, it had a lot of flavor. Next time I’d get two shrimp boils instead of the crawfish. The crawfish was good, just didn’t have as much flavor and didn’t come with as much food. Service was ok, kind people but had to get up and find someone to get a refill of our waters. It was too cold to sit outside, a storm came in that week, but I think the experience would be better sitting outside. Inside felt very cramped. Overall I would go back for the food.
Overall the food was pretty good and authentic southern and creole. Jambalaya dish was pretty tasty and on point. Ordered Cajun shrimp with collard greens and cornbread which was also pretty good. Sweet tea was southern style and really satisfying. Service was pretty friendly and attentive. You do have to order and prepay and tip before you sit which kinda annoying. Felt like family operated or independent run restaurant when all the other restaurants in the area are global corporate chain restaurants. Seating seemed a little mix of different atmospheres feels. Prices seemed a little high but to be expected with all the major chain restaurants nearby and somewhat touristy area.
We stopped in after spending some time on the water. The ordering process was a little different — you place your order right at the door before finding a seat anywhere inside. Other than that, everything was great. The waiter was friendly and attentive. I had the jumbo shrimp boil and it was spectacular — perfectly seasoned with a nice spicy kick, plus corn, potatoes, and sausage that all hit the spot. My wife ordered the burger with Cajun fries, and both were really good as well.
Went here while visiting for our Cruise. The food was really good. They have you place your order before they seat you. Portion sizes were more than enough to share service was good. I would recommend the Gumbo it was great.
I recently visited Louisiana Charlie’s in Long Beach and ordered the shrimp po’ boy with Cajun fries, along with chicken wings served with fries and yams. The shrimp po’ boy was the clear standout. The shrimp were perfectly fried, well-seasoned, and generously portioned. It came fully dressed with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and a flavorful house-made remoulade, all on a toasted French roll that held everything together nicely. Easily the highlight of the meal. I had a bit of a love-hate relationship with the Cajun fries. The seasoning was solid and flavorful, but they didn’t have the crispiness I prefer—especially compared to their regular fries. That said, portions were generous across the board, and nothing felt skimpy. The atmosphere and service were both great. You order and pay first, then take a seat. Sarah at the register did an excellent job helping us and made the process smooth. The only minor drawback is that if you want to add anything later, you have to walk back up front to pay—but that’s a small inconvenience in an otherwise very positive experience. Overall, great food, great service, and a great visit. I’ll definitely be back.
I visited Louisiana Charlie's last Sunday. I used to dine here often when I lived in Long Beach years ago. When we arrived we had to pay first. I didn't like this because I felt rushed. The bill came out to about $90 for two people, which isn't bad. We ordered the following: sauteed fish, fried shrimp, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, yams, and sweet potatoe pie (store bought). We were seated near the rear of the restaurant. I felt like we were forgotten at times. The food was good, but I feel that the pay before you eat thing kind of ruins the dining experience. I would come back, but I'll probably order the food to go.
Overall an ok experience. Paying before you eat always makes you wonder why is this needed and in my opinion It can make you feel as if its more of a food truck experience instead of dining at a restaurant. The bbq smoke smelled great and we made our choices, paid, and waited on a patio with a nice view of the lighthouse and people walking by. A runner brought our drinks, and soon after our meals arrived by server. He was friendly and the food looked good. The Yams were my favorite and the mac n cheese very tasty. My huband had a catfish special and raved about the red beans , collard greens and my yams. He is from New Orleans so he would know how this should taste. Unfortunately my ribs were pretty tough not alot of meat very dried up just covered in sauce possibly to hide the fact they may have been old... Our server didn't return for quite awhile. When he was leaving another table I stopped him & asked if we could have a refill of our drink and only then did he inquire how our food was. I was like its ok but the disappointment it was delivered with should have given some kind of response. In reality I should have been honest and told him this was not what I expected. The reviews I saw on You Tube made it sound amazing and at $30 a half slab(5 ribs and an end piece) I expected better... I ended up asking another server if the ribs normally came out like this. She took one look at them and said definitely not. I can see how dried they are from here. Can I get you some to take home they just came off the smoker. Yes please. Very nice and the right thing to do. When I tried these later at home they were SO much better than the first time. Juicy, meaty , and a little smokey. Very happy that they replaced what I had, with what should have come out the first time. I will say they did right in the end but the first ribs #1 shouldn't have been served and drowned in bbq sauces to hide they were old & #2 our server should have looked at them and asked for better ones or told us it would be a little longer for some fresher ribs just off the smoker. Also check on your table to see how their food is within a few minutes is usually a good idea. I am grateful the other server was able to step in and get us the better ribs she is my hero and deserves to be recognized for doing the right thing
I love Louisiana Charlie’s the gumbo french fries are absolutely amazing and the portion size is so big you legitimately could share it with like three people. I also had gator land frog legs. Here for the first time I like the frog legs, but I didn’t anticipate the gator tasting more fishy and mushy. The barbecue is pretty good. The wings are good. The fish is really good. The only thing I didn’t particularly care for was the was the Gumbo I want. The drinks are exceptional as well, I love sitting on the back because it’s facing the water and the boat so it provides an amazing calming view while you’re able to enjoy some awesome food. They have a new system here where you kind of do like a self ordering system, which is perfect for me, but people that are not that comfortable using that it can be a hassle nevertheless, there’s always some one there to help you. I love it.
