Always a great experience at this location. The food is consistently good, service can be sometime good but sometimes bad, but the atmosphere is always quiet and me and my wife can enjoy our meal.

Amazing food with great portion sizes and flavors. Top tier sushi and the best Pad Thai in Gastonia. Ambiance leaves something to be desired depending on where you are seated by staff. The horribly bright and cold interrogation/exam room lights over some of the tables completely ruin any kind of mood and are especially terrible when one is near a ceiling fan and it gives a flickering effect. * Went back and the lighting in the booth area was much better. way more pleasant experience. Was kind of a hassle getting seated there, hope it wont be as awkward trying to get seated there next time.

For a local restaurant outside of Charlotte, this place actually offers decent options of food and beverages. The sashimi I had were not the best I’ve had, but in decent quality. The sushi rolls were pretty good for the price. They carry some unique liquor options that you would normally only see at a high-end restaurant in downtown Charlotte. I would definitely visit this place again.

If you go here I would suggest going for the lunch special as it is a better deal. Comparing to other Chinese restaurants it seems more pricey for less. However, I did feel the meal portion size was adequate and the atmosphere was nice. The food also tasted good. Unfortunately, the crab rangoon my husband ordered were filled paper thin, I've seen some places be a little modest with filling but this was definitely the worst I've seen. He said they tasted good though. Everything came out quickly, so overall it was a good experience.

Went in for dinner on the weekend and got seated right away! Service was great and we got our food super fast. I ordered some fried sushi which was amazing 🤤! One of our dishes the pineapple wasn’t the best put presentation was really good. I ordered Hibachi Steak. It came out about 5 minutes before the other 3 meals at the table and was already cool. My father's meal was at least 3 minutes behind the other 2 and was supposed to be spicy. Very disappointed as this is one of our family's favorite restaurants.

I went based on reviews, but I am far from impressed!! I called in my order for shrimp and chicken low mein with crab meat wontons. The low mein was super greasy, and has zero taste! Felt like I was chewing on rubber bands. Except rubber bands may have a better taste..The picture of the low mein is the way it looked after I tried to revive it. It was still horrible. The wontons were more like wonton chips, super hard and no filling in them at all. I paid $21+ dollars for a container. The food went into the trash. 😔😔

I go all the time, especially anytime someone ask about sushi. Service and food are great. But the nats?!! I sat near the server station which is completely across the restaurant from the bar. Beside a dirty booth. They weren’t busy so idk why it wasn’t cleaned. I also had to remove random chair, in between two 4tops so I could sit. Trash in the floor (large napkins) we were there from 8-close. I just don’t like pushing bugs aways from my food indoors. I’m a server as well, my manager once hid 20.00 under a piece of trash to see who picked it up. Would be a great lesson here. I still love the food, I know how nats work but this was excessive. One other thing. Don’t sit ppl at a table when you’ve walked past multiple empty booths, it’s about the experience maybe if we weren’t sitting beside the server station we wouldn’t have notice the nats so bad. First date and he loved the sushi, it’s good sushi and food. I’d just figure out what’s going on with the upkeep. I look at it from customer to employee. It’s way to nice of a restaurant for tables to be sitting dirty for hours and a nat issue.

I was told this was the best sushi place in Gastonia and $58 dollars later and could not be more preoccupied for the definition of the word Best 😂. I ordered 5 different types of sushi rolls and I skipped lunch to save room for the sushi so I ate them anyways. The flavor was fresh but I am still trying to remember what they had. When a meal is great and memorable, you will remember every detail about it. The service was great although there was a “weed” smell around our table and coincidentally was stronger when our server came to our table. That was very uncomfortable. I saw other dishes served at other tables and they looked amazing. I might give it another try with something else but sushi no more. Price is reasonable, place was clean, staff was very nice. Oh and the tempura was not the best 😂. I will continue to make my own sushi at home.

I went there with my friends, we got set down before the table in front of us. we order our drink way ahead of them but our thing didn’t come out until after them. the waiter bought them their drink and took their order as we set there looking confused because we came in 5 min before them but our drink hasn’t come out and he decided to take there order before us. The hostess had to come ask him if he wants to give the table away if he can’t take it. The kang po shrimp was salty. the sushi was okay. but the waiter look like he didn’t want to give us service. we have to ask for sharing plate. We got sushi, had to ask for soy sauce and the bowls for it too. I believe he thought that because we are teenagers we don’t deserve the same amount of service as other customers.

The quality of the sushi here has really gone downhill. Ordered a large order for takeout. It was ready on time but that’s where the good part of the experience ended. It was a very disappointing mixed bag, ranging from middling rolls to downright spoiled tuna sushi. The rice was subpar and all the fish tasted several days old. Only the rolls loaded with sauce were passable. The portions are large, but who cares if you have to spit it out again. It was a truly disappointing experience from a restaurant that has been in decline over the last few years. We will not be going back.

Extremely Disappointed... I found a Bug in My Food!! I'm incredibly disappointed with my experience at Jia's on 1/18/2025 I ordered a sushi roll and a side of pan fried broccoli and was shocked to find a bug in the broccoli . This is a serious health and safety issue, and it made me question the restaurant's cleanliness and food preparation standards. While I understand that mistakes can happen, this is completely unacceptable. I've reached out to the restaurant directly and hope they take this issue seriously and implement better quality control measures. Until then, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

We got takeout tonight. I ordered the calamari appetizer for $9.50 and received 9 pieces of calamari soaked in grease. I also ordered the tuna tartar appetizer but wouldn’t even take a bite. The taco shells are corn ore ida taco shells from your basic grocery store taco kit. The tuna was mushed up tuna with a red color. Scared to even taste it. Total waste of money.