I didn't know this place existed. I didn't want to eat at the Yard House again. I thought there was a pizza by the slice place at the Pike, so I walked down and around looking for it. Didn't see the pizza place, saw another one,but they sell the whole pizza. I wasn't feeling the nearby live bands,or other crowded places to eat,so I kept walking. I saw Louisiana Charlies, and yay,so glad I tried it. I will definitely be back. This was a nice, relaxing spot to eat outside,on the patio. We could see the water, from our table, and enjoy music playing on the patio. It is no cash, cards only,no table service. You get a menu outside, go in order, and pay first. let them know if you are dining in or out,get a number for your table, they serve your food. The food was tasty, and the portions were decent sides. The margarita was huge. The hot link po boy is yummy,so is the shrimp po boy. The mac n cheese was decent, seasoned properly, obviously not Kraft mac n cheese. The fries were seasoned well, yummy. The staff were all kind and helpful.
Tonight's dinner at Louisiana Charlie's was fulfilling, but service was different. Before being seated, you're provided a menu while waiting in line. You'll place your order, get a number, and then get escorted to a seat. We chose to sit on the back dock overlooking the water, a beautiful view. The food you ordered is brought out. There are no servers for tableside service. With that being said, the drink Drunken Love with champagne was satisfying. Gumbo fries were loaded with toppings. Our entrees, Catfish dinner, and Creole Jambalaya portions were plentiful and savory.
Food was good but you have to order your food then go sit somewhere and then someone brings your food after 10-20 minutes. I talked to my 20 percent tip once to ask if my soda was coming, someone else brought my food and drink. If there are refills, they weren't offered. Beautiful view though.

The fact I have to go to the counter everytime I want to order something is something I'm not really feeling. But I do have to say that the food was exceptional. I ordered red beans and rice and it was fire I enjoyed every bite. Only issue I really had was that I had to pay and tip first, that's the only thing that didn't sit well with me
I wanted to come here after i seen their sign while i was walking along the board walk. So the next day my fiance and i came to eat. I thought it was weird that we had to figure out what we wanted to eat outside before we could even go in. And then we had to order at the register and pay for the meal before we were even seated. I also thought it was kinda weired that they took no cash. Card only. And took the tip at the register as well. Not really the restaurant vibe you would expect. Nontheless, the guy who took our order was very nice. I ordered the catfish dinner with mac'n'cheese and greens. My fiance ordered the bbq chicken sandwich with cajun corn. And we split a half order of gumbo fries. We sat at the outdoor patio, giving us a beautiful view of the water. A sever brought us our drinks with a smile on her face. Not too long later our food arrived. The food LOOKED absolutely delicious. Unfortunately the flavor wasn't really there. EVRYTHING was subpar. Not nasty, but not what I was expecting or hoping. The cornmeal on the fish was fried perfectly, the fish just lacked flavor. The greens and mac lacked flavor as well. The half order of gumbo fries was HUGE. Waaaaay bigger portion than what I thought. Unfortunately that too lacked flavor. I took a bite of a few of the sausages by themselves and they literally tasted like nothing. And there was only four pieces of shrimp in the whole thing. My fiance was disappointed in his bbq sandwich because he thought it was going to be a chicken breast but instead it was pulled chicken. I tried his sandwich and would say it had the most flavor out of everything on table. You could taste the smokiness in it. For the price our tab came up to be, the presentation was good, the portions was good, but overall, the flavor wasn't there so I was disappointed.
I had been craving alligator so, I came here; we had a table full of things. We ordered the Cajun pasta, Jambalaya, fried chicken wings with rice gravy and greens and lastly, shrimp and grits. We had Coke, Sierra Mist and sweet tea to drink. I really enjoyed the shrimp and grits, didn’t care for the rice and gravy or greens and the sweet tea was really sweet but, I couldn’t taste the tea. The pasta was good but it had a lot of tomato’s.
food wise the crawfish etoufee was just okay. the gumbo fries and catfish was great. the mac n cheese was completely bland which is crazy because they have a whole no exchange/no refund policy. service wise, we got dirty silverware and cups. don't know if the pans was also dirty because they had the paper on top for our food. the atmosphere was just ok. we got a nice view of the water, but that was about it. there was nothing special about it. overall i don't think it was worth coming here especially with how much we spent and definitely not going to come back.
There needs to be a sign placed at the front of the restaurant that says, only one party can enter at a time when you order. We went here yesterday to eat for dinner. It was windy and chilly outside. So when we had the opportunity to step inside we did. We were rudely told by the person taking the orders that only one party can be inside at a time. Then the fact that they are asking if you want to tip at the beginning when you are ordering, it’s laughable. We get seated and get our food in a descent amount of time. The food was a 10 out of 10. I had catfish, yams, and Cajun fries, everything was delicious! There seem not to be a dedicated server for the table. Someone that appeared to be the manager checked on us more than the other employees. A tall white male, with tattoos, and gauged earlobes. He was very nice. We had one other younger male employee that checked on us as well. However, the female that we initially encountered, horrible, and first impressions are everything. I would visit again but if I encountered the same woman with that bad attitude I would not return again.
I used to frequent Louisiana Charlie’s when I lived in the area, so I was excited to come back. The food was simply amazing as always and still lives up to what I remembered. Unfortunately, the service really missed the mark this time. I understand that many restaurants have shifted to a pay before you eat model, but the issues went beyond that. The hostess was not very friendly, and we often had to track down our waiter for basic items (like forks, napkins, etc) and our dessert .It felt like the restaurant was understaffed, which affected the overall experience. The bartender deserves recognition because they were the only one who truly made an effort to accommodate our needs and keep things moving. I truly hope management addresses the staffing and service issues because the food is still excellent and this place has so much potential to be great again.
THERE is no table service so must know what you want once you walk in. Which I didn't like . BBQ chicken sandwich was good and so was the Mac and cheese. The booth we sat at was very dusty so not sure about cleaning here. Also super dark they had no lights on just the natural lights from windows and its cloudy out. Also when you pay to park if restaurant doesn't validate you get charged double parking . So we paid $8 instead of 2
I was a little concerned about this place because the reviews were pretty low here. The food did look really good so we decided to give it a try anyway. The food was really excellent and we enjoyed that. It's a full size restaurant but they make you read the menu outside before you go in and you order and pay at the door. They sit you in this full size restaurant and give you no table service but still ask for tips even though they don't do anything for you. Super weird way to run a restaurant. The lady at the register also didnt ask us for our parking pass so she can validate it for us so the parking cost us an additional 6 dollars because of the lack of service they offered.
The entrance will be from the parking lot, so if you're on the boardwalk, you'll have to walk around to find it. You pay - and tip - first, so you have to order even before you get seated (you have to wonder what led them to have to do this). You have choices of dining inside, or outside by the boardwalk. The food is Cajun, so expect it to be very spicy. I had the red beans and rice, which was accompanied with a cornbread muffin. It was very tasty, but HOT & spicy. My roommate had the oyster po' boy which was also excellent, but again, very spicy. The iced tea is great here, as well. Since it's prepaid, you better make sure you get everything you need when you get your food, because you won't see the waiter again, so don't expect a refill on the iced tea. Luckily, we had a friendly bus-boy bring us extra napkins. You may not be so lucky. The food is good, but if you don't mind deciding what you want to eat before you're even seated, paying for it, and seeing the waiter only when he drops off your food, you should have a pleasant night.

Do not order the lunch time burger. It’s awful. I see why they charge you and include the tip up front. Tiny little burger was overcooked. So much mustard (both sides) made it completely inedible. When they came by to check ( been sitting a while) all they said was oh I’m sorry and walked away. Id stay away from this place. Lots of other options around.
I don't really like the setup as you wait to get your order taken and then sit. You've been issued your number. When our drinks came out our water glasses had food particles floating in them. They were quickly replaced but after that wasn't too trusting. Next our food came out and even though it was hot, mine came out with hair strands. When I notify our waiter I was getting the option for it to be remade or receive a refund. We went with the refund option but it took 40 minutes after asking three times for that to be completed. Other than the view which you can absolutely see on your own I would not recommend this place. It's worth being overcharged someplace else.

Not worth the hype at Long Beach. The place has to many rules! You have to pay before you get to sit! Never seen anything like this in all of Los Angeles for a sit down restaurant. Next NO cash they announce while you’re in line! Then you find out no cards without a chip, no Apple Pay! The inside literally has two small round tables/booths and one 6 seater in the back and in another room 2 smaller and 2 six seaters! And one 2 seater in the hallway. Outside has the most seats!! So get ready to sit outside. (Wack) There is NO, NO alcohol license. Beer & Wine only and the Mock-tails!! Lmbo. And they don’t tell you when you’re ordering. Because you need to read the menu!! Atmosphere- whatever you make it. It’s dark at night and boring! It’s whatever your party is inside. Taste is ok - they serve gumbo fries on top of paper! So the juice absorbs and when you scoop it - you get paper also! Be careful!! Catfish is to crispy and thin. Both tables sent it back! Management- is lax and not into pleasing -short haired girl. Because you pay in advance- so they got there money already!!! They don’t have enough servers & inside is to to small! It’s called the NO, NO this and that- sorry restaurant!! Don’t need to go again! Not worth it!!!!!!!!
This place was an absolute disaster from start to finish. Every person we came in contact with — except the young lady at the front counter — was rude, dismissive, and acted like they were doing us a favor by serving us. We were a group of ten who spent close to $1,000, and the way we were treated was insulting, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. No accommodation for our group: We were seated outside on the patio, which was completely empty the entire time we were there. Management refused to let us move the tables together, saying “the owner watches the cameras and doesn’t allow it.” When we adjusted the tables ourselves, management sent out a Black woman from the staff to tell us we had to move them back. Considering our entire group was Black and the patio was empty, that choice felt intentional and racially charged. The setup wasn’t blocking anything or causing a safety issue — they just refused to be accommodating, period. Rude and unprofessional staff: When we asked one of the employees if he could help move the tables, he snapped “I’m busy right now.” The tone from the entire staff was rude, short, and careless from start to finish. There was no hospitality, no professionalism, and no effort to make things right. Ridiculous payment rules: They only accept cards. If you want to pay cash, you must have exact change, otherwise they won’t take it. You’re also required to pay before you get your food, and the system automatically adds a 22% tip — even if your service is terrible. Who forces a mandatory tip before you even see your food? Terrible food: The food was just as disappointing as the service. The gumbo had no seasoning at all — completely bland and nothing like authentic Creole cooking. For what they charge, that’s embarrassing. Petty nickel-and-diming: One of my friends ordered lemonade that was bitter and asked to swap it for a Coke. The server said it would be an extra charge just to switch drinks. Another friend asked for an extra bowl to share food and was told they only had one bowl left and the rest were plastic. That’s ridiculous for any restaurant, let alone one pretending to be upscale. Timing and atmosphere: This was Saturday around 5 PM, not even peak time. There was a 30-minute wait outside, but once seated, the patio stayed empty. There was absolutely no reason they couldn’t accommodate us — they just chose not to. Everything about this place screamed poor management, bad attitude, and zero customer care. It’s one thing to have a busy night — it’s another to treat customers this poorly, especially a group spending that kind of money. Louisiana Charlie’s failed on every level — food, service, attitude, and hospitality. We won’t be back, and I want to make sure other people know exactly how we were treated before spending their money here.
I paid $50 for fried catfish, sweet potatoes, Cajun fries, and sweet tea. The only good thing was the sweet tea. The food was horrible. Worst food I have had at a restaurant this year hands down. I asked get a burger instead and the burger was also horrible. What a waste of money!!!
Absolutely do not come here. Service was rude, food is overpriced for the small portions and the rooms are so cramped and small loud customers make the experience worst. Not worth the price you pay.
